Allow us to keybind directly to the LFG Tool.
This isn’t anything major, just something to improve an already great game.

not saying its a bad idea but there already was a unlimited mining pick avaiable in the gemstore a while ago. also i believe you can buy “250 charges” gathering tools at the laurel vendor.
True there was a unlimited mining pick…….but there is not one now. Some people did not get 1(like me T.T )
Also those laurel mining picks are not oricalcum . Soooooo……ya
Pick is going to come back soon with a new skin. Also comes back during promotions.

Perfectly said. Its 2013 and they have no plans to upgrade to DX11 rofl. Milking gem store is more important than offering a smooth and fun experience for your fanbase. I wish the current team working on FF14 came for gw2, they’re doing absolutely everything possible to please their players and are already building a DX11 patch while anet doesn’t even dream about it.
What would DX11 bring to GW2? Graphics don’t make a game, gameplay does. And GW2 has the best gameplay of any MMO by a long shot.

GW2 is evolving into a facebook game you play for 20 minutes a day and log out. Also, i don’t remember any time gated content in gw1 at all, not even one (unless zquests is what you consider time gated content which isn’t the case). GW2 is all about time gated content, gem store, gem store, gem store, gem store, archaic targeting system, archaic save/load builds system, extreme time sink (current teq), money sink. Its so funny that its worth participating in this mess to see where its actually going.
We must be playing different games, because what you’re describing is not the GW2 I have on my computer.

Stop playing on machines from the late 90s. A 3rd gen intel i5 and a GTX 640 GPU will run Tequatl on max settings without breaking a sweat. The problem isn’t the servers or even the engine. It’s YOUR machine.
Source: Running Teq with no lag on max settings on a Dell XPS 8500 with a 3rd Gen i5 processor and GTX640 GPU
My system specs are in my sig.
I get 20fps in zergs and high pop events. It is NOT our systems, it is the crappy engine that the game is built around.
20fps in high pop zergs isn’t bad, regardless of your specs. A particular MMO which shall not be named couldn’t handle any part of its content at launch. To have 5 fps in the main city, battlegrounds or raids was a luxury. I’ve done content at lowest graphics with a single frame every 2 or 3 seconds. That’s not to mention constant disconnects, extreme lag at any part of the game (500ms ping was normal), 3000 people queues and 8 hour maintenance which didn’t fix anything. Not only was the client optimized but neither were the servers capable of running an MMO.
In comparison, I’d say GW2 does pretty well.

Karka Queen has 3 other problems though:
1/ Drops are worthless. Settlers gear isn’t worth it and karka shells can be farmed easier
2/ The pre-event is extremely annoying. You need more coordination to make KQ spawn, than to kill Tequatl. The pre can’t be soloed either. Changing this would make all the difference in the world.
3/ There are no achievements tied to KQ. Not even one. That makes Karka Queen even worse than the Hydra Queen which no one does either.

Dungeons, once per day
Meta Events, once per day when the timer and overflows allow you
Crafting Ascended, once per day
Daily is daily :PThis WHOLE game is time gated.
Was it the intent of the designers to make the game “play it your way, but only when we tell you”?GW1 had little to no time gated content and this made people happy.
People now are sitting in LA, waiting for the next Meta(after doing their daily runs).Am I the only one that feels this way?
It means the people with 10-12 hours a day to play will not get certain things faster than me, a person who has to work 10-12 hours a day. Since people with a job are more likely to spend money in the gem store, it makes sense to cater to people with a job.
But you most certainly have the advantage of doing more daily stuff a day than me. I can do 3 dragons and the daily xor a few dungeons xor one fractal. You can do all of those and then some.

1/ you’ll get your Karma eventually, take your time
2/ I’m extremely casual and yet I’ve got 150 laurels left after decking out 2 characters and buying some t6 mats. This 150 is to deck out any other character I want.
3/ Legendaries are supposed to take time. Karma isn’t going to be the issue. By the time you have the money to get a legendary, you’ll have the karma too.
4/ Ascended weapons … kinda agree. Ascended armor, not so much.
Delayed content is eventually good. Rushed content is eternally bad. ~ Shigeru Miyamoto
There is not really any great way to grind money or mats with the diminishing returns system the game has. There is no way to craft for money either.
I really wonder what issue people have with Diminishing returns. I never actually hit them. In GW1 it was objectively far worse. In GW2 it might as well not exist unless you’re a bot.
Getting money in GW2 is becoming easier now. A few bosses, a dungeon or two and within the hour you can have a few gold. If you’re lucky, an invasion happens and you can earn tons of money there.

most of the EU population is german.
Do you have any evidence to support this?
Only personal experiences.
1/ Germany speaks German (duh)
2/ Austria has German as the sole official language
3/ In Switzerland and Belgium, German is a minority language
4/ In the Netherlands, Poland, Hungary and Denmark, German is the most important second language. In Belgium it’s the most important second language after French.
5/ Everyone who works in automation, steel industry, green energy, … on a technical or higher level has to know German to one degree or another since it is the primary language in those industries.
Which means that German is the most important language in Europe, whether you want it or not. But hey, I’m a polyglot Belgian. I just try to accommodate. No one in the world knows my mother tongue, no one even bothers. Most in the world don’t even know Dutch is the majority language here. and just speak french for some reason.

Player-chosen filtering is the correct solution. Enforcing English is nothing more than racism.

celestial items still have more stats on them than other sets, you and everyone else who are complaining about this are doing so completely without merit. If you bought celestial stuff for the paltry magic find gain, that’s your own fault
People keep saying stuff like this in every topic about Celestial. But ultimately, it’s only because they don’t understand how Stats & Specializing actually work in the game.
I do know how it works but I don’t care about min-maxing. Celestial makes my Engineer work good enough with almost any build. I could improve my dps a little bit, but that’s at the cost of survivability and flexibility I’m not willing to pay.
Furthermore, I have a real life so grinding out several sets of gear is not an option. Celestial is a good all rounder for people like me.

I have played nearly 3000 hours in the game. Started from head start. Played every aspect of the game. Thrown over 300 gold worth in rare and exotic weapons into the mystic toilet. Have every material needed for a legendary expect the precursor.
Never had a precursor drop or roll out of the mystic toilet for me. Ever.
Have fun.
300g of items for an 800g gamble is rather cheap. To have won that would be unfair. Expect at least 500+g to be the average.
My advice is to start out with the precursor. Buy it first. All the rest is just pocket change in comparison. Will save you a lot of self griefing.
Those with 3 gifts but no precursor are like people buying 4 tires and waiting to win the Ferrari in a lottery.

I have gold find, but that’s just because adding +20% to every coin drop adds up in the long run. It is also directly noticeable. 20% MF might be nice, but if you’re not lucky you don’t get anything.
No point have gold find prices of items just go up
On the other hand, many prices have been very stable for months, so gold find is rather useful.
And how is more gold bad when stuff costs more gold? That’s backwards logic.

It’s not going to happen and that’s a good thing. Let consoles and PCs each have their strengths. Consoles are still the couch co-op, adventure, racing, puzzle, TBS and jrpg machine of choice. MMORPGs, competitive FPS and RTS will remain on the PC for the foreseeable future.

If you want to nerf stealth then you’ll need to accept w/e compensation thieves get.
I didn’t know that nerfing the most overpowered and cheesy hard counter in the game warrants compensation?
But sure, give stealth a decent counter and reset revealed to 1.5 seconds for all I care. I just want a proper counter to that broken mechanic.
The spies in TF2 are a very good example of how stealth should work in this game too. Risk and reward have to be balanced, stealth in GW2 carries almost no risk but is one of the most powerful mechanics in the game.

I’m a tweener. I’m not bad enough to be a noob, but I’m not good enough to be l33t…or as my mom used to say, too light for heavy work and too heavy for light work.
I’m kinda in that position too. Good enough for most content through accumulated experience in other games, but too much real life to become truly good at the difficult content.
There’s no real way around this sort of thing. The game contains multiple things to do with multiple difficulties for that reason. You guide yourself to the harder stuff.
There’s a couple of things I could do to become better at this game.
- quit my job
- divorce my wife
- quit long distance running
But since that’s not an option (love my job, wife and healthy body) I’m happy GW2 has content along the spectrum so I can focus on what I’d like to do personally. FotM10 is very forgiving, but FotM28 is a bit too hard for me and I can’t be kitten d to train.

S: Warrior, Guardian
A: Mesmer, Thief
B: Necromancer, Elementalist
C: Engineer, Ranger
Although mostly for elitist speedrun groups. Neither my ranger nor engineer have any problems joining groups. It merely means we take about an hour to finish content others would do in 50 minutes. Big deal.
But lets be fair. Open world PVE (events, farming, jumping puzzles …)
S: Ranger, Elementalist
A: Engineer, Mesmer, Necromancer
B: Thief, Warrior, Guardian
C: Mesmer and Elementalist under lvl 40.

Hopefully it’s an addition to TA, not reworks of existing paths. For starters, that would allow them to tell new stories instead of just changing the mechanics of the existing ones, and people who enjoy the current form of TA don’t have something taken away from them like what happened with the AC remake.
Having more than three paths of TA to do sounds like a good thing.
I hope that is Caithe in the artwork. If it’s another new female lead for the Living Story I think I will have to go join the Sons of Svanir and the Flame Legion. I am looking forward to a sylvari protagonist though. I don’t want to see Rox turn up claiming she’s trying to impress Rytlock again. That’s not a very compelling motivation.
At the very least, fw/up should be reworked heavily. It is currently the worst dungeon path outside Arah.

Would it help if I said I included it in my report?
No; I’ve heard that before. By legit I didn’t mean “we know about it.” Colin already gave me that lip service. I’m sorry if I seem demanding or ungrateful, but it has been months since the last update on this issue and every single issue that Colin said was being worked on first has been finished and is in the game in one from or another, plus a lot of other stuff. I don’t want “I included it in my report.” I want to know what you plan to do about it, and at least a ballpark estimate of when.
This issue, an oversight that never should have made it into the live release, has been known and complained about for over a year and the development team has addressed similar issues for other player demographics no larger or important than ours. We’re already in year two, and in a lot of ways this game is still in a beta phase with beta, heck, alpha phase problems. The least you can to is tell us if this is even on your radar to be fixed before year three.
Edit: I didn’t pre-purchase this game to wait over a year for “cosmetic progression” to actually apply to my favored class. And frankly I think you guys should stop adding cosmetic content until every profession can actually use it.
Wow … never seen such an entitled post on these forums …

I know we’re over the year release mark but i can’t shake the feeling that GW2 is still in beta – just without the sticker.
The old moniker that A-net used to sling about, when asked for updates on progression, used to be ‘when it’s ready’…but, seriously, is it?
A quick glance at the forums reveals long standing problems that never seem to be addressed – so, still beta?
Your thoughts…
Never played any other MMO at launch? The one big MMO not to be named had huge and glaring game breaking bugs for years after launch, 8 hour maintainances, 3000 people queues, frequent server crashes and the most horrible imbalance in pvp. To add insult to injury, the trading post was only accessible with the most expensive hardware for the time and several consecutive levels did not have a single quest.
Mind you, 3 years after launch, most of these issues were not yet fixed and some persist to this day, 7 years later.
To compare against that MMO, this game is pristine. Sure there’s a few minor issues here and there, but nothing so game breaking that it makes the game unplayable for most everyone at one level or another.

I’m in the Beta, but haven’t yet joined a group. Seems to function just as the devs wanted – anyone can join. It’s hilarious because I saw a group that was “Looking for more zerk warriors” fill up with necros and thieves.
As funny as it might seem at first glance to ruin speedclear groups, in my opinion it is griefing just as much as going to a fotm10 relaxed run with a zerk mindset. This has to be fixed.

1/ I don’t think the content is impossible without voice chat. In a few weeks everyone will know the proper strategy which basically boils down to Hylek Gun skill #2.
2/ I don’t think there’s anything wrong with using voice chat, especially not for difficult content.
Back at launch, doing dungeons without voice chat was suicide. Nowadays I can do most dungeons with eyes closed. That’s the community learning.

One of my guildies has access to it. AFAIK he hasn’t used it yet.
Well, a LFG tool where 99,9% of the players are not included is kinda useless tbh.
Sure, but staged roll-outs are a very sensible approach. When you’re putting in new functionality or software, you don’t necessarily give it to all users at the same time – you might give it to a few, see how it goes, then to a larger group, then a larger, and so on, until eventually everyone has it.
As noted, they did this before with the TP, too.
1/ with the TP this was done too and to great success
2/ however as vayne says, if the selection is so small that no one uses it, it might be doa because no one uses it. People ain’t gonna use an empty tool regardless of the user base.

The part I like about the Living Story most is the preview we get each week.
I tend to change my desktop background every time a new update is announced, and I read most previews and dev posts.
However once the content launches there’s about 3 steps.
1/ go online after patch. Sometimes this takes as much as a week
2/ understand how the patch works (trains, optimal areas and routes, dulfy), which can take another hour to get into
3/ actually play and enjoy the content.
By the time I’m at step 3, a week or more has passed. Sometimes 3 weeks have passed which means I have exactly one week for two Living Story chapters.
For some content, I really wish I could play it on my own terms. The SAB is something I want to play when I have a few free days. 3rd of November is a national holiday in Germany, as a foreigner that’s the perfect day to binge on SAB …. but it’ll be gone by then. Same for Queen’s Gauntlet. I’d like to do that whenever I feel like spending a full day on learning the mechanics. Too bad I can’t … it’s gone now.
But hey, don’t let my opinion be of any value… I’ve only been a fan since 2005. And don’t let my real life be an issue … I kinda need it to buy gems.
Not an ‘I quit’ post because I’m not quitting. But I do want this to be heard. I want to play the Gauntlet and SAB on my own terms. Is that too much to ask for solo content?

Suggestion:
1-3 Glob[s] of Dark Matter per exotic instead of 0-3.
So no matter how unlucky you are, you know, that after 10 exotics you have enough. Will never happen. Anet wants people to lose gold playing the various slot machines they’ve set up, and so long as there is a zero return, there’s a slim chance the user might drop real cash for gems->gold to buy more exotics.
Monetization in a B2P model is ok to an extent. Anet has gone full on psychosis with it.
Go play an asian MMO for a few minutes if that’s really what you believe.

Mesmers were a big reveal. People speculated about it. Guild Wars 2 Guru had a zillion pages of threads discussing the mesmer reveal. There were probably more posts about the mesmer reveal than there were about vertical progression.
But arena.net only mentioned mesmers on two occasions:
- Was Logan mesmerized by the Queen?
- The release itself
Personally I never joined those mesmer discussions because it was a moot discussion. One might just as well discuss whether the sun would shine tomorrow.
And if that was really one of their core selling points, don’t you think they’d have made it clear for the WoW players and the Rift players who may never have encountered that?
No, I don’t think it was assumed by everyone, though I agree it was probably assumed by most Guild Wars 1 players that thought about such things. But many people who played Guild Wars 1 also played other MMOs as well, and not all of them would have necessarily assumed that.
Lets compromise and agree that a vast majority of players bought GW2 on the pretext that it would have no gear progression. A small minority might have had other ideas but it’s evident from all discussions about Ascended nonsense that people did not expect that to happen.
Yes, if Anet was building their game around it, they’d have had to have said so and made that clear.
Mind you, I agree it was there original intention. I just think other selling points were far more prominent and thus the major selling points of the game to most people.
I do think Exotic happened to be far too easy to get and had to add Ascended gear as a short term solution. However, it was clearly not intended, the entire implementation reeked of a desperate rush to get something, anything into the game resembling character progression. Mike O"Brien himself admitted that during the AMA. Fractals was a mess at launch, the communication was horrible and insulting. If Ascended was planned, the launch wouldn’t have been such a disaster.
Now Arena.net has to make this into a long term good system, which is rather difficult with a botched and desperate launch. They’re doing a good job, the current implementation is pretty OK by my standards. But at no point should you argue that this was the plan all along, the facts clearly show it wasn’t.
Delayed content is eventually good. Rushed content is eternally bad. ~ Shigeru Miyamoto
They are testing on us obviously.
A PTR system is way above their income apparently.
Or they’ve deemed it as useless as it would be.
How on this green earth would a PTR/PTS be useless? Having more testing is always better than not. And having it tested on the players that will play the game into the ground is a good way to go…BEFORE launching it live. GW2 claims to have a QA team, but I don’t think they do their job well at all considering all of the bugs and exploits. I always use WoW as an example, even though I do not play the game nor do I wish to, but Blizzard has had a PTR available for years. Their new content doesnt bug out and isnt as exploitable as GW2.
That’s absolutely not true. That’s like saying that doubling development staff halves development time. It is a well known fact that such logic simply doesn’t work in the real world.
You might say that testing a minor piece of content for 10 years could theoretically deliver perfect software. However, that’s not a viable business model.
No, not having a PTR is either a budget reason, Arenanet feels their stuff is bugless and superior(laugh), or they just can’t be bothered with one.
As it stands, the content is functional for 99% of the players, and hotfixes can cover that other 1%. I don’t think there’s a whole lot to improve honestly, Arena.net churns out pretty functional content at a very fast rate.
The amount of game breaking bugs is lower than in other MMOs, the amount of downtime due to such bugs is almost zero (compare to 8 hour maintainances in other games).
The question really is, is it worth it to delay content for another week, spend tons of money on a test server to fix some minor problems that might or might not be caught in a test environment (because testing hardly if ever happens on a PTR). The answer is a clear and resounding no … it’s not worth it.
Arena.net clearly does a better job than other companies, and as such, simply can’t be bothered with a useless feature like a PTR.
A PTR would improve content at an alarming rate.
This sentence is meaningless. A PTR doesn’t improve content. Best case scenario some minor bugs get found, normal case scenario it achieves absolutely nothing, worst case scenario exploiters hide bugs to exploit a word first. “Alarming rate” is a weasel word but does not apply to fixing bugs.

I walked over at a garage sale last week and found an NES. Looked pristine and had Super Mario Bros and Legend of Zelda. Knew the person who sold it so I took the risk and bought the machine.
Obviously some cables were missing and/or incompatible with my HD television set, but nothing some splicing and soldering couldn’t solve. Little bit later I was enjoying the classics, Mario and Zelda, the ones Super Adventure Box is based on in pristine HD 8 bit graphics.
So how is this related to the SAB … I love the SAB but there’s just one thing that puts me off, puts me off hard. 8 bit games are something you boot up when you feel like it. For example the 9th of October. SAB won’t be there but Mario and Zelda will be. That makes Mario and Zelda superior by far to the SAB, regardless of the quality put into the SAB.
I really feel for Josh Foreman. Looks like he put his heart and soul into the Super Adventure Box, it really looks like a superb game to play sometime in the near future. But it’s all for nothing. I can’t enjoy the game if it’s temporary like this.
