There’s your expansion.LOL even if I just let the LS accumulate being that I go into it at already lvl 80 I could easily solo the story side alone within a week or two. Waiting a year for a few weeks of story is a waste of time. The person you are replying to would be better to just do the LS as they come out and then log out untill the next update. :P

Why are people so salty?
I logged out for more than a year and when I came back the game was the same as when I left.
LS2 is a great step forward compared to LS1, judging by what we have now, but we do NOT know what the future brings, so how ckittenay that logging off for 1 year gives players an expansion worth of content? You can’t.
Anyway, that is not the main point of post. It’s an improvement so I’m fine with that.
However, when you see people ask for an expansion they mean content that enhances the game(play). You know, stuff like weapon skill and utility skill balances (Not just tooltips and some numbers, but actual changes). Lets be honest, there are so many weapons that serve no purpose in any environment since launch.
People want new maps, weapons, dungeons etc. and not to mention in game rewards that are rewarded for play not bought with gold.
Currently farming gold is the end game, but I do think that gold should be important and I’m fine with the gem store, but right now the gem store is end game. This made champion and EOTM trains end game (cause all that matters is where u get gold and karms the quickest). How is this healthy gameplay. Spamming 1/AoE in a group as end game instead of dungeons/events and PvP battlegrounds…. we NEED an expansion to fix the many design errors that are in the game.

yes, I agree LS1 doesn’t count as expansion because of it’s temp content. Which is a problem for most people. This isn’t the case.
LS2 should be more like an expansion. Without the need of an actual expansion. (something I much prefer. )

I think this is indeed, the bulk of it.
Making the proposed change would also reduce the incentive for them to make new ones. For instance, I have all 9 of the unlimited gathering tools currently released, so I get to have them on 3 alts. There’s an extra sort of convenience factor in doing that. If they could just be endlessly replicated, that aspect would disappear that would make purchases of the newer tools less desirable.
I think the suggestion does make sense in principle, but they want that convenience factor to be absent so that there’s still some incentive to buy the new tools they release.

As it is, I won’t be buying anymore infinite tools. They are very annoying to move from alt to alt and as such spend most of their time on my “mining” char.
I know many others look at infinite tools go “yeah, don’t have to buy but..still have to swap it, so still annoying.”. There’s alot of people who don’t buy them because. If you hop from alt to alt.(and I do so, often.) They’re actually more annoying than just using ori tools. and keeping 2 in inventory everytime you pass a merchant.
There’s people with like 4/5000 hours played and no pre.
And EVERY 5k for a pre? yes, that’s all we need, more people running around with ledgendaries, and mats even more expensive.

yh we really need lfg and kicking update , everyday i do AC full run and I place lfg “READ FIRST full speedrun need 2 zerk ele+ 2 zerk warriors (exp or kick 4k+ ap)” and what i see thiefs,rangers,condi necros . come on what the hell . maybe anet should also add living story called reading with braham or something similar to that

yeah… not in guild wars. if you want certain classes make a guild and go there with those people. at least then it makes sense. but with 4 random people without any communication it doesn’t make a mentionable difference between 5 berserker warriors and 5 random classes. actually it’s less annoying with 5 random classes because the berserker people mostly are noobs who just copied the build somewhere because it deals most dmg in theory.
seriously if you are looking for a certain setup in your group then go there with an organized group.
I gave an example of where it made sense.
SEp1, 2 guards, has always been a smooth run(in my experience), less and you’re playing roulette
Anyway, it doesn’t affect you if people have requirements, you wouldn’t (or shouldn’t be) joining them groups if you don’t like it.

So for the first golem, a necro can fear him in to a wall, two eles can conjure fiery greatswords, the necros take the second swords. Ele #3 takes off hand focus and uses swirling winds and magnetic wave to give the party enough projectile absorption to kill the boss. Skip a bunch of mobs, all eles can take focus off hand an chain swirling winds for the second boss. Necros can apply vuln and do dps. Three golems, pull them in to a corner, drop fiery greatswords, one ele keeps their focus on to swirl and magnetic wave. Tazza just pull out and kill like usual. And there you go, you just cleared SE p1 probably 2x faster than most pug groups.

I’m sure it should’ve been fine. but it was an absolute fail, with the group disbanding after 3 tries. (doing the same thing each try, I might add. )
However, ask for guards, and get 2 guards in your party and sep1 is always a breeze.

There are huge bosses. Tequetal/wurm being the more interesting ones.
If you’re hoping to one shot everything, there’s ambient’s for that.
Maybe it’s the class you’re playing? Try a different class and you may find it more interesting. Or maybe GW2 isn’t for you. Nobody likes every game out there, no matter “how good it is” for alot of people.

Eight people somehow simultaneously holding the same gathering tools doesn’t sound immersive.
In fact, you missed the threads that popped up protesting the announcement of “account-wide gold”. Saying that magically having the same wallet in everyone’s pocket at once was breaking immersion.
What you are asking for is a convenience, but NOBODY would call it immersive.

In the end, I think the issue is that these are actual items, and go in a slot that is also being used for NON-infinite versions. The question is, “Can they code this to work this way WITHOUT reprogramming the game from scratch and WITHOUT breaking anything while they do it?” The answer to this is usually “no” – programming is not magic, it has rules. I don’t pretend to understand them, but there are people on these forums who DO know programming, and can back me up on the fact that it’s complicated to make “small” changes, when they’re tied into core gameplay – everything touches everything else.
If it is possible for them to do without more work than it’s worth digging through, then maybe – maybe – this can eventually happen. I put those odds somewhere in the realm of microscopic, though.

The only thing you’ll accomplish is to frustrate players more.You will camp five out of approximately twenty five world boss events which means 4/5 of the events will have at least one player less.

cooking is relatively cheap to level, it’s not like getting artificer to lv500 or something.
I deleted my thief at lv30, had leatherworker and huntsman at about lv300/350. Felt bad about the time spent. (also had a b-day booster on him.)
But I really really didn’t like playing thief, so deleting it for something else was a good choice for me. I didn’t want a lv80 I’d never use.
So just delete, game is about fun, no point playing a class you don’t find fun.

There are a large number of people with physical difficulties playing this game.
What they should do, is auto attack switches off, IF no other key/skill has been used in say 60sec? This would prevent afk’ing, without punishing those with disabilities.
I’ve been trying to get on Blackgate for two days now, & apparently there’s not even a queueing system in this game for “full” servers, you need to just keep checking all day to see if/when anyone ever logs out, so then you might be able to log in & make a character there yourself…
This system sucks! Please implement a queueing system so we can just get in queue & create a character when the queue pops, instead of this “lol tough luck, server’s full, try again later or go somewhere else” crap we’re stuck with.

Servers are only important for WvW, pve it doesn’t really matter which server you use, and you can play with friends on other servers no problem at all.(so long as you’re in the same region, NA/EU can’t play together)
its also for World Buffs gained from wvw. if your new or poor you want the crafting bonuse’s. maybe the +HP bonus for fighting open world etc or the plethora of other buffs.
also wvw is pve, since its required for map completion

The world buffs aren’t a big deal. In fact I didn’t even know about them.
Just join one of the high pop servers that aren’t “full”.
And no wvw isn’t pve just for requiring map completion, and it actually isn’t too bad getting those points, even on low pop servers.
Maybe this is a terrible idea for you but I’ve done it once (I only had 1 level 80 and 3 others close to 80), and I did it 3 or 4 times over the 6 years I played GW1.
Whenever gameplay got increasingly stale for me I would take a break, and when my desire to play came again, I would return to the game and make it as if my account never existed. I would delete everything and start from scratch. I gave all my money and gear away to random people and just started over.
The result I got was a refreshing feeling as I started to re roll my new characters, chase completely new titles (Legendary Survivor for GW1), and just experience the game for what it was.
When I did it in GW2 it had a little different of an effect (due to 1 storyline as opposed to the 3 full campaigns in GW1), but I discovered my love for the engineer, a class I have never played before, and the one I will most likely main for the foreseeable future.
Maybe I’m crazy, maybe I’m weird, but I only care about the experience of games. I could care less with how much money I have or how pretty my gear is.
But I could never be happier with my playing than I am right now after completely re rolling my account in GW2. And I absolutely loved doing it so many times back in GW1.
TL/DR: If you’re bored and have tried everything and don’t care about material things such as gold and gear, maybe rerolling your entire account will be fun for you.

I like my alts too much <3 (even my mesmer who’s job is to sit on a jp and open it once and awhile. I’ve only deleted 2 alts. A thief that I really couldn’t play and a human guard because I wanted a charr guard. and even deleting those was a tough choice XD)
I like my insta travel, go away, no one is forcing you to use them.

I don’t think asking for it to scan for armour would work, so leave that out.
Another thing the LFG really needs, is in openworld to have a “Living Story” section, and “world boss”, so that ads for these 2 don’t override ads for random stuff.

Do you really really think, we have “all the time in the world” to get t5 Dry Tops? I imagine once the story moves out of this map. That those dry tops will slow down and then stop.

All you need is 3-5 commanders that know what they are doing, where and when the event chains spawn and how the champ mechanics work. If LS moves out of Dry Top (i guess it will stay there for 3 more patches at least), its easily done with a guild of 50 people or a server community event, just like tequatl.
Only it doesn’t reward as well a tequatl.
I really doubt getting people together foreven a tier 4..(.they’re not available on t3 or lower ) once the LS leaves there, will be easy.
There’d have to be a guild created for the purpose of it, but unlike boss spawns it’s a 24/7 event with very little worth getting.
Most people will have got what they want in the next couple of weeks, keeping it going after that.

It’s just another example of gating in a game that started off seemingly promising that gating would be left for other MMO’s to do, but not this one.
These weapons, materials, etc should not be account bound, just as ascended armor and weapons and trinkets should not be (until equipped). Having these tradeable would make the game a lot more interesting for those of us who don’t consider GW2 to be our main job.
People using a credit card to get hold of something? You should be happy if they do, they are supporting the game.
Well lets be honest with ascended, buy gems, change to gold , buy mats, .. ok it’s a round about way to do it, but it’s possible.
Can’t even buy the mats for these weapons though. But then people did complain about not having rewards for areas and that show you “played the game”. rather than bought it all.

Of course not, that would make the entire concept of legendary weapons obsolete. Not to mention kitten off every single player that has spent countless hours farming T6 materials and other resources. Crafting a legendary is SUPPOSED to be the grindiest, most ridiculous thing in game, to give people something to do.
Took me almost two years (I just crafted mine two days ago).
Umm, they’d STILL have to go after all those mats, including all the crafting for the ascended, you realise the thread is making ascended = precursors NOT make ascended=ledgendary.
I love teq, I enter the map between 30min and 1hour early. (go make lunch or something)., and I always get into a server organising to kill him, we;ve had some close calls. But more times than not, it’s an easy win.
The problem with teq is it requires organisation, and 5min early isn’t enough time to organise, also anyone who actually wants to beat teq and knows how to, will get there early.
If any of you folks struggle with doing jumping puzzles or getting to vistas, and are on the NA servers, please shoot me a note. Ill guest to whatever server you’re on and personally help with my Mesmer. I enjoy the puzzles and am willing to help

Shame it’s NA, but I’ve had no issue getting help from friendly mesmers, when I need it. <3. Most memsers are kind and I particularly love those who don’t ask for anything. (I’ll often give a little something if they’ve gone out of their way or whatnot. But only if they haven’t asked. )
I needed a mesmer for the goggles and almost needed a mesmer for the jp without aspects.
But necro + spectral walk made it easier, at least, there’s no falling to your death and repeat the whole puzzle XD.
- 3 gathering tools, all giving additional materials above and beyond what the basic tools give
- Cheaper waypoints
- Self-repairing armor
- Instant bank/TP/Forge access from anywhere
- An innate account boost to gold/MF/karma
- etc. etc.

Gems >>gold = "cheaper " wp’s, so thats no biggy.
self-repairing armour won’t happen as we have repair canisters. That’s your “instant repair”.
It’s ALL already there.

the unlimited tools, are pretty worthless, it’s cheaper to buy a bag slot +bag and carry extra tools there. And that’s bad design in my eyes.
The tools are expensive, they should be worthwhile. And a small drop at something extra is an excellent way to do that.
It’s also a way to bring tp prices down, which I reckon is why anet HAVEN’T added extra drops.
sprockets are at 3silver atm, as oppose to 5/6silver.

If you want to create human characters over and over to get to the level 10 personal story, until your eyes bleed* and you hate the game, to get some keys for “free”, go for it. But don’t spend your money on the keys, ever, or you will hate yourself *and the game.

I love doing that story, and getting my key at the end. The guaranteed reward feels great. I do about 4 key runs a week, which isn’t that much really.
Sitting on 32keys, goal is 250.
I wouldn’t call it p2w, no… But I would call it “pay for advantage”. With the amount of harvesting that I do, my first Watchwork Pick has already paid for itself. It’s just pure profit from now on.
Given everything that’s happened, I wouldn’t rule out more power creep for future gathering tools, even though I think that would be a mistake. It would create a community of the “haves” and “have-nots”, where a rich player who’s willing to pump extra money into his characters upon starting would have an undeniable advantage over a poor player starting from scratch. Is it “winning”? No, but does it create the perception of an unfair playing field? I’d say so.

tbh, I feel the gemstore tools need more of an advantage than just animation, and all tools should drop something extra.
keybinding changes are allowed if it doesn’t give the user an advantage. (some people use them to play with xbox controllers.)
I can’t see this giving anyone an advantage as it must be kind of “clumsy” in comparison to keyboard, but probably good fun.

A refund would be sweet, I’d throw it onto an outfit, but wouldn’t be overly bothered with it.
Heck they could up the price to 1500 per tool = unlocked on every char. This way those who bought multiple, bought them at the cheaper price and arent losing out much.
And anyway, how many people have an unnlimited tool (the same one) on EVERY char? Would anyone actually say no to every char getting a copy of the tool?

It’s an older game, half off sales are common for older games. Maybe it means we’re getting an expansion soon?

It’s there to encourage people to buy who may not otherwise.

Considering vines are taking over waypoints. It does seem likely that there will be less waypoints to use, either temporarily and potentially permanent. (I hope not, I like my insta travel. )

I quite enjoyed the fight. didn’t use the aspects much either ..only need the sun crystal when his shield is up.
you can increase favours inbetween sandstorms. When a sandstorm hits, it’s then locked in that favour til the duration of the sandstorm.
At the end of the storm it resets back to 1.
I frequently see favours reach number 3, have yet to as see 4, but haven’t tried joining into a t4 map either.(via the lfg tool.)
All it is, is cheaper rewards anyway.
I’m not colourblind, and find the red/white circles, are just too thin to see clearly. In the midst of everything else going on.
Even making that circle line thicker, would be helpful.
