I cannot do further steps of HoT Sign Cutting story quest… cannot interact with the sign from Rox. Bug occurred after the patch that removed mastery requirement. I really want to finish off the story. It has been a week …

Had this happen to me as well. I zoned out of that map. Went back to previous chapter and then restarted the sign cutting chapter again. That seemed to fix this for me..

I’ve upgraded and am unable to activate the elite specialization skills for my Ranger or my Guardian. The skills show in the appropriate tab but unable to switch to it in skill specialization and the bow for Guard and staff for Ranger show as not for this class of character.

Have you set the elite trait line in your build tab? I ran into same thing and found out that only the 3rd trait line can be selected as your elite. You can basically train all the skills but until you change your build traits you won’t be able to equip or use the new skills.

Last story fight a rift spawned out in the air. Unlike canach in the picture I cannot walk on air. I fell to my death until my armor was broken trying to get to it and had to restart entire thing after 35 minutes into it..

Did this hero point a few times. Now I think the first time I did it I did get the 10 hero points for it but it still shows as earn 10 hero points instead of hero points earned.. At least I think I got credit the first time..

Happened to me as well.. Wasn’t sure who or what was hitting me but it was annoying.

I can’t even enjoy wvw anymore.. There are bugged NPCs that shoot at nothing and it keeps some of our towers and keeps constantly contested..

There are tons of loot bags that are not mine and I can’t pick them up that are scattered all over the ground after a fight.

and now this. Since HoT dropped I put in about 2 hours total of wvw. Didn’t take me more than 5 minutes to see these bugs..

It’s amusing. The other month people were up in arms because Mike O’Brien insinuated that very few people played the WvW game mode exclusively. Now when you ask where all the WvW players are, you’ll be told “they’re in PvE.” Guess he was right afterall.

Heyo! I’d like to introduce you to a guy – me! I am a hardcore WvWer! I exclusively played WvW during its heyday.
Due to a plethora of reasons, I have quit WvW (and thus GW2) in early 2014. I am not the only hardcore/exclusive WvWer who quit. Far from it. Guess who is mostly left now? Non-hardcore players, who only do WvW like 5% of their game time as a novelty thing. Because those who only did WvW have quit long ago because ANet does a p-poor job at WvW.

Seriously, you could have arrived at that yourself.

Always anets fault. Never the players. You’re part of the problem in my eyes. You quit close to 2 years ago yet still lurk the forums and spit out your hate towards anet and this game mode. I feel bad for new players that come to these forums. Forum is full of people that don’t even play anymore yet still hate on this game every second they can..

I was fine with this game mode never changing but NOOOOOOOOOO. People wanted changes and now will not adapt to any change. I saw this coming after the few test events we had and that was just temp stuff yet the rage in these forums was real.. Players is what is starting to ruin this game mode for me and nothing else..

The new pve content is actually challenging. Mobs there give me better fights than 99% of the players I run into in wvw. Plus they don’t nike away when they get below 50% health. Its no longer boring stack here and spam 1 to win. You would know all this if you actually still played then you might actually realize why wvw is so empty ATM.

Just wanted to mention that the repair dipping into the ‘Not Responding’ state is normal. Be patient and just let it finish on its own.

Not sure if that will fix the problem for you though – nothing seems to work consistently to fix this problem for everyone. Some things help, others do not.

It eventually finished and everything looks OK now. I was unable to load into maps and that part is fixed. This whole thing started for me last night trying to load into a map. Just hope it doesn’t happen again.

No but it’s about making a point. We must not allow them to even think about starting such things.
Everybody has to be equal in a pvp mode. They are already violating this rule with gear sets, but at least every player could obtain them equally. Not in this case.

Had the same problem with Cutting Signs as mention in this thread. What I did to fix it was cancel the chapter, went back to the chapter before it and then restarted the chapter. I also zoned to a different map before resetting everything and trying again.

They changed the pve gate for the story but as far as I can see no hero points are behind gates. You’ll need some friends though since some of them are semi tough.

That was just for one particular mastery (the one with invulnerability to mushroom poisons). You still need gliding, updrafts and mushroom jumping to get to the vast majority of HPs.

Ahh yeah. One good thing is that gliding and jumping mushrooms are the first masteries so they are the fastest ones to get.

Map confusing me still and my biggest issue is just figuring out how to get to some of the HP heheh :P

Imo condition duration is always worse than condition damage in wvw simply due to the huge amounts of condi cleanse in zergs, so the new stats won’t really make a lot of difference.

This is how I always saw it too. There is so much cleansing or should be in large fights, that condi duration is pretty useless in large scale fights.

Answer: most, you have to grind massive amounts of XP simply to unlock the Masteries you need to GET AROUND THE WORLD!

You can get to Orr at level 1 in GW2 if you can avoid dying.

Point I was making was if you think doing events is grinding, You have been grinding since you started to play gw2. Seeing as to level up you run around maps and do events. People have been “grinding” silverwastes for months now have they not?

Would you have been happier if Anet raised the level cap past 80 and actually added a new tier of gear? Basically making all your current gear subpar to any of the new gear added. Also to get your new gear you actually had to do something over and over again for only a “chance” at a new piece of gear dropping.

Chance is the keyword there. If you quote me and say you are doing events over and over we will never see eye to eye and have a different definition of what grinding is..

Xpac drops.. WvW seems empty.. Guess everyone does actually play other game modes and “nobody” just plays WvW.

I saved my back piece in my bank but did a quest and got an upgrade part but also do not see it anywhere. Going by some of the posts above there is a collection or achievement for it? So I would guess that once we get all the items the reward would be the upgraded version.

Not in game atm to check though but will look next time I’m online

Fourth: The Axemaster Boss is hitting you for One Million. But this is Part of the Mechanic. I fought this one in the Beta and we got it killed frequently. And yes it had the same Ability. We used CC to interrupt the One Shot Cast. Now he has stealth and the Descriptions says that you should learn Nuoch Stealth Detection to find him, so unless you have Stealth Detection, don’t bother with him. ( Same with the Triple Boss/ Mushrooms and the Patriarch/ Updraft Gliding )

Cool thanks for the tips. I thought it was tied to some mastery but he kept stealthing so much that I didn’t really get to read what mastery I needed.

As for the other mobs in maps so far only thing I’ve been having problems with is fire lol I’m running a guardian so I have some cleanse but man that burn is still OP hah

Actually ran into this boss today. When you get that smoke on you, you are downed when timer on it runs out. He also stealths so he is hard to even follow around to even try to CC. His description mentioned something about his stealth but he did it so much I couldn’t even follow it. Didn’t get much sleep though so I may just be braindead atm.. Only thing I can think of is we need some mastery . There seems to be lots of mushrooms where he is so it may be something to do with the mushrooms.

Anyone actually beat him and care to share?

When stayed on him as much as possible, when his blue bar appeared we spammed CC. Damaged him and then repeated.

I only tried him once. I was busy trying to rez all the others and seemed that we just couldn’t get close to him enough since that smoke stuff seemed to be applied to us faster than I could rez all the downs lol

If you think you are grinding you are trying to rush everything and actually do not even know what grinding means.

You want to know what grinding is? Do the same instance over and over again for a chance at a new piece of gear that will make you better.. When you get that piece of gear go back and do the same instance over and over again for yet another chance to get a piece of gear that you need.. Rinse, repeat for months on end till you have a full set.. The catch here is that to even begin your grind for your new stuff you would of had to grind your old stuff in some instance before this one in the same exact way.

There are so many events that I don’t see how you guys consider it grinding. There is no way you should be complaining about doing dynamic events when the entire core game is based around them in every single map. If you think you are grinding now well you’ve been grinding since day one so you should have expected it..

Jerri Tower in Eternal Battle grounds is constantly Contested.. This NPC next to me in SS keeps shooting at nothing..

Yea I saw these new nodes at camps and inside towers. They seem to work now and give you random mats from each one..

Grind to me is doing the same thing over and over again. All I did was explore the map, do a few events here and there, and in no time I was ready to start the next part of my story. I didn’t even do the same event twice and haven’t even done half the events that pop up since still trying to figure out how to get to everywhere hehe.

I even found a Lord Faren event and laughed so hard!!

We’ve had no updates for a long time so I honestly do not know what people have been doing since the last story ended. As far as I can see most people were farming ::cough:: grinding ::cough:: Silverwastes. Guess you all wanted a new SW map with easy content that you can pretty much just afk and get credit for events.

Hey its empty for me too.. That’s why I’m going to wait a bit and see since I’m sure everyone is in the jungle.. I’ve been in the jungle more myself.. I followed the story since day one and right now I’m sucked into this new story.

I kind of thought this would happen since I’m in a lower tier but I’m going to wait a bit as I hope once people complete story and get what they need for elites they will be back. Only time will tell.

All you PVE’ers been doing since Silverwatse came out is grind that map for hours on end yet you come to complain about grinding new content. LOL

I’m mainly a wvw player but I have done every story in the past. It’s been so long since we actually had a story and now that I started this new story I am hooked on it again. I’m up to prized possesions and WOW is all I am going to say. You brought out my soft side anet LOL

I hear ya. About 15 mins after HoT I saw a reaper running around.. Now I guess he has to grind to unlock stuff but some people are already on these new one. WoW to me was nothing but endless grinds but I only played it for about a year before I got bored of it.

Players that were achievement hunters on one class and used those tomes when they gave HPs will get their elite mastery immediately. Poor kittens like me that played all eight classes at various times or are just starting out are just screwed into doing a lot of grinding if we want to get an elite. I expected some leveling to get these new abilities but not hundreds/thousands of hours worth. Makes me wonder why I came back much less spent $50 for a bunch of content I probably won’t get to.

Someone in another thread already stated they have a fully unlocked dragonhunter.. Now I thought anet didn’t want things unlocked on the first day and I took that as it would still take pve’ers some time to actually unlock stuff..

Doesn’t look to be the case though so I totally agree that something should be done for the people that mainly play WvW. I’m in same boat as the rest of you guys. I only have 1 toon out of 10 that has 100% map and is caught up on the story. 2nd highest is 71% but the rest are between 2% – 10%.

That’s your opinion.. I’m actually enjoying it. Then again I didn’t buy it for the elite specs. I bought it since I got so many hours out of the first game and looks like I will get many more hours out of this one

He seems way easier from the past Halloween events. I was expecting mass downs since I know there are lots of new players but that wasn’t the case.. At least the time I fought him.

At least most of the MMO’s I played in the past have done this. I actually hopped into the WvW map but wanted to do some of the new story so only spent 5 minutes in the new map and got to say I might just turn into a PVE’er for a bit because it has me hooked LOL

Having played my fair share of MMOs dating back to MUDs (closing in on 50 y/o) I can say I don’t remember any expansion pack of any MMO that added on hundreds of hours of game grind per class to open up all the abilities of that class. We aren’t talking about an extra 20 hours of game play per class. If you want to unlock all the elites you would be talking about thousands of hours in this game. THOUSANDS.

Also that new tier of gear in games like WoW doesn’t prevent a player from accessing their full skills and class abilities. A player could easily log 200 hours in WvW to unlock an elite and not even like the way it plays.

When you buy a game, you don’t start at max level. Leveling is actually a part of what you payed for. Same with this expansion. We will have clearly enough time to enjoy our max level/max masteries/max hero points characters before the next expansion!

Thing is when you buy an expansion you already have played the game X number of hours and played these expanded classes in their current form for a massive amount of time. Locking class expansions (not new classes) behind grind walls is the exact opposite of what ANet games used to be about. I am all for leveling a new class and even earning my elites but sticking them behind hundreds of hours of gameplay (WvW gameplay anyway) borders on ludicrous.

Getting a new class all the way to 80 takes way less time than unlocking a single elite.

God, I feel you… WvW is at least 4 – 5k of my 7k hours in Gw2… I was doing some dungeons for like an hour or two… Got bored of that… Mystic flushed some karma gear for linen… Got bored of that real fast… Sold some things and reorganized my bank and character inventories… I’ll come back when WvW is back up, lol. Nothing else keeps my attention like WvW does ):

Because those aren’t the “same” item — they have the same name, but two different IDs. (Some of us have speculated that they intended originally to offer the second one with a different number of levels and then changed their mind.) Of course, it would be better if ANet converted all of the items into the same ID, but … well, that takes extra effort (and QA) and I’d just as soon see that effort put into some new items.

That’s what I figured but it is kind of annoying.. Same thing has happened to my tomes as well. I have a stack of 170 and another stack of 7. They just won’t stack :/
