It’s done to help notify players of type of class that is coming up to the them to attack. More so in PvP then PvE. Granted you still have to identify which class that is coming but still.

Armor type is a large identifier in PvP.

PvP gameplay variation is little to none. Thieves, mesmers and warriors EVERYWHERE ALLDAY ERRYDAY

Not gonna bother with the gameplay type because they wanted objectives for people to do (hold points) which brings stale gameplay. Each map having its own gimmick is nice but each map having the same crappy stale match type.

Having simple Death Match, Capture the Flag, or something that’s not a turtle fest with 1/2 people roaming is just getting old.

I so desire a New Heavy Armor Melee class

Personally i don’t want more heavies the 2 already is annoying (to me that is i personally just dislike heavy armor in games).

Gives us 1 more light or 1 more medium, like in GW1 where we had 2 heavies (more than enough) 4 medium and 4 light armor i want the game to do that again more heavies are not needed guardian and warrior already fits everything about heavies that we know of.

There were 3 medium armor classes in gw1 dervish, assassin and ranger for base armor. 2 for heavy, warrior and paragon and the rest were light monk, ele, mesmer, necro and ritualist.

Keep in mind these are base armor and that every class had access to class specific and non class specific insignias for their armor and most people are running the base armor of a warrior and paragon (base armor value with their insignias), with over 500 HP in PvP in that game (people still play GvG in gw1) who also can raise their armor with inscriptions and a shield (although very specific on the inscriptions for the armor types). But every class could wield every weapon in the game regardless if they are the proper professions to do so.

Also I think it’s been said by ANet if they were to add another class to the game in the future it would be a heavy.

Less Skills More Balance - Fail? GW1/GW2

Some builds can be fun but they’re not going to be viable in any real form for other than just messing around.

Build variation is very limited compared to gw1. But lets face it build variation kind of went the way of the dodo in gw1 when people realized that the cookie cutter builds were used because they were very very strong. Granted some builds had 1/2 optional slots and they were usually used to fill a gap in the build but gave it more versatility.

Balance in gw2 is lacking to say the least. I’ve got nothing really good to say about it other than warrior is quite strong for the traits and skills and ele is rather lackluster with the latest changes.

I’d say the fact that they dumbed down the options for your weapon skills from being able to choose your own 8 skills to having the option to only choose 5 skills.

Warrior damage has been NERFED since the launch of the game. Seriously GO BACK AND LOOK. Anet has nerfed warriors DPS potential with the quickness change, leg specialist nerf, amongst other changes, and actually nerfing the damage numbers on skills. The warrior having high defense with high hp? GO COMPLAIN ABOUT NECRO HP! They have twice the hp of a warrior (yes thats right death shroud is basically another hp). With great damage and decent mobility and everything a warrior has.

Seriously warrior damage? Its atrocious compared to what it use to be. There regen has only increased because of trait effectiveness, healing signet being buffed to actually being viable instead of Healing Surge all day everyday.

Hammer auto does nothing really other than to serve a purpose to build adrenaline.

I’ve mained a necromancer since day one. I just want to point out that necromancer damage, while isn’t terrible, is still utterly lack luster in comparison to a warriors damage output. From a PVE perspective, Hundred Blades alone puts out far more damage than a necromancer can in the same time span, and the longer the fight continues (because HB is only a 7 second CD, WTF?), that damage gap only increases. Yes, Life Blast can crit pretty hard, but its nothing compared to cleaving 3 things with HB. You wonder why you see LFGs that say berserk wars only? This skill, plus the fact a warrior can stack might like a champ, buff his party’s damage output with banners, and still boast ridiculous survivability in the form of that Healing Signet and high HP pool.

I’m not dismissing necromancers as terrible, far from it. They hold their own quite well, but its really short sighted to call Death Shroud a second life pool when its very mechanic is whats holding the class’s potential back. As far as survivability goes? Necromancers are not that good at it. They’re pretty terrible at surviving compared to thief, warrior (post Healing Signet buff), mesmer, and ele. High HP with no skills to block/dodge/avoid/absorb/regenerate incoming damage is meaningless. I can live practically forever with my warrior because of the GS/Sword mobility. My necro? If I get caught by more than 2-3 people, I’m dead. No exceptions.

I need to point out that your statement about necromancers having any kind of mobility is flat out wrong. Necromancers have ZERO mobility, and ANet has not given them anything meaningful to compensate for this lack of mobility. To be quite honest? Necromancer should have gotten the warriors Healing Signet. It actually fits the necromancer theme, but instead we get that kittenty Signet of Vamprism.

Actually Signet of Vampirsm fits the necros theme better than healing signet. They are after all about DEATH AND UNDEAD. Necros not having mobility? There is nothing stopping you from taking a warhorn and swapping it out unless you’re in PvP and playing a room with locked traits, weapons and skills. Granted it’s kitten but it’s better than nothing.

Necros have far more party support ability than warrior does in anyway shape or form. Warriors party support is either shouts or banners and a fire field here or there courtesy of a burst skill. Might stacking? Other classes do it better and more easily unless you’re talking about the greatsword trait and that only effects the wielder.

Also don’t complain about a bad mechanic. Necros have 1 of the better class mechanics. Sure it’s not the greatest but hell look at rangers. Pets have and always will be a useless nuisance to the ranger in this game. They took the concept of the ranger in gw1 and turned it into a beast master that is either forced to spec into the pet so it doesn’t die in kittens or completely ignore it.

Play to the strengths of the class and not to cover your weaknesses of them.

Also if you’re using a greatsword sword/warhorn on a warrior. The only thing you’re killing is NPC’s and not actual players and even then if you’re doing that in WvW you should be switching out that sword for something that gives more raw damage.

GW1 Nostalgia -- Why not just PLAY GW1?

Because ANET abandoned the development of GW1 to make a better game based on the same principles – no grind for stats, cosmetic endgame, good and engaging pvp.

You mean that they tried to do this and failed? Because when it was just exotics being the best you could buy there really was no grind for stats.

As for the pvp it’s boring and always will be.

And trevis, I’m playing only wvwvw because spvp is overcrowded by farming arenas.
I’m pretty much into hardcore pvping, but spvp doesn’t give me the kicks anymore… Its way more heroic to play the objective in a big scaled battleground than in a small one..

But comparing spvp with wvwvw is Luke comparing CoD and Battlefield… Both great games but no way to “compare” them…

A question of TASTE nothing else!

Then avoid the public lobbies and do team arenas and solo arenas. No farming in there granted it takes forever to get matches now that they messed with it but still. WvW was and never will be fair in any sense. It’s like getting yelled at for going into a 5v5 fight in WvW with 20 people in a zerg who then wipe the other people.

Also in what way shape or form does ascended gear pander to the hardcore players than the casuals? I’d put myself somewhere in between the middle of the 2 categories and I’m slowly working my way to my full set of ascended armor for my warrior (currently 4/6 waiting on laurels and materials to finish it out).

Yes the hardcore player is going to have it sooner than your casual player (seriously though this is always the case unless you’ve got this casual who is lucky to get 6 of the same armor type boxes to drop) but the stat-gain is so minimal that it’s more than negligible unless you’ve got 2 people of exactly even skill, same build and same playstyles WHICH YOU NEVER WILL than that minimal gain is going to be noticeable.

But comparing the 2 is actually doable other than the fact that its pretty much PvE but with kittens from other servers trying to kill you.

So you’re complaining because of a game mode which was never meant to be taken in any manner of seriousness (WvW) doesn’t have an even playing field? Ughhh doh? I can take a lvl1 into wvw that handicaps me and my server to begin with.

If anything build variety has increased since launch with nerfs and buffs to every class. Warriors went from complete and utter trash in PvP to a force to be reckoned over the course of a year.

The casual PvP’er is going to complain and whine till healing signet gets nerfed and roams around WvW with a lvl30 staff necro and whines when a lvl80 warrior specced to WRECK condition based builds kills him in the open field.

Your hardcore PvP’er doesn’t have to worry about having the opponent having a slight armor advantage from ascended vs exotic because THEY AREN’T IN WVW, but playing out of Heart of the Mists in which everyone has a level playing field.

Anyone who is actually into hardcore PvP isn’t playing WvW.

The 5 man party is because of complaints in gw1 that fielding 8 players to do such and such was to hard to do. Or that fielding 8 players for gvg was hard to do if you werent already an established guild with contacts in that community.

Basically the only real content that really requires more than 5 people are the dragon events, temple of lyssa, karka queen and guild missions. Everything else can be done with 5 or less people (and don’t say grenth is impossible to do with 5 people I’ve done it with 4 people at 4 AM)

guild wars 2 population and competitive pvp

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Travis the Terrible.4739

Travis the Terrible.4739

Does competitive pvp have a chance? That ship sailed over a year ago when the game launched without any of the structures needed for esports. Nothing they do now can change that. The majority of competitive pvpers have quit and they will never come back.

I’m gonna just throw this out there. League of Legends before it had any real competitive scene (I’m talking about when dota2 was just a figment of imaginations) had 0 of the structures needed for “esports.” They also had to buy there way into tournaments (purchasing of PC’s to be used at tournaments), offering their own company’s money and not money from sponsors etc etc.

It remains to be seen that gw2 can be a real competitive format because of the way the game is played. There is no set meta other than personal character builds and every player has their own play style. There is no linear projection to project the outcome of a match other than watching 5 players just steamroll the other 5.

It’s not like a moba game where 1 team fight can decide a game if the stars align and you wipe the enemy team with both of your side racks down, push up the middle lane and just outright end the game (I’ve played a few matches that were like this in HoN and League).

Having a competitive scene also means you need a balance patch more so than we’ve had. If I was going to say anything about gw2 they’ve gone in the wrong direction in terms of promoting their game in terms of competitive gaming, compared to gw1 having 2 large tournaments (the guild wars world championships and factions championships) within a year of a game nobody has heard of was mind blowing.

Let alone the advances in online streaming (neither of these championships were streamed) would of made these 2 championships would have made these bigger. Go to twitch and look at people playing gw2, then look at people who are streaming league. Granted league is much much larger in their community they have anywhere from 50 times the viewers at any given time than ANY stream of gw2 on average.

If twitch was around at the time of the GWWC or the GWFC gw2 may not even be in existence to these days. The people who followed the teams who were involved were chatting away in Lions Arch district 1-20 about how Idiot Savants didn’t have a shot in hell to even make it out of the first round of the GWFC (they went to the finals after having won a wild card tournament to get in). Idiot Savants [iQ] weren’t just underdogs but they were THE UNDERDOG. They were basically a group of ragtag guys at the time who all just happened to stumble their way into the finals with some at the time relatively SUICIDAL tactics or that they went for “Victory or Death” in a game where they sat in their base surrendering the flag stand and giving the other team moral boost after boost while sitting in base for 30 minutes to counter a split strategy. Sure they may have not won the tournament but these guys are probably remembered for their brilliant play, ballsy tactics and overall just stunning teamplay. This is when you had to field 8 players together as well.

There was very little actual coverage of these tournaments which lead to the death of the competitiveness of gw1. IIRC the GWWC was held in Taipei with little to no coverage other than on gw1 website. GWFC was held in Leipzig, Germany and had a 3 hour program or something with player interviews and what not.

The only real way to watch the matches for these tournaments was to log into gw1 and use the “observation” feature which was implemented shortly before the GWWC.

tldr version -Coverage is everything in “esports.” Players will come and go but if you have the coverage from day1 to the last day. Odds are people are going to watch.

Guild halls aren’t implemented yet because they don’t want people just sitting afk in them after there implemented as it takes away from the “social” crap or something along those lines or simply Guild vs Guild will be yelled for until its implemented and not being vaguely the same as it was in gw1 and then be hounded for it.

Keep in mind that if we do get guild halls they’ll more than likely have crafting stations, a trading post, a bank and numerous other crap that will probably have to spend influence to get.

Guild halls are something they’ve said they would get to “eventually” but it’s more or less at the bottom of the barrel.

Gems are expensive (EU)

Correct me if I’m wrong but online purchases aren’t taxed depending on where you live in the US

If you live in the US you pay in us dollar. If you live within EU you pay in euro. Depending on your currency, what country you live in, the exchange from your currency to the other, in this case euro will be different depending on where you live and what currency you use. In US you only use one currency, i believe? so you have it all good. Though you suffer from not having free health care etc.

OnT: I think US has their own taxes and EU has our own taxes. I doubt a specific country’s taxes applies. In Sweden we have 25% on wares. EU has one of their own i guess, that applies to all countries within EU. Same with US. When it’s a global purchase.

Think you missed my point totally here. In some states of the United States of America you do not have to pay a tax on internet purchases be it from amazon or in a game. Also your healthcare isn’t free you pay for it with your taxes which is why they’re kittening sky high compared to Americas.

In Florida I do not have to pay a sales tax on an internet purchase to a company that has no physical representation in the state (which I believe is the case for ANet as their HQ is in Seattle or something). I’m not 100% sure if Washington also allows them to do this.

Then again I’ve also never purchased gems other than a gem card which I didn’t have to pay a sales tax on.

There can only be one champion though. Lately I have been wondering who was the champion of Zhaitan? Is it the Eye of Zhaitan at the source of Orr? Tequatl is often called a lieutenant of Zhaitan and not a champion as fas as I know. For Kralkatorrik its the Shatterer and for Jormag it is supposedly the Claw of Jormag, although I am not sure about it.

Glint was a champion of Kralkatorrik but had her mind freed by the Forgotten and she then prophecised (spelling?) the Flameseeker Prophecies. We don’t know if the Kralkatorrik had multiple champions at the same time of Glint because the champions also “slept” except for Glint who had her mind freed.
(Keep in mind this is speculation as “The Great Destroyer” was the greatest “general” (I assume champion and the first of the champions to awaken possibly so the champions seem to have slept as well) of Primordus that when defeated “stalled” the awakening of Primordus by 142 years).

Only 1 champion of Kralkatorrik holds the name of Shatterer which is then bestowed upon the next dragon after the previous is defeated.

Tequatl is classified as a champion of Zhaitan by the wiki.
Claw of Jormag is indeed a champion of Jormag though.

Scarlet in the Fall of Abaddon?

in Lore

Posted by: Travis the Terrible.4739

Travis the Terrible.4739

How could the sylvari, Scarlet Briar, be in the Abaddon lore? Simple she couldn’t have been because the Sylvari race was born around 1300 AE (I say this because they were first seen along the Tarnished coast in 1302 AE).

Abaddon was imprisoned somewhere around 1 BE in the Realm of Torment, by the 5 other gods, after giving the races of Tyria magic (thus causing wars) and was killed 1076~ years later in 1075 AE by the Order of Whispers and Order of Sunspears. When his power upon being defeated threatened the destruction of Tyria, Kormir decided to absorb the power becoming the Goddess of Truth in the process.

Now we don’t exactly know what the “Fall of Abaddon” has a few possibilities, his imprisonment in the Realm of Torment by the 5 (6 if you want count the twins Ilya and Lyss as 2 separate gods or maybe it was just 1 god but bipolar? lol) gods, him failing to break free of his imprisonment, or his death.

The only thing that would make any sense to put Scarlet in any of this would for her to have been there would be to falsify the fractal data so she could place herself there.

Hammer is awesome in PvE. Awesome cc and hit like truck.

Axe hits almost as much hammer does but it has a faster attack rate giving you more dps. Not to mention that many of the axe traits are in the traits you’d be going for in power to increase your damage output even further.

Hammer like I said before is more of a pvp weapon.

The reason nick asking for buff final thrust is bc sword has nothing else but 11111111 spam till target get under 50% hp. Completely 0 pressure. Sup? Any noob gonna disagree with me or say swap weapon? My second weapon is ranged one which i will use while being kited, not when i am in melee range.

Im not sure if final thrust needs a buff, but i know that flurry does need a huge one for power build. Right now theres nothing to be worried about fighting against someone with sword as they cant do anything but smash 1

You have a second weapon set and an off hand to play with also. Sword is great for sticking to your target while still maintaining decent DPS but you have to use your weapons swaps to be an effective warrior.

See? This is why I loved Guild Wars 1, you could make the weapon to suit your gameplay. Here in Guild Wars 2 you’re just stuck with what you have and you guys think that if a weapon was designed this way, so it must be.
The sword is like a greatsword, only it’s bigger. Why then one does mainly conditions and the other heavy damage?

We need more weapon’s skills.

I feel you bro. A lot of people think empathic bond is SO GOOD but compared to other classes its really not all that great since it skills our own mechanic and no other classes has such a flawed mechanic like our and we have to use skills that just punishes it even more. Warrior i feel has everything if you create the right build. If warrior stays to what it is other classes really do need an upgrade to be some where near what warrior has utility wise/trait wise/weapon wise.

That’s because they thought it was a good idea to make the class a beast master compared to the gw1 ranger where having a pet was completely optional. I can think of 1 build for pvp and 1 for pve (gw1) where having a pet was pretty much mandatory, the old bunny thumper build, and the barrage pet-way build you’d take to do stupid easy stuff and make it even easier.

Why are you forcing us to craft?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Travis the Terrible.4739

Travis the Terrible.4739

Not sure what the problem is… basic crafting is the same for any skill except cooking: two generic components + the stat item.

Swords: blade + handle + magic (blood/fang/claw etc)
Armor: shell + lining + magic
Jewelry: base + setting + jewel

You “discover” a recipe by making a bunch of components and using the formula to combine them. Make six zerker insignia, twelve armor components, and assemble them to create a full set of zerker armor. You learn fine/master components automatically as your skill goes up, rare/exotic recipes come from a vendor.

Used to be about 10 levels per skill you got to 400, but when they raised the cap to 500 they reduced the XP a bit. Not sure if you can reach 80 just by crafting any more.

You can not get lvl80 from crafting currently because 6 of trades give 10 levels while 2 (jeweler and chef) only give 7 levels.

Rush swap with Burst skill

in Warrior

Rush is fine. GS Burst skill needs a complete rework but Rush doesn’t need to be nerfed. If anything it needs to be FIXED so that it hits its target more often than 1/5 situations.

The whole idea that warrior mobility is insane and OP came after two things :

1) Warriors becoming popular for a variety of OTHER reasons – and people just being mad at this.
2) Warriors being in the spot light for a while because of hambow builds and people being angry that warriors went from free kill to an actual threat over the course of some patches.

So now – every aspect of warriors is under attack by " nerf this or that" type threads. Because bads will be bads.

Warriors went from garbage in PvP last year to top tier because of changes to their traits. Warrior dps has actually been nerfed be it from indirect methods (quickness going to 50%, the leg specialist trait getting a cooldown), nerfed by direct methods on damage of their weapon skills.

What they lost in damage was the ability to actually take some abuse and clear conditions on them while not losing a bunch of power in the process (the 25 trait minor in defense), which you’re going to be speccing 20 into the tree for Cleansing Ire and more than likely Dogged March and gaining the 15 minor Adrenal Health (gain hp/s based on adrenaline level).

If you play PvP be it sPvP (lets just ignore the public lobbies because every bad and mad is in them), tPvP, or hell even WvW Cleansing Ire is probably the most taken trait (not counting minors) out of every trait since it came out.

People look at warriors and say Healing Signet is a problem? It actually heals less if you’re poisoned than Adrenaline Surge at full adrenaline over a minute (2 uses of surge)

I have never seen this anywhere except in Frostgorge- it was that way at launch too.
Anywhere- no matter how out of the way- if you are going down and there are people nearby they will res.
I will run halfway across a map myself just to res a player

Do you play on yaks bend? Cause when ever I’m in frostgorge all be it for maybe 30 minutes at most I’m usually hanging out near the troll pit.

.

I prefer the Frostgorge zerg over Queensdale any day anyway, as you are standing around doing nothing or running long ends from a wp to the champ.

People in frostgorge train are friendlier from personal experiences.

People in Frostgorge are horrible on my server.

I was just mapping Frostgorge the other day on my necro and I ran into the svarnir camp behind the Claw spawn- I was fighting for my life and I saw a player in the distance coming closer- I think yay!
When I went down he ran past me with out a glance and a couple of seconds he ran over my, by then dead body, with out a backward glance.

That was when I remembered why I never set foot on that map.

you can say what you want about Queensdale train but this will never ever happen on that map

I’ve given up hope on being ressed by randoms in open world. But when I come across downed people in open world I usually res them unless I hate them or if they’re a thief (unless I’m doing world bosses then I just res everyone I can).

Is hammer pretty worthless in PVE?

in Warrior

Compared to every weapon save for mace mainhand? Yes it is.

Hammer is a control weapon (it has 5 skills counting the burst that impede on opposing forces) and more for pvp.

I’m tired of people coming to the warrior section and complain about us being OP in whatever. It’s annoying to find all these posts scattered throughout the warrior section.

So if you have a complain, please fill them in here, in the complaint box.

Because if we gather all the complains into one place… Us warriors can have a good laugh together in this huge topic about your misfortunes.

Regards,

-Typical Warrior

I’ll take the bait. (I play an elementalist main so you understand where these come from)

  • Healing signet 400 HP/Sec, Signet of restoration 200 HP per case (with after cast, most spells can’t even be cast 1 per second).
  • All of your 20% reduction skills come with a bonus (i.e. like 20% reduction on rifle/harpoon with pierce while rangers require a master trait that only gives pierce).
  • on the topic of crackshot, Eles 20% reduction to water magic cool down was moved to master because of balance (Devs think skill reductions are master level), Crackshot is adept…
  • mobility on Greatsword, 4 words: “Ride the lightning nerf” (Eles were nerfed into the ground because of our ability to disengage, we’ll see what happens with warrior mobility).
  • over 1000 additional “Free attribute points” (8000 HP = 800 vitality and armor 300 armor = 300 toughness) while maintaining comparable (or better) DPS, better control, and great mobility.

should I continue?

Eles have water attunement and depending on if you’re using a staff, double dagger, or sceptor dagger you also have 2 skills that heal you and allies on those weapon sets in water, 3 if you’re using staff (the auto heals people in a 180 radius or something). On top of your healing skills. Oh and if you’re 20 in water or higher you can take cleansing wave which clears a condition and heals you some.

As for your free stats? Warrior has that health pool and armor for a reason they’re meant to be in the front-lines taking abuse. Your squishy ele? It has twice as many skills and 2 more heal skills.

Ride the lightning is a 20 second cooldown if you hit something (yes those poor little bunnies hopping around in wvw count), 40 if you don’t. A 16/32 second recharge with the trait. Crippling or chilling a warrior who is using GS 3 and 5 for movement also makes them move slower than if they were just walking.

20% recharge and piercing rounds on a rifle is still not going to make people use it when longbow burst is castable while moving and gives a fire combo field. Longbow offers far more utility than rifle brings to the table not to take longbow over a rifle except other than 200 range (which can be changed if traited). If they removed crackshot tomorrow I can tell you the majority of warrior players would tell you now “wait this was a trait?”

There are 2 sides to your coin sir. Now I will admit warriors are on the stronger side of the PvP match ups these days but hell go back a year warriors were complete and utter trash compared to every other class. The stuff you mentioned for warrior? Not even a factor. Let’s just forget the fact that greatsword was indirectly nerfed because of quickness being taken down to 50%, the immobolize on cripple trait being trampled upon nerfing every weapon to some degree other than mace, axe auto being nerfed and just recently hammer 4 and burst. The only real thing making warriors competitive is not healing signet. It’s the traits in the defensive tree cleansing ire and dogged march, adrenaline heals (a minor) which are giving warriors there staying power in fights with the 25 into defense being doubled in its effectiveness giving them a little extra power.

2 sides to every coin just keep that in mind.

Not going to work unless people start getting banned for making whine threads… too bad that is not going to happen.

Another stupid warrior making a stupid comment, how surprising.

Well, tell me Mr. Smart Guy, why should you be allowed to spam the warrior forums with multiple threads about the exact same thing? One would be more than enough, I shouldn’t have to wade through tons of that crap every time I come to these forums.

I shouldn’t have to fight 5 tanky condi warriors every spvp match, so tell me exactly how warrior still needs buffs?

Iv’e actually gotten in a few games where almost the whole enemy team is just warriors.

Stop playing public spvp lobbies. That’s your main problem. Go play the solo queue or play team arenas with guildies or friends.

Swords in a power build?

You can if you want to I did it for about 5 months at release of the game. You can easily get 90% crit chance with a sword with minimal effort in trying to get it with berserker gear. You can get 100% crit chance with a sword easily with berserkers gear as well

Why crafting is so unpopular.

Frankly the drop rates for Dragonite ore (even from the big bosses) and the empyreal fragment rate from chests is my big gripe. I have 4 ascended weapons and it is a real drag. Also too many of these items including the ascended items are account bound.

Emp frags are easy to get if you do dungeons quite a bit.

i don’t remember GW1 has any crafting in it and it was fun without it… weapon and upgrades you got are from drops.

GW1 did have crafting but it was more like vending tbh. You bring -insert items here- to -insert blacksmith here-

In many mmos that I play I get the short end. Ex: in wow im always the last of my friends to get epic gear from a dungeon because of bad luck drops. But this game takes it to a whole other level of crappy drops. It took me 6 months or farming dungeons, champ trains, world bosses, guild missions, and some fractals to get my first exotic drop. 6 months and I get an exotic that sells for 1 gold at best. I remember the first few weeks of the game people could farm gold in dungeons or out in the world if they were u to the grind. Now you need to grind to just get some silver.

If you’re grinding and barely making anything you’re doing something wrong. I can get 20 gold in a matter of just playing over 3/4 hours and that’s not even playing the trading post.

Sylvari are the true scurge of Tyria

,thats why at the end of TA dungeon Grand Duchess Faolain can escape because Caithe wants to help her rather than kill her.

Or the fact that it might be that they’re actually former lovers (yes Caithe and Faolin are lovers). Faolin tried to bring Caithe to the Nightmare by poisoning her but Caithe resisted it and was going to die and Faolin then took the poison out of her to save her life. And in the 1 mission you see “futures” Caithe says “I will fall into Nightmare for you.”

I know way to much about these silly plant people.

The Nightmare Court (which was founded by Cadeym (the 1st of the “second” born sylvari), who brought Faolin into Nightmare,) is actually just trying to broaden the dreams of the Pale Tree to include darker ones to allow more sylvari to be choose to be good or evil.

The way I look at it the Nightmare Court is kinda like the 13 original colonies and the pale tree is like Britain.

It got changed recently to scale with your adrenaline level. I dont know what you mean by needing 100% but it should be 3 bars. 100% adrenaline is 3 bars and there is no inbetween like 2.5 or 1.25 or something. Only 1, 2, and 3

There is that 1 warrior trait that reduces the amount of adrenaline you use.

Why is condition damage intentionally restricted?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Travis the Terrible.4739

Travis the Terrible.4739

Condition damage wasn’t so great back in GW1 too, but at the time, conditions dealt a set amount of damage and was capped. Also, the durations were reset on application if I remember correctly.

The problem with condition builds in gw1 was that it applied a DoT that was based on the condition . Not to mention that RC (restore condition prot monk) was fairly common to bring into GvG or HA. The conditions were reset on application as you said.

Condi pressure builds were incredibly reliant on shutting down the prot monk from removing them.
