I don’t expect to much from Anet.Just look how much time took them to build a LFG tool…
I want only a few things:
- Connect the map chat between the Main cities
- Disable Team chat in WvW and leave only Map chat
- Disable Map chat in PvP and games like Keg brawl.Leave only Team chat.
I never understood why there were more than one chats active at the same time.I find it useless.I talk specifically for Map and Team chats.Nothing else.

Exactly this!
I’m really happy with the change too
I for once am really happy with the Mega servers. No more empty maps
About the lag.You can always turn off character limit and model.
Put settings on Low for World bosses and such.Even my 5 year old computer handles them fine on medium settings.
PvP is not meant to be equal. If someone doesn’t like what is happening to him(ganking, farming) must stop doing the puzzle and go do it when there are less people. When you are PvP enabled there is no such thing as etiquette.Everything can happen to you.’’Reasonable’’?WTF are you talking about.PvP is never reasonable neither fair. It’s kill or be killed.Nothing more nothing less
There’s competition and there’s “just being a jerk”. If you don’t think etiquette and respecting other players matters, go into the Arena and start messing up other people’s duels or GvG. See how they react to you. (And remember that even ANet reprimanded their own staff member when he complained that GvG’ers were “ruining his game mode” and started kicking them out.)
If your retort is that people in the Arena are obviously there for duelling/GvG and not for open PvP, then how is that different from the players who are just there to complete the JP for their achievement? They are here for a completely different experience to what you want to enforce on them. Attacking them or shoving them off cliffs when they are non-hostile to you is like those guys who keep blasting skill #1 on the Horn in your ear when you’re at the Bank or BLTC, or who just keep spamming your chat window with /surprised emotes. You just want to annoy other players.
Ultimately though, I think the fault lies with ANet for not including a solution that lets people who just want to do the JP for the achievement get through without any trouble from other players. They should have put an NPC at the start of the JP that gives you the Determined buff so you’re completely invulnerable to other players, but also disables all your skills.
I agree that in instanced PvP exists competition. But that JP is exactly like Open world PvP and it is never fair.So i say people must deal with it.Everything can happen to you in Open world PvP.
If Anet wanted to make OS a non-PvP zone they could do it hundreds of times before.
If it was another MMO i would say don’t join PvP server if you don’t like World PvP.Here i could say if you don’t like to be ganked there are a few solutions:
- Play with friends
- Use a thief
- Play in off hours when there is no one
- Buy a mesmer portal
- Or just kill them before they have the chance to kill you
(edited by moiraine.2753)
Threads like this are great because you can just immediately tell which one of the kittenheads replying to it is one of the ganking kittens. sorry but you are trying to bleed stone asking them nicely not to be kittens. Such lowly filth know not the word “reasonable” or “etiquette”.

PvP happened in PvP environment go figure…If you don’t like it stop going to PvP areas to be ganked.
other than that…grew some kitten balls and stop crying me rivers.

YES
I agree with everything Fenrir said.
Only Arah and FotM may be a little challenging.Well Arah is very buggy but none the less.
Everything else is very zergy and speed clearing..
The dredge fractal is pain in the……and this comes from someone whose runs don’t take more than 40minutes.The 1st room is not hard and the coridors after that too.But after that the room with the hundred dredges that you have to kill is bloody insane…Nothing hard there except they are ’’billions’’…
Hello Cotser i will talk with you in game today when i see you online.
Greetings to everyone
So basically i’m forming a dungeon speed clearing group. What i’m looking for are experienced zekers with good knowledge of the instances. The players must have very high dps so we can move as fast as possible.I’m looking for people who are on EU servers only. The runs will be every day from 16:00 GMT.You must have at least 5 free hours.
The classes that i need are – Guardian,Elementalist,Thief and Mesmer.
- The guard must be with zerker gear and defensive build. He must know how to use reflects and stability. When to heal and decurse us.
- The ele has to be scepter/dagger might stacker.Must know when to drop bow, hammer, fgs.
- The mesmer has to know how to pull/push mobs to the walls.
It’s really important everyone to know the stacking spots perfectly so we can burst everything(trash, bosses) and don’t lose time.Potions and food is good to have but not required.
Here is the list of dungeons that we will do daily:
- AC – 1/2/3
- HotW – 1
- SE – 1/3
- TA Up&F/F
- CM – 1/2/3
- CoE – 1/2/3
- CoF – 1/2
- Arah – 3
The dungeons will be done exactly how i wrote them.If someone is interested to write in this thread or to find me in game and we will talk more.

As others have said, this is a bad, bad idea. Do some research on ‘WoW trade chat’ if you want a more specific set of reasons.
I come from WoW so i don’t know what is the problem with it.I find the chat just fine.It never bothered me.
(edited by moiraine.2753)
Oh, nice for you. Now what about doing it on the main server along with guests and random people?
You know, like an open world event.
Actually TxS does it in the main server.Overflows are hard to make right now
You are posting in the wrong forum.
For those not comprehending race change in the traditional sense, there is another way too:
Character item transfer
Just one simple restriction:
- Both characters are the same classYou select Character A (original) and Character B (your “race change” character). Everything on Character B is deleted – bags, items, trinkets, the works. Every item on Character A is transfered to Character B as an exact duplicate (complete with souldbound), exception being race specific gear which is left in the inventory, accountbound/soulbound on use. Character A is deleted after the transaction and Character B get renamed to what Character A had.
Basicly, you’re transmuting your character.
And there you have it. Another incredibly simple solution to changing your race. It doesnt even affect the story – Character B has his own story which may or may not be completed.
Exactly this. You said it perfect Dawdler
I wouldn’t mind if such chat is added but only for the cities.I love Hoelbrak but it’s so empty there.Connecting the cities would be great
Sigh.
Since everyone’s just going on and on about wiping, resetting, back to 0, you lose all your items, you’ll still have your AP, why don’t we just all ask for a level 80 tome from the gem store? That’s basically it anyways.
I won’t mind at all Blizzard are adding such boost in WoW.
In GW2 we already have boost to lvl20 and also books from PvP.So nothing new will come.

facepalm
double facepalm
I’m going to keep this short as I have said it many times before: There are no issues with race changing. No issues with the personal story, no issues with cultural gear, no issues whatsoever.
Race change would only be allowed to characters with the following restrictions:
- They are 80.
- They have completed the personal story. Simplest solution to the story info screen is that race changing removes the race specific arcs.
- Any race specific gear is stripped from your character and account bound/soulbound on use (still race specific). You made a choice to race change, you take the loss. There you go. Race change. Anet are just being lazy and people in this thread are unimaginative. Issues with the story, lol… How many that want to race change have even visited the story page in the last year?
Every MMO until GW2 has race change as an option.GW2 is the only MMO that doesn’t have it.Anet are just slacking. If they wanted they could do it…
A while back someone in this forum made a “Kill All Monsters” guild that was about this very same thing. Nobody joined and the guild died of inactivity.
What happens is a lot of carebears talk a good game about wanting no stacking, anything goes runs but when faced with the reality of a 1 hour AC path 1, they don’t show up. So really think about what you are asking for, and if you are really committed to the concept enough to keep such a guild alive.
Ohhh ‘mon…This made me chuckle…It’s so hilarious, but so on spot
I can’t agree more.

Or he is spewing truth and your fanboism is showing.
From my own experience i can say that i have spent 0 real money on the shop and i have played 3000+ hours. For that time in one subscription based MMO I would have payed atleast 180$ per year plus who knows what i have bought fro their game shop.
From GW2 gem shop i have bought things yes.But only with ingame gold. The things that i bought are fluffs that can be found while playing the game too:
- Unlimited Gatherting tools (100 in the game cost silver)
- Custom arena (200 000 glory)
This is just an example that everything can be found in game.Maybe the only p2w items are the infinite coin and the new mining pick. The first one has already been removed soon the second one too.So not big deal.
(edited by moiraine.2753)
Yea there are quite a ’’few’’ changes
- Fractals of the Mists
- Tequatl Revamped and new World boss add(They need coordination unlike the rest of the World bosses. You can’t just zerg them).I finally started raiding again.I found a raiding guild and now every day i raid with it.Before this update i was really missing the raiding aspect.
- New WvW map is added you should throw it a look.
Cash shop is end game. Everything else is so frustrating or unrewarding that it’s simpler to buy what you want.
Don’t listen to him.The gem shop has only fluffy stuff in it.
(edited by moiraine.2753)
So basically the OP is complaining that he didn’t received enough of the LS as he plays only PvE?
Well not everything is for PvE you know.So deal with it and stop whining…
TxS killed the Worm again
Now we have killed it twice just like Desolation
Tspatula@ GW2 is lacking in PvE right now.Especially in the raiding aspect with huge groups.Tequatl and Worm are bosses which draw the raiding population. Those bosses are not exactly for casuals. They are made for people who liked to raid in other games and now can do it in GW2 also.
Now about the loot…Problem is not that the boss is hard but its loot table. It needs enormous buff. The time and effort you invest for the kill is not equal to the reward you are receiving.
(edited by moiraine.2753)
The OP should ask himself the following question before making such statements – Is every content made for casuals?
Right now the worm is not hard if you have a dedicated server and guild focussed on raiding it.Desolation,Blackgate(servers) or TTS,TxS(Alliances) which are focused specifically on the PVE content with raid difficulty. The worm was killed by them at least once some have killed it even twice.
The real problem is the loot. The time and effort that you put in the fight is NOT equal to the reward. The loot is really bad.Rewards from the chests have to be buffed.Right now the loot table is worse from Tequatl’s.
(edited by moiraine.2753)
It’s easy to create overflow. The guild i’m in does the Worm only in overflows..The problem is that its cap is to low.My guild often has 200+ people online and the Overflow can only support 150 people. Its cap is just not enough.
And here comes the second kill of the worm for TxS.Now we are on par with Desolation
The loot is really terrible. It’s not equal to the time and effort you put in.It’s hard boss with really bad/worthless loot table…Anet really have to buff World bosse’s chests.
(edited by moiraine.2753)
- Desolation killed it twice
- Blackgate once
- TxS once
- i don’t know about TSS
I find it funny when people point out arbitrary achievements just for the sake of it.
First OF? First to beat it with 20 sec? What is this?
Next up we’ll have “first wurm kill with only 5 guardians” or “first wurm kill at 5 am”
That is called Feat of Strenght
Now it’s your turn to achieve it
(edited by moiraine.2753)
I don’t know what’s with that fear of being bullied in the forums i mean, whe have wonderful moderators, we are in the official forums… if somebody is behaving like an kitten the rest of players know what to do, and if it isn’t fixed that way a moderator makes an intervention aand everyone’s happy xD
And people afraid of been treated like a newbie… well once again i think that’s an exageration, I’ve been ALWAYS kinda NOOB in every game, even in wow and nobody’s been laughting at me at forums, this isn’t LOL.
It’s comprehensible people behaving condescending with new players, or showing off, but that’s just….. society xD
More likely people just don’t want to show what and how they are playing with, because when anyone can be inspected(stats, gear, build, achievements etc.) this brings some elitist behaviour…Yea right as we don’t have it already.
I would love to have Armory like in WoW.Right now the anonymity is player’s best friend.Everyone is a hidden pumpkin.
Characters AP is easily seen both in game and on leader boards.Right now gear, stats and build are hidden who knows why. What are people so afraid? It’s obvious that some newbie with low pvp rating or low AP(PvE) or low rank in WvW won’t be taken seriously.

I think Wurm is more geared towards the unique skins, shown here:
http://i.imgur.com/27H8ypc.gif
http://i.imgur.com/d4zlCo3.gif
http://i.imgur.com/gaJFMLF.gifThere’s also a few weapon skins I can’t find atm.
I’m O.K. with this trade off. Teq may be better to farm for profit, but Wurm gives you the prestige items. Therefore giving both world bosses a unique purpose and keeping both active.
:)
2 kills 300 people total.. 2 armor chests you mentioned and 2 minis… would you like to do a probability assessment of how one is going to collect all 3 of these prestige items?
Yes we didn’t do it for the rewards but at the end of the day there should be a token system for these bosses period. All the effort that went into the kills and we don’t even have a souvenir to show for it.
The kills are 4 now so the people have doubled too
But i agree that the loots sucks
Congratz morons
It was really interesting week
I think the new Wurm fight proves and indeed begs that Anet can and should develop instanced raids for GW2. For big servers like Blackgate, Bloodtide coast has essentially stopped existing as an open world PvE map, and become a massive 150-man instanced raid, albeit with primitive organizational tools.
Think about that for a moment. Bloodtide Coast has become a raid with a 2 hour lockout, as opposed to other MMOs having 1 week lockouts, etc. Take that concept and refine it in your mind. Make it more manageable by the community; basically make the cap smaller (maybe 50 people?) and set it up so that it uses a large party system (evolve the commander/squad system?) instead of the current system of people “ferrying” others into the hardcapped map.
Take what Bloodtide Coast has become, refine it, put it in an instance like a dungeon which can accommodate multiple groups in different instances that are under your control rather than the hardcap limit of the open world map, etc. Anet could do this, the pieces are all there. I think it would please a lot of people, both the raiders and the non-raiders, because it would mean alleviating the congestion of open world maps while simultaneously giving raiders more control over organization.
Devs? Players? Thoughts?
This is not World of Warcraft, mmkay? This is Guild Wars 2.
That’s why the Open World bosses fail miserably.WoW proved that instance/raid concept is working perfectly and the harder content should be put there. So why Anet is trying to reinvent the wheel?!?!
When i read the replies from WilliamDaBloody.2591 and JoxerNL.3752, I’m getting a little upset already.
You two guys give me the impression like many others. Let the others do the work.
And to disguise your own incapability of putting in a little effort you call others elitist.Have been many hours in Que to fight the Worm in at least a little organized group of people. And also there I found afk’s , most without any buff-food/oil/crystals and if they did have buffs it was Magic find and more Gold for kills !!!
Please give me the opportunity to raid with People who actually care and putt in some effort. I’m tired of all the parasites who just want to play as they want with no option to help their Team, or in other words just wait for others to do their job.
I gladly take the opportunity to play with the so called “elitist” only if i had a chance and let the wanabes not even get close to get an achievement.PS. Being a noob is no problem, but acting smug against people who try hard is.
Greezzz
Exactly this. When i do a boss which is as a raid difficulty i want to have full control over my group.I don’t mind to take new people in the guild run.But slackers or people who play how they want are not welcomed.
Here is what i don’t want to have in the group:
- Afking people.
- Missing food buffs or bringing the wrong ones like MF/GF
- Not bringing items to increase dps
Here is what i want:
- Cookie cutter build
- Specific gear
- Doing exactly what leaders say
(edited by moiraine.2753)
Congratulations on the kill Desolation.
You won the race to the world 1st and that’s some feat to be acknowledge for with such hard boss as the worm
And it wouldn’t if they made them instanced you mean?
If it were instanced, people like me (Sylvari under the employment of Scarlet Briar ; ) would ignore the event rather than sabotaging it. I’ve spent the past 5 days destroying golems and using up repair hammers so that the group would fail the event. I have been successful in every single attempt to foil the raid.
But it’s not instanced. So I can go there and do whatever I please to the detriment of all those who may be participating. If it were instanced, the party leaders would have far greater control over who is allowed into the event. Their chances at success would be greatly improved.
This event was never meant for people like you…It is made for the hard core of the GW2 player base and those who want to make a long term commitment.
Elbegast @, You are right that with the raids comes full control over the group and this means that slackers like you won’t be taken in the group. You either pull your weight or you don’t.If you don’t you will be kicked and replaced with someone better.
In one other MMO which people don’t like to hear about on these forums there are 4 difficulties of the raids:
1.Looking for Raid – especially made for casuals
2.Flex – scaling difficulty made for pug groups
3.Normal – for organized groups
4.Heroic – for the hard core of the population
In GW2 we havge only 2 difficulties – the pug/casual one.Other than that the hard core player base is in the speed clear groups
(edited by moiraine.2753)
I don’t mind raiding at all.The problem that i see right now with the encounters is that both Tequatl and the Worm have hard caps on the overflows. This means when my alliance is raiding them. Not everyone can get in the instance. Why?Because it has been filled with random joining people who are not part of our alliance.
For instance yesterday we had 200 people on TS.It reached its limit. And still more people were logging in the game and in the guilds. We had to split our raid in 2.Some went to the worm some went to Tequatl. And still the overflow where we were raiding the Worm was filled on max
What i hate is when random pugs join our overflow. Those people take necessary spots of the guildies. We mostly raid in overflows. So we won’t the most controlled environment.Raid leaders say what to do and people do it.
No thanks.I don’t want such thing to be implimented in the game.GvsG is a pvp activity as such it’s place is either in WvW bordeland or in the sPvP.
What i like in GW2 is that there aren’t any PvP servers and there isn’t any Open World PvP.
Right now there are 3 game modes which don’t interact with each other: PvE/PvP/WvW i want them to stay this way.If i want to do some Guild PvP activity then it should never be put in the PvE enviroment.
Gosh again this.Stop making new threads when there already exist a post on exactly the same topic.Read the forum and post in the appropriate thread.
The hard cores left and the casuals cant handle a real raid boss, easy as that. Plus the reward is not even close to worth the effort.
You are so right
Yes there is a fix to the Overflow and Main server problem. It’s quite simple actually.
Tequatl and all other revamped or new bosses which will come in the future should be made like the scarlet invasions.Once the event starts for interval of 10minutes it spreads through all overflows. So even if someone couldn’t get into his main server on time, they still will have a chance get into overflow with an active World Boss in it.
- One thing is certain.Anet just doesn’t want to make…cough, cough…wait for it…instanced bosses. It doesn’t matter that the Tequatl fight coppies exactly step by step how a raid boss works. He is difficult enough with good mechanics. He has enrage timer.
- What Anet forgot is that he is like a raid encounter so it’s needed a lot of coordination. It’s hard enough to get 80 people but on top of that they must have enough dmg to down him.
The whole fight favours the Zerkers.
In my opinion the entire PvE favours glass canons but that is another story.

The problem is that Anet just refuses to acknowledge that something is broken…

Dueling is a PvP activity so it’s place is only in the Mists and no where else.
I don’t mind GW2 having a subscription model.Also I won’t mind those VIP benefits for two reason:
1.They all are mostly fluffs with the only exception being that Ressurection buff.
2.If there is a person who on a regular bases buys gems from the shop then a subscription model will fit him more. Will he pay for gems or a subscription which gives him the same benefits won’t matter. All of these things essentially are already available via the gem store in the form of account services and consumables, and are simple conveniences.
Anet:‘Hey, we notice you buy gems a lot. Would you like to make this a regular thing? If so, you get extra boosters and minor conveniences.’
This is in no way going to be forced on anyone. As long as new content is still free, I’m OK with people being able to buy a monthly sub for fluff. Lots of F2P games have a monthly sub that gives you extra bullkitten.
I repeat Rez buff is the only power item, the rest is fluff.1 And the waypoint to a friend.
2 For that person it would indeed not matter. Problem is that the fact that people buy gems always effects the game in a negative way.
Nah i don’t see how can a wp to friend affect by anyway the current game.We already have instantaneous teleporting anyway so i don’t see the big issue about port to a friend.

Dreamy abbadon’s reply on the official post thread is solely in the intention of leading new players in the way Arena.net wants them to, exploration, because guild wars 2 is built around it. I honestly thank him for taking his time making it too.
Theres wasn’t any, like you said; ‘’A**hole type mood’’ in the way he wrote it, you just took it for granted, and it just makes you look like the person in wrong, don’t go super defensive for no reason, I don’t want to tell you what to do but you get the point.
Let me aim you at the very first line. "If you are New to the game, Please Do NOT follow this guide or the (Train). " That right there, led the rest of his post to sound like an kitten rant, all he’s doing is being “that guy” and leading people away from my post and making it seem like that this is all there is to the game. Had he reworded it in such a way where it didn’t sound like an kitten rant, I would of gladly agreed with him and left it at that. It’s all about the inflection. Now I’m done about this topic.
Tweeky, from how you are reacting to all of this is giving me cancer. Now what I just said was rude. In the way abaddon responds to you, he is not being rude whatsoever. There is a difference between being rude and being informative. If anything, you are the one attacking abaddon.
If Abbadon is being…cough,cough..informative like this of course Tweeky will get upset. If Abbadon is writing such a post with that attitude better to make his own thread rather than posting like he did in this one.
I support on 100% Tweeky
The guide is great i never did the train before.
Yes i have 5 80’s.
Yes i have fully geared ascended toon with legendary but i never knew how the train in queensdale works. So for me this a the perfect guide.
