The final boss event is at the end of a 4 event chain, so when you say “it hasn’t started” it might simply mean that one of the earlier events hasn’t been completed yet. Camping at the final boss location and waiting for the event to start won’t do anything unless other players are running the other events.

The tool tip for the second tier of the Cannon Mastery and Ballista Mastery abilities shows the wrong percent increase. The tool tip for both of these should say that it increases damage by 25%
The limit is the same for every team on a map. So if the limit for any team is X then the map limit is 3X. Make sense?

Aaron Coberly, Lead Character ArtistHey everyone, this is Aaron Coberly, the Lead Character Artist here on Guild Wars 2. I can see that there are a lot of strong feelings about the design decisions for Rox so I wanted to come on and set the record straight. The goal with Rox was to expand the charr’s visual options. She is a young charr so we thought it would be a good opportunity to introduce the cute kitty cat end of the spectrum. This isn’t a change of direction but an expansion of the race. Our goal is to add more variety to all of the races over time and we saw this as a good opportunity to do this with the female charr. The charr are a feline race, which gives us a lot of options—from the grizzled matronly lioness to the strong puma and even the cute house cat. We don’t want to limit our options to just one section of the feline genus. Our designs are inspired by all the feline variety that exists in nature.
Further on down the road, it does mean that if we introduce new faces into character creation, they will include a broader range. Does that mean that this particular face will be in there? No, because she is a main character, but there could be a cute kitty cat style face.

Just got this for the first time last night. I upgraded my system and updated some firmwares but it seemed fine before did any of that. I tried almost everything I can think of to fix it. Lowered the volume, selected different audio sources, changed video drivers, rebooted and reloaded the game countless times.
Was this before or after the update? We tried another potential fix for this issue with the update, so the timing makes a difference.

Surveying forums leads to massive biases including Sample Bias and Response Bias. In this case there are at least 3 other biases not being accounted for off the top of my head.

Here are some answers for you:
1. We don’t release this number but this answer can be derived from the answer to your second question. i.e. total players = map cap * 4
2. There is a per-map player limit but we don’t release this number either, though it’s possible to infer from observation. This is especially true now that culling is gone.
3. The per-map player limit is also per-team. Each team has an independent limit and players from one team cannot ever prevent players from the other teams from entering a map.
I’m sure that’s more cryptic than you’d like but that’s the information I can release.

That clause also covers them charging for an expansion later on if they go that route.
Expansions generally do have a cost. Added content or features generally do not. We charged for Factions, Nightfall, and Eye of the North. Nothing new there. I don’t know that the clause is specifically addressing expansion, but I do know it’s been around forever… and causes someone to get concerned every time we update the UA, even though we don’t add or change that section.

You may transfer after the one-week transfer restriction has expired. I do not know if the transfer will be free of a gem cost or not. That depends on when you are eligible to make the transfer and whether the free transfer option is still available.

Heimdall, thank you for voicing your concerns with sound effects. While the Mesmer skill, Spatial Surge, still needs to be adjusted to be more enjoyable, other issues that you’ve brought up have been addressed in recent patches.
Specifically, sylvari females making high pitched noise when getting struck should no longer be happening—this was a corrupted sound file that has since been repaired.
Also, several Necromancer skills, including Staff skills, have had their sounds adjusted.
Hopefully you’ll no longer have to avoid playing the characters that you’d otherwise have enjoyed playing!
If you have purchased before, then I know you’re aware of the process. I do wonder, though, if you might need to click the PayPal icon to let the system know you want to select that payment method.
Speaking of PayPal, there’s a known display issue where an incorrect price shows on the website, but is corrected once one gets to the PayPal site. Of course, that’s the problem for you — you’re not getting there.

The sounds for this weapon were increased on a global level with the latest patch, but a client-side only change, such as a slider which only affects this weapon or weapons like it (there are scant few), is a much, much larger change that will require a lot of work.
However, it may yet be addressed in a future update.
Also, as this has been an ongoing issue, I figured I should mention that Necromancer skill sounds were adjusted with the latest patch, and hopefully they are much more enjoyable to listen to overall.

Hi Nitsujin I took a look at the reports you’ve provided and nothing in particular stands out to me. It wouldn’t hurt to perform an Msconfig to rule out any background applications, however, the crashlog you provided still shows your old system specs which is kind of odd.
I would highly recommend creating a Technical Support ticket so that we can better assist you one on one and get some more in depth info in regards to your hardware just to make sure everything checks out okay. The sticky below should detail contacting support:

There’s a couple reasons we tend not to put certain things like exploits into patch notes. I’ll go into them a bit
1. We don’t want to highlight a spot where an exploit existed, since people who would have never found the spot then go and try to find a way around our fix, or can glean something from it that inspires them to try similar things elsewhere.
2. In terms of localization of patch note text into different languages, editing, and writing the patch note up, it costs money and time for multiple people. Dedicating resources to explain we closed a particular exploit just isn’t worth the time/resources for every single one, so we’re okay with cutting it from the notes, especially if we have a lot of patch notes that are much more valuable to disseminate out, like Engineer changes and other such things.
We just decided not to put time and energy into a patch note for this particular exploit. Hope that clears things up a bit.
Personally, I don’t consider closing an exploit a “nerf”. I consider it closing a bug that led to player abuse.

Hi Terror Of Death – Players are allowed the use of proxy services to improve their connection, however, please understand that these are not supported by NCSOFT or ArenaNet and so use of them is at your own discretion.
I believe most proxy services will offer a free trial so that you can test them out and see which works best for you but we’re unable to offer any specific recommendations.

So I have spent the better part of an hour trying to log on. I would click log on in the game client and wait for the email but it would never send. So I came to the website here looking for answers or solutions. Try to log on to the website and it wants me to do the same thing. Obviously this is an issue as it isn’t giving me the email to authenticate anyways. After about 5 more tries i finally get an email. Was there server issues or something else wrong here?
Also while I was searching for a solution I found a place on the website that stated I could recover info if I was unable to use the authentication. But it requires my serial number. I bought the game online and apparently have lost the serial number. Is it possible to recover the number in case future issues arise?

The section you mention has been in the UA since Guild Wars was released in 2005. In my opinion, you are not eligible for a refund for an unchanged UA.

There are some known issues of sounds being unusually quieter than others with surround sound being the culprit, and they have always proven solvable via changing the configuration on the end-user side. However, I do not have a guide for troubleshooting the particular problems people are having.
If a surround sound system is suspected to be the culprit, I suggest temporarily substituting your surround sound for a stereo system (either two-speakers, or a pair of headphones) and, after properly setting that, checking the game sounds to find out of the mix is any better. If so, then your surround sound setup might not be mixing the surround sound channels properly and could need some adjusting.
You were not blocked for the Torry Name. You were blocked for an overtly offensive name (crude sexual terms) in late January. And that was the warning you ask for now. You then chose several character names that are offensive.
If someone has a question about Jigga, it was pointed out to me that it’s an abbreviation for an extremely racist term and is not at all acceptable in our game.
Your characters must be renamed. Your display name will be changed. And you will serve the suspension because you have chosen four offensive names. You were not suspended because someone reported you. You were suspended because you chose offensive names.

- Wait your time out.
- Rename your characters.
- For future names: Choose wisely.

No, the upgrades do not transfer from server to server.

And while I understand it’s your opinion, CaptaiSpiff, you should be aware that some companies charge $50 for a server transfer. I guess this matter crosses the spectrum when you consider the big picture and all games.

If this issue is still occurring for you, please submit a Customer Support ticket. We sometimes see rare issues such as this when a new patch is deployed, however they usually work themselves out within an hour or two.
Something you can try is clearing your GW2 cache from your temp files.
Try typing temp in your OS folder window, or in the Start Menu search field.
Then delete any GW2 cache folders.
If this doesn’t help, submit a Customer Support ticket and we’ll do everything we can to help you.
Please keep in mind that world populations change frequently. As people move to a medium-population world, it may become a high-population world, at which time the free transfer offer is no longer valid.
To take advantage of the free world transfer offer, please review in the game for a current medium-population world, and select your choice from that list.
Also please note that there is a restriction of one world transfer in a seven-day period.
Update: We apologize that our Free World Transfer FAQ was a bit confusing. It listed certain worlds that were at medium population at the time of publication. We will be amending the FAQ to remove a world list, since populations are too fluid to accurately provide such information on the website.

Hi there, Yalora. Thanks for taking the time to give us some feedback about your experience with the Greatsaw. We’re aware that you experience the sounds of your Greatsaw far quieter than anyone else who has made contact about this issue, and that still needs a bit of troubleshooting. It will be looked into for a future release.
However, the sounds of this weapons will not be increased any further on a global level, as it is now quite audible under any normal circumstances.
I am so very sorry that you received unwanted emails from us. I understand how irritating that can be! This is a situation that we need to — indeed must — address for you and for others who do not choose to receive email from our company.

There are two armor vendors, one has the level 80 sets and the other has all the lower level sets. You are looking for the Armor Master [Armorsmith] NPC for the level 80 set.
Sorry about that, I forgot it in the update notes, but the adjustment to the nobles at the start should be on Live.
Once you complete the Rox — The Hatchery achievement, you can return and the war council will no longer be in session unless you talk to the recap NPC.
