I like to see an actual HP Bar for Mobs being implemented where we are able to see the actual Health or at least the HP Percentage of the Mob. The Percentage would be a real Help with mechanics that trigger at a certain HP Percentage Threshhold like the Thrasher Boss at Blue Oasis and would have helped understanding the Port Mechanic a bit faster ( without relying on Myths )

This Ranger Talk here reminds me on how the Necro talked about their Class a while ago. You know, where they talked on how Anet must hate everything about Necro and wants this Class to be gone. And now we have the Ranger in this Place, but to be honest there will always be one Class in an MMO where People talk like this about their Class.^^

I feel so ashamed, i convinced some of my friends to buy the expansion because the BW1 was so much fun and more challenging than the current core game. They logged out an hour after playing because it was not that fun, don’t get me wrong, the map looks amazing, but nerfing the mobs is not the way to go.

I just hope my friends don’t refund the Expansion

After playing some more, i notice that the AI is actually fine when there are not big numbers of players. It seems like scaling is wrong? maybe when the map is 100% revealed it will be quite challenging as we will not be able to zerg and hold all the points.

This is also what I’ve seen. The AI tends to break when there are too many players and then we see the normal Core Tyria Patterns, like there are too many Choices and the AI can’t really decide what to do. Also doesn’t help that some of the Mobs are Single Target Mobs like the Snipers.

Oh and the Tormentors are again a Joke. The Wells just cripple and its nearly save to stand in them because the Wells are doing nothing else than just grow. Give the Wells a second Condition like Torment and the Tormentors should have bigger Base HP. If the Text is right than they have somne kind of HP Sacrificing Mechanic, but they are too Glassy for this.

The Diarmid is weird. Looking really cool, and his first Phase with his SPin to Win Attack is really fun. I saw an entire Zerg going down to this Boss because nobody dodged^^, but the Second Phase with his Greatsword is meh. Attack is still hard hitting but he Attacks with his Greatsword every…. 20 Seconds? Too slow.

Also the Snipers aren’t that much of a Problem now because they seemed to be focused down as first Target but if they are ignored they can still do great Damage to the Zerg. And I thin the Dodge behavior has changed. In the first BWE the kicked and dodged every time I got near. Now some of them just waited until my Big Attack nearly hit them and then they dodged in the last Second. Was impressed.

I have this feeling the content wont be as hard as we hope.

Actually it will likely be like past content. It will come out, be brutally difficult, no one succeeds, everyone complains, then a few weeks go by and people figure out the strategy, start succeeding. Then a few months go by and now most people have completed it, and those that figured it out early will start saying how stupid easy the content is and that you must be terrible if you can’t complete it.

Such is the cycle of difficult content. It’s only difficult until you figure out how to beat it regularly. But that’s how pretty much anything difficult works.

Hmm I must think of Teq and TT after Reading this Post. Both were impossible for most Players at the Beginning and ( with Teq ) the Forum was flooded how stupidly hard this Bosses were. after a bit of time more and more players could do the Bosses ( or in Case of TT after Scale Fixing )

The same will happen with the Raids. They will be more difficult then what most Players have seen in GW2 but after a few Months the Raid will be Easy for the ones who are experienced with the mechanics

There are a few Ways to implement Enrage. The most simple Way is to add a Timer, where the Boss completely snaps after a set amount of Time. But there are also other Enrage Triggers.

One Example is Oregorger, a WoW Boss from the Blackrock Foundry Raid.
This Boss has two Phases. The first one is a normal Phase where he attacks the Raid and every Attack from him depletes his Energy. Once the Energy Bar is Empty he goes to the Pac Man Phase where he rolls around and Eats Ore. He can deplete his Energy Bar two times, the Third time this happens he goes Enrage. But here is the Catch there is a Skill he uses that can be interrupted. This Skill uses a good amount of Energy and is a really fast Cast. But if the Skill is interrupted no Energy will be used, so, the better your Interrupts are the more Time you have and the less DPS you need to avoid the Enrage Timer.

This is one of the better Enrages, where the PErformance of the Players can determine how fast the Boss will go enrage

Really excited about raids. Love what I’m reading.

We want to create epic experiences for you and your friends to conquer together and, once your foes have been vanquished, to reward you in ways that allow you to show off your skills to the rest of Tyria.

The encounters within Raids will contain tons of exclusive new items you’ll never be able to find anywhere else in the game, from miniatures, to weapon skins, to awesome titles. You can then proudly display these out in the open world to show off your skill and accomplishments. Own a Guild Hall? Awesome! You can loot a trophy from some of our bosses and use them as decorations to show off the challenge you’ve conquered.

Secondly, raids will introduce the very first ever set of legendary armor. This isn’t any ordinary armor set! Similarly to legendary weapons, you’ll be able to change the stats that the armor provides. When entering combat, you’ll become a beacon of your heroic deeds as the armor set comes to life, animating around you. Only the bravest of heroes will be able to collect and craft these legendary threads.

A certain user is not going to be happy lol.

Mister " I want everything for free without even doing something useful"?

Ok enough with the fun. I like what I’m reading.

Enrage Timer: Well, considering that these Bosses are Raid Bosses, this is a given. Just hope that the Timers are tuned right because if the Timer is set at 20 Minutes then there would be no pressure and if it is set to one Minute then this would be too insane. There should be some Pressure going on at these Encounters.

But the Line with the Roles where they put in an Example of having Tankier Players to Protect the Condi Players is really sweet. Hope that the Raids will encourage a great Diversity.

It’s ironic how the anti-raiding community is proving to be more elitist than the actual raiders.

“YOU can’t have this mode because I don’t LIKE IT! ME ME ME!”

Its funny to see this. From what Ive seen in the last days, many ( not all ) people who dislike Raiding are just telling that Raids have no real Place in GW2, you should play WoW, Raids are just places where a bunch of elistists are meeting, its just for ppl who rub their superiority into others noses etc etc as Reasons why this Game can’t have Raids.

But truth to be told, GW2 can only profit from good Raids who are challenging, fun, rewarding and unique. 10 Man are a good Raid size, its definetly more than a normal Dungeon but small enough for Organising Things or filling up Places with Randoms.

Will the first Raid in GW2 be a good Raid? I don’t know. It is the first Raid Anet is ever making with this Combat System. I expect Balancing Issues. Some Bosses will be undertuned and some really overtuned, some really fun and others will be boring. Anet does not have experience with Raids but they have a Raid Designer ( a good one if the Rumors are true ) so I think that the Raids will be fun enough even if they will have issues.

Mobs difficulty feedback [merged]

Walhalla.5473

Dropping the Damage by 25% is way too much. The Snipers are glasscannons. If you nerf them this hard, they wouldn’t only drop fast but do also too little damage to compensate the HP they have.

Snipers arenT’ really a problem in Group Events, where they drop so fast you nearly can’t see them ( Exception Champs )

To the new Mordrem Mobs:

Tormentor: Too weak. The only thing they really do are the growing AOE Fields. I like the Idea of AOEs that grow but what are the AOEs doing? Crippling, and thats it, they do so little damage you can stand in 3 of them simultaneously and be like " is there something". And this is while being Berserker. Also the HP Sacrificing. Never saw this because he got downed too quick. My suggestion is to increase the HP of the Tormentors. They have a HP Sacrificing Mechanic. They need HP. Also let the AOE Fields also apply Vuln to make it more punishing to step into these.

Punisher. Well. Break Bar is nice so they don’t get CC’ed to hell without being able to cast their knockdowns. The Damage they do is nice but not really high. The only thing that makes the Tormentor Dangerous is the Knockdown combined with the Snipershots. Could use some tuning

Snipers: Damage is nice, their HP is also nice ( nonexistent ). They try do keep a good Distance between you and him which is awesome. But the Targeting Symbol should be different from the one with the Trolls and the Bees. But since most are arguing about him, how about this. Either give him a Breakbar while he is Sniping and breaking it would cause him to shoot an ally or apply confusion or blind to him to let him shoot an ally ( but you still shouldn’t be in the way of the shot could be dangerous xD ). Just do it in a way that they dont become pushovers. They are fun to fight.

Smokescale: This is the one i have the most problems with. Being ambushed by 3 of them ( with one of him being a vet ) is mostly a death sentence. Engaging them with a plan is fun but to make it a bit less frustrating. Either make Groups out of three Normal ones or one Vet who is then harder to kill.

The Rest well: Pocket Raptors are funny little guys, laughed the first time I saw them. Didn’t Laugh the moment they all attacked me at once. They go down really fast but if I’m not wrong I would say they have something like a Swarm AI. Everytime I saw them attacking someone it was always the same person.
Stoneheads were also fun. LEtting them charge into walls was funny.

So some Mobs need to be tuned up and some could use a little tuning down ( a LITTLE ) but the new Mobs themselves have good Ideas and most of them are engaging enough that you can’t brainzerk them down and this is a good thing. We are fighting an army and they shouldn’t be pushovers like the Risen are.

Also keep in mind that this is a 80+ Reagion and such a Region shouldn’t be so easy that you can watch TV while killing Enemies with ease. And really 95% of the issues are L2P issues because the Mobs are new. After getting used they didn’t kill me so much anymore, like they did at the beginning.

Happy Monday, everyone! I thought those of you in this thread would be interested in the update I just received. We’re going to extend the beta weekend event by an hour today so we can gather a few extra details on the stalled events. You don’t need to do anything differently than what you’ve been doing all weekend.

The gameplay and feedback from all of you this weekend provided a lot of valuable information to the teams working on this part of the map and this content, so thank you!

Thats good News. Hope you are also investigating the things that soem of us think are one of the stalling reasons.

What’s disappointing is that while it’s impossible to progress the south event chain with the two NPC’s, it’s entirely possible to do that with the north event chain. It’s just that you have a bunch of people who don’t listen and mess it up as there’s a certain way you need to do it to not have it bug.

What’s disappointing is that these types problems that have been in the game since the original beta and almost 3 years later and I assume a lot of work put into the expansion(maybe not?) and nothing has changed.

I was hoping to hear about actual improvements to the game and not more of the same old broken events all over the place.

I doubt that the Bugs that break the events now are the Same Bugs that broke them in the Past.
For Example. There is a bug that initiatis the Colossal Vine Event and while this one is active none of the Pale Reavers seem to shoot the Vine Tenders.
Another Bug has something to do with the PAthing of the two NPCs. They go through Walls and port to their Locations so the Game can’T really recocgnize them.
The Itzel Event has a broken Basket Counter wghere not all Baskets count towards the Event, and sometimes emptying the bugged Baskets can kill the Progress.

Events can break on many Points and even if they worked just fine internal or in Stresstests, with no Bugs, they can break the moment they go live because a Beta like this is a different Environment than internal testing or Stresstests.

Also we are here to report such things and even break Stuff to find Bugs, not just playing the new Content.

Ok another Thing to the Event where Skybreaker plants the Bombs.

The intended way to do the Event is to have People down there to use CC skills to deplete the Break Bar, making it possible for the Snipers to kill them. But this is something you can cheese very easily. Use the Sniper Volley just at the Moment when the Husks spawn. There is some time between spawning and getting this Shield and in this time you can obliterate them with the Sniper Volley. Makes this Event, well a b it of boring.

Another thing I noticed after this Event. May be responsible for the broken Event after this one. The two NPCs are walking through a wall, and also they are porting. Saw Skybringer just ported to the front and Laranthir was in the Back, but when this Event starts he also ports to the Event Location. Think this is a pathing issue.

Walhalla.5473

Hi.

I know. the Event Chains are broken and stop their Progress but still there are a few Events we can give Feedback to. And well since this is a beta we should give Feedback.

I’m going to the Pale Reaver Event-Chain which is broken after the Event where Skybreaker plants Bombs on the Ruin Entrance.

Most of the Events feel great. First you are defending with the helpf of the Reavers and even Players who decide to noscope the Mordrems. After a good Dialogue we plant bombs to the Vines and the Sniprs are very helpful in this Event, Srsly they can oneshot most mob. ( Glad they can’t shoot us xD )
Then we have an Escort Mission where we escort the two NPCs and hold specific areas so the Reavers can shoot the Vine Tenders down. While it is good to have a Location you have to defend, the only thing there that bugs me is that the location on the Bridge is kitten close to a Stonehead Spawnpoint who then rushes into the Location and makes it contested. Otherwise this Event ahs a good Tempo.
The Event after has also good Ideas. With Husks that need to be CCed to drop their shield and having Snipers nuke them down in an instant.
Good Idea but this Event takes to kittening long. Did Skybreaker work on the Berlin Airport too or why is she so slow? Even with perfect defending you are essentially waiting close to 10 Minutes for her to plant the Bombs. The Time needed for this should be much less, and 5 Minutes on a perfect defense should be the abolute Maximum. The Wolfes there are a nice addition because they also rush to the Location to contest it. Like it but too slow the Event.

Can’t give Feedback on the Itzel Events because they are bugged much earlier and I didn’t play them really.

If you have Opinions to the Events, being it the Event Chains or the Night Events please post it.^^

Most of the People I’ve seen complaining about something being too strong were just too lazy to even think about how something can work. Most of them even insulted Players who were giving them Tips or ignored them, they just wanted to hear the same from others, hoping that Anet would Nerf Things enough, so they can mindlessly go through any Kind of new Content. So nobody should be surprised if a “XXX is too hard” will get negative responses.

There are few Exeptions and these People listened to the Advise of others who were better and guess what, they could do the Content they thought that it would be impossible.

Well I believe that 95% of the GW2 Players would be able to steamroll the new Mobs after some time ( some faster some slower but they would be able to do this ), but only if these People stop for a Moment and think about the Situation instead of just PRessing 1 to win. The Silverwastes Mobs were a Wake Up Call from Anet to show us that things aren’t going to get easier but harder. We all knew from SW and the Announcement that this is the direction we are going..

@neilug: Its not the Casuals who are whining about the difficulty, its ( as always ) the ones who just don’t want to put in some effort to learn the new Mobs and just want to grab free loot with 1 pressing.

@ Anet: Please. Don’t nerf the Mobs. They are, for the most Part, fine and a perfect second Wake Up Call. The only Thing I would like to see would to see other Stats being affected by Scaling other than just Vitality and Power.

Don’t fret^^
Actually, both chain events are bugged and non functional, starting from yesterday (about 1hour after beta start)

That means no wyvern, and no “whatsoever” in the ruins with Laranthir…
I don’t know if it’s planned or something, but not being able to fight at least one “boss” is …sad i’d say:/

Hmm, I saw this kind of Bug… Where was it?
Oh just after Launch where many Events had Bugs like this, with NPCs not going further or Mobs not Spawning. Also with the Dragon’s Reach Update where Enemies didn’t spawn.
There is something in the Eventcode thats breaking very easily with a bigger amount of Players, also it seems that this Something is on a different Place of Code than the Event Breaking Bugs we already had seen.

Agreed, mixed feelings on snipers though, but eh leave em be, i remember encountering a sniper champion, lets just say it did not die xD

I would rather adjust the Scaling of the Snipers. Not going for more Health and Damage but having Toughness as the Main Attribute to scale up, with Presicion and a bit of Vitality as secondaries. ( as a fast suggestion )

Different Mobs need different Scaling. If a Mob is a Glass Cannon, you need to make sure that it even Scaled up, it is still Squishy ( even if it is Squishy to just Condis ), you just can’t make a Squishy Mob Scale to an HP Sponge with Huge Power. It would be just kittenty.

Don’t understand why L2P is rude here. These are completely new Mobs so everyone here needs to L2P. Some are faster others a bit slower.

Yes the Snipers are hard hitting but they are Squishy as hell. In Fact, they are, what you will call, Glass Cannons. Hard hitting but can be killed by a sneeze. Srsly, I walked with a Dragonhunter into the Beta yesterday, with Celestial/ Dolyak, no clue how to play this Class and get what, even with my crappy Guardian Skills and Equip, they died in Seconds.

There is no real Problem with the Snipers. We just need to drop in more Control to make them harmless. In the Open World, I now have no Problem with the Snipers because I know what they are capable of and now use Skills to counter them.

The ones who get me down are usually the Snipers. kitten they are powerful and they are trying to keep a good distance between you and himself through dodging and kicking.

Also there were these Stonehead Dinos, Pretty fun these guys because Positioning is important otherwise you are doing 0 Damage.

So far the Mobs I’ve seen are an improvement to the Dry Top and SW Mobs ( who were already an improvement to the rest of the Mobs )

Hard content confirmed !

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Walhalla.5473

There are people out there who will complain and shout for nerfs and ‘rebalancing’ as soon as they have to put effort into killing a foe. I would welcome challenging content, but I somehow have doubts that this content will stay that way.

Remember the Days after Release where the Forum was flooded with " Everything too hard"? Even though 99% of the Players were used to traditional MMO thinking ( which is still getting you killed ), didn’t even know how the Classes worked ( the most important thing ), weren’t doing Dungeons at Lvl 80 and had kitten Gear ( a few greens most blues and even some white stuff ) most People on the Forums were demanding Nerfs to the Dungeons.

I also remember two other Things. Getting killed in the Starting Zones because didn’t utilized the Mechanics back in the Beta ( Yes, it was rather Easy to be killed by Mobs in the Starting Zones in the Beta ). And Mobs did dodge out of the AOE Circles but we ahd enough People saying that this would make AOE Skills useless.

And during Season 2 there still were " Things are too hard" Threads popping up and this time the OPs were rather hostile against the ones who didn’t had much Problems with the Stuff and let’s be honest. Season 2 wasn’t that much more difficult than the Stuff we already know, yes it wasn’t that easy but still on the easy average to above average side.

And yes Hard Content means, failing and getting killed, but it also means learning from Mistakes and finally succeeding the Challenge and having a great Feeling that you have accoplished something.
Should the Open World be really hard? Not really, some really hard Parts of the Open World would be nice but this is the Place where every PVEler is plaing.
Should the Dungeons or Raids ( if they are coming ) be hard? Of Course and with fitting Rewards like enough Gold and a reaonable Loot Table with Skins that you can’t get anywhere else.

But how to make things harder and more Challenging? Well having a better AI who can react to our actions would be a good start. Also Encounters should play much more with Mechanics we use and introduce more Mechanics. Things like our Dodge Rolls. Having Mechanics that work with our Dodges would be nice, like a Dodge on the Right time triggering something that Debuffes a Boss and at the wrong Time hindering us in some way.

The Combat System of GW2 has great Potential, Anet only need to use it.^^

Another big difference between eng/ele and rev is that eng and ele are ranged by default. Not having melee isn’t a problem, but in some situations not having range can be, and hugely so.

And with HoT Engi is getting a Hammer with Elite Spec. So should he now get a Weapon Swap ability?

Weapon swap isn't needed.

Rev with Weapon Swap. So we then have a Rev who can swap Weapons and Utilities and Elites in Combat. This is a bit too much. If this going to happen other Classes will cry for Utility Swap in Combat.
What i would like to see are, diferent Effects on Weapons depending on the Legend, like doing more Conditions while invoking Mallyx or more Support while invoking Ventari. To make each Weapon viable for more than one Legend while still having their Theme ( Like Staff being better Support than Mace Axe, which would still be better at Conditions than other Weapons )

My general idea is: there is nothing being shown because there is nothing to show.

Same, but hopefully they’re working on showing us something they’re working on in the future. At least, that’s my hope. Otherwise, get your fire resistant suits ready.

The forums will go up in flames.

They will just close it for a day or two like they did after Preorder marketing fiasco.

Only they didn’t close the Forums. The Forums were just so slow that many couldn’t access it. I think some Idiot was mad/childish enough to launch a DDOS attack on this Forums because someone in the Marketing kittened up.

Nope, the forums are simply not made for such activity as what was taking place then. When a hot (pun not intended) topic appears, and lot of people that usually ignore the forums, frequent them at irregular rates and/or stick only to reading suddenly start to post at the same time, everything goes down.

Then the Forum Software is kittenty if this is the Case. It should handle a bigger Amount of People reading Topics. ( Exepct we had over a few million People going reading here on the same time )

But still. The Rage after the Marketing Disaster was one of the bigger Crapstorms I’ve seen. Spamming the Forum with the same Topic over and over with some really bad Grammar and there were also People who went personal towards the Devs, there was at least one Dev who received a mail from one of the Ragers. And even now People are demanding certain Anet Staff to be fired and insult them. ( not here but there was at least one Reddit Thread where this happens/ happened )

It isn’t that far fetched that someone used a DDOS just out of Rage. People are doing dumb things when angered and DDOSing something isn’t that hard anymore.
But it could also happened due to the Forums not being able to handle many Players.
Both of these things are possible.

Only they didn’t close the Forums. The Forums were just so slow that many couldn’t access it. I think some Idiot was mad/childish enough to launch a DDOS attack on this Forums because someone in the Marketing kittened up.

Thank you A-net Devs!

And I saw on reddit that there is even worse things, like people asking for some devs to get fired.

And this People are Part of the Communication Problem we have with Anet. Srsly what I saw on the Necro Thread there was unacceptable. I remember the Times where this Forum was a Toxic Wasteland and Reddit was a Place where you could discuss things a bit more constructive, now it is the opposite and Reddit is now even worse than what this Forum used to be.

Giving Feedback, Positive or Negative, is important to make GW2 a better Game, but going Personal isn’t making things better, it could make things even worse and this isn’t what we want to do^^

Face it, there needs to be a test server.

I remember the Beta Weekends and Stress Tests for GW2 Vanilla. At the beginning there were a few People who refused to participate because their Progress wouldn’t be safed to the Game itself. This side grew more and more until the Maps were really empty in the Stress Tests with so few participating that the Stress Test would not help to stabilize the Servers on Release.

First. Even with Test Servers there would still be big Bugs going into the Live Server because the Live Servers have many more Players and a different environment.
Second: Test Servers are rarely used for their intended purpose ( finding bugs ). Most of the People going to the Test Servers just want to play some content earlier than others
Third. There are many People unwilling to participate because it is “wasted time” that could be spend otherwise ( like farming Gold or other Stuff )

My proposal: a big nerf!

All the professions feel the same b/c some have stealth while others don’t and some have quickness while others don’t and some can spam condis while others can’t and because some can spam boons while others can’t and some have access to invulnerable or blocks or reflects while others don’t and b/c reasons….

I’m not sure I’m following your logic here. :/

I would say that OP just played one Class despite saying that he plays every class. And now he feels his Class to be underwhelming and asks for a Nerf

Monsters variety

I would say the Mordrems in the Silverwastes are a step forward to more Variety. Everyone of them feels different and you can’t just autoattack a bunch of them to win. Try autoattacking a Group of Terragriffs and Menders. This combo can pretty easy wipe a whole fort of 10 or more Players.^^

What i miss from the Mordrems is the rezzing we saw with the Toxic NPCs. But the Humanoid Mordrems could be just doing this. In on of the beta Videos I have seen at least one Type of Mordrem who is dodging quite a bit. This and the fact that the “early” Mordrems ar quite different let me hope that we see good Mobs in HoT.

My proposal: a big nerf!

That’s a while i think a big nerf of boons/conditions should help all classes to be usefull and different,

Godd Idea, and next we nerf direct Damage Players HP and Armor, all to make them useful.

Grenade barrage bug technically an exploit

While there are Exploits that will result in Bans because they are just that bad. Things like Grenade Barrage or the Guardian Abuse are due to balancing mistakes or Oversights and will not result in Bans. Anet can’t just Ban all of the People who play their Class. The only thing they an do, is to fix the Issue.
And what should the People do? Stop playing their Class?

nothing would ever be melted by any type of damage, IF the mob hp would be tuned according to the possible dps output of good players, but that is not the case in gw2 atm.

Well to be Fair. The Bosses were not tuned for the Situation we have now. With Players knowing them in and out and having set up Build with such high Damage that they die in Seconds.
They were created to be a challenge at Release, were no one even knew how to play this game. ( Remembering the “Dungeons are too hard” whine ), but now almost 3 Years later, they are like: kittening Easy and Faceroll.

Ok would someone explain to me why a Sub Fee would help GW2?
All I can see is that a Sub Fee would kill this Game faster then the WoR Cheese would kill Lupi.

My idea would be to go play a game that can implement and already has implemented enjoyable raids that aren’t full of zerk dps as fast as u can with the occasional dodge roll.

Possible Raid Bosses would need high enough Toughness so normal Damage doesn’t melt them and high enoug Vitality so Condition Damage doesn’t melt them, but they should be killable in a decent amount of Time. Bosses with absurd amount of HP should have different Phases to make the fight more interesting.
Also we need to look at the Dodge Roll, the Encounters need Mechanics to deal with the Dodge Roll, like having fields that only make little damage initially but do massive Damage if you try to dodge out of them.
Raid Bosses should be complicated enough to be called a Raid Boss. Things like the SW Bosses would only fit as early Raid Bosses but the later ones need more and better mechanics.
And then there is the stacking. Certain Mechanics should help stacking, like shared Damage from an AOE and certain Mechanics should be there to make the Raid spread out, like Splash Damage or exploding Players.

Do you really think Anet will ever make raids? I mean, I would love to see them. Raids in WoW were the only fun I had in that game, but I don’t think Anet likes instanced content

Well Anet has hired a Raid designer a while ago. And Colin said that the Open World Content in HoT is not what they mean with Challenging Group Content. So yes, Raids could be possible in HoT

Last Boss being killed in the first Week of an MMO Expansion, this isn’t going to end well.

Instead we’ll get a cliffhanger after 4 days in the first Week of an MMO Expansion. And people are still going to complain there’s no content. In fact, that will be worse as it will highlight just how little substance there is to HoT.

For pity’s sake people! You paid $60 for ~30 explorable areas (counting cities) in the base game. And now ANET is asking you to pay $50 for a THIRD of that MAYBE. And you’re perfectly fine with it. I just don’t understand.

Read the Entire Post. I have said how it should work if Mordy isn’t killable right after Release, with the Community doing Content and thus working to it.
Whats more important than just having it at Release is how good the Encounter will be. Is it going to be epic or just the Plant Version of Zhaitan? I want this to be epic, and thus I, for myself, can wait a bit if this means that we get a truly epic encounter, you can bet that I will complain if this is going to be the same kitten as Zhaitan.

It also depends on how much Content HoT will include. Since Anet remains silent ( no surprise, Anet is silent about everything -.- ) the Argument " HoT will only include one Map" is as Valid as the Argument " HoT will include 7 or 20 Maps ". Anet needs to break its silence and show us other Maps, even bits of them in Beta Weekends would work.

Because there is plenty of things in-game that actually points towards killing the Elder Dragons actually being a bad thing for the world?

Yes but the majority of the People in Tyria thinks that killing Elder Dragons is a good thing for the world. We still need to see the consequences of killing Elder Dragons because right now, nothing really happened after Zhaitans Death. ( Could be because his Champions are now trying to fill his role ). I can imagine that the Story shifts from just killing them to replace them with less malevolent Entities to balance Magic.

I wouldn’t mind if Mordy isn’t killable in the Release Version of HoT, of course this can suck because HoT is also about killing him, but him hanging around at Release? I give him 2 Days, wait, 4 Days because the first two Days are going to be unplayable and with the Last Boss being killed in the first Week of an MMO Expansion, this isn’t going to end well. ( I can hear the No Content cries )
He should be an Encounter in HoT but not to soon after Release, perhaps we could do some work in the Game to enable him, like doing stuff related to him ( which would take time but would be a rather good solution if implemented well )
