In essence gw2 is not pay 2 win.
You can get everything in this game that would give you an “advantage” by buying it for the most part (ascended sort of excluded because you can’t by ascended pieces but the materials for it and because of the trinkets).
Seriously people need to learn what p2w means again.

If only old shutdown mesmer play style from gw1 was transferred over. It was so great to enjoy having a mesmer who could interrupt and shutdown people and very frustrating when playing against.

With the way combat works in gw2 I feel punishing movement with more than just torment (which is pretty negligible), having a skill such as bull’s strike would make PvP more enjoyable.
Can’t transfer what conditions I don’t have.
Cleansing ire is to good.
It’s more so the fact that people realized that heal sig is extremely strong with adrenal health and mango pie in builds that have high toughness.

By the time you get to stomp those 5 sec might be over, if it was 8 sec i would say ok but 5 sec wich is actually 4 sec by the time you get to do smt is not worth in my opinion.

Lord Pain, how is a warrior regenerating health faster than I can dish out damage balanced at all? As well as having more mobility than a thief. That sure makes sense.
Then stop running 30 in the defensive trees and armor that gives 0 power. This is a problem of how you’re playing not how warriors are.
I beg to differ. It takes forever to comlete the PvE part of world completion. It’s boring, and there are people who don’t like it as much as those who hate WvW. I would dare say it would be faster, by FAR to get WvW points over PvE points.
I never said anything about time for ease of doing it. The WvW maps are more difficult to get 100% simply because of the fact YOU HAVE TO CONTEND with 2 other servers who want the places you need for PPT.
Just because something is easier to map out (pve maps) does not mean that it doesn’t take longer to do than harder (wvw maps). Just ignore the fact that Lornars Pass has the same amount of skill points, pois, vistas, and hearts as just 2 of the borderlands. Of course its going to take longer to map out all of the PvE maps simply because the pve maps out number them 7 times the amount.

But you need WORLD completion for a legendary. So, how do you propose that WvW players only get a legendary? Or they don’t deserve one as much as PvE players?
Completing PvE map compared to wvw is easier. You don’t have to contend with 2 other servers trying to kill you at the same time. If you wait long enough you’ll eventually be green constantly crying on the forums instead of gathering people who need it on your server to just go and take the kitten thing is just silly.
No seriously if you want to cap something easily without cheating gather several people in the “off” hours and either build a few golems or some flame rams. Now granted capping something in EBG is harder than it sounds you can get by unnoticed if you do it correctly (I’ve done it before with 2 omega golems and a few buddies who needed a vista).
The problem with wvw isn’t so much of skill as it is player availability. Higher tier servers like blackgate just have the playerbase to just steamroll 24/7.
There is a reason why transferring to servers with lower player population costs less than higher populations. Think transferring to anvil rock from black gate and then blackgate to anvil rock one is going to cost you more and queue times on black gate where as anvil rock really doesn’t have a queue from what I’ve heard.

They’ve also hinted to the fact that if they were to release new classes to the game it would be a while before it even comes out simply because of balance issues. Hell they still are trying to balance stuff out since the beginning of the game.
If you ever played gw1 you know what major overhauls and class releases did to the PvP. Assassins were good, bad, great, decent, crap, strong and even with the flavor of the month builds abusing maps with these classes (looking at you druids isle and being able to shadow step into bases when guild thieves existed). If you go look at dervishes since their recent overhaul to them you’d say that the class is more broken now than it was at release.
Assuming no traits on anything warrior condis and knockdowns/backs are as followed
greatsword – 2 condis (cripple and vuln)
axe main – 2 (vuln and cripple)
axe off- 0
warhorn (off only) – 1 (weakness)
sword main – 3 (bleed, cripple and immob)
sword off- 2 (torment and bleed)
mace main – 3 (daze, stun and weakness)
mace off – 2 (vuln and knockdown)
shield (off only) – 1 (stun)
longbow – 4 (burning, bleed, immobolize and blind)
rifle – 4 (bleed, cripple, knockback and vuln)
hammer- 5 (weakness, knockdown, stun, cripple, and a knockback)
Now why does hammer auto need a condition on its auto? Of all the melee weps for warrior, only axe and hammer have no conditions attached to them as mainhand weps just damage for auto attacking. Hammer offers plenty of control effects to justify it not having super high damage or conditions. Just ignore the fact that they recently nerfed hammer burst and 4 because hammer does to much damage as well…
I have tons of Bloodstone Dust, but I can’t get my hands on the other materials in that amount. Why do they ram Bloodstone Dust into our inventory like this but make the others so much more rare? What is the logic or theory behind it?
If you do dungeons and world bosses dragonite ore and emp frags are quite easily obtained. Not as available as dust because of champ boxes. Just pointing that out.
The Canthan district used to be there. As you may already know, Divinity’s Reach is divided into several districts, some of them assigned to refugees from the other continents.
The Canthan District however was removed at the last minute before release because Arenanet got complaints about it from asian countries. So they removed it and created the large hole.
That’s not what happened at all.
NCSoft didn’t want the game to copy real-world asian culture because they were afraid it would then be labeled an ‘asian’ MMO. They’ve never said exactly why but I would bet it’s because being labeled as such has a negative connotation because of the massive amount of grindy pay-to-win ‘asian’ mmos that have been flooding the market for years.
Ironic as NCSoft owns and operates a few of the worst of those MMOs.
Let’s just ignore all of guild wars: factions which was based off of asian cultures.

It’s beyond me how they think they can balance both PvP and PvE without separating skills, that will never happen.
Except they have if you’ve ever read patch notes. Several skills and I think some traits have less conditions/damage/recharge for pve/pvp stuff.
Warrior axe 5 had its damaged increased by 50% in pvp but not in PvE. Keep in mind that if they were to buff something for PvE it would effect WvW because WvW uses PvE skills not pvp. Unless they were to split stuff into pvp/pve/wvw which would require more time on balances.
Mark of blood for necro was nerfed to have 1 less stack of bleeding it applies in pvp on the 10th. So they’ve already split pvp/pve skill wise. GW1 show’s that they can already split skills to do different things.
So yeah….

It’s to stop people from having people open dungeons/fractals for them when they haven’t done story mode/that fractal level.
Supply traps slow down a zerg. It seems people forget these exist.
Stomping/finishing people is only happening in small skirmishes from yaks I can confirm. Many of our zergs just go straight out NUKE IT NUKE IT ALL mentality until you’re either running away or few stragglers.
Back in my day games had heart and soul in them, game developers cared more about putting out a quality product instead of aiming for the highest possible profit. Those games surely had their problems but nothing serious compared to what we have now.
Now you get to play trash, a cash cow of a game where the developers don’t give a kitten about their customers / cattle.
When GW1 came out getting max stat armor wasn’t too hard if you’ve played for about a month or two and in less than 3 years time we had 3 expansions with that content that’s still there to this day.
Over 1 year passed since GW2 launched and we’re still with the same vanilla game we bought last year, only thing that’s permanent is fractals, we keep eating temporary content which is used mostly as an excuse to keep putting new items in the gem store.
They gave us Ascended armor but for what purpose? Fractals are capped at lvl50 and it’s doable without the armor. We can complain and argue about how grindy the game is, ANet isn’t going to change that. The time spent on getting Ascended armors out could have been used more wisely.
Get your facts straight people, ANet doesn’t care how grindy their games is and neither about your opinions.
Except with the armor you can use the +5 infusions you buy with relics and not have to use +10 you have to either buy or craft to.
Not to mention that fractals are currently capped to 50 for the time being with higher levels to come later which you’ll need higher than 70 AR to do most likely.
YB is smart i gotta give them that. But their defense is just annoying, not fun to fight.

Warrior’s have to break combat with signet if they are taking heavy damage, that’s just the way it is with passive regen, with a guardian however, you have access to many big burst heals and protection which let you stay in combat longer.
The signet is only overpowered when paired with Melandru runes and the -condition duration food, now something has come along and countered the condition meta, people start freaking out.
Except for the fact that -condi duration food does not work in pvp other than wvw. Why are people not saying ether renewal is op it removes up to 8 conditions on a 15 second cooldown.

Let’s just ingore the fact that FA tanked to drop down to silver league.
And henge winning all 7 in the lowest bracket of all is honestly not that surprising. They should have won every match by over 200k.

If you need proof I’ve got 1 ring that I got infused and I’m only lvl22 or 23.
Merging servers would make the game unplayable during NA prime time. BG won the league with having a strong presence outside of primetime NA. I don’t know about the lower tier servers but all gold league servers can field full maps during NA prime.
I can confirm that yaks has had at least EBG queue during primetime hours and maybe a borderland. Anywhere from a 5 minute queue to an hour+. Last week vs sbi and ebay we had 3 of the 4 maps queued during primetime.
If this were true, BG blobs wouldn’t constantly be running/avoiding SoR counter (albiet much smaller) forces. But I can agree with your sentiment that there should be more counters to blobs.
How about a new trap that hits 60 players, and multiplies its damage based on the number of enemies it hits. So it’ll land a nice instant 500 damage vs 1 target.
2500 vs 5 man
5000 vs 10 men
10,000 vs 20 men
20,000 vs 40 men
30,000 vs 60 man blob. Insta counter. No longer safe to run blobs., and super costly prior to that.
Crazy idea but no more crazy than blobs?
For balance sake, trap could only trigger on 40+. Players can still blob, but there’s always that risk that the enemy has set an ambush.
This idea is brilliant! I’ll just log on my Thief, run into your zerg (in stealth ofcourse so you wont know im there) and just instakill a whole zerg.
That sounds entirely reasonable and above all fun. Right?
Or in a zerg on zerg fight, ill run into your clusterkitten and pop stability and just blow you all up with this trap. That sounds balanced right?
Because what this game needs is even more instagib mechanics that you dont see comming. Especially in WvW.
1) Yes. Finally a job for thieves. That said, if you’d ever placed a trap recently you’d know you can’t drop them in stealth. Good luck running into an enemy blob and doing a 4 second channel as a thief.
2) Yes, in general, it does sound reasonable. And fun!
3) Yes. But then again, are you suggesting you and your server are stupid enough to cluster up in the first place? Because surely you know and have heard about these new traps right? I mean sure, I’ll be reasonable, you probably pushed your luck a few, 5, 6, 7, ..10 times. But eventually you learned the new “dont blob you kittening idiot” meta.
4) But hey, if you cant look around and see 59 other players and think "I probably shouldn’t be standing here, I guess there really is no hope for you to ever see anything coming.
I guess I could do this on my warrior theoretically I could live for 5 seconds taking no damage, condis or being knocked/stunned/dazed.
My main is an ele, i have also a war and a guard, in high lvl content i can play full zerk war i cant play full zerk ele, play full zerk war it s easyer then play dps/support ele… trash mobs hit too hard, the base hp of ele is ridicoulus, we have dodge and updraft from dagger, mesm for example, have alot of evade skill and 50% more base hp… anet need to rewrite mobs dmg otherwise war and guard will ever be better choise… i play 90% ele 5 war and 5 guard.. and i really dont underdtand why my full zerk war have more survivability than my ele…
You don’t understand why you’re zerk warrior has better suvivability than a zerk ele? Really?
Higher base hp and armor for the warrior than ele. It’s that simple.

I honestly don’t understand why people who want vertical progression and power creep came to Guild Wars 2 of all games. There are several other games out there that would meet your needs.
I think ANet lost a lot of their fans they gained through GW1 by making this move. I certainly won’t be playing WvW AT ALL because of ascended gear.
Ascended gear doesn’t even give you that much of an advantage unless it’s literally a mirror match up with the same gear in ascended vs exotics. Even then a better player is still more than likely to win. Lets assume that it’s full exotics and then ascended trinkets and weapons. The difference in stats is so minimal at that point because lets face it. If it’s the same build and same skill level of players then it would matter. But not everyone is the same skill level and not everyone runs the same exact build.
Also WvW isn’t even PvP it’s PvE with other people getting in the way.
Perhaps there will be a backpack in the 2nd Halloween update.

It’s easier for them to put out backpacks and just resize them for every race/size than it is for them to make armor for every race/gender. Time wise it’s better for them to put backpacks out then have to come up with new armor 10 times for 1 piece. Now I’m not condoning this because I’m actually quite tired of seeing a backpack as a reward for getting like 100 achievement points (literally didn’t even look at achievements for the dungeon until after I got 10/10 for slickpack). But expect a backpack simply because it’s less time consuming than armor.

I’d hate to say it but mad king has been a staple in guild wars since 2005.
I’ve said it before, but GW2’s main issue is rewards. People want Gear and Items, and i’m not talking about Wings, Backpacks, and Minis. I’m talking about full gear sets, weapon sets with bonuses, awesome guild rewards, etc. GW2 just currently offers back slot items and minis.. zzzz.
edit: oh, and MOUNTS. imagine beating Teq for a “chance” at a mount. That would be worth doing.
Except it wouldn’t be worth doing because you can just waypoint all over the map anyway.
The problem with the content is that it’s not rewarding enough past the first time you beat him. It takes hours to get into the main channels during peak hours if you even get in at all. Takes multiple tries to even kill it.
100 people in voip to even beat it? bad
Forcing cooperation to beat something? kinda good
Having an entire battle rely on 1 gimmick (looking at you turrets)? kinda bad
Honestly I’ve more or less given up on the entire thing. Only time I’ll be in sparkly fen is to ore and wood.

6) ANet decides to make the other world bosses comparably difficult, and under-utilized.
Then they better nerf champ farming because no one would bother doing any of the world bosses then.
Wait a week for a general strategy to form and for people to understand the fight. If it’s still too “hard” at that point, then consider nerfing it.
People thought AC and CoF were too hard and begged for nerfs. Didn’t happen, still turned out easy/farmable by the general population.
Gonna burst your bubble on this one here. The path people were complaining about in CoF did get nerfed. There are only 3 torches now not 5.

You gotta remember alliance chat also was between at most 10 guilds. Now granted plenty of players are in the larger guilds it still won’t mean that they’ll see it either because they may be repping another guild or something.

Why nerf it? BG has shown it can be done. It has not been 12 hours yet.
They killed it because they have more people, more organized than others. Does this call for a nerf? No. But, the fact that it takes this long and being more organized, does call for a nerf. Not a huge one either, but, the rewards do seem slim for how hard the event is.
Basically the reason no one does karka queen? To much work for such little reward.

It’s a bit of both. The timer honestly wouldn’t be that awful if it was 20 or 25 minutes. Given that organizing a bunch of randoms is darn near impossible.
Now that he has a daily chest and people are actually doing him is there a reason he doesn’t give dragonite ore like every other boss chest? Other easier bosses give dragonite ore give some except this boss.

Except on lyssa it doesn’t fail and all you have to do is retake the other 3 spots and just retry. But yes I do agree timers are bad for the game.
