yes a seconds build i am using is 0,0,2,6,6 bit less dmg but more healing and daze abilities
i will try to put video of group play with this set. nice fast aoe (faster than the sb)
so far p/p is still hard set for duels
the dmg just isnt enough combine with zerk armor set
shatter mesmer exelle in bursting as they can put you in 10% hp with 1 combo, go stealth and finish you, while in p/p thief you cant hit from stealth and your dmg is lower for bursting.
i manage to take some shatter mesmer by surprise with thieves guild and ambush combine with ricochet but my winning % is the lowest compare to other thief build and weapon set
i also played LB power trapper
so compare it to the LB ranger
1500 range>1050 range
1.5k-2k dmg from AA > 500-1.2k dmg from AA
1 sec AA < 0.82 AA
rapid fire 6-8k dmg < unload 5-7k dmg (but spammable)
15k base health > 10k base health
pet > no pet
so basically ranger better then the p/p set until you take it with group fight where the p/p set flourish
also so far ricochet procs nicely for me

ricochet mainly used in group environment and if playing against mesmer as they are hard to hit
i did try 8% healing as well. dont know if its good alone without ricochet
also shadow trap after using it feel bit clanky
but i like your ideas on ini regen but pay attention that i dont think you wanna burn your stun break for ini
also losing swiftness from TotC and range from pistol
but can work
so far 1v1 could take rangers, some engies, warriors, guardians,
had problems against p/d thieves, shatter mesmer if they catch you, d/d ele
you need some condi management
i only wish p/p would gain some power buff

group sniper, roaming (cant handle versus all build but easy to stealth away)
rotation:
traps-> sneak attack-> unload->body shot-> unload-> traps
dmg:
sneak attack 3k+1k bleed
unload 4k-7k depend on enemy armor
dont forget 40% dmg below 50% hp

i think the only problem you will get is against fast hitting zerker or bunker. as scepter is slow slow weapon and even if you pop up 3 clone which wouldn’t have been killed the stack you can make from AA are 3-4 stacks
dont forget that ppl usually run with -40% food duration so 4-6 seconds from AA will last only 2-3 seconds which doesnt make any threat to any guardian/warrior/thief/necro etc…
consider going with CI and BI to buff you dmg and conditions diversity
i like the pistol which can stack 5-6 bleeding and left ignore is deadly
and heal skill – you need to use it in 10 sec rotation to create aoe torment (dont forget if you havent already knew it)
if you really like pu go for it. imo dont much needed

yes the traps really helpful in small scale fight and funny how ppl QQ on your stealth
i think we gonna see more of them now as the runes are awesome
but i think the superspeed is bugged as it seems to get only 33% movement and not 100%
in 1 sec burning you need 100% duration to make it 2 sec. maybe thats the reason
need conditions control – as you lack in it. so maybe food -40% or another signet
you power is bit low so maybe bloodlust for more 250 power
you use SB so you will be fighting close range so maybe take an axe instead and warhorne as the axe will give you chill which boost your dmg
yes many ranger already use that build

so far this build par with the shatter mesmer and the thief as i manage to take them without them being able to spot me so i always put them 5-10% hp with just 1 rotation
as cufu said i dont use my trps for dmg rather than to gain stealth and reposition myself on new location being able to burst again
the food is something i am playing to see if i can get more dmg 10% while moving but not a must as -40% condi duration
so far conditions build like p/d can take me down easily as they SR when they low and burst me again if i am not running away . but necro/engi will have hard time
i took out trapper expertise and change it to quick draw – this way if i am range the trap will be on my feet so give me time on stealth and i gain more skills use with LG
in group fight (so far tested it with pugs) its good build which make you the perfect sniper – shoot go stealth and shoot again from new location. i may not down players but they will go heal at the back while not contributing to the group

i theorycraft for wvw power ranger trapper build (if mentioned before sry)
mainly for group fight but can do well in roaming too
main concept lets feel how thieves feel with stealth abusing (ok not so much abusing…)
the basic:
i am using power build for massive burst from range
i am using traps to gain stealth and repositioning myself with super speed as well
with 40% condi duration the vulnerability will last 7-14 seconds so i got 20% dmg modifier
also with trait and food i got 35% dmg modifier so its +55% dmg
i am susceptible to conditions but the burst should give me the time to pressure my enemies to go on defense
also if i get stuck in tight situation i use frost trap (which does no dmg) and stealth away
instead of GS you can take sb or sword/warhorn or dagger

with 3.7k armor no zerk can hit me
although conditions base enemy can kill me but my pressure can kill them sooner
i like to rotate a bit as mention above
i will start with air if the enemy is range class thus using SW+Gale+BF
i have no problem in dodging as i get 100% when using AA in air and in earth
i will go to earth so deal heavy pressure
when i need to heal i use OF to secure the heal and condi cleanse
my burning pressure is high with 100% burning duration so AA will last 4 seconds and phoenix to cleanse condition also
i will use water to chill and daze when needed
nice roaming build for wvw and pvp arena

venom share will share your attribute instead your allies
so if your allies got 2.5k power they will get yours 2k power?!
if so if you go full condi and will share 2k condition you will also share your 900 power?!
i couldnt verify it with my team
i tried it but i am still thinking that venom share with ambush is stronger as you share your condi dmg

the basic
Q-why use mtd if you hardly shatter ?
A- i try to use in in the right moment as conditions are dot and not spike dmg like power shatter. so u gonna see me try to harass to bait ppl to use cleanse and heal skill and then shatter for massive condi dmg spike usually after they are 50% hp

A- not at all. this build can counter player which dont use much anti condi skills and food. so -60% condition duration would just make your life harder. but everyone got weak spot so warrior and thief will have hard time as they got to move around so torment will affect them the most. but other like ele’s wont feel you much
Q- what is your soft spot
A- dmg spike like shatter mesmer and d/p thieves which i miss to interrupt
Q- it seems like pu is better option instead of mtd
A- pu seems to get nerfed a bit as the dmg is not high anymore. sure you can handle without mtd as IE is good but many builds can just kills your clones fast. thus i like to counter it with mtd when needed
Q- what is your dps in average
A- as you can see my dmg start pretty low around 1k dps and when i use my skills i can get an average 2k-3k dps which for conditions is high as it ignore armor
my best was 5k with around 8 confusion, 8 torment 10 bleed and burning
Q- is it good for tpvp
A- may so but i hardly does it. i know you can control points much better the power shatter and you can spike team with your shatters which is nice help

i know LB got buffed but i dont think its OP
1v1 if i see ranger i will be bit more careful (i play mesmer, thief, ele, necro and ranger)
sure i get burst down in 2 sec by 3 rangers target me as the same for 3 thieves and any other classes
but still its annoying to think ranger can kill me
i get what you saying but after i saw the sniper ranger groups in wvw i think the p/p set is bit more valueable which act like the ranger LB (not the range but better burst)
so same act different profession
i went with power p/p set and traps as i was playing around it before patch and now with the stealth abilities the p/p set much needed is nice too

also the 10 might stack buffing your condi dmg so the aa also does nice condi pressure
yes might be as conditions are DOT thus you need to use more F skills to do dmg
although i try to use F2+3 and not 1 and time it after i see my enemy uses his cleanse and heal skills and meanwhile using scepter block and staff AA for pressure so it might seem like a gameplay of non shatter and more PU build

from my experience in pvp condition works less better than shatter power mesmer but still doable
if you meet shatter mesmer he will probably win as you conditions doesnt pressure him too much or any other zerk build
i like the shatter condition build which if i manage to catch my enemy after his cd use i will probably win
i think the different now for condi build is the IE triat
it doesnt matter if you go shatter with mtd or not
i like to go 0,4,2,2,6 with condition runes and when i shatter my condition is buff with 100-200 more dmg and also torment and confusion stacks
the different pre patch and post patch for codi shatter are hadly notice
the main difference is the IE on the staff
ppl call it shatter condition and expect to do the same shatter rotation like the power shatter but its hardly the same
conditions are DOT so you shatter should be use smartly
i usualy start with staff creating 3 clones far from each other which can stack now nice pressure 10-15 bleed or if they get killed 3-5 bleed stacks instead
and i start to shatter when i see my enemy low on hp or blown his cd
if i manage to block with scepter and hit shatter below 50% hp they usualy dead
but overall i still find this build hard against bursty build like shatter mesmer/warrior
thief are easy though or hard to kill with the stealth but cant kill you eaither
the scepter torment AA is hardly notice so i use it for cover condition now and than
2 more points can go domination for cripple , or inspiration for condi clear on heal
you can go krait runes, perplexity
you can change the heal mor mantra and activate the rune more often
basic tactic:
create clone with staff ie is amazing
go scepter and try to block for torment proc and use shatter #2
going for the kill – use mirror for more shatter #3
use illusion skills and AA with scepter a bit and go staff again
the enemy will end with poison, bleed, burning, 6-9 confusion and 8-11 torment
Your maths did not indicate that you were using all the above. 1-2 ticks is still a lot more than zero per clone you claimed.
You said you won most of the fights vs the warrior with -60% condi duration. On top of -60% condi duration, warriors are supposed to be resilient towards conditions.. Condi build overpowering an anti condi build? That sounds OP….
I’m going to go with that was just a bad warrior that is also getting used to his class changes. I don’t think your example proves the changes aren’t OP.
if fighting 3min i think the build/trait cant call op. the tactic is basic. i let myself be below 50% health so the warrior (or any player) focus on me for easy kill while my clone pressure a bit till i shatter after he blows his cd.
i am also miss the confusion but now when i see thief who stand still cause 5 stacks of torment when they are on low hp is so funny as well, and also see enemy running away and killing himself
i dont think its op because
1. the condition is dot
2. the build makes you to stay active (not like PU prepatch)
3. your AA wont do much dmg just cover condition and harassing
4. my hp and armor arent so high (ex dire pd thief)
5. other condition build like warrior s/s, necro, thief, engi can do better and faster
this post is to see what the community think about condi mesmer after patch after they have tested it
my build is shatter build with all you said above. and i didnt need your advise on it because its not the subject here.

in wvw even if you get 100% torment duration the -60% duration will take in back to 1 -2 seconds only
sure not everyone take -60% but -40% mostly everyone
and as i said in other words its much stronger more viable now but not op like some ppl said without explaining why.
also forget to mention i fight warrior in wvw while he had -60% condi duration
my torment rarely last long to do any dmg
2 sec is 0.8 sec so no tick
3 sec is 1.2 sec so only 1 tick
bleeding tick for 4 seconds so again so harm there
but when i shatter and block for 10 torment, 5 confusion, 5 bleeding than i saw some progress
so again even fight and not op
i heard some ppl say that after the patch the condition mesmer is way to op
sure staff AA can proc more bleeding , the burning for me is more of the same before and after.
but the clones need to stay alive for it
sure the scepter got nice torment buff but as i can see it its only cover conditions which condi mesmer were lacking as with only 5 torment stack with clone but slow movement and skill rotation can get you killed
i use shatter condition build
i duel some thief and here are the result
i won most of the time but the conditions were easily cleanse only with stealth trait so the fight went longer
if he took the bite and got blocked and 5 torment stack i use shatter for 3 more stacks of torment.
i tried not to go in stealth like PU build only torch skill and the fight was even
i fight engi
even fight as engi can control the area better and kill my clones easily
i fight guardian
also fair fight but less dangerous for the mesmer . clones hardly stayed alive longer to do OP dmg above
i fight warrior
i won most of the fight
i fight also in hot join and killed so easily but again preety much new ppl which never tried to kill my clones or use blind etc
so my conclusion is
staff AA can do massive dmg to noob ppl as the bleeding can stack fast – i am still dont know if its ok or not
the scepter buff is defenetly not op – if enemy die from 5 torment stacks they need to learn. p/d thief can stack 5 torment 10 bleed, poison, cripple, immobilize and its much safer than shatter condition, engi can stack massive condition burst on an area
so now the mesmer can do it too if their clones dont die
also dont forget many classes got buff too so dont scream op till time pass by and ppl will learn how to deal with clones
regarding pu (i dont like it but had to test it) not much as a change but shatter condition is more powerful and now can bring more builds versitly to the table
basic pu 4,4,6,0,0 is too low now so i guess ppl will go to 0,4,6,0,4 and will be more condi vulnerable
i run condi shatter wit scpeter as second set
the scpeter only give a cover condition for me
you cannot stand 4 seconds and just AA with slow weapon like the scepter
also even if 3 clones up te torment can stack between 4-5 (no durstion buff) so again mainly cover condition
its not a shatter build rather than clone build
after patch basiacly every build with staff can do good dmg just with AA
if you want to shatter go 2,4,2,0,6 build to benefit the torment on shatter
burst and conditions are not alike
burst is an instant dmg and condition is DoT
so if you want to spike a burst you need power+critdmg+crit chance
to be pain in the neck you can go condi
so on the paper you can say hybrid will do the most damage over time but the thief lack the defensive to go with it not like the d/d ele, warrior etc
condi shatter – 2,4,2,0,6 or 0,6,2,0,6
will try the mantras with power build
thief hasnt been designed for hybrid
low hp low armor low boon gaining cant give you the option
so will it works yes in some cases but will it be optimum for every scenario i dont think so
they design it for the ranger not for the thieves
but thinking now of the p/p build with 2 traps mmmm….
thanks a lot and i do try to take the mantra and mender purity but for me as i see it if i stay on the defense i will die eventually so i try to put more pressure on my enemies but is seems the pressure is not enough to handle those condi builds
maybe the torment AA will give some edge or the ie trait
but for power mesmer i really dont know

pu mesmer not hard but annoying

i am trying now the shatter condi but it seems i cant do enough pressure and fast enough for shatter build and if i manage to stack 10 torment and 5 confusion they dont have many cover conditions so they get cleanse fast

basicaly thief can pressure you with constant 5-8 bleed stacks and burst from few more conditions with venoms
engi can stack you with 5 bleed stacks and more conditions in more dps range
necro can stack you 10 bleed stacks and burst with few conditions with torment and signet and fear
mesmer (pu or not pu) can stack 6-9 bleed stack with only dd trait with clones death and with phantsm crit 3 more but got less bursty conditions
now the ie will give you the chance to do more conditions dmg and maybe constant burning which equal to 6 stacks of bleeding and with shatter build more torment and with AA scpeter more torment for covering the condition you want to stack
warrior can do 15 bleed stack and 5 torment
ranger can do 8 bleed stacks and with traps few more bursty conditions
so basicly i think it wont be much a change rather the player have to observe when to attack , when to shatter , and not hide so much in stealth if you PU and use your staff clone maybe far from eachother to do more dmg
so i think not much a change but more variant of builds to come
the fact ppl continue to forget is the pu OPiness isnt the DD trait alone
it is combination of both stealth and clone deaths trait
if you take out the stealth i am sure ppl wouldnt be so much unti for the clone death traits change
if the mesmer can use stealth efective as any thief it is worng for me (i play both thief and mesmer)
if the trait which gives boons on stealth would have been 3 boon for 3 sec and 15-20 sec cooldown it would push the pu mesmer to more tactical active game play and not just hiding and be immunie to attack from blocks and protection
also anet gave us torment and more conditions from AA and IE trait which should compenstate the loss from clone death traits while having to be more active in gameplay and not just spamming clone to death

i am playing some power pu/power shatter/condi shatter
base armor +2500-2900
dmg when with power build 2.2k base
crit dmg 200%
crit chance 40%
condi dmg 2.1k
weapon used staff or gs with sw/t when power build, and with condition sc/p+staff
as i tried several build it seems its not the build rather my playstyle
ure i can get them to below 50% hp but it seems they have better ways to restore hp and protect themselve than i do with my mesmer
main problems
d/p thieves
med guardian
few hambow warrior
d/p build can sustain stealth and burst me whenever they want. so i cant really react or put enough pressure so the fight goes between 30 sec – 1 min
sometime i can get them down while i am down also
med guard can pull so much aoe pressure blind block and leaps to be on my back while my conditions cant hurt them much
any tips welcome
