However, that would mean you can use your clones as shields. Because if classes can’t cleave, that would mean the nearest enemy hit should be the only thing hit. Or should the hit give priority to the enemy targeted?
And then… that would mean autoattacks shouldn’t damage an enemy while in stealth? I hope not, for I feel a player should be rewarded for guessing right when he can’t see the enemy.

The fury buff is there to partner the might on crit trait for the greatsword. It is there to give 100% fury uptime rather than 50-75%. I doubt fury will be replaced with anything else and I doubt it will get a straight upgrade (given how greatsword warriors can mash PVE with no skill whatsoever).
Experience brings me to think (even if I don’t have evidence with me) that GS doesn’t benefit much from power. I say this because once I tried a might-stacking build with GS, and damage was pretty underwhelming, even with 20 stacks.
I don’t know, maybe it was just my imagination.

There’s a particular version of this setup that is quite OP, but I don’t see it used at all in the top 1k in team/soloQ so we’ll have to wait and see if it catches on after hammer gets nerfed a bit.

Well, maybe it’s just one of those builds that are pretty strong in 1v1, but less performing in tournament.
Example: condi wars are single target, when warriors have usually been picked for cleaving.
And IMHO condi gameplay with warriors is ugly. And pretty boring. I have much more fun with a GS.

Well, maybe in a MOBA style map:
teams get one base each. The goal is to destroy the enemy base. Each team has a “cannon” that puts particular objects in the area. These objects spawn enemies, that head to the enemy base.
Then you can make different limitations, add towers and so on.

Now that I tried it, axe in spvp kinda sucks, IMHO. I feel it’s better to invest traits into GS and then grab another weapon (LongBro <3 ).
That’s because it’s very crit-dependant. And even 60% crit chance seems like it isn’t enough. And 100 blades does more damage, so I feel like it’s better to add a weapon that helps you land it more often.

team queue in solo is awesome…since i’m playing for the lulz until ladder reset + 10 dec patch (So not going to play tpvp at all between 26 and 10 dec patch, until all this noob spam to win meta is fixed) i’m just going pug in team queue…having more fun than soloq..

I mean… glass cannon warriors were a living nightmare, right?
However, I think they did it with the buffs to survivability in mind.
And IMHO those traits are actually an interesting strategical component: you either have to choos whether to use your burst, cleanse condis and lose the bonus or keep the bonus.
You know, that kind of reasoned gameplay people complain it’s lacking. Players should be encouraged to take those traits.

I don’t know, maybe when I played engi bunker I did something wrong, but in every tournament I had to be extremely careful not to get wiped out by people.
This because I couldn’t afford Elixir C in my build, and because there was always a thief jumping on me.
IMHO engi bunker (unless you are talking about condi bunker, but that’s a different story) made just to hold a point is extremely punishing to play: every immobilize might mean certain death, you have to actively avoid knockbacks AND you are weak to spike damage. (talking about builds like this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQJAqel0picX3y5F17IxIFdW0hUYfDL6R+1vjB-ToAgzCmIuRdj7GzNybs3M+Y2A).
As you can see, I can’t afford an elixir C, because I have to fight multiple enemies, and power is as dangerous as condi. If I want to sit at 25% health, I have to be EXTREMELY careful, and prepare to get downed by a single heartseeker.
IMHO you can even nerf Automated Response, as long as engies are given decent passive regen.

You can land arcing shot if you land the root first, however. A long duration root paired with 5 stacks of bleed.
Yeah, but arcing arrow is more of a fire and switch: all in all, longbow is a weapon you’ll be using while APPROACHING the enemy.
The only thing that might make you want to stay at range is autoattack, but it’s pretty weak.
IMHO Warrior’s longbow is designed around the idea of supporting melee fighting. #4 can be used to cover you while you try to get in range, #5 to stop the enemy for further melee comboing, #3 after #5 or on the point, same for burst. If you use the immob on short range, you can use #2, which will deal pretty good damage.

Warriors are still going to be as stupid as ever. All their weaponskills do craptons of damage on top of having rather low cooldowns relative to other classes, and now that is paired with stance immunities and healing signet sustain.
If you think a 20% damage nerf to two hammer skills is going to do anything when their hammer auto will still hit like a truck, you don’t know what puts warriors over the top.
My 2k toughness toons still get crit for 4k by incredibly tanky (read: 1v1 immortal) warriors.
The fact is no other class besides the necro can be as tanky and deal that much damage, except the necro can be tunneled to the ground and chain cc’d while doing the same to a warrior is not nearly as viable.
Warrior sustain is broken, and either it or their damage needs to come down. I’d prefer it’d be the damage so they don’t lose the possibility of having bunker options.
It depends on what hit you for 4k. Hard hitting skills always exist. Even on power engi I can build very tanky and hit hard with one skill. But it’s often one skill that’s hard to land or has a long cooldown.
e.g.: A tanky warrior is supposed to deal 4k damage and even more with hundred blades. That’s because hundred blades is hard to land on an enemy, unless you use specific utilities. And even there, the damage is dealt over 3.5 seconds. It’s not the same thing as a skill that deals 4k damage istantly.

The GS/LB war is my spec, and I’ve been using it before it’s even recognized. S/D thief is not a problem on this spec even now.
GS/LB has been recognized for a long, LONG time. Since April, and even before. It just got outshined for a while by crazy cc, but it has always been there.
Nothing will change. CC spam+good aoe damage will still be silly when paired with adrenal health and healing signet.
If you want more cleave just go LB+GS.
It’s kinda sad how much better warrior bow is compared to ranger bows.
Warrior’s Longbow is a point-blank weapon (Arcing Arrow consistently lands only if you throw it at your feet, because of its slow fly speed. Burning arrows is a shotgun attack. The nearer you are, the more you benefit from Pin Down’s immobilize.). You probably wouldn’t like it for a ranged build. That said, I also think they should probably rework ranger’s longbow into something more interesting.

Warriors always had one of the highest build varieties in the game, IMHO. They just became stronger with buffs. Problem is how some of them are overperforming.

I think I can cut engies to pieces as a warrior, without other cc than bolas and Pin Down. Immobilize is the engi’s nightmare.
Honestly I never met an engi able to whitstand that long.

Wait… isn’t that what also bunker guardian is supposed to do? IMHO engi is not tougher than a guardian. He has more hps, but less blocks. And bomb builds are not the bunkiest.
It isn’t said he can’t be killed by 2 people: 2 people will easily kill him. The problem is the time they need to do that. The same can be said for all bunkers: you need either one person that for one reason or the other can kill one type of bunker fast (conditioners against guardians, spiky classes against engis) or you need a roamer who can do that with the help of someone else.

I play without Cleansing Ire and berserker’s stance and is still pretty doable. You have to be a bit more careful against necros, but you actually have the chance to slot bolas and use 100b extensively.
In tourneys is deadly.
I know, very few warriors play GS, probably because they tried it in “fair” duels, against enemies who have all the room they need to nullify your melee and get out of your cleave (one thing I learned: trying to duel a mesmer with a GS on an open field is suicide), and felt it was useless alone. In fact, GS is a strong stand-alone weapon, but only in tourneys: if you can force the enemy into fighting on your terms, you can watch the limbs fly!

This build is a sniper build. You hide in a corner shooting it.

I smell two builds:
GS/LB like Tarcis plays (But it’s natrually what DPS wars kinda shift to in my experience, gives you teamfight control too)
Condi s+s/lb because you can be obsurdly tanky (regen+settlers) and do a lot of damage (pin down, impale) at the same time.
And I’m not sure but Hambow will probably still be looking strong.
LB/GS has been, and probably will always be one of the most complete, flexible and elegant setups.
But to make damage shine, especially on GS, you have to trait pretty heavily for it (IMHO 30 points in strangth and staying in full adrenaline as much as possible works well).

Give some kind of extra bonus for playing soloq/teamq during certain parts of the day?
This can be used to encourage players during off hours to join and reduce queue times. It can also be used to consolidate prime time players down to a more narrow window of play time so matchmaking is more even.
If enough people play, maybe introduce back the 8-team 3 round tPVP matches during certain happy hours.
You didn’t take into account timezones. You should do so many happy hours the whole purpose of them would be destroyed.

Well to be honest, maybe rank 1 is a little low for tournaments. But if someone already has multiple characters at various levels and is an experienced PvPer then there’s no reason for him to be holding back his team.
Sure, you should be confident enough with your class to win fights but as long as you have spent significant time on that class that should be the case.
Personally I’d be ok with anyone in Solo Q who has accumulated 20 ranks across all his characters and has logged a significant numbers of hours on each character.
So no creating an Engineer and jumping straight into SoloQ. But no arbitrary barrier of entry.

Warrior isn’t weak by any means, but they do have some major disadvantages against really good thieves and mesmers. Bad thieves and mesmers are easy kills. Good ones are nearly impossible to kill. This is speaking in a 1v1 context of course.
So what? Do you want warriors to have NO disadvantages? Do you want your class to be undoubtely the best of the best?
That’s not fair and you warriors complaining about perma stealth should cry less.What you warriors have that other classes do not:
You have better defensive, you have mobilty, you have armor, you have health and you have a moderate amount of damage even high damage comparable to a burst thief if you so wish to build that – and you will still have more armor and health than a thief.You warriors have no kittening right to complain and whine about other classes.

Warriors USED to be the weakest class before June.
And, worst of all, they had such a bad fame nobody wanted them in teams, eve if there actually were some builds able to compete with other classes and ways to build armored roamers even before sustain buffs.
Old sword was a pretty deadly weapon, IMHO.
Nevertheless, prejudice against warrior stopped experimentation on the class. So warrior looked weaker than they actually were. So they were buffed. Now prejudice is gone, and even if they are toned down people will still recognize warriors can do something.

So pvpers are better at standing on points but wvw players (the good ones) are better at combat.
sPvPers are better at capturing circles and small fights. WvWvWers do small fights, big fights, and controlling a bigger map, not just a circle.
That’s the fact that sPvPers dont want to admit. They just counter your argument “But it’s zergy.” but i give it to them. when its zergy, your personal skill doesn’t shine that much (personal skill may mean dat guy who is twitchier). But with mechanics built in in the game such as combofields and mass skills, that means that the game is built for a team play of more than 5 people.
Yeah, I’ve seen a lot of Legends and Generals skillfully beat me in WvWvW…
by running away to find other people to help them. While they were outgearing me in the first place (I still can’t afford food or exotic gear).

I started to prefer going into Team Queue.
There are many people joining solo, so you don’t have to wait much, and you will often be put against other pugs.
Pros:
You play with more experienced people who will always try to win the game (no teams that fight all together in the middle of Skyhammer while all points are controlled by the enemy)
You play AGAINST more experienced people, so fights are actually challenging. I actually feel to get worse every time I roflstomp a heartseeker spamming thieves or new warriors who still have no clue about the class. I feel like that was unfair, and I get depressed.
NO skyhammer! YAY!
(and it’s not like players who don’t like don’t like to adapt: other new maps like Temple of the Silent Storm and Spirit Watch are actually fun. Problem with Skyhammer is that either you get a beating because you didn’t build for it or build for it and win cheapily. Even if I adapt, I can’t have fun from that map)

So my Guardian is training to be a Sunbro and I was looking for some advice on the setup. I don’t have too much access to Throwing Spears at the moment so I poke things with my Sunlight Staff, and I’m using Sorcery spells with a Scepter Catalyst. I’m also using a few Pyromancer spells like fireball and surge and carrying a Torch with me.
From what I’ve seen it seems 20/20/10/0/0 has been main build for Scepter? I was considering getting Zerker stuff for the high Faith and Crit Damage although I have an ascended Knight box from wvwvw and considering using ascended Knight Scepter and using that set or mixing them somehow~ Also going to be using Traveler runes so my armor stops weighing me down so much, as I don’t have Havel’s ring. I haven’t been able to locate him in-game.
This is mainly for smiting evil for other players in WvWvWvW and earning some Sunlight Medals. Whats the best way to go about a S/T & Staff build nowadays? :O

Well, if the enemy has to tab target you to get you again (example: messy situation, new/tired/not so focused opponent), you are making him lose time. And other than that, you can realize it ofr the healthpoints. Illusions will be at full health. Mesmers won’t.

Engi skills have the highest hps, when valued alone:
Healing turret with combo blast:
cd: 20 seconds
Healing from the skill: 2520*2= 5040 healing
Regen: 8 seconds = 1040 healing
Blasting Waterfield with detonate turret: 1320 healing
HPS = (5040+1040+1320)/20 = 370
But
Toolbelt skill gives 780 more heal every 25 seconds. We have to add this hps separately:
780/25=31,2
Total hps = 401,2.
If you add another blast finisher (e.g. by adding rocket boots, which has the same cooldown), you increase hps even more.
But does that mean engi is OP? not at all. Take into account that in order to have stealth, I have to use a blast that I will not be using for healing (unless I need to both heal AND stealth, which IMHO rarely happens).

Well, longbow can be swapped for something else, however it should still remain a good weapon for setting up some random 100b and for some ranged pressure against mesmer. (NEVER EVER EVER go exclusively melee against a mesmer, IMHO)
