I like the weapons, but I’m kinda confused on why you would utilize conditions when you have a sword/horn combo. Both those weapons are better off power weapons. Also in my opinion short now would works so much better with condition duration because of its constant bleed when attacking from the side or the back. The axe torch just doesn’t have that much potential.

Axe/Torch is so much better than Shortbow IMO. Yeah you’re not pecking your target non-stop, but with axe/torch you do so much more damage.

Some roaming from the other day. lol at the necro that wouldn’t stop following us around to get killed. Also, what’s with most of you Yak/SoS roaming around full zerker?

I should start a new thread complaining about not getting damage credit when you spread some of my conditions. That’s what the forums are for right? People to complai…. I mean post good ideas?

First fight is with a condition warrior, but after that rest of video is with Rennoko. In our first fight he gets an awesome epi and downs a 2nd player almost instantly. Wish I got to see those numbers fly off him.

Some footage from roaming yesterday. I always love seeing Bronze Invaders* outside of a zerg, you know they’re going to be easy to kill.

Roaming is the best part about WvW. Finding those 1-2vX or 3v6 (like in the video) fights and winning or losing because you gave it your all. That’s where the real fun is.

BM works just fine against a necro. It does require you to actually know how to play your ranger though and not just survive off of your build.

I’m new to this game and I was wondering if anyone knows if there is an online guide for what level requirements are for which dungeons and how the fractals work.

I have a level 40 guardian and I see posts on the LFG website for fractals at my level but when i get invited I get kicked cuz i don’t know wtf is going on. I see things like “Self Invite” or AR or for dungeons path 1, path 2, etc….and it’s really confusing.

I was hoping someone could help me find a guide that explains all this because it’s starting to get frustrating not being able to join anything.

The ‘perfect comp’ is just what each guild runs normally in WvW, each guild is a little different on Maguuma. They don’t change much to GvG. GvG’s are just set up so you can fight on even terms, no running away, no AC’s, no towers, nothing other than player v player.

However, if you need the extra help from field advantage I can see why you’re scared.

I think it’s a good plan to put earth sigil on your axe because the bonfire will also proc the bleed and geomancy on your sword dagger combo. I’ll probably put geomancy on both and earth on the axe/torch combo and corruption on my sword/dagger. Although it’s annoying that’ll have to switch weapons to get a corruption stack on kill…

Take 5 mins to get 25 stacks before you start roaming or whatever it is you do. Make it faster by have 2 weapons with corruption on them.

Just did a little roaming last night and don’t normally run wolf, I like drakes for dps on downed enemies, but it saved my life in the last fight in this video.

I was dissapointed that the main kitten commander wasnt around this reset. You guys are a real challenge and you tought [RET] a LOT last time we faced you. There weren’t other zergs our size so we split into 2 groups of 15 to make it a bit more interesting.

BTW Maguumans stop spreading out and rolling glass cannon staff eles its so annoying! :P

If you actually did split your group for more even number fights, mad props to you and your crew. I have NEVER seen it happen before since game came out. Fight clubs are only time I seen that sort of thing.

Splitting a large raid up to achieve multiple objectives is not that revolutionary of an idea…

On GvG I really can’t wait until it becomes more GvG instead of ZvZ. I mean yest there is a little skill in GvG now but when teams are 8-15 as opposed to 20-30 individual skills shine and tactics become huge.

I actually prefer the larger scale, anything under 10v10 and staff becomes near worthless. Staff Ele just doesn’t do well in small group combat or 1v1.

If you want small skirmish stuff of 5v5 and 8v8, that’s what sPvP/tPvP are for.

Heh, no. 5v5’s happen all the time in WvW and saying they’re only for sPvP/tPvP is being ignorant and ignoring a huge part of the game when it comes to skill. The smaller the amount of players the more you notice if someone is messing up. With a 20v20 fight, 18 people could probably do all the work and still win with 2 people being complete noobs.

5v5 gvg in a wvw setting is going to have similar problems with lineup balancing that sPvP and tPvP do.

In 10+ or larger scale fights, classes or setups that are pretty much useless in small scale fights become valuable. Staff Necros and Eles, Warriors, etc.

In a smaller scale fight, those builds are at best mediocre, and more likely to be pretty much worthless.

So no, simply lowering the number of fighters doesn’t just show more emphasis on individual player skill, it also completely changes the metagame for builds.

it definitely does show more individual skill, i dont see how anyone can argue this. it almost has to be true by definition.

the fact that different classes and builds become more and less effective as the fights get smaller doesn’t have any correlation to the amount of skill required. i dont even know why you brought it up.

its fine that you prefer larger organized fights, but it’s crazy to suggest that individual skill doesn’t play a bigger role in smaller fights.

Also if you don’t have a few different builds for each of your classes, you’re doing it wrong. Half of my bags are filled with different sets of gear/weapons.

Hey, my ranger build is full apothecary gear with 10/0/30/10/20. Traits III, III – VII – XI, III, V – VII. Dwayna runes on the armor. Weapons sword/dagger with axe/torch. I use Sigil of Corruption for stacks then switch to Sigil of Battle on both main-hand weapons and Sigil of Agony on off-hand.

Utilities are Troll Unguent, Signets of the Hunt, Renewal, and Wild with elite as Spirit of Nature for the active ability to revive down allies.

The food I use is cheap crystals with veggie pizzas, sometimes mango pies.

Which part? Because, when I’m roaming you guys always run away if it’s a 1v1 fight and only stay if it’s 2v1 or better odds.

Why TC, you too SoS, do you have to fight with greater numbers? 90% of Mags will see a 1v1 fight and just watch and wait until the end to tag the player. You guys have to have 2+ to even engage in the fight.

With the warrior I called my pet back to me with f3 then when the warrior closed the gap I told the pet to attack and then hit f2 and turned around to fight, trying to make sure warrior stayed in range for the drakes attack.

With the mesmer I just waited until he was in front of the drake and hit f2 and hoped he didn’t run behind it haha

I swapped pets and used insect swarm on the warrior while she was down. I was going to turn around but then she vengeanced. My back towards them doesn’t matter.
