First. Bug Fixing is not as simple as just pressing a Button or set a Value from 1 to 0. Some Bugs can be very complicated and nearly impossible to find in the Code, despite being right there ingame.

Second: There are many Bugs that don’t exist until the Game goes live or certain Patches hit on Tuesdays. It may sound odd but Software can react different to Live Envirnment than it reacted on Test Environment.

Third: Fixing ALL Bugs is just unrealistic, every Program will have Bugs.

dps meters are toxic.

Yes.

Looking at it holistically it’s very clear that overall such features do far more harm than any niche of good a small percentage of players tout they do. I understand their benefit and have used them in the past, but I’m not for a moment foolish enough to even try and convince anyone that they provide more positives than negatives to a game.

Additionally, personally I think it’s ridiculous to even suggest such a mechanic is now needed, and base such an argument solely around one tiny part of the game: Raids.

With raids being solely a dps check

And I thought the Bosses have actual mechanics. Ok I’ll ignore everything else in the Encounters and just stand there and do Damage. :P

Remember fighting VG in the BWE. The Port AoE was nearly invisible due to Particle Effects. They are now more visible than earlier and with a bit practice you can see them now even within the Effects.

Hi.

I have played GW2 and HoT now for a while and this Game is awesome. But as I’m playing I see some quirks in the Game that could be better. I think two Qo Changes would make the Game more enjoyable.

1. More Sections to the LFG: Right now the Open World Tab for the LFG Tool is a cluttered Mess. You want to look for Dry Top T6? SW Events, SW Chest Farm or AB Meta for example? Good luck finding it through the Mess we now have.
There is almost everything posted in the Open World Tab. Some Things that should be moved to Dungeons or Fractals Tab but also Raid Groups looking for Members or Players looking for Raid Groups. These Things don’t belong in the Open World Tab but they have to post it in the Open World Tab because there is no Raid Tab. Adding a Raid Tab would clear some of the Mess there und having a Tab for Core Tyria and HoT each would also make Things a bit better.

2. HP-Bar. Right now we only have a Bar that shows some Red color and nothing else. This is the most basic form of an HP-Bar. But it also has a Problem. We have open World Bosses and Raid Bosses who trigger some Mechanics when they reach a certain HP percentage, like the 66% Intermission Phase on the Vale Guardian or the Stop Ports on 80% on the Blue Thrasher in SW Breach.
We also have skills and Traits that work only ( or much better ) when the Boss has reached 90% 50% and so on. For most of the Mobs this isn’t a Problem because they die really fast. But for Open World Bosses or Raid Bosses this can be quite problematic.
Take a Reaper for Example. Above 50% the Reaper has some Average DPS, not really good but also not really bad. Below 50% this is where a Reaper can Shine. Not only can he do 20% more Damage due to a Trait, his Gravedigger now can do really good damage, but here is where the HP-Bar becomes a Problem. From 55 to 45% we can only guess if the Boss is under 50% sometimes it looks like he has less than 50% HP but is still above it and vice versa. And guessing to see if you can now use some Skills is really arkward, since you could have used certain Skills much earlier or you just waste them.
I would suggest to adjust the HP-Bar that you can the HP Percentage of the Target. Seeing if he has 49% 24% or 81% would really help and make the Game a bit more playable.

What do you think of these Suggestions? Or do you have more Suggestions for QoL Changes?

Raid need at least 2 difficulty level!

Raid, I am very hyped about raid, but after getting my feet wet I see many problem with the current state of raid!
A) no looking for raid group on the group finder! This is just stupid because even WOW allows you to atomically look for people via the Dungeon Finder!

You mean the LFR? Sry but LFR Raiding is so easy that you can compare it to Chest Farming in terms of Diffculty and this is something I don’t want here in the Raids.

B) the raid mechanic are stupidly easy compared to WOW, as a matter of fact the only difficulty with the raid comes from the enrage timer, I have spend over 30 hours with various pick up group and guild trying to down the very first boss Vail Guardian and we couldn’t do it. Now I am not against hard content, what I am against is only releasing hard content and not having a similar easier difficulty. The great game developer side meier said you need at least two difficulty hard and normal. Now world of warcraft made their raid difficulty correct, they have normal difficulty, heroic and mythic! I mean come on guild war 2 development team how can you kitten this up? And is very simple to have a easier difficulty just give us more time!
Hence I suggest for raid there should be 3 difficulty
Normal enrage timer goes off after 15 minute
Heroic enrage timer goes off after 12 minute
Hard enrage timer goes off after 8 minute
and to make everyone happy each difficulty give different reward, for example on hard difficulty the raid give you more gold and more crafting material for your legendary, and their should be a leader board on who can beat the raid faster!

Nah the Mechanics aren’t that Easy compared to WoW. First, you never saw Gorseval or Sabetha ( who turns into a Clusterkitten at the End ). Second, for a First Raid Boss, the Vale Guardian is quite Complicated. A Three-Phase Fight with two intermission Phases isn’t something that you expect for a first Boss. It is something that the last Bosses of a Raid normally have.
First Bosses are normally DPS Checks ( And with DPS Check I mean a Boss with just one or two simple Mechanics that aren’t really punishing but with a tight Enrage Timer and high DPS requirement. And judging from what I’ve seen from Raiding and watching Vids, the Bosses here are no DPS Checks themselves. ). Also if the Mechanics are so Easy why is it that you never found a Group that passed the VG? Really, I have seen Mechanics in WoW that are much easier.

And your Suggestion isn’t that good, you just add more Time to the Enrage Timer. Most Groups who fail at the First Boss aren’t failing it because of the Timer, its because of the Mechanics that aren’t executed well at the different Phases.

Over this week i’ve tried running 3 different classes in the raids. Against vale guardian this is what i’m seeing:

Condition Reaper: 10-11k dps, no utility
D/F Tempest: 17-18k dps, 2k heals/s, high aura uptime, 6 group might stacks
PS Warrior: 12-13k dps, 25 might, 150 power, 150 precision, Fury, Warbanner, regen

10-11k DPS are good enough. If you didn’t kill it before Enrage hits than your Group messed up different Mechanics of the Boss, like getting Ported or just putting everyone in the Lightning Strike. To kill the Boss everyone needs to do round about 5 – 6k DPS which isn’t much.
I guess your Group just payed more attention to the Mechanics, especially if the HP of the Guardian went down much faster.

6k dps is just taking his health and dividing by the enrage timer and number of group members right? I mean you have 2 minutes where you can do no dps cause he is split so I think it is actually closer to 10k dps what you need for the actual fight. I also have no idea what my group members dps was, as I was the only one using a meter.

But the difference between 10k dps and 18k dps over 6 minutes of hitting the vale guardian is an extra 2.8 million damage. That is 10% of his health or ~30s off the fight time.

Just taking his health would be 4.5k, without counting the Intermission Phases. And if most of your Party Members can do something like 10 k or more than the Reason why you didn’t kill it in time was because of some Mechanic hicc-ups.
These are really big DPS Losses and JanX isn’t really able to let us see it because after a few seconds the Program seems to stop calculating otherwise it would have showed me some DPS Crashes after being ported far away, but it just went don little and stayed there before attacking the Boss again.

Srsly. Give the Raid some Time. We aren’t a Week in and PUGs are already killing the Vale Guardian. Give it a few Months. With enough Time the PUGs will be able to kill Gorseval and finally Sabetha.

Remember Tequatl? Who went from “impossible for Casuals and everyone with a Job QQ” to a Loot Pinata again? ( And no Teq wasn’t nerfed, People just got better ).

Introducing an Easier Mode will just result in this Mode being Facerolled by everyone after enough Time.

The only pug groups that are going to complete it are ones that consist of players who are willing to use voice coms, gear checks, and comp checks. Pug must know how to dodge and play their class. Still it will be hard because it only takes one person to make a mistake and wipe the whole party. Some mistakes are recoverable but the encounter with the Vale guardian at least is riddled with RNG, and you can wipe just because of RNG.

What RNG is there in the encounter? Besides the teleport location being random if you happen to get hit.

The only amount of RNG is the Position you are getting ported and the Position of the Lightning Strike, but this is something you can control by standing in one Corner of the Area. So while there is RNG in this Fight, it is so small you don’t recognize it as RNG.

I doubt raids will be beatable by PuGs though, so min-maxed group compositions most likely will be a thing.

Same was said about tequalt and triple wurm

Once megaservers came and everyone had the opportunity to learn it was proven wrong very quickly

Triple Worm still fails with almost every PuG.
Tequatl was nerfed.

Pls tell me what was nerfed for Teq.

He’s not being reactive there at all. It’s just that he over-estimated how the surviving Pact troops could fight back.

I think you mean Underestimated. And yes this would make sense. Lets be Honest. Lets be honest. Mordy shot down the entire Fleet from the Sky. Most people would die from the crashing Airships alone, not counting the Explosions. Then Mordy could take control of enough Sylvari to thin out the Pact Member even more.
The surviving Pact Members would have to deal with the Maguuma Jungle, and would likely mistrust the Sylvari Members, some would even go out and kill Sylvari on Sight. This is what Mordy thinks will happen and that they weren’t a Threat anymore and more likely tring to just survive in the Jungle.

Which was a massive miscalculation.

Guild Wars 2. And Bosses don’t have THAT many OHKO Mechanics.

At this point, nomads would be welcome. Groups that could beat a boss with Nomads could beat it faster with better gear.

Nope.A Full Nomad Group could cheese the Mechanics in the first Boss Fight. The Lightning Orb itself is strong enough to kill off most of the DPSlers. In the Raid I have seen a few People surviving the Orb and no they weren’t Full Defense because otherwise the VG would’ve attacked other People than me and I was Half Cavalier Half Zerker. If People without full Defense can survive it, a Full Nomad Group can survive it without Probs and Heal up the Rest of the Damage.
You know what that mean? That would mean you could ignore a Mechanic with fzll Nomads Gear and killing a Boss with Full Nomads doesn’t mean that you can kill it with other Gear and Builds.

Right now the Orb is strong enough to kill off enough DPSlers so that you can call a Wipe, or trying to recover ( but for most of the Time you would call a Wipe ).

What I don’t want to see in Raids.

1. Nerfing the Encounters
2. Patchwerk Fights
3. HotW Style Fights
4. Safe Spots that disable Mechanics
5. Impatient People ( will kick everyone who is whining after the first Attempts. This is a Raid not something we should be able to Steamroll )
6. Kicks because of Ascended Armor ( srsly. Armor isn’t worth the Effort )

Now I have the mental image of a sniper crowd-surfing an army of pocket raptors. It is literally the sum of all fears :p

And the Snipers are shooting Legendary Rolling Devils. Hmm I think this would be even too much for Dark Souls Players xD

1) Disagreeing: You need some sort of DPS Check just to make sure that you can’t cheese a Boss with 10 Man Nomads Gear. Also the DPS Check for the Guardian itself is pretty low. Math says that 4.5k DPS is enough. I would add some DPS to it because of the intermission Phases. So about 6k DPS? Still low enough. And of course DPS Classes will go Glass to push their DPS. It is in their Job but you also have other Roles to fulfill, so not everyone is going full Glass.
And to be clear. Someone who is min-maxing but doesn’t play with the Mechanics will be a greater DPS Loss than someone who isn’t min-maxing but plays the Mechanics to a Perfection.
2) Like the Idea of giving more Loot to the ones who did it better, having a few Challenges makes Fights a bit more interesting.
3) Audio could use some tuning but what needs to be done is to reduce the Particle Effects. It isn’t good if your Particle Effects make it hard to impossible to see some Mechanics.
4) Mechanic isn’t Stupid. 5 Players that run to a Circle to avoid Damage? Why not. It is there so more People are responsible for a smooth run. And it isn’t completely Random. You can manipulate where it is spawning a bit. The Area is split up into 3 Parts and this thing can spawn in every Area the Players are, so if everyone is just in Area Blue this Thing will only spawn in Blue.
5) Bugs will happen, just hope that we will see not many Bugs.

I just hope there are actually decent rewards since none of their other group content has any worth mentioning.

2 Gold per Boss. Massive XP Rewards, Raid Currency, Unique Skins and Shiny Rewards and also Ascended Weapons and Armor. Hope the Drop-Rate is good enough so we don’t need to Kill Boss Y for X Times just to get one Drop.^^

1) Raided for 3 Hours with PuGs. Got it to 66%

2) Really good designed. More Mechanics than the entire HotW combined and Mechanics are punishing but also fun. You learn from your deaths which is good.

3) 8-9. Configuration is important. But not Class configuration, its the Role Config thats important. You need Condis, a Heal Supporter, CC, Boon Strips, and a tanky Char. ( tanked with a Reaper, was awesome ) and I think later Bosses need more of this Stuff.

4) First Boss. I think you can down it with a PuG and without Voice Chat. The PuG Groups I tried with got better and better….. until Ppl left.^^

With the 50 Year Sequence you also have to take in Account that Primordus normally would have awakened around 1080. In GW EOTN we killed the Great Destroyer and delayed his awakening for about 40 Years. Without our intervention and the Dwarven Scrifice there would be a Gap between Primordus and Jormag. A Gap that Steve could fill perfectly.
Also look at the Sequence in Ormadds Machine, the Blue Orb activated after Primordus Orb and before Jormags Orb. And the Trial has Salt Water coming after fighting a Destroyer and before fighting the Icebrood. I think that Steve just awakened very shortly after Primordus.

And from both the cinematic during The All as well as the Trial of Strength during City of Hope, it’s most likely that the DSD awoke between Primordus and Jormag. Primordus awoke in 1120 AE, and Jormag in 1165 AE. That would place the DSD’s awakening between those two dates – all possibilities lying before 1173 when Rata Novus fell.

DSD woke in ~1270, all of the dragons, except Mordremoth (because of Scarlet) were 50 years apart, even bubbles. He rose after Zhaitan and before Kralkatorrik… that cutscene was riddled with errors, like Mordremoth and Zhaitan being mixed up. It’s definitely clear they normally awaken within 50 years of each other, Primordus and Mordremoth attempted to do so prematurely, with Mordremoth being successful. So I’m it appears, ~1270 is when the aquatic races flee inland, which is the only confirmed event Bubbles was responsible for.

We only know that DSD was active in 1275 but do not really know the Wake Time, because at 1275 the Underwater Races fled. Remember the Krait had an Empire underwater and judging the Krait, they fought quite a long Time before fleeing. ( After all their Cities were built around their Holy Obelisks )

To know this it would be nice to know if the Chak appeared after DSD awakened or before. I also find it suspicous that there is a Species that is eating Ley Energy and there were no Mordrem Chak in HoT.

I am however glad to see Canach being treated like a “Human” being for once its a great thing!

I found it odd that our Char who was hostile towards Canach ( what was understandable and not forced ) and went to " Glad to have you here" in just a short Time. I can understand that we aren’t hostile towards him anymore and even considering him as a Friend at the End. But at the Beginning of HoT? Not even the slightest Mistrust?

The behavior towards Caithe was much better and given the Dialogue I’m having the Feeling that we can count one more to our " Firstborn Killed" Statistic in the Future

question, do you run full zerker gear?

I run full zerker and haven’t really had issues with mobs killing me – the problem here is that mobs that “evade” or are invulnerable for long periods of time ( like smokescales) are not fun to play against.

It’s the laziest way to make a fight more dangerous/take longer – make the thing you’re fighting periodically invulnerable.

Even QTE would be a better way out.

In my opinion it is not a lazy way to make fights longer, it is a way to make you realize that this is your defencive phase of the fight. It forces you to plan your moves and not just go all out zerker on your enemies. People complained before that most of GW2 content was just 111111, but now you have to use other skills during these phases to get away, block, evade or dodge.

I run Knights with my Scrapper and I kill a veteran smokescale in less than 30seconds, CC it and keep it out of its smoke circle, the only time when it is realy invurnable is when he does the shiro skill but two timed dodges and you go pretty much out un-harmed.

It’s not about what skills you use – it’s simply adding an “unfair” mechanic – no matter how skilled you are an invulnerable enemy is still invulnerable.

I have no issue killing them or staying alive – it’s just that I find the mechanic of making them last artificially longer through invulnerability to be a “cheap” way to add challenge.

Smokescales are only invulnerable if you facetank them in their Smokefield. Stay outside wait a Second and bamm. Smokescale dead.

HoT after the launch herd

Since the Volunteer system was introduced I experienced it only 2 times in core Tyria (a year or so?).
On HoT maps I’ve got the pop up around 15 times since launch (2 weeks).

They said they addressed the mega server issues, so not sure why I keep getting notified that maps are too empty.

Don’t think that all Megaserver PRobs are adressed. Just two or three Days ago, a Friend and I duo’d a Wyvern in the Itzel Event Chain ( was Awesome to kill it with just 2 ). After the kill we got kicked because the Map closed and we both landed on different Servers. Despite being friends, from the same Server and in a Group. Both Maps were…. they weren’t empty but not as filled as I liked.

Decent Review. Expected much worse from them. The Thing with the Empty Maps is still something that has to do with Megaservers doing a poor Job. Combine this with big Maps and great Verticality and you get the Impression that Maps are always Empty. I hope that Anet fixes the Megaserver Issue and implement a better System to join Maps that have Ppl in there ( There are in fact many People who play on HoT Maps ), like the District System in GW1.

Ahh yes IGN. The ones who critisized Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze for its “unimaginitve Level Design” giving it a 6 and Pokemon ORAS for having too much Water. I don’t think if I can take anything serious from them anymore.

Hmm but I’ll give this a try and perhaps this is one of the better Reviews from them.

My issue is with pocket raptors, and Mushrooms, the raptors need alot less health.

This might sound confusing but the meta event and the final mission of the PS take place at the same time. While the Pact attacks the physical Mordremoth, the PC attacks him in his own mind. The physical attack works because Mordy’s mind is assaulted and the attack on his mind works because the Pact is knocking his teeth out. One would not have worked without the other. And before you give me the “but I did both”, yes you can, but storywise you only did the mind attack, the meta event assumes you are just a random pact soldier.

I don’t think so, is there any proof?

" Armies cannot stop me " Mordremoth 2015 – his Opinion of the Pact Assault on him in Dragon Stand. Canach also said that Mordremoth is distracted by the Battle outside. This should be Prove enough that the Meta and Story Mission took Place at the Same time.

And this wasn’t just a Champion we fought in the last Map. We fought Mordremoth itself in Dragon Stand. Position, Size, the Fact that this Fight distracted Mordy and also the Fact that “Mouth” didn’t spoke like any Champion would. Every Minion ( including Champs ) has a similar way of talking. This Thing doesn’t match with the Minion speak Patterns . " You dare defy my eternal Will? " No Minion would say something like this.

Although I could not point you to the quote, I was pretty sure I heard/ read that there was an issue with the mega servers involving the new maps, that they were going to address sometime in the near future. Am I remembering correctly? I’m not sure. But that’s how I recall it.

Yep right now the Megaserver is just doing a poor Job. A Friend an I let a Map expire and we both got to different Maps, both who were not what you can call full, but also not really empty. It seems the Megaserver tries to fill every Map at the same Time instead of making a Map full enough so Players can do all Meta Events before filling another Map.
There are many Players on HoT Maps, its just the Mega Server that at the Moment, kittens this up

I think the difficulty is discouraging players from doing it. And the map itself is already not a lot of peoples favorite.

I think it would be wise to make it a little easier so that more people will play it. Super hard challenges are awesome in raids, but open world events should be doable with a map full of pugs.

The most popular one appears to be Auric basin, but even then, I’ve only ever seen enough people there to get all 4 sides done once. Mostly its 2 sides, and sometimes even just 1. Saw VB with 5 Bosses Done 3 Times Today. AB is relatively easy done and my Gildies have done DS on a Random Map with completing the last Event in less than 20 Minutes.
The only thing that is as hard as Anet announced is Tangled Dephts, There are enough who try it and there will be enough who will continue to try it.
There is much more going on than you say. MUCH MORE.

well unless you play on some super secret special servers, thats not the case. maps are pretty empty all the time.

Auric is ok, if you can coordinate, you can do each side with 10 people each, but only if poeple know what to do. But still, often its only 1 or 2 lanes. as for the rest…..

There is no super secret Server I play on. Unless you count EU Servers as super secret. Most of the Time I get on a Map that is busy with doing Events ( organized and even unorganized ) The few cases where I got on a rather empty Map I remembered something the Itzel told me. Amayalli gave us the LFG and the LFG provides.
Really, the LFG is a powerful Tool to fill a Map. I had 2 Maps that were tagged for closing and with the LFG I got the Map really full. ( no closing Tag and noone could join the Map anymore )
If you are encountering just empty Maps than the Megaserver is kitten ing around. Most Players I know don’t have this Problem and the ones who have this Problem are using LFG^^

@ Burtnik: The same was said a few Weeks after Teq was killed. Before it was killed the Tone was like " Noone could ever kill it" after Blackgate killed it " Only the Hardcore Players/Nolifers from Blackgate can kill it" and now it is on Farm for a long Time without being nerfed. Let the People learn the Events they WILL get better and perhaps, you can PUG this Event. It is possible, it just needs Time.

Isn’t Mordremoth also forcibly turning sylvari to his side as well? Just like most Icebrood were turned by force?

If I remember correctly someone in the story (Canach?) said that Mordremoth makes you think that his voices in your head are actually your own thoughts, and that leads you to giving in and listening only to him.

We can clearly see that while doing the achievement in Rata Novus to talk to the wounded Mordrem guard. Who clearly says that the voice is quieter here. And for a few seconds you talk to him normally, talking to the sylvari that he once was.


Canach also described it as being a big Fist that is squeezing him Mentally. Mordy actually tries to force Sylvari to turn. Our Sylvari Char was very close to turning. On one Point he/she lost consciousness for a short Time only to wake up and having a Mordrem in front giving the PC Orders where our Char asks why he/she should obey but in a Tone that was more curious instead of showing resistance.

And at the last Mission, our Sylvari Char was just one Step from becoming a Slave. The Game also showed this by flagging Mordy as Ally and our two companions as Neutral Mobs ( yellow Tagged )

Do we know why Mordys Vioce was quieter near Rata Novus? Our Sylvari Char also commented that his Call is quiet near Rata Novus. What is causing this? Something in this City that is weakening the Link between Minion and Dragon?

I think the difficulty is discouraging players from doing it. And the map itself is already not a lot of peoples favorite.

I think it would be wise to make it a little easier so that more people will play it. Super hard challenges are awesome in raids, but open world events should be doable with a map full of pugs.

I think what we saw in his Mind, was how Mordremoth looked before becoming an Elder Dragon. Why else should he choose this Form?^^
We know that Elder Dragons can be replaced but we don’t know how they came to Existence, perhaps he replaced another ED who reigned over the Jungle.

Ahh yes Zerging. Everytime I see a Zerg having PRoblems with a Mob or just banging on an HP Wall I see in Map Chat " We need more People here " ignoring the Fact that there are already too many People here. The battle for Lion’s Arch a long Time ago had the first big example of Zergs making it even harder for everyone, like spawning LvL 84 Elites who are Oneshotting everyone because of being so overly scaled.

Overscaling here is a Problem in doing Events. Not only get we Champs of, already, deadly Mobs, but the Break Bar also scales really high. Having 5 to 10 Man doing an event isn’t that much a Problem. But more than 10? Good Luck getting the Break Bar done. And telling the Map isn’t helping it does the opposite. Sadly most People didn’T know this or ignore this fact

Agree. Maybe they will fix it when they figure out how to make some more money out of it. Considering how many people are experiencing them lately and no official word about it, it’s clear where their priorities lie.

Clearly fixing the Crashes. Its not as easy as some People think. It seems that there are various Reasons for the Crashes. Some People never crash others have more Creashes. I for myself have only encountered Crashes in the South Auric Basin Events.

And to that official Word. Its no surprise. What should they tell?`" We are working on it"? Of course they are but this " We are working on it" won’t be enough for many here to cease their anger. Have seen it in the Past, so doesn’t surprise me.

They actually established the Elder Dragons as being less physical beings a long time ago in Edge of Destiny. A line that immediately caught my eye from the book about Kralkatorrik is describing him as “more magical than physical”.

Which made me a bit disappointed in Zhaitan’s final fight even more than just the spamming a key.

I think the Mordremoth Fight is what Anet wanted the Zhaitan Fight to be. It was stated that this Fight was cut short because they hadn’t the Time and it felt like the Confetti Shooting was just an intermission Phase with at least another Phase where we got to kill the Magical Being itself instead of just the Body.

- it would have made more sense to leave the Shadow as a premonition of Zhaitan. Another champion of Mordremoth could easily have been introduced to fill the same role in LS2. And the nightmare court have essentially gone unused in the story anyway.

A Dragon made out of Plants to be a premonition of Zhaitan who has nothing to do with Plants? Makes Sense.
Sry but the Shadow was the first Hint of the Existence of a Jungle Dragon. It had nothing to do with Zhaitan.

I’d like to chime in that I just saw the world boss / event in the final zone and…


I’m satisfied now! Because Mordremoth does, in fact, have a large jungledragon-esque body he was in control of. In the personal story we basically killed his brain, while his body was “everywhere” else, including the giant world boss. The real Mordremoth fight occurs in the final zone, IMO.

I also like to think the two fights are happening at the same time – pact vs his body, player vs his brain. It would explain why he seemed distracted.


The fight against the Mouth of Mordremoth is no different from the fight against the Mouth of Zhaitan who is just a Dragon Champion and not Zhaitan himself. Of course it’s logical for an Elder Dragon to have it’s Mouth type Champion funnel the Magic it’s devoured into the part of the Dream where Mordremoth’s real body is located since the Mouths of Zhaitan are next to Zhaitan’s lair in Arah.


Trahearne’s death was obviously fan service to the people who complained about his being like Kormir and wanted him dead. Of course considering the complaints about Kormir who wants to assume that Kormir herself is going to die in a later Expansion?


The biggest Problem of the Mouth of Mordremoth just being a Dragon Champion is its Size. Lets be Honest, this Thing is bigger than Zhaitan itself and Zhaitan wasnt small. Also this Boss is located exactly where Mordremoth itself is. While it is called Mouth it is safe to assume that this Thing is Mordys Main Body as an Elder Dragon. I would say it is the same Thing that we saw in the Cutscene after the Breachmaker drilled into the Lions Arch Leyline. What I see here is. The Pact is fighting against Mordremoths Main Body while our Group at the same Time is killing its Brain so he couldn’t regrow. ( It wasn’t his Body we attacked it was his Mind )
He was distracted in the last Mission, where he said that Armies wouldn’t stop him and the Dragons Stand Meta is the only Thing where I see an Army there.

Well the Problem is. This Thing is bugged. I had to unbug it to get Sign Cutting done. What I have done was: Getting on another Map. Quitting the Episode, activating Episode 13 and then activating Sign Cutting, then go to Tangled Depthes.

Had to do this a few times but finally it worked for me.

To be honest. An MMO Release without a Crapstorm would’ve been too good to be true but it was expected. Everyone has different Expectations of the Game and so it is bound to create a Crapstorm where People are rude and arguing with Reason won’t get you anywhere.
Its normal in the First few Weeks that you see mostly negative Stuff and most of the negative Stuff is about one Thing.

What I just don’t understand is one Thing. The CoF Farm now. I’ve seen many People who complained about the amount of XP needed for the Masteries saying that they aren’t about getting everything on a Silver Platter or handed over instantely and now? Guess next Time I should throw this as an Argument everytime someone says that he denies that he wants to get everything on a Silver Platter. ( Just hope that the ones here complaining are reasonable enough to not use is and then saying Stuff like this )

First. If everything is oneshotting you than you made something wrong. Many People are probably doing things in Zerker Gear, which IS Glass Cannon Gear.

Second: Look at the Enemy and its Level. If its Elite or LvL 84 then its overscaled because of too many Players at an Event.

Third: Learn your Enemies, watch them. See what they can do and use this to your Advantage. Knowing your Enemy here is Golden. If you don’t know what the Mobs can do and if you aren’t sure that you can survive it use Stats that give you a bit more Defense. Oh and Normal Mobs themselves don’t oneshot. I play a Thief and I never got oneshotted by a normal Mob ( not even the Snipers )

Fourth: The Axemaster Boss is hitting you for One Million. But this is Part of the Mechanic. I fought this one in the Beta and we got it killed frequently. And yes it had the same Ability. We used CC to interrupt the One Shot Cast. Now he has stealth and the Descriptions says that you should learn Nuoch Stealth Detection to find him, so unless you have Stealth Detection, don’t bother with him. ( Same with the Triple Boss/ Mushrooms and the Patriarch/ Updraft Gliding )

Did the defending and building up camps thing, took the chopper up to the canopy to find a champion that one shot me, not very fun. Tried 3 different choppers/canopies and same thing, this stuff needs to downscale if enough players aren’t around.

The Champs at the Canopy aren’t something that shouldn be doable by just one Person. 5 Persons are enough for most of the Champs.

That first raid boss is definitely going for the highest toughness member, that’s for sure. And you are the one, because of wearing Rabid stats. We have exactly the same thing happened to us.

The last boss aswell , because i saw how they was attacking it and they were almost at the end at the circle , then i stepped in the circle and it went directly TO me without paying attention to the other ones.

Oh you fought the Last Raid Boss? Tell me, how are the Mechanics? How do you fight him, and who is the last Boss?

so, if I understand this right, the people are upset because they are not handed everything right out the gate?

No, I’m upset because ANet said we could unlock the elite spec with the extra effort of core world completion, and 3-days before release, they say we can’t.

Uhhm you can unlock the Elite Spec with extra Effort of World Completion. You “just” need the full 400 to get everything done which includes Skins and I think that the Skin(s) is the really expensive one there for the Elite Spec

The thing is, we don’t know the order of unlocking things. If the skins and what not are mostly toward the late end and/or require a LOT of HP’s compared to skills and traits, things will be fine. But if most are at the beginning, that’s still a lot of HP’s.

I think it is more likely that the Skins and Stuff you don’t need but are nice, are on the End of the Order. Would make Sense to get them when you are fully Specialized. If they are on the last Places then this Crapstorm was…. well a Crapstorm about nothing. If the Expensive Stuff is at the Beginning or some of the Traits are Mega Expensive then we have a crappy Situation. ( And then I’ll complain )

But still. Don’t just overreact now and complain later after Release that Anet is silent again. ( And this will happen if they are going silent again because of too many Crapstorms )
