Warrior in wvw in trouble

Travis the Terrible.4739

I’m saying that as a WvW veteran and as a Warrior main- The truth is that is no reason to bring more than 1~2 warriors per zerg, and these 2 warriors are there for 1 skill only- Warbanner . There is nothing else that makes bringing a warrior worthy over any other class.

This man has spoken the truth, all of your utilities are taken up just for you to live and that’s hoping 1 of them isn’t stripped in half a second by the half a bajillion necros out there.

WvW suffers from the problem known as the “condi it till it dies” meta and warrior just doesn’t fit well enough into groups with support, damage and survivalbility all thrown into 1 build.

The warrior in wvw is essentially a scout/roamer at this point because of this. Unless a nerf happens to this stale wvw deathball condi meta the warrior is basically relegated to small scale (10 people at most) battles, and even then other classes do it better because of built in support or way higher burst damage. Honestly 1 of the biggest nerfs to wvw warrior was the Eternal Champion nerf. You almost didn’t even need to take a second stability because of the trait before the nerf. Even with all the boon strip before nerf you could easily get away without balanced or dolyak signet in a lot of fights.

Basically stick to roaming and small groups or you’re gonna have a bad time in wvw on warrior.

again… lol you could be an Ele lol… all we ever really get is beaten about the head and shoulders with the Nerf Bat

Seriously? Even if it wasn’t the changes you wanted, Ele got almost exclusively buffs in this patch. The only nerf was that Air Overload dmg was reduced by a whopping 7%, and that was justified. Literally everything else was a buff to eles.

All the buff Ele got are useless even if in the right direction, but you Will never see a single Ele going Dagger offhand in pvp.
Air overload isn’t even the worst Nerf, the CD added to Meteor shower seems an huge Nerf, but to be honest have to test that.
But I’m Pretty sure the 2 Nerf togheter killed staff fresh air.
I dont know for other pve metabuild

Not sure if serious or not. Air overload was only nerfed in pve.

Can we complain about the real problem that epidemic wasnt nerfed into the ground.

But seriously the fact that the only real nerfs for ele were a met shower nerf, and a slight pve nerf thats just silly.

Wvw players are stuck with this horsecrap condi meta fkr another 12 months.

Definitely a bug. I can’t imagine this is intended behavior.

Considering it’s taking cast time into it and not the animation not a bug.

Quickness has always made your leaps/runs/movement based non-blink skills go less distance because the cast time was shortened.

Assuming this holds true in the opposite fashion then slowness should make these same skills go further.

Get to level 80. It’s easy, just hop onto eotm and level or do it the old slow way through hearts/open events in maps. Its easier now with megaservers.

Once you’re 80, get to silver wastes. Endgame. Camp there until HoT releases. You should be very rich by then. Easy farming, easy gold.

Silver waste end game? Yeah no…

As for the OP they were considered “cancerous to new players and provided a bad environment” (looking at you queensdale) so they more or less killed champ trains.

I also dont understand, for the first time we have build diversity, and they`re already nerfing it, guess they want the old meta to stay.

Build diversity actually implies that all builds are viable, running a non condi based build is now completely pointless because of how they work now. In 5 man groups you’re not going to cap out 1500 stacks.

Scrolls of knowledge will be going away; they’ll be turned into a currency for the Mystic Forge. Tomes of Knowledge, as far as we know, are not changing.

Scrolls aren’t going away. Skill Points are. So if you use a Scroll of Knowledge, which are still probably going to be a thing unless they make a replacement for them (and thus make them effectively still in the game), you’ll get a token to buy all of the Mystic Forge stuffs.

Tomes, on the other hand, are likely going to change to not give you a level at 80 so that they don’t interfere with the new Mastery System (there have been several things that have shown this change to be real, but no official confirmation at this point). They, however, will still be in the game.

People seem to think ToK give out skill points on top of the exp to level. This is not the case. Also, ToK only give exp. Mastery’s will work different to that. From what I understand you have to do specific things to advance it. What they are ANet have not said

Well when you level up you gain a skillpoint.

Dumb change to help bring condi builds to pve and help nerf berserker tbh. Depending on your class you’re getting anywhere from 200 to 300 extra power, ferocity, and precision.

All this change is going to do is make zerker groups 5 seconds longer, and just seperate the difference between good and bad players. Theyre just widening the gap.

The ridiculous imbalance between T7 mats

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Travis the Terrible.4739

As someone sitting on a mass of gold this thread is just pitiful. Honestly if you want to craft your ascended armor do it now, its not going to get cheaper or easier.

You people advocating the cost of damask to drop to the price of the other of leather and metal need to look at the thing that is required in EVERY set of armor. Cloth is required for every armor weight.

The underlying problem with damask is that every armor weight needs at least 24 (medium only tales 24 iirc) and the rate at which linen, cotton, and wool drop is pathetic.

Take my advice, farm gold and just buy your materials it will take you far less time. Not like gold is insanely hard to come by either. I mean Ive made 85g this week without doing dungeons and all Ive done is sell t6 mats from laurels, tequatle, and a few world bosses and wvw. Seriously those of you complaining about prices are hoarding everything or just buying a bunch of garbage with your gold you dont need.

[Suggestion] Ascended armor stat reselect

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Travis the Terrible.4739

Travis the Terrible.4739

It’s a nice idea but probably won’t happen. I think you are meant to just pass that armour onto an alt and make a new one if you need new stats.

And i don’t even want to talk about making legendary an armour type.

I say leave as is. The only frustrating thing is when they change how stats work or nerf a class so that you HAVE to change. That’s happened a few times with me, it sucks.

Speak for yourself not others I can craft an entire light armor set this instant and still have tons of money left over as well as extra materials.

The stat gain from exotic to ascended is so minute its a moot point. If youre “playing on a budget” weapons will always do more for you simply because of the base damage increase. So pointless.

The only people abusing stow-whip were people who were already dumping on everyone anyway. You can thank the one guy for the way fgs 4, fire staff 4, and fire dagger 3 work now for dumping all over the npcs in pvp with the burning tracks.

We’ll get back at the Charr for what they did.

taking back what was rightfully theirs? all your puny race could do they have already done. if a massive suicide attack is your best than the feline magnificence has nothing to fear.

If you knew your Guild Wars history you’d know that the land was never theirs. The Charr came from the Northern areas and spread south taking over the land that belonged to the Grawl which were the original race that inhabited that region. They enslaved the Grawl and took the land for themselves.

They weren’t there originally.

Later the humans came and took the land from the Charr pushing them back north.

So if the Charr can push, conquer and call it "Charr land " then by the same rules the humans pushing back the Charr and conquering the area makes it “Human land”.

Also you owe a lot to humans. Don’t forget it was humans who were crucial to your race being set free from their “false gods” and the leadership of the Flame Legion shamans.

No, it means by the same logic if the grawl had risen up and attacked the charr with armies (and tactics I.e. searing) we would be defending their right to do so… Just like we defend the charr.

Charr being set free is almost as beneficial to the Humans as it was to the charr. If the charr still accepted false gods it would likely mean zhaitan would still be alive.

Trying to spin this around – but we hardly knew of the elder dragons when the movement started by Pyre Fierceshot took place.

Then explain the great destroyer?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Travis the Terrible.4739

They had something like this in GW1, it was the final test before becoming Ascended. The doppleganger had health, energy and other stats based on your profession and all the same skills you had on your bar.

Unfortunately the AI wasn’t really up to the task and there were a number of ways to ‘trick’ it. For example if you were playing a ranger you could just equip lots of spirits which, in GW1, affected both enemies and allies equally and had quite long cast times. So the doppleganger would spend time summoning spirits that helped you too, while you could get on with killing it.

Admittedly that was made about 10 years ago, and AI has moved on since then, but I still don’t think it’s up to being able to use any build as well as a real person. It’s probably possible to program AI to use one build just like a person, but not every possible combination in GW2.

Doppelganger couldnt use pve only skills. But if youre talking about before pve skills fun times coming up with a way to beat him especially for monk.

Zerker not going to be meta for Revenant?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Travis the Terrible.4739

Travis the Terrible.4739

“Meta” is more about what utilities and traits you bring, not what gear you choose. For general purpose PvE and especially for instanced PvE, everything including the Revenant will always use the highest DPS gear, which at this point is Berserker. Any support or control style skills the Revenant ends up using in the meta will be independent of that.

Yes and no. Gear plays a big roll in how much damage youll do. Youre not gonna run your typical 6/5/0/0/3 warrior build with magis gear and expect to deal anywhere near the same damage cause you wont.

With this said depending on how the revenant plays and how condi stacks work the highest dps might be rabid for all we know.

Sugg: Fix banners so others can't take them

in Warrior

If youre in open world solo you should be using signets anyway unless youre doing tequatl, in which case no one is running off with banners. If youre running a banner regen build for pve for purposes of keeping yourself alive the question becomes why are you running banner regen in pve.

In my experiences with banners in open world people will generally leave them unless they feel like trolling. As for dungeons people generally grab 1 and take it to the next stack spot if youre running double banner leaving you to take the other banner. As for fractals most of the time you only ever drop the banners out of the way but close enough to fight bosses unless youre doing the one where you free dr. Manhattan.

A lot of people dont even know banner 5 is a blast finisher.
