Reroll Necromancer.
I never played WoW. To be honest that sounds like it’d be great for elitists… why deny them this ability? Perhaps you can explain the downside for me.
Seriously though, people already ask you to ping your gear for PUG CoF runs. Or they can avoid PUGs altogether and just do guild runs… won’t that be great for the community?!The Downside is when they added inspect to WoW, elitism became the standard and the groups that would take anyone became a rarity. It’s the same with a lot of games with Inspect. Give people the tools to be elitist and they’ll be elitist. Elitism is in GW2, but it’s not standard, and if we don’t want it to become the standard, we shouldn’t encourage it.
I can attest to that. This is my main on WoW. As of now, I would be chastised because a.) I have mostly blues, b.) The only purple I have increases my health when it should be agility and c.) This build is meant for single target DPS which is perfect for pvp and bossing but does not rack up numbers like AoE spam.
The thing is that due to elitism, inspect and number counts nobody will want me in their group. It doesn’t matter if I am always in the top 5% of DPS at bosses (which counts more than trash mobs) or can kill anything or anyone I kitten well please by myself because my gear is trash and I am useless in a group according to them.

No because that would only increase workloads.
How do the Thief vs Mesmer fights usually fair?
Depends on how much each know about the other’s class.
It doesn’t matter how legendary they look because the only legendary part of a legendary is the legendary amount of time and effort you waste in it. All they are are skins. Besides, the only cool looking skin is Twilight and even that can’t be used by every profession.
Waste? what else is there to spend gold on other than skins?
Alts, gear sets, gear sets for alts, gems to buy services a/o items from the gem store, influence for one of the guilds you’re in that might need it, etc. I mean hell, you could even be a philanthropist for small struggling guilds or people who on permanent DR.
There is more to this game than JUST obtaining skins.

Or the elitists can play this game for fun which is better for the other 80% of the community.
Very good Thieves dominate the total kitten bracket.
Fixed it for you.
Nah, a water bird on the 2 key could have a good K/D ratio down in the bean bracket.
Unfortunately, the game doesn’t match your vendetta-laced view of how professions perform.
Fixed quote is fixed.
Related picture is related.
When it comes to interacting with other players, you should always act with honour, respect, and the spirit of teamwork. Lying about your gear to get into a group is dishonourable, ignoring the opinions of your team is disrespectful, and running a selfish setup so you don’t pull your weight… that’s just not okay at all. ANet should not be encouraging such activities, since it erodes the positive feeling in the community, and this is extremely harmful to what the game is all about. Whether they do so by implementing mechanics like magic find gear (which encourages players to drop useful stats for a greater reward) or NOT implementing an inspect system (which would improve player communication) is irrelevant.
I think what I’ve said above is generally agreeable, so the real debate here is whether or not an inspect function would actually facilitate greater player communication. It seems that those in the NO camp are afraid that it would further empower elitists to shut their minds to the possibility of 1) non-meta builds still being good and 2) people running sub-optimal builds being valuable team members.
My question to you is: Why do you want to play with these people? They’re trying to enforce their playstyle upon you (with good reason, as it is demonstrably effective), and you’re stubbornly saying that you don’t want that. If neither of you is willing to change your opinion, you don’t belong in a party together! Don’t lie just to stay in the group!
If I form a group with the specific intent of having everyone running full berserker’s, I will not be happy to carry some randomer wearing magic find… any more than you would if you formed a CoF path 1 and then people voted for path 3.
Look at WoW and how their inspect function has allowed elitists to pick and choose who gets to play with them.
Mesmer / Engineer / Necromancer are the best in the competent bracket, depending on what you’re trying to accomplish.

That’s all celestial is good for. Explorer’s and Traveler’s does not offer the same bonuses.
High health doesn’t mean kitten without toughness. Although it makes bleeds suck.
They could always add more maps. (Along with your idea)
I say petition my idea. Make poison VIABLE!
Lol I don’t use stealth.
EDIT: In all seriousness, I think that kid might have been in the lower skill tiers for thieves. From my experience, using stealth as your only survival tool causes you to almost rely on stealth, which is fragile, to survive.
OP just proved that stealth-heavy thieves get kittened easily with a long Revealed. It is also some evidence towards the “thieves are squishy as kitten” claims.
zach…u dont stand a chance in wvw to survive without stealth. that is a fact. unless there is a rule in wvw wher eyou can only fight 1 v 1…..
I do fine in WvW with the build I have now give-or-take a few switch outs. Thieves have dodging and blinds too you know.
i didnt mean it was horrible. but in my condi build it has mass evades mass blinds …2800 gap closer in an instant…..mas condi removal…best healing ….high hp…
And mine can’t be hit 90% of the time even without stealth. :P
I am not worried bout 1-4 people until they spam CC on me.
i hear you but CC is the name of the game in wvw. spike doesnt matter. if you get a PVT zerg vs a zerk zerg the PVT will always win bc dmg stacks with other dmg and so do most conditions/Aoes etc. in wvw im DYING to make a build i can use to fight with that i can use 1 v 1 and 1 v 2 but also in a larger crowd. d/d evade condi removal build of mine (non mainstream) was amazing…however i found out the evades were a downfall. 1/4 and 1/2 second evades on 1 second and 1.25 second skills/attacks/utilities ended up leaving me at a disadvantage. i was vulnerable for the same amount of time the evade works…but right after when the skill is finishing . during this time i cant evade again…block or move…i ahve to wait for the skill to finish. you might not think that .5 or .75 seconds is long but when 20 v 20 or 50 v 50 is chain casting dmg / aoes you will get 3-4 hits easily in that small period of time. where as stealth can allow you to stay on ground and time your dodge rolls (which seem to have the longest evade per activation time in the entire game).
Which is why I stay in small havoc groups. Whenever my group gets in a skirmish, I save my dodges for big hits and use Death Blossom as a parry for smaller hits. It really is all timing for my build. The synergy in it just makes combat go a little faster.
Longer poison.
It should be “Increase poison damage by 100%.”
Lol I don’t use stealth.

I love how people complain that 1 hit can cause 9k+ damage but then you have Warriors that can hit 2k+ 8 times in a row and I barely hear kitten about them.
Beacose click F1 is very difficult. Oh wait enemy dodge !!! “Dont worry CD 6 sec”
I heard pressing dodge takes skill.

Trenchcoats = epic.
No reason to complain.

I just want to know how to do it 8D
First you make a Clone of yourself. Then you use Blinding Powder to kill everyone around you twice with the stealthkill trait. Then you and your clone backstab the target.
REF: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/Exploits-oh-fun/first
I run Rabid with a slight mix of Carrion.
At least you didn’t die. lol
If it was one, then they would not be within a second because of revealed. Backstab > Revealed for 3-4 seconds (I forgot) > stealth > backstab.
Two thieves maybe?
Compared to Runescape’s micro-transaction store, I’de say the Gemstore is an example of price gouging.
Ah, gemstore prices are a separate matter – i do agree they should be reduced at least a bit. Also, so far the variation and quality of stuff in the store is not that good as well.
All of those however do not affect the answer to the OP’s suggestion. Anet does not set Gem prices. We do. I certainly do not want them to try manipulating that (as i don’t believe it would result in anything good).
Just throwing some crap out there just in case anet actually reads this… >.> and this.
Dude… you have engineers and thieves telling you L2P. Perhaps you should to stop arguing with people from your own class and listen to whatever advice they are giving you.
Yeah lets aid build discrimination!
What they don’t realize is that people are leaving for other games because of an unpolished game and lack of endgame content (and yes there is an endgame. Its called max level.)
That makes sense. You still hit the nail on the head, though. Thieves have been screaming for rifles forever.
That’s alot of hours.
OP knows thieves pretty well. =_=
VeryDisturbingly suspicious….I have all 8 classes with 100% world completion. My main atm is my warrior.
“at the moment”…. EXTREMELY suspicious.
Living Story > Ironing out the game.
Courtesy of reddit user iogic, member of Desolation Vanguard [DVG], not myself. It’s the highest number I’ve seen so far, but if anybody can get this guy’s warrior to the crow’s nest in Labyrinthine Cliffs, he’ll probably be able to push it even higher.
Dingle won this thread.

I do not agree with your Sig of Shadows or your Caltrops at all lol. Caltrops a trap? Hell no, you must not play condi thief lol
Well I do and i would like caltrops to turn into a torment based combo field. Pwitty pweeze? :3
Let’s be honest. There are not alot of people who will bust their kitten for a Legendary. Most of them say that they are ugly. Others think that making one is too impractical vs. making and exotic with the same stats.
As for me, I do not see myself even working for one anytime soon so I am going to waste my free badges on ascended gear when I get the laurels.
5 characters. 1 Lvl 80.
I hate downed state. Every time I am downed I take my hands off the keyboard and maybe go get a drink.
Complaining about people letting you win….
4.3m at one point. I hit the corner of a rock.
I kill them just fine. :o
