Tomorrow's PoI: What do you want to know about Pact Commander masteries?

What is auto-loot?
Why is a QOL feature behind an artificial ‘grind’? (this kinda depends on what auto-loot actual entails but it seems pretty straightforward to me)
It makes sense for auto loot to be locked behind a grind wall, or bots could easily be scripted to farm mats such as T6 endlessly. By putting such a feature behind masteries, you restrict the feature to players who are most likely to be genuine accounts, not botters.

I’d love to know if the commander mastery line could possibly have an impact on the story, whether by opening up new options in adventures/story instances or by certain storys/adventures being restricted to various “ranks” of the pact commander line
It’s good to know our concerns are being noted, but it would be nice to see more evidence of it every now and then. It takes all of 10 seconds to reply to a topic containing valid feedback just to show you’ve seen it. that red reply means a lot to people when it comes to knowing our voices are being heard and listened to, rather than falling on deaf or uncaring ears.
I’m personally just utterly baffled why we don’t have context menus for use multiple or buy options for multiples, given how many stacks of consumables you can get (especially luck). They really should have been in the game at launch, like every single other MMO
It would be interesting to make them tradable. I know many people who “sell” their gifts of exploration to friends, get the friend to send the required mats and make legendaries for them (this, of course,. requires a high level of trust between the traders and carries a very high risk).
Would be interesting to see the effects of tradable gifts of exploration.
If you feel it needs MORE of a reward, that’s your opinion.
Yes, it is. It’s weird how forums work by people sharing their opinions.
I don’t care either way if yet another incentive to play is added, but in my opinion it would be a good addition for GW2. If you disagree, that’s fine, that’s also your opinion, your word is not law, your opinion is not fact, please stop speaking like it is, it’s incredibly tiresome.
I think they should reward us with tokens for forum posts. lol
Seriously though, do we really need more rewards for being "loyal"players. I thought the fun was in playing the game. I think the reward is having accumulated things for a long period of time that most players can’t get.
I’m sitting on six legendary weapons. I have a precursor for my seventh. I have many items that are hard, or even impossible to get now. I got a celebration hat from launch days. I got my heroes band for prepurchase. I have every single color of the back piece you make with spinal blades. Try doing that now.
I don’t need to be rewarded to play a game. Anet made a product and I bought the product and I’ve enjoyed the product for thousands of hours. If I bought a movie and watched it hundreds of times, should someone come to my house and give me a prize? Isn’t enjoying the movie enough to watch it that much in and of itself a prize.
Being rewarded for playing a game you enjoy shouldn’t require a reward. However, I’m not dead set against it and don’t think it would ruin anything if it were offered. I just see it as unnecessary.
You use strawman arguments a heck of a lot, you know. a single purchase offline physical item =/= a continuous online service
GW2 is not just a single use product, it is an online service with a cash shop, thus incentives fit very well within the model. GW2 needs persistent players to stay afloat, whereas once you buy a film, they don’t care about you any more, they have your money, their goal is complete.
If anything, I’d love a cash purchase reward system, unlocking exclusive perks and convenience/fashion for purchasing (with cash, not gold) gems, gaining new rewards at different tiers of gem purchase, which can be redeemed on any character on the account unlimited times.
Many games offer cash shop incentives like this, and I’d love to see one in GW2.
Like the loyalty system in GW2 China?
No, more like Rift’s loyalty system, in which you gain tiers every time you buy or use the cash shop currency, each tier unlocking a new spender perk, item or the like.

If you do the free upgrade, you can use the option to upgrade and keep everything. I upgraded from 7 to 10 and have had no data loss at all.
There’s literally no difference between a purchase and an upgrade, all you’re doing by purchasing instead of upgrading is screwing yourself out of money, but I doubt using a boot disc would allow you to simply upgrade the OS without overwriting.
It might, but I can’t find any info on it, because no one’s buying 10 because it’s free.
If you haven’t had a reservation update come through yet, simply upgrade to 10 using the media creation tool from windows here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
That’s what I did (didn’t want to wait for my reservation download, call me impatient) and it works perfectly.
There’s no reason to buy unless you’re using an illegal copy of windows.

I love GW2’s graphics. They’ve struck a great balance between looking fantastic and still being forgiving to those people with lower spec systems.
Why should they make it more convenient for people that buy gems with gold, especially for a luxury upgrade? The gem store is designed primarily to cater to people that purchase gems with cash. Consider yourself lucky ANet allow any sort of currency conversion at all.
Extra bag slots are not a necessity, they are a convenience luxury. Most people I know play perfectly fine without any bag slot upgrades, simply using 18 slot bags

You will get 4 beta character slots for the beta weekend, and beta characters can be used in all existing content (PvP, WvW, base game PvE) as well as the Verdant Brink demo quarter.
I imagine this is an issue with your system. I play with everything maxed at world bosses and I never have out of memory errors. GW2 rarely even reaches 3 GB RAM usage of the 16 I can utilise
I’ve had this thought floating around in my head for a while, but what if the fabric physics on the wings are a way to experiment with flowing costume objects (We’ve also got some more free-flowing fabric on the monk outfit, too) and a pathway to bringing back capes/cloaks, or even guild capes?
Elite specs are HoT exclusive, what we have right now is the specialisation system, HoT purchasers will be able to unlock an elite specialisation line for the professions, people that do not ownj the expansion will not get access to the elites.
It’s not been clarified yet whether everyone can access guild halls
Masteries are also set to be HoT exclusive, I believe, which in turn makes precursor crafting HoT exclusive.
The only things we know for certain everyone will get access to are the WvW and PvP maps, and the system changes that have been implemented thus far. I suspect fractals, too.
What overhaul does it need? Everything is organized and neat.
Search function doesn’t work, lacks basic features found in even freely hosted boards like avatars, user groups and so on, the forum exposes your account name rather than lets you utilise a forum pseudonym, no easy way to read the first ANet post in a thread without going via the dev tracker, poor attachment implementation. I could go on and on.
About the only good thing about the current forum is the design looks pretty sleek, but the actual functionality is abysmal when you take in to account the fact that free hosted forums have many times more features and functions than a professional B2P game forum that requires game purchase to even participate in.I mean heck, GW2Guru has an infinitely better forum in terms of ease of use and functionality and it’s a fansite.
So I’m sure many have noticed the various changes to the website, from the new log in and account interface to the quaggerific 404 page, but is there more to come?
I strongly hope Anet will use this opportunity to give the forums the overhaul they have needed since forever.
I’m pretty certain a completely new type of ranger pet was seen on it’s own with an ANet guild marker not too long ago. there was a reddit thread about it. It was a big fluffy sort of dog thing, definitely not an existing ranger pet and far, far too large to be a minipet
It’s a staple feature in almost every MMO, and I’m surprised they are not an aspect of GW2, especially with the wide range of uses they could have such as announcing the arrival of world bosses, or ongoing events and so on.
Here’s another person asking for money – and I’ve seen this phrase used twice or three times now. I reported the first guy and blocked them, but they clearly keep doing it and are getting away with it, being as this is the exact same phrase said blocked person used, so I’ve given up reporting them.
But just to let others know, there’s also people going around asking for 94 silver for an exotic item. Screeny attached. So if it isn’t the guy hinting for 7g for their legendary, it’s 94s for their exotic.
kitten , if it’s the same person, they’ve been doing that for months. I sent them 1g several months ago. Exact same wording
Server transfers should be a cash service only. Too often people, and entire guilds, completely negate the entire point of participating in wvw and just transfer out to a higher ranked server.
They couldn’t have their pet class outshone by a mere Necromancer, of course.
yes you can, because it changes from displaying Guild Wars 2 to displaying Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

“Link Accounts” is purely for linking your GW2 account with your GW1 account and utilising identical log in info, it has absolutely nothing to do with the expansion

More of you should care more tbh, so a few decent lads could win big money that could change their lives
I see little reason to care about PvP tournaments in a game where the pvp balance doesn’t ever really change.
One common theme about almost every highly successful ESports game is that the balance is always changing, whether that be from balance patches changing skill values every week to new playable champions being introduced in to the game, or entirely new map modes being regularly added, the huge variety of composition and gameplay options is one of the most compelling aspects of most successful competitive esports.
Until ArenaNet can have that variety and flux in how PvP is played, I see no reason to bother watching pvp tournaments, because I won’t see anything in a tournament I don’t see everyone do daily anyway. The only difference at a tournament will be better coordination and less lag
They never did state that they were working on it for 18 months though. All they said was that they had laid the foundations for the expansion to happen with the direction of the living story.
Given the slow progress, I strongly expect they only started development of HoT around the end of last year
1,300g until twilight! Help a guy out!
>.>
Of the base game? Seiran by far. Very quirky and fun personality and I genuinely miss her.
Of the entire game including the living story? Taimi, she’s so bad kitten and witty despite her physical disadvantages.

I’d love player housing. When I first was informed about the home district i was intrigued, but was incredibly underwhelmed with what it turned out to be. When I played Rift, one of the biggest focuses of my rift play time was customising my player “dimension”, and the same was the case with my Aion playtime when that was my main game of choice.
I also truly loved the lairs/hideouts/etc of City of Heroes, and could spend an age customising them.
If player housing were ever introduced, I’d most definitely spend a heck of a lot of gems on it, and quite willingly too, (assuming it’s done well)
The wings are quite clearly designed to be ornamental, and the fabric nature of the new physics showcases that.
Nothing wrong with the current physics on them, you don’t have wings on your character, you have an ornamental wing backpack
“… that could include you as a player character”
Relevant quote and context is at about 2:30
Should be very interesting, as a sylvari main, I’m intrigued.

Given that we have precident of ANet utilising weapons differently on different classes (Necro Axe, Mesmer Greatsword, Ranger Axe, etc), why is there so much hate for Wh when we don’t even have a clue what it will do yet, and Anet said any class that just gets an offhand will also be getting new mechanics added.

Seems a little pointless and counter-intuitive to the nature of a wiki you can add to yourself. Can the article discussion pages not fulfil a feedback role?
Except elementalist attunements mean that ele has all bases covered by swapping attunements. no other class can do so much with a single weapon (or even with weapon swap) as ele can with attunement swap.
Revenant actually needed weapon swap to even be worth playing due to how locked to each legend the weapons are.
I joined near the 2nd year anniversary, nothing was done then to mark the occasion, I don’t see why they would this year, either.
I highly doubt it will ever see console release, because the game was not developed with console compatibility in mind so the development workload for console compatibility would be immense – likely involving a complete recode of the entire game.
I don’t think it would be cost effective
I’m both impressed with the changes and happy to see some transparency from you guys for once. Please give us more posts like this in the future, it really helps let the community know we are being listened to.
So what I don’t understand is why are the French staff willing and able to change a spec name when you guys won’t change Dragonhunter despite the huge amount of negative feedback regarding the name?
I do feel like they’re trying too hard to make a unique GW1 throwback class and have sacrificed good functionality and actual usefulness for that, which kind of sucks.
Hopefully the devs will respond to our feedback and we’ll see a much improved Revenant in future beta weekends, because without drastic changes, I have no intention of ever actively using a Revenant except to get one to 80 just because.
Both amusing and true, critique masked as comedy, I like it!
Hi there! Proper Might Stacking rotations for D/F elementalist should be:
Fire#3, Fire#2, Fire#4, Water#3, Water#2 (if needed), earth dodgeroll (if needed), earth #3, earth#2, earth#3 again (to cancel the aftercast of earth#2), air, repeat!
Be sure to be able to do all of this without the firefield expiring. Also, Earth#4 should be used more for condi cleanse or reflection than might stacking.
Scepter/ Dagger Might stacking combo:
Switch to fire > Dragon Tooth > Ring of fire > Phoenix > Switch to earth > Dodge roll inside the ROF > Use Arcane blast simultaneously (for extra might) > earthquake > The Churning earth (churning earth will give might when it finishes) > Switch to fire
Please note that with sigil of battle, you should be easily at 20+might stacks with the above mentioned combo. You could also use Arcane brilliance for extra mights but I repeat be sure to be able to do all of this without the firefield expiring.
Hope it helps. Feel free to ask more
Very helpful, thank you. Is there a particular trick to getting dragon’s tooth to cast close to you? I was told to look at the ground while casting it but that doesn’t seem to accomplish anything
Hey guys, I’m trying to get to grips with ele and I’m trying to get the might stack rotation down (doesn’t matter what weapon set, I have them all) and I’d really appreciate a step by step guide of what skills/attunements to use, if it’s not a huge hassle.
Thanks in advance.
Raw berserker is in every way better dps than any available condi specs at this current moment. condi is usually better sustained damage, but due to how readily available condi cleanse is on most classes, it’s not a reliable way to sustain damage on anyone, condi also takes a long time to stack to a decent level, and that alone makes it sub-par to straight dps.
Sorry OP, but you’re plain and simply wrong.
Datamined info can’t be reliably given a time window for release. For example Balthazar’s Regalia got datamined almost two months before it was released for purchase.
We need more of Joshua and Peter, that was such a fun PoI to watch.
o.O
LS2 is not difficult at all, just slightly more engaging than story missions.
I miss the days when games intentionally set out to be challenging and difficult to complete.
Nope, but judging by the state of Revenant and the lack of any more HoT info, I’m leaning more towards the end of the year/early next year than autumn/fall.
I don’t play games to be optimal, I play games to have fun, and Necro is the most fun class to play for me, simple as that.
Just because it wasn’t their intention doesn’t mean that it’s not the reality currently.
Right now, PvE only requires dps, there’s 0 need or want for healing or tanking
feedback and criticism =/= hate. There’s a myriad of flaws with the class in it’s current form, and ANet can’t do anything to remedy that without feedback and critique.
Nothing gets better by being agreeable and submissive. This weekend is entirely for the purpose of collecting that feedback and criticism
