For fun, here’s a bug report from October 2012.

The thing is that bug reports have to be checked and more important reproduced. The falling bug from my experience happens at specifick locations through the dungeon and not fully random. The bug reports dont have any screenshots with the dotted white line showing so it will be hard to reproduce. Specially for a minor bug it is something minor and more of an annoyance then a problem. The thing is that a gm can’t be expected to know bout all bugs in the game. The auto-detect software saw suspicious activity. The GM’s didnt had any reason to suspect that it was not an illegal activity (not knowing the bug) so they suspended. Given the problem of reproducing this bug and given the fact that GM’s can’t know bout all bugs in game, means it is a mistake that can happen.

- Arenanet was open bout it and that gives them credit in my opinion, they didn’t try to hide this mistake.
- It is all reasonable explainable how it couldn’t have been prevented. It was an error in a computer system that wasn’t detectable by GM’s till there was a pattern of people who where complaining bout false suspensions.
- Al people who actually got hurt by this have been tracked down. If some have been overlooked they can contact support and if suspended unjustified they will get their account back.

Last off all. These kind of issues are often used by people to discredit support. Their reason is that these bad people have to gain by discrediting them, namely cause they do engage in illegal activity’s and want to throw dirt at their number 1 enemy in a continuous battle.

Bottom line is that this is an important lesson for both the devs and and GM’s/support people. Gaile’s post is showing they are understanding they did make a mistake and are sorry bout. But people mis-using it to discredit support further then just this are actually helping the real bot’s, cheaters, RTM’s, exploiters, etc.

Thing is, this isn’t bout you think is ok to do or not but by what you agreed on when you started playing. You agreed with the user agreement and therefor also the rules of conduct. In this is stated that what did isn’t allowed. You also agreed to the Conduct breaches and outcomes. So you also agreed that you would get a 72 hour suspension for your first offense. The user agreement is a binding legal agreement so you are legally considered to be warned.

Often people claim that they didn’t read or understood the rules fully. This is not a valid excuse. However if you now with hindsight don’t agree with the rules, you can get out of the agreement. The only thing you have to di us uninstall the game and stop playing. From that moment onwards you are free of this user agreement. (unless you reinstall the game and log in again).

Is it really considered match fixing? I don’t see how it alters the outcome of a match if someone uses the tokens to buy an Ascended amulet and goes back to PvE.

Match manipulation is defined as any action taken to fix or manipulate the outcome of a match or alter or manipulate the rankings or ratings of the ladder. The point is in the world experience wich is a rating system and also would give you more.

Keep in mind when it comes to rules it’s not important what you personally find ok or not, but you have to read them as they are.

I think you mean making an agreement with someone on an enemy server to kill each other in turns?? This is not an exploit but it is matchfixing and that isn’t allowed either.

Arenanet have been stating that they MIGHT add more legendary’s to the game in the future.

Also maybe you should not go for the preview but have to find someone who has it ingame. I always thought Meteorlogicus is very ugly untill I saw someone who had it and was using it.

The wallpaper is conceptart. Concept art is the second step in creating new content. The first is a rough outline of a story and the characters and the second part is an artists making an artistic impression how it looks. Then the content designers are going to work to put them together and make it into actual content.

This means it is just an artists impression. Those people are not the decissionmakers when it comes to capes.

That is not a correct statement. A single dev said a long time ago in a semi-public conversation during an early beta that they WANT to add support for in world duelling.

This is very likely not a bug that needs to be reported here. I’ll ask you to do the following:

a: check you have room in your mailbox. It often helps to delete a few mails and the mail with the item will arrive.

b: If this doesn’t help please file a supportticket at support.guildwars2.com (ask a question) and support will look into this and manually fix it for you.

This has been discussed many time. There is currently nothing like this in game and the support liason has stated there are no plans to implement this in the future. This doesn’t mean it isn’t going to happen ever, but just don’t expect it in the next few months.

I know this, as I did state it. But nobody will argue that there are balancing issues with this game, and ones that exist because of the buttons on 1-5. If the system was designed to create balance and has clearly failed then why not try a new avenue.

They made the same mistake with the dragon bash update. A poi was added (the dead end bar) to divinity’s reach, making it impossible to complete that map. This was hotfixed. unfortunally they are not hotfixing this one.

On the other hand it is still a minor and temporary bug and nothing to be so irritated bout. In the end it’s a game. you should play for relaxation and recreation not to get yourself upset by it

All temple’s are possible, but for balthasar you need a decent sized group, and then still a bit of coordination.

The smallest group I did it with was 15 players big, below I only had failures.

The trick is in recognising the problem. The group dies at the place where you have to turn to the left to go up to the temple. The reason is that while the group is often fighting ahead, the npc’s get a group of nobles from behind and get AoE-ed by them. Understanding this means a few people stay behind and take that huge amount of AoE instead of the npc’s. The same issue happens at the next two turns. The pressure will go higher, so for the last bit you need 15 people or more.

I can nowadays not be bothered by doing a temple if I need armor. I like to do them for recreational puposes, but when I need them I go to this website: http://www.gw2bear.com/status.quaggan?check=Balthazar&server=NA

(use the nav-bvar on the right to select other temples or your region). This site tells you on wich servers in your region (NA or EU) a certain temple is open (completed). Simply guest there to get your armor.

There is a lot of misconception bout the term Guildwars. Support has stated (during the time they developped gw1) that the name was chosen for the historic event in tyrian lore thats called the guildwars. This is where npc’s where organised in guilds that where fighting each other for power and influence over Tyria. The devs have always claimed that the GvG format in GW1 has nothing to do with the name of the game.

Don’t worry, it is a common misunderstanding, and I do believe it is cause by the devs. Remember the name was chosen a long time ago when they didn’t knew it would be this successful. I do think they agree that it was poorly chosen, but it is too late to change the name of the franchise now. Off course there are parts of the community asking for guild versus guild pvp formats. If you agree, then follow gassy’s answer to support those suggestions in the suggestions section of this forum.

Arenanet’s refund policy goes for direct customers (through credit card) or for resellers (the shop you bought it at). But when you bought the game through a reseller it means the reseller has to ask for the refund. This means they are investing time and effort with no profit and sometimes they hesitate to do so. Besides that they dont always know bout arenanet’s refund policy and are afraid that they loose money. Just keep in mind when they dont refund you, it tells more bout the reseller then bout arenanet. so judge the reseller for it and not arenanet

This indeed, unless it is an offensive guildtag. then you can ask people to report you. if support agrees it is offensive you get a forced name change (and a temporary suspension and an accountmark).

This is off course only usefull if it is offensive. If it is, it is a matter of time when it happens, so there is nothing wrong with helping time.

If it isn’t offensive then nothing can be done except disbanding and recreating the guild. Arenanet has said they are looking into ways to make this a paid service but there are no concrete plans and no garantee it will ever happen.

Step one: Buy the armor piece on a character in the order of whispers.
Step two: get a low level armor piece of the same kind (so in your case e.g. a medium chest piece that has the colour white and is for e.g. level 5 characters)
Step three: use transformation crystal to transfer the skin from the OoW’s piece to the low level white piece.
Step four. Put the now white piece with OoW skin in the bank (it is accountbound now)
Step 5. get the character you want it on and bring an armorpiece with the stats you want the OoW skin on. You also need a transformation stone or crystal (if the end-item will be level 80 a crystal if it is lower level a stone).
Step 6: use the stone to bring the skin to the item with the desired stats and equip it.

I have met some people who have trouble with a written guide and it is a bit technical. so if needed, I have no problem to meet you on my guilds TS-server to help you in more detail. Just sent me a PM with your timezone and desired times and I try to make an appointment where we both can be available.

There are people who use bot programs to automate their characters. I’m not saying the op did… I don’t know anything about his situation. But if people who DO use such tools are told that they were caught using tool X or tool Y, they’ll either switch to other tools or will modify their scripts.

The situation support is describing is that they know you broke the roles for 95% certain, but 95% isn’t 100%. when there is doubt one should get the benefit of the doubt.

Bottom line is that support is telling the OP that he very likely got away from something he shouldn’t have been doing and they advise him to (re) read the user agreement and additional document to make sure he won’t be doing that again in the future. This cause he actually should have been punished.

In my country it has happened that someone called William Petersonwas caught redhanded when robbing a bank, he was caught by the police and he was brought before a judge. The police however misspelled his name as Wiliam Peterson, so on paper he wasn’t the guy who did what he was accused off and got of the hook.

Support got in a situation simular then this where they still believe the OP did wrong but have to let him go cause of mistake on their part. Or atleast thats how I read their reaction. I haven’t seen any evidence off course and it’s not my place to judge. so my advice to the op is to re-read the useragreement and make (more) sure not to break it in the future.

hmmmm, as far as I know the mail to your old name@hotmail.com adress will still be delivered to your new account. Also hotmail has always been a part of microsoft..

But if you want to change your emailadress your have to contact support ( support.guildwars2.com – ask a question). due to this being an important part of your account security only support can reset it and only after they checked you are you.

Hopefully this bug was fixed properly because I just did (or better say, still am doing) the jumping puzzle in question and I fell at one point at the jumping puzzle and was teleported to metrica provinence’s sky. Don’t remember this being a normal case so hopefully nothing goes wrong with your detector just because the game decided to introduce a bug >:(

The detector prolly still detect it, but that means a GM will be reviewing your actions. They will see you did that jumping puzzle and know bout the bug triggering this false positive and no to not suspend you now.

Apparently you did offend someone as they reported it, and support agreed after reviewing it. As to that last sentence, there is your problem right there, no one “had it coming”, if you cannot be civil to other players, it’s best to not say anything at all as you have just found out.

No, some people have it coming. If you don’t believe that you live in the fantasy land that you are playing your toon in. Disrespect is returned with disrespect. Civility is a relative term. If ask a question and get disrespectful answers back, you had better believe they will get the same treatment. Whatever though, It doesn’t really matter anyway since the banhammer holder wanted to flex their muscles. 72 hours is just stupid for something like this. 24 hours is sufficient.

And thats the behaviour we (the mayority of the community and Arenanet) doesn’t want. I know some games are governed that way, but GW2 has indeed a zero tolerance policy. You can try to go against it (and get longer suspensions in the future), or just give them the treatment you just got in the future. The reason it is 72 hours is that it starts at the moment the suspensionb is given, some people dont play for 2-3 days or longer and dont even notice the ban.

Your first suspension will always be 72 hours. that is the minimum. Nobody had faul language coming, if another player misbehaves, you simply report him/her and if you want to block. It is not good to answer bad things with bad things.

So bottom line. You had a warning when you agreed to the user agreement (and agreed to keep your tone civilised). You could have given the bad person your treatment but instead you decided to ask for it yourself.

I hope you learn from it. You got 72 hours to think bout it.

This is the guildwars 2 forum. At the moment GW2 doesnt have guild versus guild matches and as far as I know there are no plans for adding them. There are guild versus guild matches in gw1. you can observe them by pressing a key in that game (O or B if I remember right).

your guild can aquire a private arena for a month, this is password protected and can be used to battle other guilds. If you have the password you can join as an observer. This is done in the heart of the mists (enter a match but click the observer icon).

Well I’m not sure if the magic in the bloodstones can still be considered uncorupted. Like Randall Greystone is saying in Arah, The Gods increased the bloodstone’s power by pulling energy from Zhaitan himself (not knowing it was an elder dragon). I think this ‘magic’ can’t be considered uncorrupted. So the clean magic it was giving might be untrue since then. It might even be that it is the reason why magic was used in a violent way at first.

I personally dont use that many different weapons per profession. I got 3 level 80
’sa. My engineer always uses the rifle (plus offcourse kits). My guardian switches the secondary weaponset sometimes from scepter/shield to staff. My Ele switches from scepter/dagger to staff from time to time.

Still I know it is annoying that when switching from 1h/1h to 2h it means that the offhand goes to the top instead of the safebox but the the only true solution is to use special bags (I reckon that an exotic only bag from the mysts is the best solution, provided all your 7 weapons are exotics).

This isn’t a bug but intended. It is not possible to trade karma to tradable items. To ge tthis done, armor and weapons bought with karma can not be salvaged.

I think your issue is with the Gravelings in the gravelings tunnels. These foes are there to be killed and not to be run past. I know most groups do it and I have done that too. But they are actually palced there to fight them. If you want to skip parts of a dungeon you are required to bring specifick skills, specially for this part. So unlock a skill that grant stability and use it.

They can also be found in the mists (Eternal battlegrounds), and they are only exclusive to Orr in the currently accesable maps. Who knows it might grow in other places too.

I did the jumping puzzle the Tuesday night the patch for Sky Pirates was released. I got the email of the ban. I have never used a third party software thing. As of Saturday I am STILL banned. And Yes I was told by support the same thing many of you got. I am pretty unhappy. I have been playing GW1 when it released and GW2. Have never ever cheated. I hope they can resolve this or they lost a customer for life.

I know you are upset and I can understand it. The way the suspension system works is that you where suspended by a GM after the system flagged your account. This means it can take in some situations several days (and yes even weeks or months) before you got suspended. So assuming it was the jumping puzzle cause thats one of the last things you did isn’t right. Also understand that from the point of view of Arenanet it means that not all bans done in the last few days will be undone.

I can be that support has missed you when backtracking the wrongly banned accounts.

I recommend you update your originally ticket (if this is closed permanent then create a new one). Explain that you still disagree with your suspension and that you think you where suspended cause of the Goemm’s lab bug (if creating a new ticket, it might be a good plan to include Goemm’s lab in the subject).

If that doesn’t result in a positive reply and action you can ask the support liason (Gaile) to review your matter. Please do so by replying to this thread and posting your 12-digit ticket number so she can find your specifick case.

The bloodstone wasn’t created by the gods or king doric, but by the Seers during the last awakening of the elder dragons to contain uncorrupted magic. After the Elder dragons went back to sleep (how and why is unknown) the lands where therefor without magic.

When the 5 gods arrived Abadon used the bloodstone to gift magic to the races of Tyria.

Cause of the mis-use of magic, the blood of Doric was used to seal the stone and split it into five pieces. The pieces where hidden into the Volcano, wich later erupted sending the pieces around the world.

I see the bloodstones as they are now as a control device for using magic and not as the source of magic. It is said that the 5 Gods collected many magical artificats and not only the bloodstone.

3) it is simply unknown. A lot of theorycrafting has been done, but they are just somewhere.

4) I believe these bloodstone shards are indeed parts of the originally bloodstone. But they are not as powerfull or important as the 5 big pieces, they are as being said just shards, that broke off during the split. If you do Arah explorablemode path 4 (the seer path) you will learn more bout this.

This is the most important dialogue:

Just a small advice wich worked on my server every time. Get your guildies that are doing the same together, and stay up late one day and do it in the middle of the night. It’s perfectly possible to take the castle then with as much kitten people. There might be others responding, but most of the time it is after you take it. So when your in run like hell to get the different points.

When you started playing you agreed to the user agreement. This includes that you promised to not use faul language. There is even a specific note bout racial slur. That was your warning. Arenanet has found that additional warnings have zero effect.

The first offense is indeed 72 hours.

Whatever others did are not an excuse to do the same. If they broke the rules you should have reported them and optionally have blocked them (the last to protect yourself). Then they would have your faith and you where playing the game right now.

No this is not true. Arenanet does not auto-ban. There is a detection system that detects illegal behaviour but that only marks accounts as suspicious. The suspension is done after a GM (human being) looked at the evidence.

The GM doesn’t have a video of what one did, but works with more technical data. This means he will see in this case that the character is teleported to a place he found to be impossible to reach without third-party software. This resulted in suspensions of these people. After recent complaints they found out the suspicious mark was placed due to a bug in the transportation system of this specific puzzle.

This means that as of now the GM’s are aware and it is extremely unlikely you get banned for doing this jumping puzzle. The puzzle in question was Goemm’s lab in Metrica province.

When transmutating you combine the looks from one item to the stats of the other item. The donorweapon deliver the stats is the one that counts for the mechanics (its basicly the essence of the weapon). So once transmutated you can’t use the twilight skin anymore to craft eternity.

There is no way round this either.

If it will happen or not, well maybe even the lore.writers at Arenanet don’t know yet.

Yes it is perfectly safe to do the puzzle.
Arenanet isn’t auto-banning. The GM’s (human beings) bans people. They are aware of this now so nothing to worry bout.

This isn’t a mechanic that is responsable for this. Are you certain you didn’t do it yourself on accident?? You should be able to see this in the guildlog. If it is saying something Bailey.6892 made promoted someoneelse.1234 to leader you did it yourself.

If the log’s don’t have any information bout this you can contact support. Keep in mind that support does not interfere with internal guild affairs. So if they see it was your own error they can’t do anything for you.

How far back did you look for false positives? I ask because, while the problem became apparent with the introduction of a new incentive for lots of people to do the jumping puzzle at once, the problem with the jumping puzzle itself has been around for some time. I fell through the map when I was running it a month or two ago. I wasn’t banned, thankfully, but it’s not hard to imagine that people were banned for this long before the Sky Pirates release, with no idea why.

A lot of untruth in this thread. I warning to everyone. Yes there are many many people claiming they got banned/suspended falsly. The truth is that almost all of them are false reports. I have been on a forum with an advertisement for a third party program. The program came with detailed instructions how to avoid detection and how to discredit Arenanet when suspended in an attempt to get unsuspended. The really bad guys can be very very bad.

One question is a good question. How far back support goes when identifying false positives. I am not working for Arenanet so I can’t garantee anything. A guildleader will remain a guildleader forever. It is therefor advisable to always appoint a different person with the same rights and rank as the guildleader. Off course this person should be trustworthy beyond doubt. In your situation the only solution is to start all over again with a new guild.

Yes guildleaders are being hit harder, but they are supposed to set an example. Getting banned as a guildleader is in my opinion far worse then getting banned as a normal player. If it was my guild I would seriously doubt wether i would join a new guild with him as a leader. Not thathe/she should hang on the highest tree, but maybe just being a member udner new leadership would be appropiate.

This off course with all respect and assuming he was permantly suspended for a very valid reason.

Firts off all Gaile Thank you for getting clear bout this. It shows how transparent Arenanet is. Not hiding behind mistakes but being open and honesat.

Then to Thundolfe. You are right it sounds wrong and cruel when you are wrongfully accsued. But keep in mind that there are people trying to get out of a ban no matter what. They use any hesitation of words against the support people. They are plain bad people. The harsh tone is needed for those people who where wrong.

Arenanet could have handled this quitly. Not saying anything and just unsuspending the people involved with a cryptic thing like ‘your where suspended,but on further review there is not solid proof. Though we still think we made the right decision you are unsuspended. However we do encourage you to stay clear from harmfull activity’s in the future.’

This statement (i made it up myself) would be from a company that wants to do badly. Arenanet however has proven to be open and transparant. They made a mistake and are not trying to hide it. I take my hat off for that!!

I think this suggestion is a very goodone, but something that is not i nthe hands of arenanet. The publishing of these books is not done by Arenanet or NCsoft but by the book publishing company Simon & Schuster. So the decission to make this into an audiobook is one they have to make (and I doubt if they are reading this).

This suggestion has been tried, but it doesn’t work that way. When guesting you use the influence earned guildservices on your home server guild. So you keep the guildstash (if unlocked) on the home server and not the server your guesting on.

I am under the strong impression you are not truthfull here. I will explain the reasons. You are complaining bout an IP-ban and taking a big ‘I am the victum’ role on you. You keep reacting to people who are commenting on your suggestion. But you do not react to the fact that your story just doesn’t add up!

An IP-ban is a very very heavy meassure that is not taken by Arenanet unless you (or in this case your claiming your brother) did things that are extremely wrong. I’m not talking ow he called someone lesbian wrong. I’m talking bout being a thread to the game and the community wrong. Massive botting, Hacking cheating, RMT-ing and morelikely all of that then just one thing.

As a brother you should take more responsability.

You are asking for a second change and you will get one (assuming your personal account has never been used for bad things). That is to throw your borther out of the house (or if your living with your parents to move out yourself), taking distance from him and what he does. And take up a new internetconenction and a new associated IP-adress. If you follow the rules and your brother isn’t using that same IP-adress Arenanet will have no trouble with it at all.

As for your suggestion itself. This is a bad plan for the simple reason that there are bad people (like your brother) who do anything to cheat. They even make caluclations bout how many accounts they have to hack. Giving them ways of tracking how long a hacked account for example is usable makes them utilize these numbers in their advantage to plot bad things. Besides that, there shouldnt be an amount of times you can break the rules, you jsut dont break the rules. The fact that people are given a second, third, fourth, etc. change isn’t a right. Nobody has the right to break the rules.
