MM is the most braindead build in PVP. You dont need to wear any armor to beat someone in a 1v1 battle. You must be really stupid to get beaten 1v1 if youre playing MM even a warrior has no chance.

what it takes for an MM to kill 1v1 is to cc and let the minions swarm the enemy and that enemy is done for. a mm can deal 2 immobilize skills (dagger 2 and minion active attack) . if one cc misses then he has another one. once an enemy got cc’d his hp will be depleted in no time like a trapped rat.

heck if youre really good, you can even beat an enemy without him touching you.

MM is an easy spec to play. How can it be a hard spec when you can have insane dps, decent condition damage, tankiness, high hp and an army of ai’s around you? i dont get it why these people are still defending this build.

I can’t see zerker ranger because a bad build doesn’t make it high skill. I guess 14-14-14-14-14 is high skill because it is hard to kill anything, but I doubt that is what the OP is getting at.

its not a bad build. it has potential 1v1. a zerker ranger can beat bunker guardians and engi’s 1v1 if played well. fighting a thief on a glass cannon ranger involves timing the right skills to down the thief before it stealths.

zerker ranger is not an easy build to play. it might be harder to play than zerker thieves and mesmers . mesmers and thieves have more access to stealth that can save them a lot. a ranger only has 3 sec of stealth.

Beastmaster has more potential in 1v1. After the nerf, spirit ranger lost some of its strength in 1v1 but its still the best build for team support because of the elite spirit.

im not a pro but i did play MM, dps spirit ranger, condi bunker spirit ranger, trap ranger, BM, zerker ranger, mantra mesmer, PU, phantasm, hambow, and ele. amongst them, i find MM the easiest to play in PVP. im not gonna say its braindead but its still easy.

I beat 2 stun lock warriors the other day by myself on mine point Sunday. To be fair, they didn’t use a lot of conditions…. just kept swinging with a hammer lol so I did the same XD

i did that too on my spirit ranger but both warriors were rank 1. they were both from my guild and i was only helping them on how to duel as warriors in pvp. it’s good that some people from wvw are taking interest in pvp.

i play my MM in hotjoins naked. i still get to beat people there 1v1.

this guy is a genius. i wish i have the same literary skills as his.

you can play a spirit ranger, guardian and necro. probably a guardian will be best. it helps if you can play multiple professions if you wanna solo q in team arena.

i dont like playing MM and i hate playing spirit ranger. maybe im not that good because i just couldnt make my zerker ranger useful for tpvp. winning battles with braindead specs is only fun for a short while. it gets old really fast.

i use a 30 30 0 10 0 build with zerker amulet and ranger runes with signet of the wild and stone. i use longbow for maximum range dps and i use quickening zephyr on my shortbow auto attack for burst damage.

why can i can kill=l other players 1v1 naked on my necro then? am i too good? because i believe im not. i use a laptop and keys are really bad.

what about MM’s, spirit rangers, and condi engi’s? lol

tpvp is infested of meta builds and if you’re playing a dps build people will call you names in soloq. thats why i spend most of my pvp time in hotjoins. more fun to play the build you really enjoy with no pressure.

i remember i made the same post last year but everyone just laughed. now i play an MM myself. if you cant beat em, join em. lol

seriously, a good MM is unbeatable 1v1. the other player should be highly skilled to beat you.

Well, not really. If said Spirit Ranger is using SB then they its just passive auto attack spamming with the occasional 2 and 4 button press. So, no not much skill. If said Spirit Ranger is all melee, then yeah a little more skill and timing involved with the built in evades through many of the melee attacks.

Of course, in the end, just about all Spirit Rangers are maximizing defense and condi damage, which, in the end, is passive damage, so, apply condi and kite…again, no skill.

Regardless, that’s the meta we play in.

a ranger needs to flank to stack bleed that’s why rangers tend to evade a lot when you’re fighting them 1v1. flanking takes skill and it takes time to master it.

I still haven’t fought a skilled mesmer tho, can someone tell me how it fairs? I was thinking longbow 3 stealth for safetly setting up a barrage would be amazing for clearing clones/illusions.

in pvp, i dont think a power ranger has a chance against a mesmer and if its PU mesmer just dont hope. each clone you kill deals condition damage on you and a power ranger really has no condition removal (you just cannot use healing spring when you’re running this buid. its too risky). there’s no room for mistake and most of the times the real mesmer is on stealth and all you’ll be fighting are the clones.

30/30/10 full berserker is only for zerg play kitten ing around from 1.5k range.

i’m using 30 30 0 10 0 traits. berserker ammy, double bow, runes of the ranger and sigil of superior battle. i also used signet of the hunt and stone and quickening zephyr. pets i used were stalker and lynx. ive won duels vs engineers, guardians and thieves but i’m not sure if they were really good because i just found them at pvp duel arenas.

problem with thieves is that if they didnt kill the enemies fast enough their teammates will die. thieves dont get focused because they fight in and out of stealth. i dont think having three thieves in 1 team is good. 1 thief is enough.

some power rangers can beat engi’s too and it doesnt matter what build that they use. :P

MM is unbeatable 1v1 if the MM knows how to manage his minions and use his cc’s really well. i play my MM in tourneys and in hotjoins and when i play it in hotjoins i play it naked and i even know other MM’s who know how to use this build better.

i use lb/sb on my glassy ranger and it’s doing a really good job killing thieves, guardians, and engi’s 1v1. qz is strong if you use with crossfire.

a power ranger owns a bunker guardian 1v1. too bad power rangers arent viable in tpvp.

Its funny because even a staff elementalist doing the same dps as a power ranger, but AoE, while providing waterfields he can blast himself up to 4 times , AoE frostarmors , AoE CC´s still isnt viable for high tpvp play….

Ranger is in a bad place atm, saying “i can beat random guys 1v1” doesnt reflect the state of the ranger at all, there are power builds for superior in terms utility while doing similar dps , that still arent viable vs competent opponents. Some random 1v1´s dont say anything about actualy balance or teamplay, a ranger if he isnt traited for spirits, doesnt provide anything to his team outside of a waterfield on 30 sec cd…
Ontop of that the pet AI still behaves horrible with a plethora of pathing issues.
There are so many problems with rangers at the moment its not even funny.

As it stands rangers just get outclassed by about anything in this game due to their relyance on pets. Trap ranger? why not bring a necro? Longbow Ranger? Why not bring a Mesmer/staff ele/Rifle warrior? shoutregen ranger? why not get a bunker engi or guard? All those are more effective, the only realy good build , or better said competive build, they are left with is a passive AI build and that leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. They could buff longbow damage by 50% on all abilities and it still wouldnt change a thing in high lvl tpvp, rangers are in dire need of a complete rework, as they are now they are just a hollow shell of the once great gw1 ranger.

Rangers are outclassed by almost anything and their design is horribly flawed atm.

Yet they are still OP, and are seeing too much play. Warriors got nerfed too, and are still OP. Mindless cheese specs that a noob can play well in HIGH level tourney play. i only play my power ranger if the other ranger is playing a spirit build and also if there are too many spikers on the team already (thieves, eles and mesmers). it helps to be flexible sometimes. i have never been ashamed playing my spirit ranger even when people call me names. i think i’m playing it same skills when i play myglass cannon ranger.

This is a bit old – I’m using sylvari verdant torch (or zenith flame – I like both) and toy sword now, and also vigil boots with different colour scheme, but most of it’s the same.

Need to get a few hundred more AP then zenith spire to go with that.

Still haven’t found any decent trousers – honestly I kind of like the basic country pants or student pants the most! All the fancy trousers are pretty ugly.

just use stealth soon after they revealed themselves to give them a dose of their own medicine. lol

rapid fire works wonders too… it can track them down if you hit them right before they stealth.

warrior is not that easy to play because it’s mellee. i gave up playing it. it’s just too hard for me. i prefer ranged classes (ranger, necro, mesmer and ele).

i’m really getting tired of mesmers/thieves that try to contest far point and they couldn’t crack the bunker defending it. is it their nature to do this all the time? rangers and engineers have better chances of beating a guard 1v1.
