You probably need to go S/F because the /D will get you killed if you get close to the engi.

So I was just now doing a match with some randoms, and midgame we were all kicked out of it to the mists and the match just restarted from the begining with the same people and on the same teams for no aparent reason.

I get you don’t enjoy this for whatever reason. But that doesn’t mean you have the rights to define the rules. PvP means players vs player. Each map have specifics you have to learn to deal with.

1-You can dodge atacks that you can’t possibly now when they hit? You are really a boss.
2- Not really in the state of the game, they hardcounter you and that’s pretty much it.
3- Counter to immunities, wow you must be REALLY good.
4- Pvp Should be about outplaying you opponent with skill not being able to play a kittened overpowered spec and win due to balance issues.

The patch wasn’t made for spvpers in mind, so you will never get the rewards corresponding to the time you wasted in spvp, but any changes are better than that crap we had before.
So basically it’s better than nothing
From a purely devil’s advocate point of view, how is it better? The reward tracks now give us 3 weapons and 1 armor skin with some mats (if you’re a pure PvPer, you probably won’t have use for anyway). Now, we used to be able to win a tournament match and get a chest which contained skins, earn glory to spend on skins, craft skins with PvP materials and so on. Now we get rewards at a much slower rate and everything is with PvE in mind, sort of counter-productive to PvP no? In effect, we’ve been given considerably less, so no, it’s not better than nothing.
Well the only thing you ever got was basically a few silver because you would eventually craft all the skins you could/want at the rank you were, taking you an eternity to get the skins I thought were cool (cultural etc). And a headache because " balance".
Now they have a bigger population for pvp so they can’t actually ignore it for 6 months straight (or I hope). And you get more kitten that can get you to do pve (eww I know).

PvE heroes should earn their skins such as legendary in PvP. All the players that are exclusively playing PvP gets nothing. As of now I spent a nice chunk of time got to rank 57 pre patch and in return now I have to spend transmutation charges to even put a piece of skin on.
You should have received at least 57 transmutation charges for free so I don’t see how that can present a problem.

Bad in PvE? For example when you do not get accepted in a dungeon party cuz you’re a necro. They are actually worse in PvE than the other classes also due to the max condi stacking etc. Further more I am not talking about MM necro’s, lots of necro’s do not play that build. MM necro’s are for certain classes easy to kill such as other necro’s, mesmers and ele’s. Their power IS their minions, so just destroy their minions first and they are doomed to die.
Unless they ask for a specific class/set I never seen that happen, it’s pve no one cares besides those tryhards (wich you wouldnt want to party anyway).
No one has time to kill all the minions + the necro and live, it’s a brain dead spec which shouldnt be even considered in spvp (really AI doing the work for you?) but since it gets the job done well enough, less capable people are bound to play it.

The only thing “toxic” here are QQers, specifically elementelist QQers, glass eles can do the same numbers but they can do it to 5 players at once, they can cover the whole point with their AoE.

Yeah I love the hiding the ranks of people at the end just to avoid the threads in the forum xD, the last patch was made to bait pve players into spvp, now you have to wait for a good matchmaking system
Was anyone expecting that new worthless for spvp grandmaster traits would give warriors new builds when warriors are still forced to invest 20 points in defense. AFAIK SPVP didn’t change at all for the warriors. Only things that changed were PVE.

The rewards are more than enough, if you’re playing PvP you’re supposed to do it for fun, getting rewards (about one reward per game, that’s a lot!) is just a bonus and some incentive for people to try PvP out in the first place

No, they didn’t get the shaft. It is just completely irrational in my opinion, to conclude that a zerker build should trump a condition build.
Why would you expect a build focused on damage, meaning with traits/skills built for DPS and not cleansing, while sacrificing all the health pool for DPS…….It is extremely simple minded in my opinion to assume that the three main meta builds are the only ways to go. Actually, I think building to the meta is sure indicator of a lack if skill and originality in a player. Heck, half the time if you use unique builds or builds outside of the meta, all of the meta band wagoners do not have the slightest clue how to react when they encounter you. Thus making their death relatively uncomplicated to bring to passing for them.
The problem isn’t zerkers, bunker, or condition builds, the problem is that there are enough players in the community that are stupid enough to think those are the only three build styles, or that following the meta means something. Got to love folks who actually think jumping off a bridge is the right thing to do, simply because every other clown is doing it.
Gee there sure are lot’s of game modes for all that diversity, the games aren’t totally based around keeping bunkers on points and having an OP solo class with bunker capabilities (coff engi) to get the far node, people go for most effective builds for the job not “it’s not that bad , it works sometimes”…

I run a support guardian with a build designed ENTIRELY to cleanse conditions.
Ironically I can face multiple berserkers at the time but a single proper terrormancer will make me kitten bricks.
Thats the way it should be ideally.

In my opinion there are three things going on:
1. Experienced players are experimenting with new builds.
2. Lots of new PvE players are trying PvP for the first time.
3. All of the other classes have had various nerfs which in turn brought Ele up.

I can live without 30 in arcane, I went 30 in water and 10 in arcane and 30 in air, using the glyph of renewal for the speed buff and for the extra condi removal in water from the regen, plus you get extra toughness and healing which is pretty good.
I don’t miss the on swap atunement buffs and I can switch to water get and not waste a dodge to activate evasive arcana for the heal.
Actually interrupting something meaningfull is quite hard in this game since there aren’t any cast bars, plus all the chaos effect from particles and all that, so using them “randomly” is the only way to play them
Since I have actually seen my dragon tooth hit in spvp, I stoped beliving in the buffs and realised im playing against bads, other than that, still get wrecked by the same classes like before.
They can learn it all if they all played in the same “league”/ranks, not getting paired up with everyone who isnt anymore at that “discovery”/learning point in spvp
At least im not the only one having trouble with condis on my ele that is build to counter them. But yeah I pretty much agree with everything, it still doesn’t promote active/skillfull play or at least timing it’s just “I hardcounter you so leave point and deal with it”
It’s ugly, let the people make money selling it

Easy fix for this, team up with people you know are good players, go to tourneys and enjoy the wins

Basically people being people, I mean “toxic” it’s team play oriented and the newbies dont want/care about being good and try to win, they just try to kill (and fail) other players and not ressing downed mates etc…
The problem is that you depend so much on your team-mates to win, it gets frustrating, seeing people just going randomly killing people off point and zerging to w/e they feel like, trying to cap with you when there is no one around (no it doesn’t cap any faster), losing outnumbered fights when they have the number advantage etc..etc….
All this in solo Q, not even hotjoin
