I got excited when I saw a dev respond to the ranger thread. Then I read the thread… and Gaile’s post and… yeah. bleh.
As for the OP, no. People rarely use barrage in large scale combat because of retal. Retal kills too fast.
And omg, why do people suggest such crazy ideas.
Why would you make a burst skill not able to deal critical hits…
That doesn’t even make remote sense. :/

Really like the idea, a lot. But I do think it’s OP with those numbers. You can pretty easily get 100% crit chance which would essentially just mean all our CDs would be reduced by 33%.
Just thinking on TU alone, you could use it every 16s. For a heal which heals 8500 without any Healing Power to be on a 16s CD… That’s insane.
I meant just utility skills haha. It doesn’t apply to healing skills or elites.

with their uselessness, screwing up all matches.
Anet do something, we’re tired.
Worst thing is that most ppl actually think power ranger is good..maybe because rom likes running soloq with that or something..
Flash news for all those power rangers out here: ROM would be good even playing with no traits (And even him while on power ranger has his problems with ppl able to los his lb around)…but you guys are not ROM so just stop being freekills (I already gave up trying to rez those terds up just to see them going down again 3 secs later)…thank you.
I haven’t got a chance to talk to ROM in game yet, but I would like to be able to 1v1 him if its possible. While he may not main ranger, I watched the way he plays and he has a lot of potential with the class if he can learn the right rotations to maximize damage.
As for power rangers in tpvp, are you talking about zerk or actual power specs?
Power is good for dueling and roaming scenarios alone. You don’t deal enough damage to effectively help during a fight tpvp-wise and actually end up hindering your team as it is very difficult to hold a point/provide the necessary support with either damage and/or buffs.
Zerker ranger however, is good in tpvp. It would be the primary roamer of the team and would be able to sit on the sidelines and pump out enough damage to change the tide of a fight. Even if the zerk ranger can’t down the person/get the kill, putting someone on the defensive means less pressure on your teammates.

I don’t think you can mod gw2…
I mean, you can hack, but you’d probably get banned lol
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
get carrion pistol
both thieves and engis use condi with that weapon (p/d for thief, p/x for engi)
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
I missed the horns cuz of sandy
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
immobilize is fine, I just hate it when I get immobilized in the air and can’t do kitten while im getting attacked
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
If I’m running bleed in tpvp, I go 2/2/4/6/0 full survival sb s/d
If I’m running bleed bunker in tpvp, I go 2/0/6/6/0 carrion bark skin sb s/d or a/d
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
Here’s a rework on mine.
ShortBow
Crossfire – Fires an arrow. Applies bleed every 3rd attack. (enemy gets a Crossfire indicator counter on screen hope that make sense)
Poison Volley – Fires a spread of poison arrows. Pets next attack does 50% more damage to poison foe.
Quick Shot – Applies Swiftness regardless. Pet gains swiftness.
Crippling Shot – Same.
Concussion Shot – Same.
omg, sorry, that won’t work at all. crossfire needs the damage from bleeds. this would make the weapon very, very bad in my eyes
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
You are asking for a very dangerous buff, my friend. But i like it.
Sincerely,
Spirit Ranger.Yeah? Okay, care to tell us why it’s a very dangerous buff? Your post is useless if you don’t.
What’s with the attitude? Torment is obviously a stronger condi than bleeds. The target is usually in motion so the torment would almost always be doing more damage. If the target doesn’t move, then it’s easier to hit him/her. That is why its more dangerous.
And fyi, I was joking.
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
how about crossfire applies torment instead

Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
As for havoc. I’ve commanded for a zergbusting guild on my ranger before, and I’ve run ranger squad 2-3 times. If we’re running havoc, we’ll literally go zerker. I taught my guys how to survive and we called targets and just wrecked people. We did this a while back as well, before all the buffs, so we’ll be even better now.
Basically, if we have terrain advantage, we’ll win nearly 95% of the time unless we have everyone standing in an ele’s meteor shower, or get hit with a blade storm (1 mesmer, 7-15+ thieves… time warp + dagger storm = gg. All of the projectiles bounce, and with health gain on crit, the signet that heals every time they hit, life steal food, fire sigils, blood sigils, etc. etc. they can do massive damage with full zerk and still stay alive.)
For GvG, we never got a chance to GvG on full ranger, but we need everyone quite tanky. With high might stacks, fury, and a good number of buffs, we’d still do a good amount of damage while maintaining survivability.

I believe we’ve made up our mind about [Wind] moving to SoS. Nothing is set in stone yet, but I’m pretty sure that’s where we are headed.
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
Hahaha, I remember that.
That was crazy fun. That’s what I’m trying to get started up in [Wind]. Just on a larger scale.
But yeah, we wrecked superior numbers multiple times and got them bagz.
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
first off, grats Arrow (ItIsFinished), :]
I have school, otherwise i’d compete myself. But i’m happy you’re making us look good with ur mad rangr skillz
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
haha, I don’t use it, Lugh was asking for the build with an insane amount of condi removal and that was it.
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
I remember couple of months ago, some ranger posted on forum a build that can remove like 100+ condis per min or somthing crzy like that. Searched for it, didnt find.
But after watching flopy the rabit(potatoes) youtube and twich(jsut one example) you start to understand that meny times good pressure on your oponnest, and control is the best condi defence. For example, vs p/d thief always take sic’em over SoR. VS fear necro always take Sotw over Sor(for the stability ofc). etc…
that was me.
this is the newest version
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
Count me in!
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
Fire + Ice build has meditation recharge trait. ur not using any meditations tho
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
ppl just get mad when they are about to kill a thief in wvw, then the thief just shadow refuges and u never see him again
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
huh, that build is very similar to the one I use now
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
Fast forward to todays ranger;
Glasscannon RF builds have EIGHT counters:
Reflect
Retalitation
Blocking
Evading + Dodging
Invulnerabilities
Line of Sight + other game bugs
Interrupts
Weakness (just watch how much damage ranger does when it cannot crit… basically LESS then 1/3rd of its normal damage)Now, that is counting only HARD counters. Stuff that literally shuts down the ranger build.
If we are to draw comparisons
Old “OP” warrior needed 7 trait points (35) to be efficient, Ranger needs a minimum of 8 for Rapid Fire to even WORK.That would be all.
I hate retaliation. On any ranger spec aside from maybe full melee, retaliation is the most annoying thing for a ranger to fight.
Guardians especially are a hard counter to rangers with all of their blinds, blocks, and teleports, its very hard to get a single hit in. At least on lb ranger. Sb against guards is terrible cuz they do more dmg to us than we do to them if we’re spamming sb 1 and they have retal up.
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
fire in ur OH axe
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
lol someone couldn’t kill a full zerk ranger.
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
yay!

Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]

Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]

Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
Heavy condi pressure (bleeds, burn, poison, etc. etc.)
Enormous amounts of soft cc (cripple + immobilize)
Good armor + health
aaaanddddd….
CONFUSION! lol.
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
-sigh- I try to avoid responding to these sort of threads, but I mean, idk, it just gets stupid to a point where I feel I have to.
It is the bad players who complain about any skill in general. Ever wonder why the ppl making these threads are people you’ve never heard of? I’m not gonna make the assumption that they are pve heroes trying wvw out for the first time and getting their kitten handed to them, but it really seems that way.
As for rapid fire. I main a ranger, and I have since release… I’ve mained power/zerk for over a year and a half and I feel as if I can play both power and condition builds to pretty high standards (I don’t wanna brag lol). I know my class and the rotations so when I fight another zerk ranger, I laugh.
Any time I see a ranger use rapid fire on me, I dodge it, los (line of sight) it, reflect it (with offhand axe), block it (with greatsword 4), evade then leap towards them (greatsword 3), and a multitude of other ways to mitigate if not completely (for the most part) avoid the damage of the skill.
OBVIOUSLY, if u stand there eating the freakin rapid fire ur gonna die. It does its damage over time… and while the cast time may have been reduced, even with quickness, I still feel its very easy to avoid getting hit with.
So, you guys have no right to complain about rapid fire tbh. Not until you fight a beast of a power ranger, and even then, you still have no right to complain cuz that person just outskilled you and there’s nothing you can do about that except get better yourself.
(If you want to fight me, pm me in game @S H A D O W F A L L)
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
15 seconds of quickness together with 12 seconds of invulnerability
Which other prof has that?
12s of continuous quickness, not 15.
1. Stow pet
2. In combat (procs BM GM)
3. After 3s, switch pets (procs BM GM)
4. UtilityTheres a 3s or so delay before you can switch pets again.
