I am no where near being an Elite player, it is extremely unlikely i will ever see someone from D’n’T join my group to help me learn more paths. If LFG is covered with “no noobs/experience players only”, I will just post my own group with specific details on what I want and what they could expect.

Well, now that you mention it.. We do pug from time to time. Sometimes for fun, other times we’re just short a person. Here’s a recent experience.

Today we did a fotm 38. We needed a pug to fill last slot. After gearchecking and kicked 5 or so people who were in various awful gear sets claiming to be ‘zerker’ which they were not, we finally got someone in the correct gear. I will not mention the name of this person but I can tell you that he claimed to be a top pvper. He was a thief, and the entire run he camped his shortbow. We asked him to please melee, because the dps was awful, it felt like a 4 man team. His response was to stand in melee range with the shortbow, autoattacking. We really strained to be nice to him, but he blew up and started throwing out insults left right and centre at us. He claimed that his shortbow was good dps, that he needed it to survive, that he was a top pvper and far exceeded our skill in every way, and that we were bad.. etc etc. In the end we kicked him.

This is why we avoid pugs. They are a lost cause. If they want to learn, if they truly want to learn, they can go out of their way and look at our various videos and build guides. It should not be up to us to educate the people who refuse to be educated. It should not be up to us, to take responsibility for people who wont take responsibility for themselves. You are absolutely correct in stating that people should not expect things to be handed to them on a silver platter, the sad reality of it is that most of them do expect this.

Only change I would recommend is place longer consecrations instead of unscathed contender for dungeon team play. You’re gonna want those longer wall/hallowed/purge times.

Or you could just go ahead an invest a lil more into virtues and have both and sacrifice say, firey wrath.

So basically most of the people who are called ‘elitists and scumbags’ on a regular basis on these forums, are actually not the horrible evil kittenholes that the casuals make them out to be. Now if only they took off their care bear goggles and realized this.. Ah here’s to hoping.

This is exactly why I hate teaching PUGs. You support just as well in zerker, and AH builds are trash.

CoE Path 2 and 3. Aplha. It varies but sometimes, its too much too often with the AE he does Support helps there. Just one example.

Unless I’m a noob, AH don’t actually heal you ally. Nothing in that tree even support your ally. All it does is make you survive better, but nothing about your ally.

I have symbols, dodge roll (which on avg heals about 10% per roll, AND I can roll 3-4 in a row before no endurance. I have the F2 forgot the name. And that combined with the elite that resets F1-F3, I heal a lot. That in addition to the fact that I prioritize empowering over my own damage which is low. I also can take a hit. Often times, I can stand and take damage then others can’t. But this is all besides my point which people don’t seem to care about being selfish so I give up. Be selfish. I’ll learn via YouTube and join the no noob groups.

I didn’t say guardian is bad at support. I just say that tree actually didn’t support your group at all.

And I like your attitude. Other people are selfish to care about their time when you can’t stand to take your time to do the dungeon yourself.

My sarcasm detector is broken. But I wasn’t even talking about any tree for my spec. I’m an altruistic on my guardian by definition of the word altruistic. My heals focus on group healing. Contrary to what someone else said, it is useful. And again, I reiterate (in response to whoever said support guard or altruistic guard is pointless in Arah) that if people were willing to be a little more helpful, I would have known.

But I give up. I’ll follow someone else’s advice and just join a group after I watch the vids. Then I’ll start open groups when I know what I’m doing in there.

Stop making a case for your AH build helping things. It doesn’t. It draws fights out and gives you a false sense of being helpful. It’s also very lazy because people use it so they don’t have to dodge.

I invite you to run CoE with me. I’ve run it too with all zerk warriors and we’ve ripped through all paths, but with other groups of same composition, it has failed because people ran out of energy, couldn’t dodge and died. It varies. Alpha sometimes spams AE, sometimes he doesnt. I’m all for throwing max damage at everything but in my experience, not all encounters work that way making support necessary. And I’d argue for the last time my preference is zerk. Four of my six 80’s are full zerk. If damage is better for Arah, then that is what I’ll run.

I invite you to duo Lupicus with me and we will see who runs out of dodges.

Whilst using the rifle to jump walls in certain places I would pop stability. When the rifle broke, what would happen is this: The jump would go off, the rifle would be gone, but the jump would not go as high or as far forward. I’d usually just careen into the ground.. or a bunch of deadeyes -_-. To counter this I would aim as far as I could each time whilst using stabilty (not always possible but sometimes worked out). Many(Most?) times however, yes, I would still get the knockdown whilst having stab on, seems like another chance in itself as to what happens there.

Almost every boss behaves differently if the party ranges or melee it. Take spider and alpha for example, if we have someone range-ing any of these, they’ll spam ranged habilities, if everyone is meleeing, you’ll not see said habilities. Pretty sure lupi has some habilities that only affect ranged people as well. I don’t really get how any of that is a bug, it seems like intended combat mechanics to me.

Nah meleeing all together in one spot = clearly exploiting. All melee weapons should be deleted from the game to discourage this. Whoever thought melee was a good idea in this game needs to be fired.

This particular piece of work, when viewed through the subjective frame is a riveting and engaging journey through the eyes of a web developer. The focal point is the steaming pile of kitten in the middle, a small plume of stank rises upwards from the main body, connecting it to the thick black frame. This frame creates a dramatic and sullen atmosphere, a depressing reality that we all must face if we are to conquer the forums ahead should we dare click upon the icon. The pile of kitten that draws the eye in is deceptive in a way. The viewer may at first believe it to be a sarcastic undertone, a way of casually saying ‘haha this dungeon forum is crap!’ while actually meaning it’s amazing and benign. However, much like a venus fly trap that looks to be a comforting and nice place to live, it soon turns out to be a complete and utter kitten-hole and no one wants to be stuck in.

With Clerics gear most of my damage is coming (and I do mean most in a team) from perma-retaliation on me and almost perma on my teammates. Runes I run on it are 2 Monk 2 Water and 2 Travelers. Lets me keep my buffs up for crazy long times…and one of those buffs also happens to be regen too :p

what if I tell you retaliation damage scales with your power?

I’d say Might stacks then take off the kid gloves and tell you Ozzy and Coley—and anyone else—that I roll up and smoke zerkers like a cheap blunt. bring your PvE junk into WvW and anyone who plays more than once a week knows just how long you’ll last against a havoc or a zerg. Frak: in a havoc or a zerg you’re glass cannon crud gets you dead at the gate cuz you’re over-reliant on dodges and no one’s going to waste time ressing a guardian that explodes in 15 seconds. Someone hits you and realizes just how soft you are, their mission in life becomes making sure you down ASAP if you don’t drop from AoE in the first place which you probably did because you are zerker thus you are leet.

So yes, please bring your zerk on in. I love farming you scrubs. You guys make me skill points and loot bags snaps fingers all day long and I laugh when you roll in here on a BnW about skill balance.

Just like all the other PvE scrubs we’ve been rolling over the last couple months. One of the best Commanders in our server is an AH guardian. He’s a hardass but he knows how to drop the hammer. And he also knows why high HP is important.

The only thing truly wrong with the path (besides being too long time-wise for the reward) is the tetris puzzle thing with the electrified floor. The hologram you have to lure to the door almost always aggros on the wrong person and it takes way longer than it should to finish simply due to bad AI.

Solution for Anet: stop making encounters that rely on the NPC ai to work, or enemy mob ai to work. since your ai sucks, it makes any ai reliant encounter inherently frustrating.

This is a dumb dungeon.

1) Pugs don’t know what level they are and LFG tool doesn’t automatically filter them. We get lowbies in this dungeon who just go ??? WHAT IS LEVEL when you ask them to switch to a level 80 alt.

2) Pugs can’t do oozes. Last time I did it I had to kick like four different people who kept killing the ooze.

3) Pugs can’t do oozes. Last time I fought the duo it was going fine until one guy got the ooze aggro and panicked and ran clear to the far side of the arena and somehow died out there, taking the ooze with him and leaving us with like five stacks of burning oil.

Aaaaand I haven’t gotten any further than that. Anyone who isn’t kittened and wants to do this dungeon, look me up.

It’s shaping up to being one of those dungeons you do once in a while because you’re bored and it’s pretty meh. Not worth including in my everyday dungeon tour.

For pugs- They are too stupid to be able to do this, I think give it a month or so and this dungeon will be a ghost town. We get it A-Net, you want to force everyone to do living story crap, even when they try to get away from it in dungeons. We get it. Just stop. Stop.

Stop trying to make the guy a bad player who we all joke with each other about in PUG horror stories, let’s make him actually be useful to dungeon parties. The only way you can do that is in offensve gear.

You are only projecting your personal experience and expectations upon others, which to summarize is absolutely useless to anyone but yourself. You’ve had problems because someone that did not know the game wore cleric gear and failed, you’ve probably even done the same.

The way you describe dungeons is like its very complex material. So far the only complex fight in gw2 is teq and it doesn’t require zerker gear. That being said, you shouldn’t be trying to teach anyone nor trying to convert them to your mindset by belittling their perspective.

In fact, its not even none of your business what gear other players want to use. Just start to worry about yourself and if you run into a player who isn’t meeting your “personal” expectations then you have the choice not to group with them.

Nope, clerics gear is objectively worse for dungeons than berserkers. Anyone who wears clerics gear in a dungeon group is looking to be carried.

As an experiment, imagine these two scenarios.

1. Clerics gear guy contributes no dps and his “support” contributions are meaningless because everyone in the group can dodge properly and his heals are less than trivial.

2. Berserker geared guy goes afk at the start of the dungeon and the rest of the team four mans it.

Is there a substantial difference in these two scenarios? I would content that both were more or less equally carried.

Imagination does nothing to prove anything. The only reason why you even tried to give examples is to push your own personal opinion that zerker gear is superior. Notice how your second example glorifies the zerker users? While the cleric user magically does no dps, which is error. The only thing that does happen is they dps slower.

A player is being carried when they have no idea how to run the dungeon. And like I said, its probably wise to stop trying to glorify dungeon runs like they are rocket science. All of them are easy. Its hard to justify the use of the word being “carried” when the dungeons are already easy.

Like I said, the only pve content that has a challenge is teq.

The only time any claim that zerker is superior would be valid is if all bosses had a enrage timer. Then the only thing that would matter is achieving max dps.

There is no personal opinion. The simple fact of the matter is that zerker gear is better for dungeons. I don’t have to like it, but that’s just how it is.

Imagine that, you have to do three hits just to make up for the damage my one hit did. Now just think, that’s one of my hits. The longer a fight goes on, the larger the gap is between the zerker and the cleric.

I stopped adding pug guardians as well. I put them in the same league as rangers. There’s few things I trust a pug with, one of them is playing zerk warrior because it is braindead easy.

A typical pug guardian: Doesn’t use virtues, doesn’t use reflects, uses tanky (pvt, clerics, knights) gear and literally does nothing, not even condition removal. He tends to think he is doing something merely by standing around hitting things and ‘holding agro’ on mobs that should have been dead 5 mins ago but are not because his dps is so poor. His secondary set almost always is scepter/shield or scepter/focus or staff which he will sit on for the majority of the run and auto attack with. If players could be npcs, a pug guardian could very likely come close one.

You’re asking for DPS but running a tank spec. Get a full set of zerk gear and switch your traits to something like 10/30/20/10/0 and you’ll easily match, if not exceed, any comparable zerk warrior spec.

By the way as an aside, the “PvP Community Coordinator” has very poor attitude in all her posts. Very condescending and sarcastic. For all the poo we fling at the pvp devs they at least keep their heads screwed on right when they post.

If I could hazard a guess, I’d say that Allie came to the forums in a very positive manner at first but this place is a sea of tears and anger that never stops, even when she tries to be reassuring. She and other devs are very passionate about their game, and after a year or so of constant Q_Q, rude comments etc, what more can be said?

Likely because there’s more money in allocating resources to temp casual content that drives people back into the game every 2 weeks to drop $$$ in the cash shop. However, I think NCsoft is probably more responsible for this.
