is it normal that Lupicus eats mesmer clones too for his buff skill? Or is that a bug?
This has not been patched into the game yet but has been fixed finally, you can see his first post. I know coding isnt easy, it gives me a headache to try to write but it has been months for this issue to be around.
Any aoe will hit a player that is in stealth, will be harder to hit them or to know you are hitting them but it is possible. Larger marks helps alot with hitting thieves in stealth, life transfer, and wells are all amazing for this. The only issue is though tracking a stealthed player to get the most out of them.
As to dagger 2 and axe 2, if you are using it before they stealth the channled attack will still keep hitting them. Damage will not show but the channle attack will keep going.
Shadow fiend might not be alive or dead.
Just think if the minion damage changed on our gear in anyway. That would be fantastic, but still without working AI they are not that good to use in most cases.

Best bet is find a empty pvp server in the mists and try it out with a thief buddy. I would help you out but my laptop cant run gw2. I miss having my desktop so much.
Well gaming PC is still down so cant play much with my laptop but I would love Ai fixes (never will happen) and some traits changed to have better life siphons, and heck reanimator and horde trait to be made optional since we should never be forced to have a minion if we dont want to.
I also expect them to nerf our marks or wells since some players think its unfair or they hit to hard.

Almost any class can drop another player in 7-8 seconds at most in ideal conditions. In some cases much quicker mesmer and thief burst comes to mind. Now I think the video showed more then just grenade spam. I am guessing the video was shot was near melee combat as well. So I am also guessing the other player was hit by big old bomb(f1-f4) skill for bomb kit, the aoe grenade skill (grenade kit f1-f4), and well other normal grenade spam. So at least 3 attacks very quickly withen the time of 3 seconds.
If it was just grenade 1 and 2 skill that hit 10k, that other player was naked, up leveled and somehow had 20 stacks of vulnerability because 1 grenade spam could never do that, even before the -30%.
Speccing this was would make this engineer very squishie just like a GC thief but without the ability to escape.

Jumping to your death should not cause you to get a repair. If it does, well you could just take off your gear. Overall though they need to fix alot of things in pve, wvwvw, and pvp.
Ok, hate to break it to you but i highly doubt they will remove it or disable it for you thief players. Just look at how many necros have wanted jagged horror to go, be disabled, or made optional via major trait swap. We had a forum tread open for months open about him, many other smaller treads as well. We had instance boss’s being harder by him and still do. Look at Jade-maw boss for example as a recent one. Not only does his AI cause it to attack whatever it wants or whatever you dont want and still sometimes not at all. Anet even made it live longer because one of reason we necros hated that rodent was because he didnt even live 11 seconds, not the only reason but it was on a list of them.
So I do not think anet will change this skill, remove, or disable it for you.

finally got back to the forums, been reading up on things ive missed since my pc gaming rig died but glad to see a another guide for condition necros around but i still like Nemesis.8593 guide at the top. More then likely its because i first used that as a reference to try to figure out the necro since my first build just was not cutting. So again nice guide and keep it up.
I thought the jagged horror was from fixed from normal rallies. Only the vengeance and illusions of life still got a rally from him.

Great video as normal Nemesis. I loved the break down of the gear and best way to get the most out of you power and condition damage. Wonder if you could put it in the tutorial section so it doesnt get lost in the treads overtime. Well i guess ill bookmark it for later so when i get the cash to build my gaming PC back up and can play the game again.
I have been away for a few weeks because my main pc rig is dead so i am out of practice in wvwvw but any good necro would not die to a thief 1 vs 1 in most cases. Nor will we be able to stop them from escaping which is the issue. Unless we can kill the thief it is not a win in my eyes. The culling thing with the stealth will be fixed someday and that will even the playing field with many players.
This should be a error code for an network error.

I would like to see this mode possible, expect the trash mobs hitting harder part. The trash mobs already hit pretty hard as is and some of the trash pulls can be worse then any boss in the instance. Looking at those hammer mobs in TA for one example, the flame thrower mobs in CoF as another. I am not saying they are not unkillable or anything just they hit harder then other mobs in the instance’s they share and most times harder then the boss mobs.
I can still seeing people skip mobs since unlike in fractals the loot they drop in older instances are just a waste of time most runs.
In GW1 we often paid for runs to places and other things, sometimes we didnt want to run the pass again for an alt so we would pay so others could run us from point A to point B. Back to gw2 though, i would pay for some Arah runs to save time on Arah gear tokens if I ever wanted armor from it again. I do not want anything else from arah, i spent to many hours already.
this website isnt run by anet last i checked. It was a 3rd party website, but been awhile since i last checked it out so who knows, Anet could have bought it.

Now as long as the payment is not done with real life currency, anet should not have reason to ban anyone for this. Also the only risk i can remember from gw1 was players not actually being able to do the whole run from point A to point B and not giving your money back.

Well you can always transmute it to light armor armor you like once you have the knight pieces you.
Well what else do you want us to do savan. We have treads for bugs, builds, things most of us can agree we need to be moved on trait lines, etc. So why not a speculation tread?

Epidemic is a great skill of ours, one of the best but necros are not the best at putting out tons of conditions as knote makes us out to be. With someone who can or others to help pushing/applying condition out as well, makes epidemic an amazing skill.
No, but we can easily on someone who’s downed.
Ok ill give you that, but running with others who can help us apply conditions does make epidemic much better of a skill then say if it was just you.
reddit post i saved awhile back from lettucemode.3789 who put some work into finding these things out. I have not seen any changes to any of the necro traits besides Vampiric so i still trust it.

I dont consider it a win unless the corpse of the player is at my feet, but thats me. Now back to the treads purpose. I would love to see build’s that works the way the devs vision they want for the necro. Not one but multiple ways it can be done, i am having a hard time thinking of even one that works the way they think.
i am just saying hitting players with staff 1, not everything else. I fight/fought thieves often, i seldom lost nor did i win because over 90% of the fights they already escaped.
Allen, last i heard the 50% still is not working yet, its bugged it seems. Secondly i dont think any necro can make staff 1 hit players on a regular basis since it takes 3-4 seconds to get to the 1200 range and as long as they move left or right for strafing it will miss. Its like how ranger arrows often missed so much because of travel time.

one more thing some thief running with 50% speed can anyone tell me if we can hit em with staff lmao? will a staff auto attack hit a thief whos running 50% speed ????
Well that 50% isnt working yet, just so you know. Also im amazed your staff 1 hits most players with its slow speed.
Quick search for a lupi guide on yuotube, watch and learn what you can. knowledge is half the battle for lupi fight. I would type it out, but i am very bad at explaining things out sometimes so a video guide is better in this case.
If you have terror, the fear will be place on the boss still and do damage. They just dont have the nice interrupt and what not like it used to. I didnt notice any mob that fear worked like it used to.
edit: I have not run any fractals just normal explore modes, have not been wanting to run anything really.

The more HP you have, the harder agony will hurt you, so its not always a good thing to have 27k+ hp.
I am trying to find this, i know they mentioned they looking at aoe skills, but this does not mean they will nerf them, epidemic is pretty unique skill since it requires a decent amount of conditions on 1 foe to be effective. No offense to necros but we are not the best at applying them. For this to truly be effective we have to rely on others .
the simple answer is no.
I want fix’s to happen, not really buffs on the necro since i am kinda a pain to kill already but everyone and its grandma can run away from me. I want more things to work correctly. The minions and the AI as a whole, traits to work right, skills on weapons to work right. I want DS lifeforce while in combat to not be a complete pain in the rear to get back while in a more condition build because how LF is worked in the game. So on, not o the underwater combat skills to be buffed, most of the player base does not care about underwater combat.
They should have made re animator a major trait so we can swap to it if we really want, respeccing out so we dont hurt the group is a horrible way to fix the issue.
Gluttony still is a horrible trait even at 10% because of how it applies to LF to the skills. It was not a bad update but nothing was really fixed after months of treads, many forums showing how re animator can hurt the group, ai being so bad most sane players will not us them in a series fight, etc.
I just want them to focus on fixing things. I would love for them make minions actually a option for series play and bloody lower cool downs on them but overall i would rather they fix bugs and traits, and everything else because trying to buff things while many traits and skills do not work as they say across so many class’s will lead to unbalance and more issues.

kKagari, nice write up. You might want to include a list of things that cause defiant to stack on a boss besides just saying someone used an CC on the bboss, some players really might not even really understand what causes it to be applied. I loved my necros fear because of how they worked along with daze to interrupt boss animations

I miss being able to fear him during that attack already.
I dont try to rely on DS to take the hits while in the bubble, i go into ds if i can then get to edge and roll out then toggle ds off to save that life force. If i cant go into ds i still try to get to the edge and try to roll out. It can be a complete pain in the rear to get lifeforce on some boss fights and even more so depending on the build you have.
Edit:
Some boss fights ds can be depleted in 1 hit if you had to use it to soak a hit. Alpha’s aoes for me most times during his fights, and lupi during phase 2 can easily eat your entire lifeforce bar. Once that is gone depending on your build and skills it might not ever fill up over 25% again the entire fight since you might be like me and used DS to eat a boss attack.

I was wrong. I just got hit by the bubble for the first time since the latest patch, and I could not roll out of it. I actually got hit on it by purpose to see if it was still possible. Either they changed something last patch or my husband and I were getting really lucky rolling out of it for all the runs it took us to get our Arah sets.

That is odd, since it was how i dodged out of it my arah runs, get close to the edge and roll though. I wonder when they fixed that.
3.5- just moving to another profession to i see they fix the bugs that annoy me more then anything.
Ha. Including a “when disabled” trait as part of your ATTACK PLAN is just sad.
Maybe necro needs a skill to put themselves into a downed state.
We have corruption skills that can bleed and poison us so we get to it faster.
Still alright class but most others can do most things better then us.

In the warriors defense, he played that fight very well. he had great timed blocks, used whirlwind to evade though lupi and other things, used his real evades very well. He did a fantastic job with his warrior in the videos he has posted. I would love to be able todo that with my necro but well I cant get past phase 1, cant evade enough or block like him and in-combat LF gain is a joke so i cant use DS to soak up hits when i need to.
Not to derail this conversation, I’ve seen the necromancer bug post thread and I feel for you guys, I really do. Just adding some outside perspective from someone who doesn’t play necro, but hates going up against them…
Have you guys ever thought that maybe you are being viewed as a vocal minority? As a primary guardian/secondary thief/tertiary other stuff, I absolutely hate running into a Necro in WvW or sPvP. More often than not, most of the ones I encounter are either good enough to draw me into a stalemate, or GOOD enough to force me to retreat with my tail between my legs. I know I’m not the only one this happens to, my guild mates agree (except the one that plays necro, but he’s a slacker) and I’ve had plenty of people agree with me on reddit.
Maybe what it is is that they really don’t know what to do with the class, because on one hand they have in game data of necromancers working perfectly well, and they have a forum full of people saying they are broken and need to be fixed. Likely the truth is somewhere in the middle, and they just need time to fine tune a fix in a way that doesn’t break the class (overpowered/underpowered post patch).
Finally, to give you guys a glimmer of hope, if there are any GW1 players here, you’ll recall that they went through each class later in the life of GW1 and basically gave them a complete face-lift, going as far as to add new mechanics and what not. Given their move in that direction, I would expect to see them continue down that path in GW2 (and do so much earlier, given previous lesson’s learned), so don’t lose faith guys.
Most of the necro players are good players. We can be a very hard class to kill. The issue is though, we have a lot of bugs, LF can be a complete pain for condition builds to replenish and really can be burnt though to quickly when used to soak those hits from other class’s, DS is kinda clunky, and in every build we can do almost nothing to stop anyone from getting away. Many of us remember gw1 very well and even selected this class because we remember our necro from gw1, we want our minions and vampire skills, etc again. They have changed things that no one really complains about even for the class, im looking at the fear/defiant change, Spectral walk was changed a few times already.
We have some good builds, but overall everyone is running the same builds over and over because they are the only ones that work. Most of us are not asking to buff the class but fix things like gluttony which is still not working, reanimator is still worthless (i want him to be optional or gone), vampire traits are so small its laughable, we have many traits and even utilities we will never use.
I know thieves have that 25% stealth thing that can cause them to unstealth which has caused me to see them sooner then i should and they still can get away. I know other class’s have issues as well with traits and skills but we have waited months on things for signets because most are a joke,, most minions do not work because the ai, traits. At one time we had soul reaping line not giving the bonus LF for what felt like ages before they fixed that. Anet should be working on fixing things not buffing or trying balancing things to everything is working right.
On a last note, thank you for the honest thoughts on the class.

I view the dragons as being highly intelligent but do not view most being (humans, charr, etc) as something they need or want to converse with because they cannot fully understand what they are trying to say or mean. They might converse with the gods or spirits and other dragons but i do not see them treating the moral races the same way. Kinda like how we are with animals, i am stretching that but really only thing i can compare it to with the real world at this moment.
Etc etc, im done with the QQ ive moved on to depression.

I never found them fun so they kinda just sit at 80.
edit: now since they fixed nothing of note for necro i guess he will be the same.
Ya im most probably not going to enjoy the thief for so long, ill most likely quit after level 30 and leave the game.
Leveling the mesmer to 80 was harder then the others, thief had it simple, guardian was a face roll, engineer was actually fun but no of them held my attention for to long once i got to 80.
