I am running the WS,BM, Druid Marauder/Traveler Staff/Longbow variant.
It is a pretty kitten good roamer build.
I would use NM over BM. The reason is because of protective ward. Without it, the power ranger can be ganked really fast without you being able to react.
Plus, taunt doesn’t work with Ancient seed.

shortbow has way too many problems, i.e. it just doesn’t do damage. if you need the daze from it to proc AS, then just get your dazes elsewhere. we have more daze than mesmers.

Also, I have been generating Astral force. I’m not sure how. But it is a bit useful in keeping me alive when I have no other utilities. I am just not using Celestial form as my main weapon.

The difference between Power Ranger vs. Power Druid is Ancient Seeds.
Ancient seeds will immobilize any target that has been knocked back, launched, dazed or stunned. This lets Ancient seed be synergetic with Point blank shot and Hilt Bash.

I don’t want to look at the UI. I want to look at the HP bar on my party members.
It is very hard to heal allies if I can’t see what health they have.

Update: If there were players in your squad, while you were leader, logging out for 10 minutes will not solve the issue unless all players also leave that squad. The squad must disband for you to be able to log back in.

So far, this build works very well for me. The biggest problem is landing the Celestial heal on moving allies.
Daze and Tidal Glyphs are awesome. I use it a lot as a panic button or using it to save friends.
Elite Glyph could be changed. I don’t think I actually used it. I would probably use SOTP or entangle over it.

On demand.omg, how is it on demand? you have to dodge roll, which is a big requirement. you need to not be cc’d and have endurance. when youre getting kittened on by a thief or Mesmer out of stealth for 10k+ on 3k armor, how will you react to that?
on-demand means you press a button and it appears on your bar instantly. eles have it, guards have it. thing is, without enough HP buffer, even on-demand prot wouldn’t cut it for us as I explained with the cleric guard example.

Blinding Rage: Whenever you use a burst skill on an enemy that is under the effects of aegis, or whenever you are under the effect of blind. You deal 66% less effect.
- Skullcrack will deal 66% less damage and only 1 second stun, if adrenaline bar is filled. Instead of 0 second stun and 0 damage when blinded.
- Eviscerate, Killshot and Arcing slice does 66% less damage instead of 0 damage when blinded.
- Flurry does 66% less damage in bleeds and immobilizes last 66% shorter.

So, you solo queued stronghold a few times, lost, and made a hate post on the forum. I actually like stronghold a lot and know many other people who do in the high tier scene.
I won many times in stronghold, and I still hate Stronghold. The reason is because of the supply runner role. I was the only one who ran supplies. The times I lost is because I don’t bother running supplies and just kill players.
I don’t want to keep killing mobs and run supply all the time. I want to PvP.

I think Stronghold can be improved.
- Let door guards able to be resurrected when the door is still up. Supplies will instant res both of them at the same time.
- Killing a player drops supplies.
- Killing a player in your base spawn a skritt.
Archers will be able to be useful in keeping the door guards down. PvE is reduced significantly. Players don’t have to keep running supply, and players don’t have to keep killing the mobs.

Transmuted Loot gear:
- Whenever a mob drops a gear loot, that loot is automatically transmuted to a random skin that is unlocked in the wardrobe.
It will follow the same rules as a transmuted skins does. Meaning, they can’t sell a masterwork tier Zap into the trading post. There would be an option where players can choose to toggle it on and off. This is so that they can sell gear directly to the trading post.
Exotics and rares will never be transmuted. The reasons:
- Players won’t accidentally get a transmuted Precursor.
- Players would want to sell rares and exotics in the TP.
- ANet can profit off of T-Charges.
Why:
- Because loot is boring. I don’t want to look the same from level 1 to 79.
- I don’t think many others will spend 790 T-charges to make their armor not look ugly. I don’t think PvPers have the patience to farm that many.
- Collecting skins will be actually rewarding. This is fashion wars.
- More replayablity: Creating an Alt account will have a better experience to customers.
Is this a feature worth it?
I say yes. The other direction is to add more lootable gear to make loot exciting, but I think this is the cheaper direction. This is not an endgame or level 80 feature. This is meant for level 79 and under.

How about having the players giving signficant buffs to nearby allied NPC, which are so severe that killing the player is going to be a higher priority?
Then you’ll just have bunkers walking them down and no one can stop them. The NPCs will be through the gates well before the player dies. Bad idea.
Also Archers really could use a movement speed boost.
They already got one. And it won’t help either. Their HP sucks and their chase stuff like crazy.
Also they attack players. This absolutely removes their purpose.

My suggestions:
- Killing a player should drop supplies automatically.
- If the enemy is in your base when you stomp them, then instead of supplies, a skritt or archer would spawn to attack.
- Door guards can be ressed if the door is still up.
Why? To encourage more PvP.
By allowing players to drop supplies automatically when killed. There is more reason to fight players rather than do PvE stuff. If players are in the base, Skritts spawning would be a comeback mechanic.
The reason I suggest that door guards can be ressed is:
- So that archers can still be useful.
- Reduce the dependency of PvEing. I don’t want to kill skritts all the time. Let the door guards do it instead. Why bother rushing the door guards if the enemy can simply just res them up?
This SH beta, I can really feel the PvE. It needs less PvE and more PvP.

The Main issue that Stronghold got atm is, that defense is absolutely useless. You just push all the time, running a bit doorbreaker and you can’t do much about it. If you defend, the opponents will respawn too fast to actually get rewarded for defending their.
My main issue is that defense is too strong. I can’t do anything to a player that ganks the skritts before they die.
- 15 Seconds respawntimer is really too low. You can just run in their base, getting killed and run into their base again and the opponent team can’t do much about it.
- The map is really small. You can run through in just a few seconds.
What are you talking about? I can’t reach from spawn to lord’s room in a few seconds.
- You can channel the buff, with a random noob form like Rampage and Plague, that every Necro and Warrior got and get the buff just for free. You can’t cc them because they got 3 Stacks Stab every 3 seconds. Even if you manage to interupt their first channel with every boon rip and kitten. They will just channel again and get it. You can’t kill them either, because of double endure pain proc or perma blind + weakness in plague. Just stupid. Really.
Treb
- Once the last door is open the lord doesn’t regenerate. Here same issue as always. Offense >>>>>>> Defense. You just go in with just 1 guy. Getting killed, respawn go in again and you can’t defend the lord because he stays at his crappy life pool.
Get a shoutbow, make them drop a res banner to waste all that effort the enemy team made to get the lord into downed state.
- You can’t upheal doorbreakers or defender NPC’s right. They just getting rekked by one person that stealthes a few times vs 5 People.

- The Matches atm are all the same. Everyone just kill the doorbreakers and the match will expand to 15 mins. After that the team won who got the warrior or the necro that channels the buff. Because that gives you really good points and that team, wins every game. Who is the fastest on the buff wins.
Then there is me, he runs straight to mid and spawn more skritts. Also, I run to the treb and treb the enemies at the defense lane.
My Solutions for this problems:
- When you are in rampage or plague, make the buff unable to channel like in stealth or invul. Or make the buff like the one in temple. Everytime you get hit, you get interupted.
Use treb.
- When the last door is open and you manage to defend your lord from your opponents completely. Let it restart from 100% again.

- Expand the map and give it paths to split and paths to teamfight at.
Map is already big for a 5v5.
- Give every NPC a buff that gives them extra 500% Healing from players or something like that. When you heal an NPC for 2k heal and he facetanks a mirror blade spike for 15k every 9 seconds, it’s not really something you can hold. I mean you make a game where the holy trinity doesn’t exist and you are forced to block/invul or dodge damage, but npc’s just stays their like, “what is dodging, or blocking?”, THAT CAN’T WORK. The NPC’s are just useless, you could throw them out of stronghold and nobody would care. Or let them respawn every now and then. But this is just kitten.
That would make defense even more useless. Which you complain about.
- Points for defeting NPC’s. If you would get Points for defending enemy npc’s it would be much more profitable to defend your base and the team are not just spaming doorbreakers over the map, the whole game.p

Mesmer, Necro, Warrior, Engie, Thief, also have sustained heals for the party, but they all lack burst heals.
Necros and warriors are both good healers.

Not really. There are games that does away with PvE or PvP. Guild Wars 2 can certainly do without PvE, as sPvP and WvW don’t integrate. Same with WvW and sPvP respectively. ANet can remove gold and make karma or the other hundreds of currency they have as their main currency.

Out of curiosity, what are you going to do if they don’t allow it in cities or even in the open game world? 2. Public dueling, as a result of it’s need for people to challenge will take place in locations that are heavily populated, i.e. banks, BLTP, crafting tables in major cities.

I see your point about the lack of variety. Not sure how to address that, without open world dueling. I can tell you that an autodecline feature does nothing to stop people from harassing you via /say, /map, or /whisper, to duel them. I ran into that problem in WoW, whenever I went into a city. By the way, at the time, cities were the only place you could access your bank, use the auction house, or get your mail. I’d like you to think about that, for just a moment. Every single time you go to check your mail, put something in the bank, or hit the auction house, somebody is whispering you, “come on, duel me. Just duel me bro. Don’t be a p—-y. Duel me!” So on and so on, until you finally get tired of being interrupted and you accept. You destroy him in 27 seconds, go back to what you were doing before, and then he starts pestering you for a rematch. You can’t ignore him, because you’ve already filled up your ignore list with goldsellers and other dueling kittens. Just to pull an example out of thin air.
Here is what I would do in Guild Wars 2. It might actually work for you. I have done this with goldsellers, beggars, and harassers and it has 100% effective rate. Report them and put them in the ignored list.

4. I have talked before about logical fallacies, yet you seem to be determined to make apples to oranges and strawman arguments. So let me restate my point in a way that will make it clearer:
The goal of adding a new feature to a game is to do so in such a way as to expand enjoyment of the game, without detracting from the current ways to enjoy the game. The feature you would like to see added, judging by the feedback of players other than just myself, is one that has some pretty negative aspects to it. I, and some of the other players in this thread, have decided to focus on ways that would maximize the positive, and minimize the negative, if Anet does decide to seriously consider adding dueling.
This thread is discussing the idea. You seem determined only to belittle my arguments, without offering any counterarguments. This is neither discussion, nor is it productive, since all your arguments boil down to, “my way or the highway.”
As a result, I have nothing further to say to you. I hope that if they do add dueling, you are able to enjoy it, even if it doesn’t take the form that you want.
2 & 3. aka. you are pulling this out of your pile of poo. I can do this too: ANet has a megaserver system that puts players into another map if it gets overfilled. WoW can’t do that. Therefore, ANet won’t feel the impact of lag. In your hypothesis this means, I should be lagging a lot when I playing a MM build How do I know? Because empircal oberservation of whatever crap you are talking about.
4. So, if people gets a negative impact, then ANet should remove/not add the feature. Okay. Remove WvW, PvE, PvP, Zerk because I get negatively impacted all the time.
5. I counter your arguments by saying, “Its not even a big problem.” with “Every other aspect of the game has all these same problems.” But you chose to belittle and ignore the problem in the other aspect of the game. All your complaints comes down to “My way or the high way.”

They can be killed, by enough people with enough time to spend. But people new to Ebonhawke need to be warned “do not annoy the chickens.”

I managed to solo a chicken. Its quite easy. Play a MM Necro with Lifesteal traits.
