“becuz”

^^ stuff like that makes it hard to take anything that follows seriously.

Rifle F1 has never been viable 1v1. It’s always been a “he doesnt see me, so I get to 1 shot him” skill. And it still is. Stay in your bush or your zerg, rifle trolls, shoot at someone who cant see you, and collect your loot. If they happen to randomly dodge your win button, hey, sucks for your asthmar.

They don’t need to dodge, because in a large group, they will likely have aegis or protection from the numerous guardians running around nearby. Shooting a killshot into a zerg is a 50/50 chance at best, just on mass buffs. If it was unblockable, then it would actually need you to dodge, as it is, it is far too unreliable.

Warrior is killed for me .

Lol, started using GS again and remembered why it was absolutely horrendous, GS 5 misses 90% of the time on moving targets. People do not even need to dodge they just need to move a bit and dude with gs won’t hit a thing. GS auto is a joke, HB is horrible since people never sit still, whirl means you’ll create distance from your enemy, blade trail is ok though.
GS is really a running away weapon anyways.

there’s a guy called shin on twitch tv who streams a gs warrior

he’s doing very well with a gs even after the patch
i really don’t see what the big deal is
i’m doing fine with my rifle warr as well

guess it’s just a matter of skill
although i do miss my bleed stacks :*(

Riddik can kill a man with a tea cup, but it doesn’t mean that’s an optimal weapon.

Mhm, I am still scratching my head over why they nerfed the greatsword burst skill. Its a low damage attack that was only used for its buff at the start of combat….now we wont have the adrenaline to use it at the start of combat and it gets reduced damage till the enemy is almost dead anyhow.

You know, I never mention warcraft, but for the first time in two years I am going to say it – my warrior back then had execute….and execute actually hurt people when it hit, without hindering any of my other attacks.

Warriors were flat out lied to this patch – the announced buffs were nerfs.

Wait, wait, wait, you’re telling me, right now, that it’s fair to just be able to repeatedly snipe at people with no repercussions? And then you want to complain about balance?!

You missed the part where the warrior stands still for 3 seconds while performing an incredibly obvious telegraph……every time they want to use it.

Rifle barely works and the few people who still use it are likely to give up on it after this change. Not to mention that the removal of bleed from it means that the sword/sword warriors cant use it anymore either. Killshot needed unblockable, or it needed its huge telegraph removed. As it stands, it may as well not exist.

Why did they make it into 50% under 50% instead of the 100% previewed in the feature patch?!

Because the point of some of the changes was to lessen the OPness of the profession. Not increase it.

Lessen the OPness how about make it useless now haha, and simply shift the OPness to other professions.

So your saying being able to hit 5 people with a decently high damaging attack is useless.

Its damage is in no way decent and it eats up all your adrenaline. Not to mention they all need to be in melee with you. This is just a terrible change, no matter how one looks at it.

Apparently this system works really, really well in China. What Anet seems to forget is that what works in China does not always work in the West. A very casual glance at video games popular in China and popular in the West will make that dreadfully clear.

Quoted for truth – I really hate the way this is going.

I was surprised at how horrible the selling process now is and considering how much junk and small, semi-worthless items we have to sell all the time, this is going to be a real chore.

I can only assume that this is intentionally done to slow us, like the “error tying to sell” thing that was built into it. Now I doubt anyone will sell fast enough to see that message ever again.

I would say that you shouldn’t put your hopes on a legendary if you are seeking encouragement and support. While you may have a lot of the needed materials, if you do not have a precursor, then you are looking to be paying 2000 gold or even double that…I`ve lost track of their ludicrous price at the moment.

I would say that your large stock of tier 6 materials is probably going to make you a lot more happiness if you sell it and spend the gold on other things. I did this a while ago when I realised I would never get a precursor, so instead I got myself many nice gemstore skins, bank slots, a full set of asuran cultural heavy armour and goodness knows how many other things.

I`d also suggest looking into getting a decent, social guild. Even when you aren’t playing, their forum chatter can be a valuable and welcome thing that can be accessed online without needing to boot up the game at all.

Commander Tag Changes Feedback [merged]

in WvW

Posted by: chronometria.3708

chronometria.3708

I and my fellow piken square commanders are discussing the colours at the moment and how we should tell our pugs to respond to them. I am keen to use red, for example, for havoc team small unit tactics, whereby a small group is hastily assembled, does a critical job and then disbands.

Of course, there is no point us making “server strategy” for a colour of tag when most of our commanders wont have one, due to the cost. Additionally, if I did, say, buy a red tag, then I would be stuck doing that and would be unable to take another role as I wouldn’t have the other colour (eg emergency defence or guild raid).

A good chunk of us have played since beta and aren’t running around with legendaries, because we don’t find precursors and we get terrible income from wvw. Putting this sort of a barrier on the tags is beyond my comprehension and completely wrecks what should be a good thing for our gamestyle.

chronometria.3708

I can understand a golem disabler trap, as its something I have been suggesting for some time. I don’t like the sound of something that just disables siege, however, especially if it can be placed by attackers to simply shut down a tower’s arrow carts.

It’s already impossible to build defensive siege anywhere near a wall, for fear of AOE or mesmers pulling the user constantly. With this, it may well be that defence becomes impossible.

Why does everyone want to go back to the days of dead or nearly dead zones? Go play a single player then.

The problem is that its incredibly hard to form bonds with the megaserver players you meet. Chances are, you`ll never see them again anyhow and the things that once brought you common ground, such as both having chosen to be on a WvW, or RP server are gone.

On a megaserver, you can be surrounded by people and yet still be isolated.

Theory: Anet trying to remove WP for Mounts?

in Living World

Posted by: chronometria.3708

chronometria.3708

With the megaserver, waypoints became a very poor way to move about, with the “contested, but I cant see the district I am going to to check” problem.

The system is roughly adjusted to work with just one waypoint on a map and mounts would be a good way to move from that waypoint and would also be a huge content and gemstore income generator.

I`m agreeing with the OP that mounts may well be on the way.

I got that far, after the really nasty pre-nerf ninja levels, only to be told I had to stop, go back and grind 400 baubles just to get past a door. Needless to say I and a lot of people just logged off at that point disappointed.

Difficulty I can handle, but grind for its own sake is not welcome, especially when it forces backwards progress.

The PC is now dieing and is now living in a illusion created by the machine. In the end of the story the lights will go white. Refer to the alternate plot of the good Total Recall, the first one.
To be honest having the PC actually go into the machine was a bonehead move. It removed all menace of the machine. I know it is better to show not tell is most cases, but this is brings in two many plot holes. I’d rather analysis what scarlet saw through here drawing and notes than walk into a machine that either killed most who entered it, or turned the only survivor into a raving madwomen. Now that the PC has entered and returned unscaved, it really raises two many questions. To be honest, the story telling is just as poor at season 1.

Well, from what I see most people are thinking this episode is really interesting. I can understand you are not keen on it, but in terms of storytelling, its a vast improvement from what came before and was a genuine surprise and wonder moment.

And why is ascended and its materials untradeable when legendaries are on the auction house.

Its nonsensical and gets more head scratching with every expansion that comes out. Why do we have an auction house at all?

I personally thing the offspring is him and that the zephyrites are dedicated to protecting him on his journey to attain godlike status.

Its interesting that the master of peace says “I am sorry you had to get caught up in my troubles”.

Not our troubles, as in the troubles of the zephyrites as a people, but his personal troubles as if the rest of the zephyrites mean nothing. They are not a part of his journey, they are just helpers or a convenience.

This, added to the dieing zephyrite who lied about the reason for the assassin’s attack on the master of peace suggests that he is involved in something big, perhaps ascending to replace glint.

My money is that the master of peace is glint’s child, having take on human form as a disguise. This would make the zephyrites his fanatical protectors and we did see at least one who died in ceremonial armour, suggesting he had a high guard of some sort.

There are certain things done in an expansion which add replayable content or major changes. Dungeons, not just one, or a path, but several. A new race or class. Several maps.

The problem is we are getting none of these things and likely will never get any of them if things continue as they are. We are basically getting some storytelling machinima type stuff and no real gameplay advances.

I appreciate the story, of course, but when this is introduced and in a day or two everyone goes back to grinding citadel of flame paths once again, you know something has gone wrong.

Is piken alive? If not, what EU server?

in WvW

Piken is like a mighty tiger. It spends long periods just laying in the shade, watching as other, more active servers skip around on the plains. Every so often, however, it is roused into fierce action, taking down beasts twice its size through a combination of tenacious nature and savage skill.

Similarly to the tiger, other servers will gang up on piken, knowing that this powerful predator can sometimes be repelled if assailed from all sides. Despite this, piken will not always retreat – instead bitterly lashing out at foes, dealing them terrible wounds despite their numbers and forcing them to win their victory at great cost.

On rare occasions, piken has an off-month and advertises cornflakes or is a man in a tiger costume, entertaining children at the amusement park. During these dark periods, the server enters a low mood and is pushed about by tourist servers who come and take pictures of Piken in its sad state, wondering if the rumours of its savage strength were true.

Still, always, the server bounces back, because even through the dark times, it has a core of older, grim veteran players who, while slow to anger, will come out of their torpid state to resurrect the true soul of the piken wildcat that it may fight again.

We also like it when you stroke us behind the ears.
