It’s possible to not want to even be on the same map as someone you’ve blocked. It might be someone who is stalking you for example. If you look on the map and see they are in LA, you can go to another city.
I guess that’d be the only purpose unless you both have each other on ignore than you’ll both appear to be offline to each other unless you’re in the same guild and look at the roster.
So basically you want people to learn basic game mechanics and that wearing clerics gear is bad?
imokaywiththis
The fact so many people call clerics bad is not so much because the concept of healing is bad. Its that healing power just scales so horribly with the majority of heals in this game. Something that should be fixed but the balance issues brought about make that very difficult. That and they don’t want to create the “holy trinity”
Name one instance in the entire game where clerics gear is to go to gear choice.
YOU CAN’T
For general purpose pve zerkers is the preferred choice.
For structure bosses soldiers.
For wvw purposes zerker, soldiers, and knights are generally run the majority of the time.
It’s not just healing power scaling is bad, it’s that active defense in this game (dodging, blocks, side stepping etc etc) is your main defense. Clerics gear never will be a “meta” set regardless of what you’re doing. Unless you want to run a tanky healer in wvw and drop water fields than it won’t be useful for anything other than that.
lol this thread necro
On a somewhat relevant note you should be using hotkeys for your skills and aiming them with the mouse. Regardless if you have fastcast help on or not. I find it better for me to have the fast cast off because I’m constantly turning my screen and with fast cast on I’ll be hitting no one with my aoe skills.
What I don’t get is why I’m able to see where the people I’ve put on block list are in the game. That just takes the cake.
Doesn’t change the fact that rangers are well in the doghouse to put it lightly.
Ascended Trinkets are better than Ascended armor or weapon – they give you the most boost for the buck, as it were. I think they are fin the way they are.
Sure. If you don’t have all your accessory/jewelry slots already filled with ascended stuff the drops are great. I’m sure plenty of people would love them. But, like I said in my OP, I and many of my WvW-centric friends have all of our jewelry slots full of ascended trinkets. Between drops and previously buying them with laurels. In which case more ascended trinkets are as useful as grey vendor trash is.
If we can’t auction ,give to friends or salvage them (preferably for ascended mats to craft other gear or put on the BLTP) at least I think we should get more than 4s, 95c for them.
Other characters you have? – they don’t drop enough to make a huge difference.
My bank tab full of rings says otherwise buddy and this is after vendoring probably around 4 or 5 tabs of rings overall.
Crossbows were often used in sieges because they were easier to fire in close quarters combat. They were also instant to fire once it was loaded where a bowman has to draw the bow then take aim. Crossbowman just aims and fire’s then ducks behind cover to reload. In a siege fire rate doesn’t mean as much.
If you’re sieging aka attacking something than yes. If you’re defending against a siege bows were far superior because of the refire rate of which was capable. Especially when you’re firing at an arc over a wall. Now granted both had their place in warfare but bows were the superior option if you had men who could use them efficiently over a crossbow.
*Higher lethality on impact
*Much easier to learn a gun than a bow.And that was it. To become a skilled archer, capable of hitting a bullseye from a football field away, you’d have to have grown up and used your bow your whole life. You can get a similar performance out of a rifleman in a few weeks training. So while it takes a lifetime to make an archer, it takes a month to make a rifleman.
One of the reasons why crossbows were sort of mainly used for hunting than actual warfare. The bow was/is capable of firing more arrows than a crossbow.
Take 10 guys with a bow and then take 20 with crossbows give them 500 arrows each and see which side goes through those 500 arrows first. I’m 100% sure the bows will shoot all 500 first.
All assuming its your traditional crossbow.

There’s plenty of “Endgame” content:
1. Working for legendaries.
2. Making a name for yourself on your server through WvW and PvP (And now the game in general, with Megaservers)
3. Becoming a leader of PvE events or in WvW.
4. Keeping up with Living Story.
5. Making and running a guild.
This is not end game. This is just being social within the game or tedious bullcrap. PvP is completely separate from pve unless you want skins.
GW2 has almost no end game content (dungeons aren’t even worth considering to be end game).
I’d say fractals 40+ are about the only end game you have and those literally just became less tedious with the dredge fractal being made so easy you can do it with your eyes closed.
Grinding out a legendary isn’t even end game content I can do that sitting in frostgorge mindlessly killing champs all day….
So basically you want people to learn basic game mechanics and that wearing clerics gear is bad?
imokaywiththis
You can already do all the content in this game without them anyway. If anything they should remove it from WvW but leave it in pve. PvE is already a mindless enough as it is removing it from pve would just outrage the majority of the playerbase removing it from WvW wouldn’t anger many.
In Season 2 we’ll see the results of that silent period, I hope for the best, otherwise gain back the hopes of the players will be a really hard task.
You mean more zergfests that are populated for 2 days and then become a ghost town?
Living Story has been mostly nothing but zerg content and that’s bad for the game. Season 2 of living story won’t change it.
I’m going to go with innocent poster child for incompetent administration, though if she is removed from her position, evon better get to work on that abaddon fractal.
Also, she is very obviously a hero, she performed heroic actions, I don’t see her becoming an actual villian.
Everything ellen did she didn’t do. The players did and she just showed up and well claimed it all for herself like treehorn did in the personal story.
Gold sinks. Why do you think you now have to pay to start an event? Because Anet has no idea how to creatively handle gold in the economy other than “Pay me to access this content!”
It’s because gold is abundant and easily gained if you have a lvl80 and they took out one of their gold sinks? AC 1/3(3.5g) cof 1/2(2.5g) coe 1-3(3.6g) (all assuming you get the 20s and the once per day path chest) will net you easily almost 10g and that’s not even counting drops. Running these paths will take a good group at most an hour and a half or so.
Having a gold sink in the game is fine as long as it serves some kind of purpose.
Just did some testing of my own.
Stacking on land (with a bloodlust on UW weapon and land both superior) unequipping the stack weapon. Stacks removed.
Stacking in water with no bloodlust on land. Stacks remained when going to land.
Stacking in water then walking to land and equipping a bloodlust stack weapon will remove stacks.
Stacking on land walking into water stacks remained. Unequipping the UW wep removed stacks. Then stacking on land with no UW bloodlust equipped stacks were lost upon entering water.
Time to salvage and sell these sigils before people realize these changes are permanent if this is how they’re supposed to work now.

Champ boxes were never meant to be farmed. You don’t exactly make money doing the FGS train and well you never really made any real money to talk about doing the queensdale train, anyway unless you sat on a champ train for 6 hours a day for a month it was just more profitable to go and run the easiest dungeon paths once and go do something else.
So them nerfing the amount of gold the boxes gave (they’ve done it once (maybe twice) before actually before recently), the queensdale train being imploded to death by making all the events veterans basically has effectively derailed that zone and made it less toxic towards newer players. People mindlessly following another 50 people killing the same 7 enemies repeatedly is just toxic for a game considering the money you gained from it before all the nerfs to it.
Also queensdale has the name dramaqueensdale in my guild because it was basically “omg who killed oak?” or “WTF YOU SCRUB STOP KILLING CHAMPS OUT OF ORDER!” You saw these at least a few times a day…
You seem to forget that the cash-shop hurts the game meaning less players overtime.
Now that’s one hell of an assertion to throw out there without any supporting evidence. You have something demonstrable to show that the cash shop is hurting GW2?
I did give multiple examples. See the comment bellow it.
I see assertions. Nothing more.
Oh wait… there’s a tidbit of conspiracy theory in there.
It’s no assertion, it’s a fact that I do like the game less because of those examples. And with me others (thats also a fact as you can find multiple people on the forum saying such things). Now you could argue that all those things have nothing to do with the cash-shop focus. Without a cash-shop we would still have a gold-grind, mini’s would simply almost not exist and so on. But there is of course also something like common sense.
Not sure what part is conspiracy theory.. the marketing techniques?
Ah, you’re confusing something you don’t like with hurting the overall game. I see.
(s)He listed mounts not being introduced into the game as an argument. His entire argument is invalid simply because of that sentence I saw regarding mounts. MOUNTS WILL NOT HAPPEN WITH 15+ WAYPOINTS PER ZONE PEOPLE DEAL WITH IT.
If anything the way the cash-shop works in this game it’s probably one of the better ones. Granted that the watchwork pick gives an advantage over the other cash shop picks (for no reason) for the same cost of the molten alliance and bone pick given that they charged 1k gems for both of them at some point (yes the molten alliance pick only cost 800 gems at one point yadda yadda yadda).
Now read that sentence where I talked about mounts again. As I never said what you stated as proof that I was wrong. (and even if I had one statement that was wrong that would not mean other statements are wrong.. but that doesn’t matter now)
With your second paragrah you pretty much agree with me “If anything the way the cash-shop works in this game it’s probably one of the better ones.” You do see that with that line you agree in saying cash-shops do influence the game (in a negative way). By saying that GW2 at least is one of the better ones… So where the cash-shop influence the game the least or at least for your preferred game-play the least in a negative way.
You seem to be referring to P2W (with your example) as a negative but what is pay to win? It’s negative if it’s influence the game in any way. You basically say why it hurts you personally. But mini’s, skins and so on are just as much game-play for one as killing or farming is for somebody else. As you refer to the pick you might prefer farming. And even then, don’t you mind that everything is a gold-grind in stead of really faming for items and mats?
Oow and if mounts would ever be introduces I would also expect way-points (in new maps at least) to be reduced. But even if they didn’t that would not yet mean you could not introduce mounts just for fun (this being a game and all) Just for the record.
The only negative impact that the cash shop has inflicted upon this game was the watchwork pick. I have yet to see any other item that has negatively impacted the game other than the long standing bug with the copper fed which was finely fixed ages ago.
You seem to forget that the cash-shop hurts the game meaning less players overtime.

They are making sure the potatoe is served hot and with gravy on it. I mean by that that they won’t add guild halls without GvG, and they seem to want to refine GvG as much as possible and find the best idea and concept for it before releasing it.
I’d be really dissapointed if the guild halls and the Gvg were made too quick.
Then they’ll come out and say that the way people are playing GvG isn’t how they wanted it to be played out and then will nerf pointless crap that had no reason to be nerfed outside of gimmicks. Or they’ll just say “you guys aren’t playing the way we wanted you to play this game mode”
Or how about the boss timers have more than one boss at a time so that EVERYONE isn’t trying to do this one boss right then. Spreading out the zerg across 3 or 4 bosses would take care of a lot of the complaints.
This would slightly help mask the problem. Doesn’t change the fact that shadow behemoth spawns a jillion times during the day.
would have happened with the old system just as well. I don´t see how map instance+1 is any worse than old overflow.
Except with the old system you could do 2/3/4 world bosses in the time it takes for the next boss to come up and it didn’t take 6 hours to do every world boss.
I’ve hardly gotten it for the past couple weeks. Did 20, 30, 38 and 49 yesterday and didn’t get it once. I think the roll percentage of dredge has been drastically reduced.
Yeah no… Last few times I’ve done dredge the past few weeks it’s been dredge every time on the third.
I loaded up Guild Wars 1 last night and went back through my old Guild Hall again. I could still remember some of the figures my guild had there during the first game.
Another option for PvP that I miss greatly was the Hall of Heroes. This feature alone kept me playing Guild Wars for a long, long time. The amount of variety and fun we had during these matches were unbelievable.
sPvP and WvW are nice, and I would not want these features removed. But sometimes I miss what we had in the first game.
I think adding these two features will add a lot to the game.
They don’t want to add to many forms of pvp because it’ll split the playerbase to thin and some game formats will become dead. Needless to say don’t expect it.
I agree that GvG and/or halls/tombs/hoh/whatever you wanna call it should come back but it’s well just not gonna happen.
End game content. There is a lack of end game content in gw2 and people have come to realize it. And no ascended gear is not end game content. It’s grinding for slightly superior gear which has such a minimal effect that you wouldn’t notice it if you were missing 1/2 pieces.
Seriously anyone saying mounts or something equally as stupid need to go back to WoW.
Lorewise, dervish is a no-no. All of their magical power came from prayers to the human gods, that creates a way too big of a conflict to retcon to make space for dervishes of other races.
Also, dervish didn’t use light armor, they used medium.
Hello my friend you are mistaken, it does not use medium uses light to image looks
Membership in this Robe = light
Ummmm. You’re mistaken buddy. Dervishes used medium armor in gw1. Why do you think you have 70 armor and not a base of 60? In gw1 armor classes were Heavy – 80, medium – 70, light – 60 for base values. Insignias/runes could add or take away armor but yeah.
completely unrelated note- those runes and insignias being used there are completely terrible and not viable. 485 hp assuming you’re using those runes/insignias on your open slots on a dervish you have I believe 2 superior runes (not counting vigor runes) on which is suicidal. Based on the skills I’d say superior mysticism and scythe mastery. If it’s not 2 superiors its a superior and a major rune.

Hi,
I haven’t played this game in quite some time and last i played, the ranger was very underwhelming in group play and the pet was very wonky……
Kind of want to start playing again but can anyone tell me if the ranger is still bottom of the barrel in terms of class strength and group viability?
I know there is a game notes section, but that’s a lot of reading to skim through to see what all has changed…. i noticed some changes to traits and pet commands and stuff. Has it made a difference to the ranger class?
No. Ranger is still bottom of the barrel.
Would just drive the price up on the look a like items and not solve the problem of an out of control game economy.
I bought one that I only use for 2 purposes:
1. I use it when running with the champ trains when no other commander has theirs up so people can see where the train is instead of having to ask in map chat. I don’t bark orders. I’m just a beacon.
.
They still ask. Seriously.
Also thisthreadagain.
If only the dust/ore/fragments were trade-able. They wouldn’t be worth much but they’d be worth something.
It’s the way content is being designed. Bosses that 1 shot you regardless of armor/toughness and hp. Conditions being capped hinders bringing more than 1 condi based build per party.
It’s a problem with the game design not a problem with the player base just figuring out how to run -x- as fast as possible. Also just to note berserker gear was considered suicidal at one point at the start of the game.
How were dungeons nerfed? The dungeon change happened forever and a half ago soo that’s not even an issue. ac 1/3 coe 1-3 gives you like 8 gold in just money + whatever drops.
If you’re spending over 1/2 gold a day on waypoints you’re either dying a crap ton and waypointing or you waypoint around the map for no reason.
When you see a tagged player you know they’re experienced, and know what they’re doing. For players who don’t know events like the back of their hand, tagged players become beacons.
Not necessarily true on the experienced part. I know a few players who bought a tag/had someone buy it for them just to have it and are well just completely clueless when it comes to pretty much anything regarding events/missions/champ train/any thing that requires doing it a few times.
Hi, we all paid to beta test for the chinese market. How do you feel?
They’re making it harder and harder to make money outside of stupidly great RNG and spamming dungeon paths all day. The TP can be played on a lvl1 character where as speed clearing the dungeons more or less requires you to have a lvl80 in at least full exotics.
There would be 4/5 skills that would be so stupidly broken if you weren’t using any combination of them you’d get kicked from groups.
If anything they need to actually add skills to the classes and not just claim to have added new skills, when in all reality all they did was add 1 basic healing skill and 1 class specific healing skill. Which if you want to nitpick is technically adding new skills but a pretty kitten poor attempt to do it.
Tags are quite handy for some high level events, tequatl and tree headed wurm, other than that it is most for people who dont get enough attention in real life and dont want to tag down, sad when you think about it
Regarding the train: This is in opinion the worts thing about the game, it robs people of the ability to think for themself and lock in a zombie like state, and they cant understand why they get butchered when they come high level events where minimal thinking is required.
Also with these new MegaSavingServer there are trains on every map, was quite happy that on Underworld there was only the Queensdale Fail Train, before this new server thing. This robs us people who did not like to run into a zerg whenever we turned a corner of our pleassure in the game, and the whole reason for bringing people into the maps are quite silly, if people liked packed map they could transfer to high populated train servers, no need to force this upon us who hate trains.
Not like it matters anyway. The champ trains give crap for money now and you make like 1/2 silver per box+event after you sell the items from the box.
If anything the only way to make a profit from champ train is to have stupidly good luck from champ boxes and get the exotics (all be it most of them aren’t more than a few gold) out of them to sell on the TP.
In gw1 I had 1 male character and 6 female characters for pve and 1 character for pvp (which was most of the time rolled as a female anyway).
I’m a male and call me a stereotypical person but I find warrior to be a manly profession/class just my opinion. Not to mention I find that heavy armor is pretty bulky and what else other than A MAN (or male beast in the case of gw2) to wear that heavy plate armor.
Also I prefer to play dress up with light/medium armors on female characters because they seem to have the most difference in them then heavy/plate armors. In gw1 my warrior was male and has 2 different sets of armor. My mesmer (female) has 7 or 8 and my other characters have 2 sets. Needless to say I find playing dress up on females to be more fun.

Because historical weapons dont have the visual impact players want.
Mistforged Heroes Mace
The obvious shinyness/ornateness aside (unless we’re talking decorative pieces from the times they were used) of course it’s a pretty historical looking weapon.
The Heroes weapons (that you get from WvW at the end of the season with tickets) look somewhat realistic.
It’s 12 keys you need. That one is a colossal pain as is trolls end in lions arch on large charr and norn.
Ignoring obvious pro’s and cons of the megaserver. I’m a fan of it. But some of it is just infuriating to deal with. Especially for guild missions and what not.
Dervish didn’t wear cloth armor but medium armor. They had the same base armor (assuming you had max armor) with assassins and rangers.
It’s not really a staff.
Well, same goes for Lawless armor.
Yet on the skin itself it says staff under the scythe part. Also Final Rest doesn’t look like a staff it looks like a scythe depending on the angles you look at it from.
There’s all sorts of stuff that look like something else.
It’s a staff skin. I assume there is some way to acquire the skin outside of PvP.
Hate to break it to you but before they even touched the trains t5 and 6 mats were already up in price. Also charged cores going up to 1g again is not new. They’ve gone all the way up to 1.5g before they crashed back down.
Well I’ll no longer be the only LA map chat troll when they bring LA back.
Guess I’ll have to go to WvW to reclaim my title of map chat troll of yaks bend.
berserker stance and endure pain congrats you don’t even need a healing skill and warriors are now unkillable by any means.
If you mean make your own stat combination – no.
If you mean pick from the stat combinations that we have currently – yes.
There may come a time at which ANet gives us this option or a poll and the most voted gets made (most likely) or some competition where the winner gets to make a stat combo.
IMO they should change signet of inspirations passive to 25% move speed or signet of midnights passive to it and leave the actives the same. Just my thoughts but hey.
Also 25% move speed isn’t just a feature just known to traveler’s runes. It’s just the other bonuses on the traveler runes aren’t as dumb.
Holy crap.
The pure amount of character customization is insaneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
