It is rather likely that it is high priority, but even if they spend every single resource in the company towards it, they would still need to actually figure out where the issues lie.

The fact that many of the people that have issues seems to use the same supplier or being from the same general area would suggest that the issue itself might not lie within ArenaNets control.

Also keep in mind that it is a rather small group of players that seems to have these issues, and as such it would not make all that much sense to put it as a highest priority ever issue.

There is nothing at all in that description that even suggests that there would be new information about HoT.

There is nothing at all that suggest that there will be no more Living Story after the expansion.
Nor is there anything that proves that we will defeat Mordremoth in the Expansion.

For all we know they will focus the expansion on getting close to the Dragon and fighting its forces, with Living Story coming up over a couple of months after the release which leads to the actual confrontation with it.

They will probably allow people to sign up for it or do something along the lines of pre-purchasing gives beta-access.

Most likely not, seeing as it follows Season 2 of the Living Story rather than the Personal story. And Living Story does not require completion of Personal Story.

I would suggest completing it with at least one character though, just to get the whole story.

I could easily see them holding off with defeating Mordremoth and instead having us face its armies and crawl closer and closer to its base, and then release the actual fight against it via living story updates coming down the line.

The demo is available at PAX East at March 6-8, that is five weeks.

That means that there are three weeks between the information being talked about on February 13th and the demo.

It is likely that we will start seeing blogs about the features next week or the week after at the latest, with blogs coming more or less weekly after they have started.

They actually do like to reveal things to us with the twitch channel, and the reveals being done on the 13th will likely be on the Ready Up stream before it is on the website. That’s how they usually do it, anyways.

What have they reveled during the Ready Up streams? The only thing that comes to mind is those single picture screenshots a few days before a teaser trailer (for content we already know is coming).

The reason they will tell us stuff on the 13th is most likely because by then we would already have had at least one deep dive, which they can then talk about.
It is unlikely that they will give us a bunch of completely new information.

It is rather unlikely that they would unveil something like that on a small show that most people don’t watch.

We know that they will show us stuff in the coming weeks via blogs. It is unlikely that they would change that schedule.

Seems like a rather silly timing for this thread, since we have rather recently gotten confirmation that we will get a new map and other big changes go WvW rather soon.

The one and only Guild Wars 1 expansion actually didn’t add a single character slot.

Also keep in mind that at release we got 5 slots. One for each race.
Not 8 slots, one for each profession.

If we had a new race I wouldn’t doubt that we would get another slot, but since we are not, it is unlikely. Maybe if they add a digital deluxe or something that comes with a slot (and other goodies).

Depends on how long they wait with announcing it.
The fact that we know that it will be playable in less than 6 weeks with beta starting up very soon after that would suggest that it is much closer than 7-9 months and more along the lines of 3-4 months.

One could of course also question how often someone that mainly plays WvW would change out runes/stats in the first place? I personally haven’t really changed my set since I got my Soldier (nowadays Trooper) set about 2 years ago.

You are talking about it being expensive due to the amount of (expensive) materials.
The reason for the expensive materials is supply and demand.

The amount needed is around the same as other foods with the same “level” (80 and 60 minutes).

Supply and demand. Basing the price on every-changing TP market is usually a rather bad idea.

I would saying that being able to directly buy high-end materials (that otherwise would require you to go to a high-level zone with strong mobs guarding them) would be a much bigger issue than the current situation.

The low-level nodes are available more or less at the start, and thus being able to add them to the home instances doesn’t really change anything at all.

I have also never seen a legendary go for under 1000g. You should also keep in mind that they are still rather new and as such they will drop in price, just like the first batch that were released the same way.

I don’t think these affect the economy at all. The % of users who actually have these nodes is very, very small (otherwise those prices above wouldn’t be so high).

And that is just the thing. It doesn’t effect the economy much as it is now. Simply due to them being so rare and thus have a high price.

If they on the other hand were guaranteed and directly buyable from the gem-store they would most likely be used by way more people.

I believe it is simply a matter of economy.

Having all of these in your home-instance does effect the economy. And as such selling them directly for gems would require much less gems than getting them via the chests.
Thus the hit on the economy would be worse than the hit when people are trading gems for gold (with part of the gold being removed with taxes) if you could buy them directly.

Is it not a bit early to claim that?
We have no idea how Stronghold will look and what it will contain.
For all we know there will be an ability to place sentries that reveals stealthed people.

To limit the leak of information about updates would be enough to limit a few people (excluding HoT, updates can be managed even by a single person)

Personally I did not know what was said by Tom Gore regarding international IP laws (and thank him for telling us); I still believe that it is possible to find a solution, if it is sought.

But even so, someone that know exactly what ArenaNet means with certain names or statements needs to make sure the translation is correct. There are, at least in Swedish at least, English words that can refer to different things, that might not always be clear.
There can also be the fact that certain names actually gives hints, which also needs to be translated correctly, and not only added as the same name and so on.

Having internal control systems works for parts of the issue, but not for all of it. ArenaNet would also want to make sure to have their own translator checking it, even if you have controllers, since it is their product and they must make sure the translations are up to their standard.

Every single person that have access to information is a potential leak, and unless that person is directly employed by ArenaNet said person have no real threat to revealing said information.

I am from Sweden. I do not speak Spanish, French or German. I can’t choose Swedish for the game. But clearly I can still play the game without much issues.
In fact, even if I could play it in Swedish I wouldn’t, since stuff is usually lost in translations.

Keep in mind that even if people do translate it for free, ArenaNet would still need to hire people to make sure the translation is correct.
There is also the issue with the swift release schedule and the fact that it would spoil things quite a bit if the community had access to things before they were added to the game and so on.

They add (very few) new skills yes. But all of those skills have added something to the professions that they didn’t have before.

As a new weapon would be. Duh.
A game doesnt get new players just by addint necessary stuff, but also cool things that wont disappoint newcomers and attract new players. A new weapon could do that aswell. I’ve seen many peopl get yped about gw2 when I said that there are Rifles in them. Aswell as many to get bummed because such a basic weapon like a spear isnt.

The problem is that Lightsabers arent a historicallya ccurate weapon that exists in every MMO ever and every player ever expects it to be thre when you get to a game of this genre. :P

There is currently not a good place for guilds to meet up and do stuff together just on their own. Adding a Guild Hall will add such a thing. And as such it is adding something that does not already exist into the game. Ergo not the same thing as adding weapons that would not fill a niche that is not already filled.

But a new weapon that fills a niche that is already filled does not validate spending time and resources on it. And that is the whole point: Why add stuff to the game that is already there when there are other, more needed stuff, that can be added instead?

Oh, so weapon should only be added if you want them added?

What if I don’t like old-school weapons? Should we start demanding that they add in lightsabers and laser-guns as well?

And it is not a matter of being against diversity. It is a matter of it being worth the time or resources or not.

You have to keep in mind that the game does not have a subscription and as such there is no real guaranteed income each month, thus they have to decide what they should put most money or resources into.

No, you are not supposed to be a developer. But you are demanding that stuff is added, and thus you should also supply an actual good reason and a way to validate spending the time and resources on adding said things.

So basically a completely new class of weapon? How will that be balanced around the rest of the weapons and professions? What would other professions gain for it? Is it even needed in the game?
Warriors already have plenty of gap-closing abilities, they don’t really need more.

You talk about other weapons not being viable. Wouldn’t it make more sense in that case to spent the time and resources working on making them viable instead of adding yet another weapon into the equation? A weapon that according to you would also use a completely different system than any other weapon currently in the game.

Yes it is a small effort compared to that. But it would increase the total effort for very little gain.

Since you still haven’t supply any example how adding these weapons would give classes something they don’t already have I will simply have to assume that you don’t have any example of it.

And as such, it is basically adding something for the sake of adding it, and thus all effort needed for it would basically be wasted on something that adds very little to the game.
