Raids become repetitive in every game. Gww just doesnt require you to farm the very single week.

cairn and mo are dps golems vg just becomes one with distort same with gorse deimos aoe smarog cm spears. Every thimg that would break rotation results in a dps loss. Distortimg every importand mechanic results in more dps.
tbh i never had a real trouble cleaving down adds and i usually run with sword focus mesmer.
it gave me some asura vibes. But in arah theres alot of glass coloured and stuff. Also the fact that they update orr assets makes me thok that we could get like the fall of abbadon?
Every rotation on qt’s site is writen without taking distort shares into acount. 5-10% less quickness uptime is nothing compaired to your whole group being able to ignore mechanics and just dps.
Apples to Apples they both did the same thing, and if one instance is considered to be unhealthy enough for the gamestate to be changed, it’s very safe to say that the other isn’t too far behind due to it doing the exact same thing.
Anet decided to nerf Precog because it—in addition to PvE issues—single-handedly turned Chronomancer into an unkillable bunker in PvP. Because Distortion-share as we know it in PvE requires heavy trait investment, it’s never as prevalent in competitive modes because you lose other key traits to achieve it. If Distortion-share required no traits to achieve at the current frequency, I’d agree with you. That it requires so many, however, means I completely disagree with you. You give up a lot to pull it off.
Effectively, it’s something like a 12 second CD, that’s relevant. The investment for that isn’t really high.

T5 would be fun with rolling a random fractal, perma combat, no ressing, no /gg, extra instabilities and better rewards. But it still wouldn’t be as hard as it should be.
T5 fractals should be modified like:
- not able to use the fan at Old Tom, last golems are champions
- urban should have the barricades made in a way that makes you run all the paths possible, boss should summon ballistas and arrow carts
- volcanic should be filled with the rolling boulders constantly threatening the areas.things like that
Some good ideas maybe 100 cm with some bufs can be the t5 fractal equivilent. I liked some of the ideas for the rest of the fractals except of old tom. Old tom can be done like that even now.
Tbh i dont recall which skill is shield of courage. But theres alot more attacks tht bypass blocks and blocks are a universal mechanic. And no taking illusions is not such a hyge dps increase. Mesmer has already a massive amaount of support and contril due to interupts cc aegis reflects stealth portal and the list goes on…
Aegis is weaker than distort. It only block 1 instance of dmg. Meanwhile distort can avoid multiple ones. Distort also foesnt have this " high cd" that you speak of. I can chain distorts with phantam summons and soi and avoid key attacks. Theres also “no cost” simce we dont have anykomd of resource

I think i should mention that Only those who have hot and only tjose who have unlocked the elite soec can use the weapons. Wether its with the trait line/utilities equiped or not. It just feels wierd that even tho i have mastered the chronomancer i cannot use shield outside of it.
I think the idea is that elite specs are a major feature of expansions so tying the weapon choice to the spec is important. Also, every available weapon skill has to be balanced against every other; the more new weapons, the harder it gets to balance.
I can see why people want more options for the base class (or even the base class with new elite specs unlocked). That doesn’t mean it’s good for the game’s long-term health.
You will get acess to shield in and out of chrono only once you have unlocked the elite spec. Thats a given. Also the weapons have been balanced the shield on mesmers was tuned and somwill elite soec 2 weapons and 3 and 4 etc.
Tbh its a generous trial.
The issue is that encounters get trivialised and raidbosses are turned into dps golems because of how powerfull this skill is. Regardless of the timing a skill should bot have this kimd of power.

Why nerf it? The timing is really really precise and it only effects you. Unlike some trully broken mechanics and pve content. Something something distort share.
Unintended vs intended interactions. Like it or not the devs did intend mesmers to be able to make 5 people invulnerable for 1s, I doubt they intended CS to make you immune to fall damage though.
Having said that I don’t think it should be high on the list of things that need changing but probably will soon anyway, just like when guards and other classes could prevent fall damage with careful timing of JI.
I dont think they intended for ppl to be able to make 4 more ppl completely immune to dmg so often. Hence the nature of the aoe on deimos.

They gave Orrian Artifacts to the human rulers. You know what kinds of artifacts 2 of them were? Swords!!1! Legendary sword for ep 6 confirmed.

They were as lethal as critters in soldi ocean. If someone could not cc them or use a downed skill to deal with them then thats their issue to fix. Its a simple mechanic with simple counterplay that just added more flavour in t4 fractals.
Some of the plot threads might get closed before the 25th. Some will get closed on the 25th. But there’s going to be an extended period between LS3.6 and the release of the expac for ANet to introduce new events, possibly remove existing ones (or tweak them), and resolve some of the story lines.
I also think it’s healthy for good MMOs to keep some mysteries alive.
Theres a difference with a mystery and an unfinished questline.
Yeah, they’ve been trying a little too hard to get us to play ‘their way’ as of late. Pretty much everything that players genuinely enjoy – from the good old dungeon farming days right down to the AB multi map – seems to be at odds with their design goals (and probably revenue stream).
It’s probably a big part of why MMOs aren’t as successful as they used to be. Since the sub-based model is no longer as viable, developers have been making their games suck just enough that you need to spend cash to really enjoy them, but not so much that you want to quit. It’s a fine line.
Theres a diff between enjoying something and flat out exploiting game mechanics. Dungeons were clearly over tuned multiloot was a flat out exploit and the leather farm(tbh the leather farm wasnt 100% afk and it was fun to look at) but it wasnt what the devs intented and they nerfed it. I dont agree with the lake doric nerf but hey ots their game.

That works for a few percent of the T4 fractal player base. For the average pug, a halfway competent healer is super valuable.
it’s not valuable at all. feels more like a leecher. people should understand simple pve fractal mechanics and not feed and facetank crap and synergize their rotation with the encounter and use builds that actually work against the encounter and not meta all the time. how druid will help at swamp or aquatic?
Draco not everyone is used to salt premades or other premade groups. Healers make mistakes carry little punishment. They always had so they always carry value now if you and your group are completely capable of doing content without it thats good on you but not everyone does.

I know this has been discussed (quite alot) but i dont think theres anything game-breaking about allowing only weapons to be picked outside elite specs.
Imo so far iv seen that the bigger “powercreep” or effectiveness of the elite specs come from the traits and the utility skills themselves. Usually the weapon plays smaller part. (this varies from class to class)
I also believe that it won’t cause some great imbalance if you can use, lets say the shield while playing base mesmer.
1 of the biggest complains with Hot was that build diversity took a big hit by the superior elite specs and i believe that this would open up build crafting alot more.

I can also understand the arguement around making hard choices and i believe keeping the utilities locked and the max elite traitlines active to 1 creates enough of a hard choice.

I got a “play doff classes encouragement” for you. Its called ranked without class stacking. And ofc to all who will be like “but i want to play my class” theres unranked que go have fun. This isnt about playing what you want this is about beimg competitive and havimg an overall good experience.
I also do believe that allowimg us to use elite spec weapons out of elite spcs would be good but only the weapons. Utilities and traits will still be chrono locked.

Regardless of how the matchmaker works do you think you will be taking biggers steps with leavers or afk’s like suspencion from the rest of the season or even Ban if they do this on multiple seasons? This attitude in game lower the competitive spirit alot of ppl want from pvp.

Personally I feel the pic has an Elona feel to it. Cantha would be out of the question because the expansion is about the desert for 4 huge maps with very few waypoints 3 on average and in the north of all 4 desert maps forcing us to use one of the 5 mounts in the expansion, the 5th map is a map from Vabbi region of Elona.
First, what I don’t get is Elona and the desert are only coming in the expansion or so the would have us believe.
Second the episodes are also about dragons, Elona is not unless Kralkatorrik is no longer in the desert and has moved to Elona.

Im refering to the t4 mechanic you know the one that npc will spawn to stomp you right after you get downed. For the longest time they just spaw look at you get all shy and despawn.
When they used to do their thing it was nice you have 1 mlre thing to pay attention to “cc them or ress fast enough”.
Even the downed person had a way to deal with them (well, except mesmers coz rng some times).
So yeah if thats a bug fix it, if that was on purpose then again fix it…
I dought that a chrono with quickness on 5 ppl gives more than 20-25 k dps. But still, quickness is a unique effect. An effect worth its own spec tbh who says they cant have a new spec for lets say guard be supporty deal more personal dmg thanks to the lack of alacrity while pulsing out quickness. Values will be the same between the specs for balance’s sake and bam no more chronos.
I think the breakeven is higher than that, but it varies for every composition and changes based on how cooldown-limited a class is that is paired with the Chronomancer. Chronomancers also bring other utility like Distortion-share that prevents the DPS classes from interrupting DPS rotations, and while that’s hard to put a number to is pretty significant in itself.
I do agree that the role of a quickness generator could certainly be usurped by a future elite spec, but Chronomancer is pretty awesome overall. Let’s also not forget that this discussion is entirely theoretical, anyway, because Chronomancers provide Alacrity uptime which pushes their value even higher.
Distort should honestly be reworked skills like this break encounters and just make balancing harder.
No, distort is fine, as it is, thank you. It is not game breaking skill, because while you can indeed ignore mechanics by using it, it takes way above your avarage mesmer to handle that right, while upkeeping perma quickness/alacrity. Your avrage pug mesmer barely manages to put above 30% quickness and alacrity, let alone to know how and when to use distortion share properly. Also while the skill is very powerful it comes with high risk of wiping your entire team if you mess it up. (Dont forget you give just a 1s of distortion share on your squad, which leaves very little room for error). I dont see nothing wrong of having high risk/high reward type of skill at our disposal, which also makes us mesmer mains more then just quickness/alacrity bots.
Raids and tier 4 fractals are not for your average mesmer then. I also never said i dislike high risk high reward skills amd playstyle. Just goving the trait that shares distort a 60 sec icd should do the trick.

We are going to Orr forst and foremost. After the ep is out we have played it we can discuss the possibilities. The leaks did not say anything about cantha but this is a really and i mean REALLY Asian looking boat. I hope anet didnt mess that up.

Well yeah, the game is 5 years old and it wont get younger it will also not get prettier. Now, dont get me wrong in terms of asthetics and map design anet has my heart, but the game manages to look old with outdated textures, models and pretty bad post processing option.
I believe its a fair arguement that a visual or graphical update will be a good thing for the game as it gets older and newer games come out. And in the mmo industry good long term income is the lifeblood.
Anet be like “sure, cya in a year when its ready” or we could have it as an outfit in a week.

Actually, no. If we use the real life comparison of receiving a sum of money for an extended period of time, it can be viewed as a source of income. It’s something people have come to depend on and that dependence is a valid argument. Changing the source and taking away the monetary benefit would mean messing with people’s income and that is very much a valid reason to raise objections to the change in real life. That’s not to say people will and need to be compensated, but raising objections is a very natural and understandable thing to do in such a situation. Usually the entitlement comes from those who did not depend on the benefit in the first place and therefore don’t mind if it’s there or not.
As it is I’ll probably get used to the diminished node farming results and it’ll turn into one of those “the good old days” things. All I know is that I haven’t had the option to farm a single node a second time for 1, 2 and sometimes even 3 extra strikes, which was a regular occurence before they removed the buff.
The way I see it, they removed a buff that was in effect in WvW and PvE. They added compensation when playing WvW, but not for PvE. If it isn’t meant for PvE then they shouldn’t have put the effect there in the first place, so that’s not a valid argument anymore. In my opinion PvE should’ve had their own compensation. That, to me, is just simple logic. I know that WvW hasn’t received love or updates for a long time, but that doesn’t mean others have to “suffer” for it.
It’s still something that you didn’t earn. Whether someone depends on it or not doesn’t change that. The benefits of the power of the mists is also not the same as the benefits that those who less fortunate receive in order to get by. You’re comparing two different things.

Explain to me the logic of putting an added PvE effect to something’s solely meant for WvW. It’s not as if that happened by accident. And I’m not saying PvE should just be given something free of charge. They could’ve added something that’s entirely unrelated to WvW, a buff that PvE players had to work for themselves so they at least could benefit from a system that has been there for a long time, but without having to rely on other game modes for it. It’s not the fault of PvE players that they could benefit from Power of the Mists. That was a completely intended effect ANet added to it. They had 1 system with 2 effects. They removed the system but only compensated for 1 effect. In principle this makes no sense.
Like I said, personally I’ll get used to it and I won’t stop farming nodes because this has changed (I still need the materials, after all, regardless of any of this). But I can very much understand why people object to it. And within the logic described above and the fact that it should be earned and not given, I don’t see the entitlement here.

Nobody is paying anything here. The buff was meaningless if you didnt go in wvw to benefot from ot. Im glad they removed it and instead buffed wvw rewards.
Idk but the existance of things that benefit you while you dont play a specific gamemode are silly. I would be ok for a “in wvw” only effect with each “big wvw update”
Make stuff a rapid succession of smaller hits and aegis is no longer a “i can negate all the dmg”. Damage reduction is fine, too, but then it should probably be protection. I’m strictly against adding a kittenload of unique effects to the game that will just screw up balance, especially when it’s added to only a single class.
Yeah thats the thing blocks are 1 instance of dmg and they are quite boring. Tbh class effects and not boons would be easier to balance because they wouldnt be affected by boon durr. And tbh the combat could use less boons perma upkeeping boons makes encounters boring.
