The only people QQing are people that have a history of doing so on the forums.
I guarantee you haven’t even done half the things you could be doing in the expac yet.

So? You act like Anet hasn’t given us plenty of reasons to complain over the last 3 years.

What really disappoints me.

I don’t understand why people are upset either, I got my elite spec fully unlocked early Sunday and didn’t start playing until late Friday evening and had all the Masteries required for story on Saturday.

Its literally opening weekend and people are saying because they didn’t get something instantly its suddenly a “grind.” Everything I did to get my Masteries and Elite Spec was new content – no repetition of events or areas – just exploring and the Story.

The expansion is beautiful, the mobs are fun to fight, the maps are huge with so mmany hidden fun bits, the meta events are well designed and the story was pretty good too. Clearly a lot of work has gone into it and people are too busy obsessing over not having access to a GM trait instantly that they are missing the fun.

If this is how people react to all the work put in I hate to imagine how the devs are feeling – because it isn’t a fair representation of what we got… Mob mentality or just too much hand holding in the past? And people who say “you only are having fun because you played the game more” are basicly saying “you have fun the more you play” (‘less is more’ only works for makeup).

Oh look, another one who thinks the problem is that people didn’t get insta access to elite specs. Seriously can you read the complaints before posting first?

Virtually every complaint I have read regarding elite spec cost of 400 pts is complaining about the steepness of it and the need for it to be reduced, NOT ELIMINATED but reduced so that people can obtain then in reasonable time (especially those of us, and there are many, who dont PVE)

hell i even threw in some napkin maths 4 or 5 posts above yours to give some idea of the issue and still you couldn’t understand it…..

Yes, but you’re ignoring the fast that many MANY people have world complete and those people already have over 200 points. I was halfway to my elite specialization on five characters.

If they lowered the cost significantly I’d have had it in a day. And that’s bad for the game, not good for the game.

Because there needs to be some feeling of progression. It’s one of the biggest complaints about this game prior to the patch.

Anet doesn’t make decisions about a few people. They make decisions about the game as a whole.

I’m not sure if you’re actually serious when you say letting people play (not having elite specs locked behind an absurd grind) the way they want to play is bad for the game. Because that used to be Anets motto.

The grind only exists for people who’re in a rush. My tip: don’t rush and don’t impose deadlines upon yourself (aka: “I need every mastery point before wednesday”). Just play the game and progression will happen naturally.

good luck & have fun!

Yeah, how dare people want to play with new specs. How dare they!

No rushing past the things you couldn’t care less about to get to the things you do care about! What is wrong with you people!?!?!

I bet you’d buy max lvl character boost if you were playing wow, and then complain that it didnt boost you to the new max lvl when a new expansion was released.

How much do you want to bet? I have nothing against leveling slowly. It’s the fact that to get anywhere you actually want to go you have to do something else first.

If the time investment actually served a purpose other than to stretch out the content I’d be perfectly fine with that.

But it doesn’t. And it’s blatantly obvious.

P.S. I got a free character boost when I bought WoD last year. Played the boosted character for about 4 days then leveled up another character the old fashioned way because I actually enjoyed the leveling process. Invested a lot more time in the leveled up character than the boosted one by a large margine.

So how much were you betting?

Wait for raids then

Yeah I’m 132.87898% (I did the math) sure that raids will fix all the complaints people have about HoTs and fix all the content they intentionally ruined to make HoTs look more appealing.

Astute observers might notice that I’m being sarcastic. Raids won’t fix any of the things they broke on purpose to get people to buy the expansion.

If raids actually have decent rewards (I honestly doubt they will, I remember how dungeons were for the first year..) and are accessible to people who don’t run in dedicated groups then that will actually highlight how broken everything else is. Intentionally so.

They thought that kitten was a good idea back then and they apparently think that kitten is still a good idea now.

They nerfed Orr farming spots because people were trying to create farming spots where they weren’t intended to exist by stalling and and intentionally failing certain events.

Lets get the entire story okay? It’s not like they did it just to wreck peoples fun.

That being said the nerf to dungeon loot is a bit disappointing but not unexpected.

Anyways, I’m sure there will be new lucrative events and places to kill in the new areas and raids and whatever else.

People who speed level aren’t going to have as good a grip on the class, and especially not as good a grip on the more unusual skills.

Uhm. That literally doesn’t make any sense, you know that right?

Why does it matter if you learn the class as you level it up or you learn at after you’ve rushed to 80? Unless I’m missing something and depending on how fast you are at leveling up “the hard way” a person who rushes to 80 will actually be able to learn the class a lot faster.

Not only that, but if you rush to 80 you’ll actually be able to play around with all the trait combos sooner.

Different strokes for different folks. It’s fine if you want to take your time leveling up but it literally doesn’t make any sense to say that you’ll learn the class better by doing so.

Might needs toning down.

It would just make some fights longer but what benefit does this have on the game?

More challenging content. Less professions left outside of the meta. More diversity of builds. More easy to ballance.
25 stacks represent too much % from damage output.

This is the nerf berserker mindset we’ve seen so much of in the past. Nerfing specs and boons won’t make the game more challenging, it will just make it more tedious.

The game won’t get more challenging until until Anet decides to completely overhaul enemy AI and how they react to players.

Exactly, it’s the simple-minded AI that is not challenging. I would like Arena to incorperate smart AI that changes their attacks base on the situation like how players do. I would also like to incorperate multiple bosses at the same time instead of the traditional single boss fight. Imagine if 5 players vs 5 legendary bosses in an arena for the last fight. That would be epic.

I might agree with you about the 5 legendary boss thing but they couldn’t be anywhere near as strong as the typical legendary mobs we see elsewhere in the game.

Might needs toning down.

I was having issues with the launcher crashing with the same c0000417 exception and it’s downloading now without crashing.

The target should look something like this:

Hopefully this helps.

“oh can you guys also add in an area where we can show our support for the banning of obtaining a slow loris as a pet?”

That is a bad analogy and not comparable to what LGBTQA people have had to deal with.

I love that Anet is and has been as inclusive in their world’s lore for same sex couples, transgender, physically disabled, etc but seriously. Enough. They don’t have to add literally every marginalized group into their lore just because they exist in our world and are marginalized there.

You’re contradicting yourself, and also, is that a problem?

Should they model and add in someone with Downs Syndrome? Perhaps someone struggling with Schizophrenia?.

…Again, is that a problem?

All people want is representation. I’m not saying rainbow dye is the absolute best way to do it, though it doesn’t hurt. But when almost all you see in media is one specific type of person, when there’s so much incredible diversity in the world, it becomes, well. A bit of a downer to be in one of those marginalized groups. You know what marginalization means, yes?

If all people want is representation then they already have that in game.

There are already same sex couples.

But that is not happening here. What is happening is people asking for special attention, not representation.

Our memories are fine, and insulting other players for not sharing your negative world view doesn’t lend it more weight.

Even if your assumptions about ArenaNet are 100% correct, badgering other players for expressing appreciation for something positive is graceless, and matching good faith with scorn is counterproductive.

Such behavior is self-defeating and only encourages more of the same.

I’m honestly not sure why people feel compelled to thank anet for doing something that should have been done in the first place and shouldn’t have required a massive protest from it’s community.

Whether or not it should have been done in the first place is a matter of opinion, and clearly ArenaNet’s original opinion was that it didn’t need to be.

When players objected, they moved quickly to accommodate them and changed their policy the very next business day.

When someone does something nice, it is customary to thank them. That’s why people are thanking them.

It’s not a big mystery.

They didn’t do it to be nice no matter what words they chose to use.

They did it because they were getting a lot of negative press and pre order numbers weren’t hittng the numbers they want.

That’s the only reason they did it and it’s the only reason they caved and changed things in the past.

Notice how NPE and the redone trait unlock system stayed in place? Because no major game news sites call them out on how bad they were.

Unlike the flame kissed armor shenanigans and the changes they were going to make to the gem sore.

Major gaming sites jumped all over them for those things and what do you know? They got changed.

We as a community apparently have very short term memories.

Especially when it would have cost them literally nothing to do it in the first place.

Anet caving in to pressure doesn’t change the fact that they thought they could get away with it to begin with and no kind words from them changes that.

With GW2 they have a history of kittening up (flame kissed armor, gem store revamp are the first two that come to mind) and only fixing things after extreme community backlash and major gaming sites reporting on the issues. So once again, they do not deserve thanks.

I doubt they knew so many fans would be angered by it. They likely thought it was a good way to get more people to buy the expansion.

The problem is, Anet now has a problem that they only care about new players and even some of the most loyal GW players are feeling like its now obvious they will never be catered to or even thought of going forward. Anet clearly made it their goal to focus solely on new players and now it even comes off like they don’t care about veterans at all.

Its likely somewhat true, although I do think they care about gemshop purchases.

Having said all that, its truly irritating to hear some fans pretty much insulting ones that are annoyed at Anet for this. Its fans like that that are responsible for gaming companies being as greedy and lazy as they are these days. Pretty soon companies will be able to start charging for patches at this rate, since most gamers are willing to roll over and take anything as long as they get to play what they want.

That is patently false. People giving game publisers and devs money when it’s not deserved via pre orders and early access and dlc are what is responsible for companies being greedy and lazy.

“Well they already gave us our money, we’ll just ship a broken product and fix it after launch. In the meantime lets work on cutting some stuff out of the game to sell as dlc, too”.

You do realize we are discussing the pre-purchase of HoT that includes early access, right? You just said that was part of the problem, which is why I pointed it out. Giving Anet money already even though they haven’t earned it yet is precisely one of the problems with the gaming community as a whole. Too many gamers are so eager to just throw money at a company, that the company hardly has to earn it anymore, and thus they can just release something thats not what it could be, and add on to it later through DLC/Gem shop purchases etc.

Gaming companies rely on good faith of fans and exploiting it by dangling carrots in front of them and constantly getting them to look forward to the next release. If you think there isn’t a problem with companies releasing games that are broken without launch day patches, then Idk. Its a terrible disservice to gamers because it ensures that companies will never have to truly put out their maximum effort, just enough to satisfy diehard fans that will buy it regardless.

Okay, well this part

“Having said all that, its truly irritating to hear some fans pretty much insulting ones that are annoyed at Anet for this.”

Led me to believe you were talking about the players kittening on forums being responsible for the greed/laziness. I guess that’s my misunderstanding, I totally misread what you said.

That’s my bad.

I honestly would not be surprised to discover that the current situation was not only foreseen but orchestrated as a means to implement a “premium” style rewards system similar to the Chinese client.

What better way to add something that you know would drive players away than to instigate a situation where many are literally demanding for something like it to now be added?

This practice has been used throughout history by businesses and governments alike to bring about conditions where, not only are the people no longer actively fighting against something being a certain way, they are actually demanding for it to become that way.

Basically:
Step 1: Make veterans feel like they are not as valued as new players buying the new game version
Step 2: Let the internet blow up over the created situation for 7-10 days
Step 3: Reveal that a “Veteran Appreciation Paths” system will be put in place to help show the veteran players that they are, indeed, valued by the company

  • “Veteran Appreciation Paths” adds paths that grant rewards based on different factors
  • “Cherished Supporter Path” has an incremental list (to get item 5 on the list you first need to buy enough gems to get 1-4) that includes items from a pool of time/RNG-gated gem store and in-game items, no longer available skins (tribal), unlocking NPC exclusive armor skins and outfits, discontinued gem store skins (bunny ears, molten/aetherblade weapon skins), and exclusive alternate versions of gem store skins (white wings)…mainly everything players have been begging for…that are awarded/unlocked for free based on the number of gems purchased with real world money over the life of the account – For those who support the game with real money
  • “Path to the Heart of GW2” path has an incremental list that includes a small pool of exclusive stuff as well as various always-available gem store items of medium to high value that are awarded/unlocked for free based on the number of achievement points earned on the account. Current achievement rewards are integrated into this reward path – For those that support the game through active gameplay.

Or something like that. Who knows. ANet only said that they will never add the premium reward thing that is in China’s client to the NA/EU version of the game. However, they never said anything about never adding any kind of premium reward…just that we will never see one identical to the one used in China. So technically they won’t be lying. Always pay heed to the way statements/promises are worded. In fact, this may have all been a scheme to justify adding one in due to some players now begging for something to show that being a veteran player and supporter of the game means something to ANet.

Who knows. I don’t consider there to be much of anything that can be seen as beneath a company any more when money is on the line.

Who has said they want anything remotely similar to the premium stuff the chinese got? No one that I’ve seen.

I’m sure some Anet employees expected some outrage, but probably nothing on this scale, especially when several notable websites reported on it.

This is the fault of NCsoft though, since they determine the pricing, and possibly the packaging.

Except for Anet has always maintained that they are an independant entity and NCsoft had no say in what happens within the company. NCsoft was basically only their publisher and supplied the bankroll.

But maybe that isn’t true any more, so who knows for sure.

The "entitlement" meme needs to stop

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: fellyn.5083

fellyn.5083

The entitlement meme will stop when people stop whining about how they are entitled to more than they are.

As a player, you are entitled to get exactly what you paid for. If you paid for the core game, you are entitled to the core game. If you paid for gems and bought things with those gems, you are entitled to the things that you bought with those gems. If you buy the HoT base kit at $50, you are entitled to the things listed in that base kit.

Nothing more.

If you are whining about how ANet has “betrayed” you or “owes” you anything, then that is entitlement, and if you don’t like being called out on that, then stop being that.

And in the mean time we’re perfectly entitled to tell Anet that what they’re currently offering is not worth the price they’ve put on it.

If you don’t like that then you don’t have to read the threads about it.

fellyn.5083

Alright, I can see the gripe about not getting a character slot with the expansion, considering we are getting a new class.

However, a new slot isn’t a ‘standard’ feature with the base expansion for most games. Take WoW for example, WotLK introduced the Death Knight, but didn’t offer an expansion to the number of characters you could have on a given server (BogOtter brought up this point in his youtube discussion about the expansion price).

Yes, it would be nice if they tossed one in as a ‘bonus’ in the standard pack. They could potentially still do this, but I highly doubt it would happen. There would be even more of a kittenstorm if they did.

Uhm. Literally every single other Guild Wars (outside of prophecies and GW2, both of which were the vanilla base game) game Anet has ever released gave away free character slots with the purchase even for the most basic version.

Factions? Yep. Got a free character slot when I purchased that game.
Nightfall? Yep. Got a free character slot when I purchased that game.
Eye of the North? Yep. Got a free character slot when I purchased that game.

I feel like this is the only relevant thing we can actually compare the situation too.

Traditionally Anet has given away character slots when they release a new product. So there is far more precedent for Anet giving character slots away with their games than there is for them not doing it.

Until now, of course.

Edit: Oh? And the kicker, those products were not only cheaper but offered far more content, at least just going by what they’ve shown and told us so far. And not only that but it didn’t take them 3 kittenin years to produce those pruducts too.

picture above should tell you to buy HoT or not if you are a decent person. and overall.. im just afraid Anet will become same like NCsoft. that company totally ruined Aion. greed greed greed. thats what destroyed that game. so i just honestly hope Anet wont become the same as those guys. i feel bad for those devs that truly worked their kitten off on the update.. and now some guy just tagged the prices and caused all this drama. :/ gl devs. you are still great and we love you. just not those that set the prices and do all these dirty things.

http://i.imgur.com/1h0wSaL.png

Unbalanced factions (elyos almost always heavily outnumbered asmodians on most servers) and an extremely grindy and a punishing crafting system is what killed Aion. Not greed.

And since it is a pvp centric game that meant one side got stronger easier which tilted the faction balance even more and so on. That’s why they had and still have Amodian call to arms.

Also they had no cash shop until it went f2p, and even then the cash shop in Aion mostly features only cosmetic items.

Anyone who played that game at release knows that.

I mostly agree with everything you said but not this. Since I’m in a small guild I’m already locked out of guild missions and I don’t want to be locked out of more content because I’m not in a big zerg guild.

I shouldn’t have to join an entirely new guild just experience content that I’m paying the same price for as people who are in bigger guilds.

Challenging group content. Sure. Challenging group content locked to guilds. Nope.

Yes I could join a big guild if I wanted but why should I have to just to experience “group content”? Being in a bigger guild doesn’t make me a better/worse player to not deserve to experience it.

You buy games on Steam for value and worth: correct?
You go to the movies and have 1 large popcorn for value and worth: correct?

This is not about pricing, this is about value and worth

You’re absolutely right. It comes down to value and worth. 100 true. Value and worth.

And so far, Anet has not shown that the game is worth $50 to a lot of people, which is absolutely not the same as showing the game is not worth $50. It’s just that there’s so much info we don’t yet have.

No one, not one single person, can honestly say the game isn’t worth $50. All anyone can honestly say is that we don’t have enough information to know.

Which means, for some people they’ve seen enough of value, like me and for some people they haven’t seen enough of value…yet.

That means those people are not obligated to preorder the game and they can wait for more information. What those people can’t say is the game isn’t worth it, because they don’t know.

Technically they haven’t shown the game is worth anything because beyond guild halls they haven’t shown anything.

Edit: I suppose that’s false. They have shown some class specializations. Just none that I’m interested in.

I buy HoT. Some people pay over 50€ games like witcher 3 and they won’t even play it over 6k hours.

The Witcher 3 is a masterpiece of a game in just about every way. From a story telling perspective to the game play and how the world is designed and how you interact with it and it’s technical aspects.

Besides that a big difference between The Witcher 3 and GW2 is that GW2 is an mmo which is designed to suck up as much of your time and money as possible. The Witcher is designed to deliver a story that has a definite end. Unlike mmos.

To say the witcher 3 is not worth the price is to say that you do not enjoy video games.

Already bought it and couldn’t be more excited about it.

People are all lying claiming that they won’t buy it and that everyone in their 250 person guild won’t buy it.. People are so sensitive and overreact to every little thing. I was hoping for 30-40 bucks tops too but 50 really isn’t bad at all.

Regular content updates since launch for free, an immense amount of new content for HoT and THIS GAME DOESN’T HAVE A MONTHLY FEE.

Everybody is more than entitled to their own opinions. However, I bought the game, I am incredibly excited to play it, and I’m sure I won’t be disappointed. Despite this argument and our differing opinions, I truly hope to see you all in game!

:D

Some people might. But I can count the amount of hours I’ve put into GW2 this year on one hand.

So while I am excited for the expansion I’m not exactly feeling an urgent need to play the game and I can wait as long as I need to to pay a price that I feel is appropriate.

Put me on the list of people who is not buying the expansion until we see some changes.

I had in mind that the expansion would be around $40 and come with a free character slot so that we could play the new expansion without having to shell out more or delete a character.

$50 is too much for what they’ve shown and for them to not include a character slot is pretty much a deal breaker.

"Veteran Player" Entitlement.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

fellyn.5083

I remember back in GW when new players came into the game six, seven and eight years after the game was released. I don’t think I witnessed ‘veterans’ behaving in such a manner when sweets, alcohol, and other goodies were made a lot easier to get in an effort to help newer players achieve their titles. Indeed, I remember the days there were no tiles and when chests required no key…. ah the good old days. I know, different issue, different context. Just saying entitlement is a dangerous state of mind.

Agreed many are unhappy with the price. Many would like an additional slot for a new character. Many would like to have purchased the expansion as it is, an expansion, not the base. Maybe if there could be a rational non- ranting, non -flaming post on the issue it would be taken seriously rather than the ‘kitten you, kitten the game, I’m never playing again’ stuff that has been flying around.

As for duration or quality, who says you have to pick? I want it all lol

You mean back in the days when Anet gave us free character slots when we bought their new games? Instead of making us pay $10 extra for it?

GW2 released with five character slots and eight professions.

Your own opening post says you paid for three additional slots, presumably without a care or a million-thread forum kerfuffle.

A slot costs ten bucks. Skip a Big Mac combo one day and play your Revenant for years to come. I really don’t see what the giant deal is over the slots thing is. There’s other things to be bothered about. And a million threads in which to be bothered.

False. Base game GW2 released with 4 character slots.

Guild Halls: Just for the large guilds?

I was wondering the same thing. My guild only has 3 or 4 people in it. I don’t think I should be able to have a complete guild as easily as a guild with 400 people in it but it should be viable.

We’ve had the guild running since the game first launched and we shouldn’t have to abandon it and join a big guild or recruit just to have a working guild hall.

Hopefully costs scale for how many people are in the guild unlike how it is now where the costs don’t scale.

So, now remove/increase the AoE cap?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: fellyn.5083

Gw2 used to have a larger aoe cap during launch, but they reduced it and one reason for it was the lag issue if I’m correct.

The AoE cap has been in the game since the betas.

A Solution to the Berserker Meta

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: fellyn.5083

fellyn.5083

What reasons did I miss for zerker only being fine?

Short answer:

Stale content is the problem, not that we’ve figured out how to do it without passive defenses after doing the exact same fights for going-on 3 years.

That’s a terrible point actually.

WoW has existed for more than 10 years and it has always had tanks, healers and nukers in every dungeon, even the ones that are old.

LoL/DoTa, just to mention an example that isn’t a MMORPG, have been going for a long time as well, and it is unthinkable to have a full nuker party. Suggesting so would get you ridiculed.

The zerk meta exists because of poor gear balancing. If tanks were a lot tankier and had a taunt (while doing much less damage), and if monsters did much more damage, it would force team setups to have tanks and nukers.

Maybe you should post this on the WoW or LoL forums where it would actually be relevant.

You just didn’t understand. You are saying that the reason the glasscanon meta exists in GW2 is because people know the game too well. I’m saying that your statement is false. To prove that it’s false, I’m mentionning WoW and LoL as examples, where people know the dungeons/maps/gameplay by perfection and still use standard nuker/tank/healer setups.

If your logic that knowing the game by perfection led to glasscannon builds held any ground, then by now all MMOs that are older than GW2 should have glasscannon only metas, but we both know that is wrong.

Your comparison doesn’t make any sense. I’ll let you figure out by yourself on why that is.

2 The game rewards are very bad.
3 Almost all of the new skin is by buying rather than the game content.
4 Poor PVP qualifying system,Individual players to be a team player played badly.
5 WVW , let a person feel boring, until one day Plugin completely destroyed WVW.
6 Pets are too realistic, no desire to purchase and collection.

Those have been common complaints from players in the US and EU almost since day 1.

When you see a list of all the things added to the game since it’s been released and 75% of the changes or new things are for the gem store it gets kind of depressing.

Down ranking / Leveling question.

Being over powered in low level zones with lowbie friends is a blast.

Thank you for your responses, and I suppose we’ll just stay in other online games that allow this then. Oh well.

You don’t seem to understand how down leveling actually works. If you go to a starter zone as a level 80 you’ll get exactly what you’re after.

I didn’t care for the idea at first either but it’s grown on me.

With down leveling you get rewards tailored to level 80 where ever you go. The way you want it you only get useful rewards in 10% of the places you go.

Sounds like you’re opposed to the idea of a meta in general. I can sympathise with the sentiment. As far as I’m concerned, meta is for simple people who can’t think for themselves, and a sign of imbalance in a game.
Sadly, it has become intended design over the years.

The reason the meta exists is because of how the enemies and AI in the game work. The meta won’t change until those 2 things do.

Well, we’re not meant to earn rewards, they would prefer if we bought them from the gem store.

There was one occasion when the game did reward high skill, and regular players went bananas. Remember that fuss over the Liadri mini and title?

Pretty much every reward system is going to rustle someone’s jimmies, so Anet took the safe route and made it terrible for pretty much everyone. Lol.

The fuss over liandri wasn’t that it required high skill but that it was only temporary content and the design of the pavilion.

My advice for you is to enjoy exploring the world. Don’t bother about your character’s gears just yet, just buy those cheapest blues/green gears as you level. Start doing dungeons and gearing up exotics/aesthetics when you’re level 80.

As a new player, go explore and appreciate all the beautiful scenery of every zone. It’s awesome design you know. Complete the zone you are in. Enjoy and don’t let others bother you. Play as you like it.

Visit wiki.guildwars2.com if you need infos. It’s all in there.

Actually that’s bad advice. He shouldn’t be spending any money on gear initially. Buy gear from karma/heart vendors. It’s more or less free if you consistently do hearts and events. Which he should because it’s the fastest way to level outside of zerging wvw maps or crafting, which he won’t be able to do yet.

He can buy those CHEAPEST blues/greens like I said. Those that worth a few silvers, not golds. AND He shouldn’t be wasting karma during leveling phase. Better save those karma so he can opt to use it to buy exotics from temple vendors when he reached level 80. He doesn’t need to worry about leveling. Roaming around a map and completing every heart/POI/vistas/events is enough for leveling while enjoying the world scenery.

He can get dungeon exotics easier than Orr exotics from karma. By the time he saves up 42k karma for just 1 piece he could easily be decked out in a full set of dungeon exotics.
