Slow as a condition is already in the game

chill reduces your movement speed and increases the cooldown on skills you use during chill.

Slow works like quickness but in reverse. It decreases your attack animations.

Meaning if your 1-1-1 chain takes 2 seconds it will now take 3 second to pull off.
If your ice bow 4 takes 3 seconds to cast, it will now take 4.5 seconds to cast.

This also effects melee skills such as 100blades or whirlwind. Makes them easier to spot and avoid. Thats the whole point of slow i guess

the server wide chat should be limited to wvw only. and should have a timer on it so random people dont spam random stuff on it…

What i mean is a person in EB can send a message across all EB via Team chat, and another message across all EB+Home world map +2 other enemy maps in another “wvw” chat.

Other wise your “hey gandara server, lets all go on black gate wvw map and attack them” message can be read by everyone on the megaserver in the pvE world… which defeats the purpose…

intensity of a weapons glow

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Vukorep.3081

some weapons glow and shine. Bifrost shines and glows, Cobalt also has a fiery animation that glows, AC weapons glow in the dark.

Now im not sure if this is fixed or its still in the game but a while back Wooden potatoes made a video about how he bought a AC staff (that glows in the dark) and AC daggers and applied Bifrost and Incinerator skins on those weapons.

The results were that the weapons glowed normally during the day, but when in a dungeon or during the night they were glowing more brightly, double the brightness than before.

My question is can i stack this?
Can i buy a AC sword, apply a fiery dragon sword skin on it making it even more brighter than before…than apply another shiny skin like infinite light or another ac sword skin on it to make it 3x brighter?

dungeons are a mix for me in my experiences.
When i PUG i normally get a quiet group that just says “hi, p1, lets kitten, go” and in general knows what its doing.
There are also those who dont know what they are doing but keep quiet about it…making us fail ,and then sometimes someone tries to explain and other times they rage quit or start kicking people.

On the other hand when i went with my guildies or friends ive seen a great amount of helping and effort put into the group.

Ive also been on several “learning” dungeon runs, where there was 1-2 “veterans” and 3-4 noobs that were there to learn the corners and tricks of dungeons.

so yeah. Depends on with who you are going

Guild Bank in Lion's Arch very inconvenient

divinitys reach has bank, guild bank and a tp right next to eachother.

on another note you can enter the pvp lobby from ANYWHERE in the world to get access to a free (no wp cost) TP as well as bank. and when you exit the lobby youll get back in the spot you entered it from. This works with entering WvW as well tho the pvp lobby has them more closer packed.

And people think anet wants to force people in buying summon tp/merc/bank consumables :P

suggestion: gold storage in bank

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Vukorep.3081

Vukorep.3081

as already mentioned this was a feature before the account wallet feature.
During that time tho you also had to store all of your physical dungeon tokens (items) in your bank as well..

Guild banks however do have that feature, and it also applies for all of your guild banks (3 banks= 3 places to store your gold)
A lot of players make their own guild simply for the extra storage.

How tall to make a Norn?

in Guardian

Posted by: Vukorep.3081

Vukorep.3081

all characters have the same movement speed, but depending on how tall/short they are the movement animation gets slower/faster.

to make a norn feel “normal” by runing you must downscale its height meter all the way…but then youll be playing a really short norn…and youll feel insignificant when youre standing to other npc norns…as they point and laugh at you all the time…

If commanding in wvw is your goal you shouldnt have a problem playing a assura either.

Just tell people to tag you and pay attention to where youre going, use a community team speak (not sure about others but my home world does have one)

PvE Guardian reboot advice

Vukorep.3081

should try with mixing up some gear.
your skills and some traits (with maybe some sigils and runes) will take care of your survivability and support of others, leaving you with 6 armor, 5 trinkets and 1-2 weapons with stats that focus on damage.

I know people like going pure damage in pve but how much damage is really needed…?

Convince me to stay Guardian

in Guardian

Posted by: Vukorep.3081

Vukorep.3081

on a serious note. I cant tell you why you should stay guardian but i can tell you why i like playing mine.

1) I like to have skills that can give out boons and heal around me, even npcs. I know healing isnt THAT needed in the game…but i still love the feel of my skills interacting with other players, and at some times you can really see the impacts of your "tanky healing "build. Even with a single protective reviver trait i can stack regen, swiftness and aegis on my self and the person i rezz during harder fights such as jormag.

2) even tho i have low health, i am able to survive hard encounters that most other classes cant

3) most people go for full zerker, full cleric, full rampager, full celestial builds (in general). Ofc this resoults in a heavy dps profession to have even more dps…but how much dps do you actually need?
Ive found out that a mix of various gear can get you to that sweet spot for your class with power, crit chanse, health as well as armor. As a guardian your utility and traits (maybe a specific rune as well) can take care of your survivability. The rest you can focus on power, precision, vitality and even ferocity.

4) In general a guardian offers a lot of things to the table for him self as well as for the group he is in. His utilities are strong against monsters as well as players. The only other class i could compare guardian with is warrior (for survivability) and ele (for various utility) so if you decide not to stay with guardian try those 2 (tho warriors have some simple mechanics and might get you bored of it quickly…depends on what kind of person you are)

How much Precision is better than Power?

in Guardian

Posted by: Vukorep.3081

Vukorep.3081

id say if your build is based on power and precision then get enough precision that will get you enough crit % chance that you feel comfy with.

you should also pay attention to fury that gives another 20% crit chance, a 25 stack sigil that gives 250 precision maybe, or even a signet utility skill that gives you precision.

I know that not all of the classes have access to such utility or fury.
And thats why i use a skill calculator to check what can i do to get my sweet spot when it comes to crit chance.

Condition Damage in PvE Overview

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Vukorep.3081

Vukorep.3081

not all classes can spam conditions , not all classes have all conditions available (guardians have burning only, warriors work with bleeds and maybe some confusion…engineer tho has bleed, burning, poison and confusion )

That being said i found my self using not sinister but rampager (same stat combo, but this one mains on precision more)
Its a cheaper and faster solution and some classes such as warriors or guardians benefit more from crit hits rather than pure condi damage.

When you are alone or when you are with a small group your rampager youll do both good damage via normal hits (as you often crit hit) and your condition deals a great amount of damage as well.

Another thing that i noticed is that my rampager condi build was more efficient on stronger monsters such as veterans and champions as i was able to stack and maintain a larger amount of bleeds on the target making my bleed deal over 1500dmg per tick.

compared to the usual 700-900 (1200 with burst skills) per tick on normal mobs it does look lacking.

however when it comes to stronger monsters and champions there is usually a large group of players overlaping your own conditions….

if they transfer to your home world (server) then you can go to wvw together.

If you dont mind about wvw then you have nothing to worry about.

Megaservers is a system that puts you in a zone with other players that are
1) from your own home world
2)from your guild
3)from your friends list
4)current party members

so even if you and your friends are from different servers you are still able to play together.. However in wvw you defend your home world, they defend their home world

also if you join a party with your friends and dont see them, right click on one of your friends and join instance

now that you mention it the only person that posted a informative roaming video was that necromancer guy who makes guides about necromancers.

he made a pve ,dungeon, power, condition ,tanky, and even a healing necro build.

and when he made a roaming build he explained roaming perfectly.

I believe he mentioned he roamed about 4 hours in order to get a 5minute video of him stomping and “wining”. then he showed a brief super speed video of him just running around, capping camps, finding other roamers that just run away and sometimes getting killed.

I guess theres nothing wrong with people showing them selfs off in youtube videos..
Id just like there to be more videos of people explaining their build, showing gameplay of it and explaining the strengths and weaknesses of the build when he stomps or gets stomped.

i understand that nobody wants to post their fully ascended geared character getting killed over and over again…but it kinda makes a false picture about pvp and wvw?

New classes?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Vukorep.3081

Vukorep.3081

we have 3 light, 3 medium and 2 heavy armored classes
HoT expansion will add 1 new heavy armored class, the revenant.

i dont think they will add new classes anywhere near soon (after the expansion) as they said they will add new profession specialization to existing classes.

Meaning we will see more specializations instead of new professions.

You also forgot engineers and mesmers.

You also compared gw2 professions with other mmo classes. While theres nothing wrong with that ,you should know that when anet was making gw2 classes they wherent looking at other mmo classes, but instead on gw1 professions

Guardians are a mix of monks and paragons

Warrior is warrior

elementalist is elementalist

mesmer is mesmer (with a new illusion mechanic)

Necro is necro

Engineer is a mix of ritualists, being able to summon something into the world that buffs/attacks foes/friends around

Ranger is ranger

Thief is assassin (with stealth but no real lead attack-offhand attack-dual strike attack skill combo )

So if you are really thinking about new classes in gw2 you should look at gw1 professions and their class mechanics that arent yet in gw2.

Things like a dervish for example, or the professions that wherent added into the game with Guild wars Utopia

Self Leveling too low, game play suffers!

Vukorep.3081

your first suggestion is kinda already in the game.

if you go to queensdale as a lvl 80 you will be lvl 11ish when there are monsters around you that are lvl 10ish

Your lvl 80 exotic gear also doesnt suffer when you go back to a lower level zone.
Try buying white lvl 80 gear from the npc and run around in queensdale and compare it to your full exotic lvl 80 zerker equipment….

The whole downscaling system is made so you DONT blaze trough lower content 1 shoting EVERYTHING in your path. Ending any sort of event that you see with 1 meteor shower for the lower leveled players..

Instead why dont you try a different kind of build?
Maybe play in a party with another friend, guildie or just people around you?

As for dungeons they are completely different than any other pve content in the game.
They work how they work and you can only ask around for a build that works best for your class in that specific dungeon and form a party thats prepared.

And once you go trough all of the dungeons a bunch of times its just going to be a easy routine (if you have others around you that know what they are doing)

first world problems here

Even in gw1 i used to enjoy the game nicely and joyfully…and then a festival comes out such as haloween.

I try out different minigames till i notice a way to make money….a ridiculous amounts of money…

So i farm and farm and think about all the stuff i can get with the money im getting .

And then after a day or two of intense farming i start missing playing “normaly”, leveling my alt, doing dungeons.

And then comes a time where you are thorn between using the limited festival time to gain tons of money or ignoring it and enjoying the game with other stuff that you were doing before..

Lunar festival isnt a exception

Your thoughts?

In GW1 all classes could use any weapon

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Vukorep.3081

Vukorep.3081

250 years ago everyone could hold any kind of weapon.

However in order to actually use the weapon efficiently ,they needed to train in specific magic/weapon mastery .

For example, a fire staff can be wielded by a warrior and the warrior can attack with it.
But unless the warrior doesnt become Warrior/elementalist and train in Fire magic the warrior his attacks with the staff would be significantly low, almost non existant vs harder foes.

250 years later people are using weapon and using them with skills that are themed with their profession.

A warrior can hit swiftly and very hard with 100blades, but a mezmer can summon a magical wave that pushes foes back and shoot lazors out of it…

"support" ranger

in Ranger

Posted by: Vukorep.3081

Vukorep.3081

for a long time i thought that any class can go full zerkers, full tanky, full condy…(even guardians), and the biggest differences between professions is their core class mechanic+utility+ way of supporting other players/npcs around them

Ive played a ele , guardian, mezmer ,warrior for a loong time (in that order)

and i thought every profession has their unique ways of supporting, and i thought warriors support was mostly offensive. Granting others might, fury, condi clenses and +stats with banners.

but then i noticed he can also grant a large area of permanent regeneration via banners.
a lot of condi clenses via shouts as well as healing to himself and 4 more players/npcs around the warrior that can be almost compared with some “minor” healing skill 6 .

So now i made a ranger. ive seen other people playing them in my dungeons, fought with and against them in pvp, but i havent seen a lot of what they can do in pve.

So besides the dungeon “meta spotter and spirit” support, what other ways can a ranger support others around them?

many other skills that are channeled allow you to move

reggening 2 dodges of stamina takes around 20 seconds

reflections
pulls
knockdowns
knockbacks

forcing the ranger to either soak up your 15k crit hit eviscerate or dodge it, making the channeling stop, and the wave of arrows stop…

i do agree on the stealth thing. if you went stealth your arrows should shoot towards the place you used stealth..not follow something thats invisible

also, if nexon is proposing stuff they added in maplestory into gw2, please know gw2 players are a different kind of breed that will take it to heart and not like it

would you like PVP in PVE

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Vukorep.3081

i would not want a open world pvp , i can already see some guilds or just a band of friends blobing around the zone and ganking everything in its path.. we have wvw for that.

another thing about it would be if its going to work it needs some sort of separation between the players.
Factions vs factions, red vs blue, pact vs freelancers ,whatever the name it has to be something that a person gets to decide and become apart of 1 side that fights the other side (for whatever reason…)

On the other hand i would love the option to right click duel on players around me.
Youd get your little 2000 range circle that you can run around and attack eachother.

lore? To spar and hone your skills ofc. Ive seen a ton of skill challenges with npcs taunting you just to hone each others combat skills

It doesn’t even need to be anywhere in the world. New rebuilt Lions arch could have small dueling arenas (placed where the small red stone fence that shaped Anets logo was) that you can talk to a few npcs that act as referees ,you and your opponent queue with the npcs (heck pay 5s if it has to be ) and then you enter the arena and duel together
