“A release is 7 days or less away or has just happened within the last 7 days…
These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”
This may be slightly off topic, but does fear count for defiant stack now? It doesn’t seem to work the same way for bosses…it used to be awesome as an interrupt without having to worry about someone screwing up the stack.
IMO, veterans should always drop blues or above and champions should always drop greens or above and 1 silver or more.
I do agree…I should WANT to take down champs and veterans rather than just run past thinking it’s a waste of time and effort.
The risk is no where NEAR the reward.
Yes for inspecting the skin.
No for inspecting the stats.
Where is the WvW progression system and new rewards???? Wasn’t it scheduled for February or am I completely mistaken?
As for Guild Missions:
Yay more content for players using full MF and just spam fireball/any ranged weapon1 skill. Find a huge guild group going to do some hard Guild Mission content, follow them, press 1 a few times and get the same RNG chances (maybe better with more MF) yay. Way to promote leeches even more!I hope those “Guild Merits” are only rewarded to full guild teams finishing those missions and not random leeches and of course the rewards from them are worth something…
Removing the bolded portion would have made your post constructive.
I look forward to most of this update. But as others have said, I do expect ALOT more if they stated there is an expansion’s worth of content. March is make or break.
CoF path 1 is pretty easy when you know what you’re doing, especially with speed runs.
Honestly, tho, AC is one of the simplest.
It sounds like you just had a REALLY bad party.
I took a 3 week break at the beginning of January and eased back into it during the last 2 weeks.
It’s completely normal.
Charr plush is good. happy birthday
Best way to report is the take a screen shot and then send a report online. That way, they don’t disappear before you can go through the in-game report process.
Human warrior female is my main. Though I am playing A LOT on my charr elementalist as of late.
Bad example Blueshield.
Endure Pain has a 90 second cooldown.
Cloak & Dagger has no cooldown except for the 3 second “Revealed” debuff. Which if you’re using S/D is positively laughable anyway, as for a good part of those 3 seconds, the enemy won’t be able to hit you because you’ve stunned them.
^This.
Perma-stealth doesn’t have an cost that matches the benefit.
Not sure if it’s the actual skill or if it has more to do with rendering.
However, I would be ok with perma-stealth if you were revealed when you took damage.
As a ranger, my pet steals aggro from me, even when it’s set to not attack at all. Makes the dodging achievement rather awkward sometimes.
My gf uses a ranger and has the same problem. Buy a cheap green greatsword. Spam 1 on a mob. You should get 1-2 dodges for most mobs and 4-6 for vets.
couldn’t you have done the experiment with a soulbound item on a newly created character?
25 zones…at least 200 mobs per zone. if even 10% of those mobs are useable…it’s fine.
And I wouldn’t call healing another player “heal stealing”.
Jesus the UI elements are already so minimal, why ppl still complain? o.o
I don’t mind it. The UI is fine for me.
But more UI customization is always welcome. Simply being able to choose the presence, scale, and position of UI elements would be enough to satisfy the majority of people.
I agree that there should be a 1 or 2 week grace period from purchase. But otherwise, the current system is fine.
Well, I was thinking… I might be holding off on mystic clovers for a while. Maybe until the scavenger hunt is released or the prices of pre cursors ever drop… I just dont think I will ever afford 400+ gold for a precursor. Not after I need 100g for runestones alone, plus if I ever want to buy some of the mats. Too much. We’ll see.
What I’m doing is getting everything minus the precursor out of the way.
The 400g+ is silly, I agree. However, like you said, the scavenger hunt should be MUCH less expensive.
1. Find a class that fits you. Do a little research on professions if you don’t have a clue
2. Go to Lion’s Arch. You can go to Lion’s Arch from any of the starter cities. Thus, you can also go to ANY race’s starter area the moment you leave the tutorial.
3. Explore a bit. While your personal story is nice, try to visit other race’s starter areas and various other zones on your own. This will also make sure that you are always at or above the content you tackle.
4. Upgrade your gear on your way to 80. I updated by gear at level 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, and 80 and my weapons at levels 10, 20, 40, 60, and 80. Don’t forget about your underwater weapons.
5. Gather. Even if you DON’T choose to craft. It’s a nice bit of money on the side.
Lastly, do your dailies
very easy to acquire gear using the laurels you gain and provides a bit of experience.
Welcome to GW2.
If you don’t die and pull your weight in a grou, you could go naked for all I care.
But I agree: Before you use magic find, make sure you can handle the content fully geared.
I just want ANYTHING that looks good on an engineer. If you wear medium armor, you will mostly get bandit-style masks, pirate hats, trenchcoats, or pirate coats.
I like my charr engineer
Coat, pants, shoes are Twilight arbor dyed iron and cornsilk. Arms and pauldrons CoF dyed cornsilk. Helm is Leather mask (150-200 leatherwork helm).
I’m redirecting all these topics to the player made guides in the “Dailies the easy way” post:

Make sure you use the 1 clover recipe and not the 10 clover one.
I would not say that 0/10 is normal, tho. Make sure it’s also the right recipe. Are you receiving t6 mats in lieu of mystic clovers?
Dailies made easy: A WHOLE bunch of tips
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Dailies-the-easy-way/first#post1375278
The RNG for mystic clovers is really not that bad…also, the you get mats usable for gift of magic and gift of might. Just make sure you do the 1 clover recipe and not the 10 clover one.
Precursor RNG is another story for another topic.
I would like just one set that is profession specific. Something that I could wear that is unique.
If they implement, inb4 “x profession’s/profession race combo armor is better than y’s. Therefore, I quit the game”
However, in lieu of complete sets, I think a profession exclusive helm and backpack would be appreciated and easily implemented.
Looks like Google translate failed us this time.
+1000
Here is a topic on the forums on how to do dailies as simply as possible. Hopefully it will help the OP.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Dailies-the-easy-way/first#post1372712
I did not know that the 1hp fish counted. ty for the tips guys.
Daily Healer you can also go to Caledon Forest and go to where the Krait Witch spawns. There’s usually a bunch of dead hylek.
I get the feeling that Anet will consider this a exploit tbh..
I don’t think so. But I do believe this is the reasoning behind removing the rich ori node.
…you don’t realize just how simple it is to level, do you?
No, it’s not a cash grab. They introduced laurels that make dailies even more rewarding. Taking a hit on experience ( i think it’s a 45-50% decline, btw…not 80%) is more than fair when you are now able to gain exotic and ascended gear from normal or slightly changed gameplay.
If you need a leveling guide, here’s a decent one on the forums:

Very nice. Good job
Come back for the big 10k
I go out of my way to help people when I can…and I don’t normally see negative behavior. Maybe an argument in LA over which dye is darkest…but I don’t see a lot of negative activity.
For the record, there are other methods of vertical progression, including in GW1.
Titles were used as a mechanism of gaining PvE only skills and also determined their strength based on the title’s tier. Many farming groups required people to have a title of a certain level.
This could be reintroduced in future expansions as a way of maintaining the level cap AND adding meaningful vertical progression to the game. Title tiers could afford greater defense towards certain enemies and greater damage toward others. And it would be as simple as associating statistical benefits to specific titles in the future.
Ascended gear was added to fill the gap between exotics and legendaries…hopefully there will not be another tier.
But we already know level increases are coming…they stated so almost year prior to launch.
That said, I do agree. Horizontal progression is always the better option. They truly need to ensure that the MAJORITY of the zones in the future are at max level.
How about passion fruit items
With guesting, cross-server events like this are possible. thanks for hosting.
I am so flipping happy to read this. Carrion ascended gear…. -Homer drool-
They never said Carrion is one of those stats they are going to introduce. Remember they said they are releasing 30 types of amulets that will “fit any playstyle”? Might be the same thing now. Mixed stats no one would want.
They also never said WHEN they are releasing it.
Nor HOW they will be releasing them. There is nothing in that statement that says they will be available using laurels. Hopefully, they will reserve some of the more popular stat combinations for crafting recipes.
I miss all the PvP options added from factions-EotN. I was not a good PvP player by any means, but I had options as a casual (except for HA…that was the most elitist PvP arena I’ve ever seen).
However, I am much more happy with the PvE gameplay of GW2. They definitely need to work on story pacing for the future, though. Treahearne=Kormir from GW1.
Zonzai, I would like you to keep in mind that it wasn’t until Factions that PvP in GW1 really took off.
I do agree that GW2 obviously is not anywhere close to where GW1 is right now. However, there is a lot of potential for PvP in this game. I’ve seen it in holiday events (not perfect, but definitely shows it’s possible).
ANet needs to spend a few months giving PvP some serious love. Even adding GvG alone would go A LONG way.
I would have to say no.
They really need to show some love to both casual and hardcore PvP.
There needs to be some additional modes. And the thing is, they have proven they can do it with holiday events.
Maybe use SP (skillpoints) to buy them? You can determine the amount of SP they would cost.
10-15 Skill points per laurel. Then I could kinda agree.
I like the change. Not really anything else to say.

316 Octillion Years !
Mine only takes 6 billion years to crack!
Time to make a more secure one!
It’s a lot better. Not perfect, but at least there’s no more one or 2 shots.
I would like it to remain at level 80, but it was already confirmed BEFORE launch that there would be level cap increases in the future:
Sept 22 2011
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/19473-interview-gw2-qa-cd-projekt-conference/
Oct. 6 2011
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/19873-level-cap-increase-in-expansions/
Most recently on Nov. 26 2012
http://www.gamefront.com/guild-wars-2-level-cap-raise-confirmed-for-future/
Even with a level cap increase, as long as level scaling keeps being tweaked, I really don’t see an issue. The only real problem would be the acquisition of new max level gear, but we knew that way before launch.
The make or break will be the ease of acquisition. I hope they learned from FotM and are learning from the laurels.
MMOs are just skinner boxes. Almost no one would play any of them without loot.
Here’s a pretty good analysis.

Welcome to the Skinner Box.
Remove levels OR make over half of the game’s zones max level.
Because endgame is just the same stuff…just at max level. That way people are not confused.
This made me lol. Read the above explanations
Maybe in PVE, but in any sort of PVP format, no.
This.
I would even say that this would be a big no-no for WvW. A huge part of learning in PvP is knowing what your opponent is at a glance.
Waiting for scavenger hunt. Or i’d buy outright. No WAY am i touching that kind of RNG.
It feels really sparse…maybe a 25-40% increase?
But it is A LOT easier to maneuver.
