The time limit is to prevent people from exploiting to kill it, such as getting the mob stuck somewhere or something and then aoeing through walls to widdle it down or useing mesmer clones to kill it while you hide somewhere unreachable

Why do you even want to get rid of the time limit. It’s not like the time limit is too short or anything.

For a solo player, it is. For Two or more players, time limit doesn’t even matter.

I am fine with Hero challenges being hard. I am not fine with the time limit. There is no reason to have a time limit. It makes hero challenges frustrating.

I say no to this suggestion because it is a waste of development time.

Do we get to say no to some things you would like implemented because we think it would be a waste of time?

I see that in https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Build-Saving-Stronghold-Deathmatch/first#post5622204 you suggested a few things for Stronghold. Sounds like it would take some development time to change how door guards and supply dropping works. Those of us who likely will never play Stronghold would rather the resources went to our own concerns.

Unless, of course, we understand that different things matter to different people and that having more furniture choices to allow more robust use of the deep decorating system already in place would be welcome by some people who don’t happen to be you, while refining Stronghold gameplay will no doubt make other people (such as you) happy and thus would also be worth doing.

You can say No to that because of wasted development time if you want. You’ll be another person in line that says that.

It is meant to be specific.

  • I wouldn’t use Ancient seed if I was playing a healing druid. I wouldn’t use Lingering Light if I was playing a Power druid.
  • I wouldn’t want to be taken out of stealth if I was trying to heal or buff people.
  • Heal + might/protection is too strong together even when excluding burn/damage.

If I am tired of the Mastery grind, I can go to here and do them. They are fun and distracting mini games.

  • Grace of the Land: Giving Boons will increase your Astral force generation. Cosmic Ray will give might and protection to allies. Allies affected by your celestial avatar abilities gain damage and condition damage increase.
  • Ancient Seeds: Cosmic Ray will burn and damage enemies. Damaging enemeis will increase your astral force generation. Striking a stunned, dazed, knocked down, or launched foe summons roots to entangle them.
  • Lingering Light: Healing allies will increase your astral force generation. Cosmic ray will heal allies. When you heal an ally their next outgoing attack will heal them (based upon your healing) and blind their target.

If I have Grace of the Land, My priority is supporting through buffs. If I have Ancient Seeds, I am most likely a offensive oriented build. If I have Lingering Light, I should be playing a healbot.

So much for this being a GRIND FREE game.

I think the Elite Spec require bigger change to work, so they need more time.

The fact that it’s already feeling grindy by the first/second day is a bad thing

Again if that is grindy to you then what is not grindy to you, you don’t have to farm the same events over and over again and you don’t have to stay in verdent brink.

I know, I didn’t. I got 8/11 of the hero points there, then left because the rest looked like they were gated behind masteries (I later found out that 4 of them were supposed to be, it was a mesmer specific thing that made one of them possible to get without it), rushed through each of the other maps to farm hero points to unlock the chronomancer spec that fixes the awful zoo playstyle of the base mesmer, and was so burned out at the end that I wanted nothing more to do with the new maps.

And this comes back to my point of view where it is only day 1 and that should take it a step at a time and if you ever feel like its to grindy just stop and go do something else and then continue with what you need to.

Okay. Stop doing the stuff that gets you to the fun stuff. So you can do…. other things?

This is essentially what even seasoned thieves go through. The current balance says that if a thief chooses to engage, be that contesting a point or anything that isnt +1, he’s going to melt. It isnt that the cap is high, its that thief is supposed to be anywhere people are not.

Then whoever is playing that way is a terrible thief.

Thief are suppose to go where he is needed most. Stealth to res allies. Stunlock vulnerable foes to focus them down. Chase and kill low hp targets. D/P Thief are built for that and it is a strong build.

If d/p were built for going to be somewhere people are not, they would be wearing soldier amulet and every single survivalibility trait.

Some time ago, Thieves were kings of 1v1 while they have stealth. This made them overpowered as kitten. They have the ability to do high damage and have high survivability due to mobility and stealth. Thieves were rightfully nerfed.

If thieves should be buffed to win 1v1 easily, they should lose/reduce access to stealth. Hopefully daredevil would fill that.

Easily, hardcounter, OP, beat everything <<<this gets thrown around so much BUT WHERE DO YOU SEE ANY THIEF ASKING FOR IT!!??

Then you already got what you asked for. Thieves can win 1v1. They just can’t win it easily as before.

Both statements are true.

So bending over to pick up a $100 bill found on the sidewalk one time is a grind because it isn’t actually fun?

Unlocking your elite spec is a training line in your training panel that costs hero points. You do need to have trained all the existing training lines before you’re allowed to put hero points into your elite spec.

If you’ve got all the hero points in the existing game you’ll have enough to train about half the elite specialization training line on launch day. The rest you’ll need to earn in the jungle or via the new system Tyler outlined yesterday from WvW. The number of points to fully train your elite spec is higher than other training lines – but hero challenges in the jungle are worth 10 points each, so it’s not actually as big as it appears.

This is disgustingly grindy.

What if I want my minions to die?

The PvE change to reduce AoE wiping of minions is generally good, though an alternative I selfishly prefer is to have cast time and respawn cool down cut.

Then you can slot them out because it is a wasted slot.

Even if Druids will highly use it, it will be useful for anyone, regardless if they are support, control, damage.

If you see an enemy chasing a low hp ally. You can:

  • Stun him to stop it from chasing.
  • Put tons of defensive boons on him.
  • DPS the mob down.

Build Saving - Stronghold, Deathmatch..

Stronghold needs to be less PvE and more PvP. Build saving won’t do that.

My suggestions:

  • Killing a player should drop supplies automatically.
  • If the enemy is in your base when you stomp them, then instead of supplies, a skritt or archer would spawn to attack.
  • Door guards can be ressed if the door is still up.

Why? To encourage more PvP.

By allowing players to drop supplies automatically when killed. There is more reason to fight players rather than do PvE stuff. If players are in the base, Skritts spawning would be a comeback mechanic.

The reason I suggest that door guards can be ressed is:

  • So that archers can still be useful.
  • Reduce the dependency of PvEing. I don’t want to kill skritts all the time. Let the door guards do it instead. If I am a attacker, Why bother rushing the door guards if the enemy can simply just res them up?

Rousing Resilience

Although I respect your suggestions I must say I have to highly disagree with all of these the trait is fine as it is and tbh with zerker coming out this trait is about to be used more often. Let me point something out.

It would be fine if it isn’t competing against Last Stand or Cleansing Ire. But it is competing with those two traits, so it is a useless trait.

1. If you have this trait on if you use balanced stance you get a free 1000 toughness even if you are not stunned it just you dont get any healing.

Or I could use defy pain and get the free invulnerability.

2. This trait gonna be great and super powerful with the elite skill head butt and the zerker skill outrage.

I tested it and It sucked. Headbutt is a great offensive skill. But it isn’t a good panic skill when I need it most, Rousing Resilience is a panic trait. I can’t headbutt ranged enemies. I can’t headbutt while blinded. I can’t headbutt blocked foes.

3. If you wanna be “supportive” go play a guardian most of warriors skills are for its self like how tank warrior mostly benefit themselves ( and can be almost borderline unkillable) anyways warrior not the “supportive type” the way the warrior supports besides shouts and debuffs and banners is being the last one standing or other things like fast revives and stuff but ether way you get the point.

Warriors can’t be supportive like the 7 other classes because…?

4. there no reason to give the skill a cool down when you only heal off of stuns when u stunbreak and finally the idea of when you stun break everyone else does it too well Rev already has that so yea.

One more thing you dont need cleansing ire. If you have run of the soilder and runeing the shout build plus with warhorn trait that gets rid of condis your will be fine plus dont get me started on zerker stance

Everything but Elite Specializations to my knowledge. You should have access to Leagues, as such, to their rewards. You should have access to Stronghold. Maybe I’m wrong, so don’t quote me on that.

The third will only give hp and +1000 toughness only if the player is disabled and then was stunbreak from the warrior’s stunbreak skill.

  • Warrior isn’t disabled. Warrior doesn’t get 1000 toughness
  • Player 1 isn’t disabled. Player 1 doesn’t get 1000 toughness.
  • Player 2 is disabled. Player 2 gets a stunbreak and 1000 toughness + hp.

That’s definitely less powerful than I thought you were saying, which is good. It would still be incredibly powerful and would make “Shake It Off” on a Healing Shout build amazing. Don’t know if it would be op or not, but I’d definitely want to run it in wvw.

On the cost of personal survival. You lose Last Stand and Cleansing Ire.

No they aren’t…

They are moving them around as they never wanted dungeons to be the focus of end game content in the first place.

Fractals are still core game.

Which requires agony infusion. Fractal mastery is HoT feature.

As mentioned on today’s GuildChat, we will indeed be adding a slew of new stat combos, runes, and sigils to sPvP with the launch of Heart of Thorns. A small example of what we’ll be adding are trapper runes and sinister stats, but there’s plenty more for you to discover on October 23.

As a note (and to address concerns), we won’t be adding dire stats or perplexity runes to sPvP. We’re vetting and discussing each and every rune/sigil/stat combo as a group before adding them in, with the main goal being improving build diversity.

I’ll also mention that we’re going to be changing the 6/6 bonus on Vampirism. After HoT launch it will no longer proc Mist Form at 25% hp, but will instead cast an AoE lifesteal to up to 5 nearby targets. This will reduce the binary defensive nature of the rune and bring it more inline with similar sets.

There’s going to be a lot of change with the launch next week, and we’re going to be watching balance very closely in all game modes. We will be working to address any emergent gameplay we’re not comfortable with as quickly as possible.

ANet is nerfing old content rewards so that you’ll buy HoT.

Hmmm, new amulets. Aside from zealots, anything else you folks think would be interesting?

Trap runes, evade runes, some other runes that aren’t in sPvP. Just add all the runes.

As for your specific suggestions, I think two would make the trait too strong. For example, your first one combined with Outrage would give about 2500 health every 10s plus a 4/5 uptime of +1000 toughness (along with its interaction with Armored Attack, utility buffs, etc). Your third one would do the same but on steroids.

The third will only give hp and +1000 toughness only if the player is disabled and then was stunbreak from the warrior’s stunbreak skill.

  • Warrior isn’t disabled. Warrior doesn’t get 1000 toughness
  • Player 1 isn’t disabled. Player 1 doesn’t get 1000 toughness.
  • Player 2 is disabled. Player 2 gets a stunbreak and 1000 toughness + hp.

dishonor does not help players that DC’s unintentionally. & DC happens a lot.

Intentional or not. It does hurt your teammates. If you DC that much, it is better to try to improve your connection consistency.

This is why Hotjoin needs more attention.

So I can PvP while avoiding dishonor when I dc a lot.

There is no way to ban anything.

In MOBA, if you ban a hero, you ban a hero. There are 50 other heroes to choose from.

If you ban a trait line/amulet, that is like banning 50 heroes out of the 50 heroes.
