In organized groups, obviously. Full zerk with Decimate Defenses puts you at over 100% crit chance, and fury is just even more wasted stats. I often hear people say that valk (with zerk trinkets) is acceptable, but zerk is better, but what is the actual benefit of full zerk over that, when the only stat difference is wasted crit vs extra health? Is it just for that one or two attacks at the start of the fight when vuln isn’t capped? you don’t even need Death Perception to hit 100%, zerk trinkets and fury with DD is more than enough.

why not make it so that condis can’t bring the hp under 1hp? that way the whole problem would be circumvented and you would truly need to lasthit it to get the kill.
Then conditions lose one of their main benefits, which is that they keep ticking when you’re not attacking.
I think the only real fair way to fix it would be to give it to whichever team did the most condition damage on the last tick. At first I thought splitting the points between the teams would be the best way, but then I realized that could be cheesed by just applying a single bleed or something to ensure neither team ever got an advantage from it. So the best way would be to total the damage dealt in the killing tick, then give the kill to whoever dealt the most damage in that larger lump of damage.
If I were in charge, here
7) Dagger 4 now provides 2% lifeforce for each condition transferred to an enemy.
This needs a rephrase: “Dagger 4 now provides 2% lifeforce for each stack of conditions transferred to an enemy”. If I transfer 25 vuln I would receive 50% life force with your version.
I think your phrasing is even more confusing…
25 Vulnerability Stacks and 2 Bleeding stacks.
2 conditions total versus 27 stacks of condition total.
I think the original phrasing was fine.
The original phrasing is certainly not fine, 25 vulns = 25 conditions. In hindsight mine is not much better (since you have both the stack as the total and the stacks as the individual condition). Perhaps something like: “2% life force for each type of condition transferred”?
Consume Conditions
Feast on your conditions, gaining health for each one consumed. You become vulnerable.
Healing Healing: 5,240 (1.0)?
Healing Heal per condition: 724 (0.1)?
Damage and condition damage taken are increased; stacks intensity.5 Self Vulnerability (4s): 5% Incoming Damage, 5% Incoming Condition Damage
Consuming a full stack of 25 vuln does not heal you for 23340 health. OP’s wording is exactly the same as this skill that no one seems to be hopelessly confused by.
I have no idea what you’re talking about, OP. Take a deep breath, step away from the computer for an hour, and come back when you’re ready to talk in such a manner to communicate thoughts and ideas.
As I so far have 3 ebony orbs and no agates that I know of, I do hope the stats swap on them. But it will be a delicate juggling act to make sure people who have been building up needed mats for their desired stats don’t suddenly have a pile of things no longer useful for them.
Introduce a trader for a few weeks that will exchange the two.
My only complaint about the Mordrem Snipers is that they always shout “I’ll pin them down, you take them out!” And then the sniper takes me out while the other mordrem are keeping me occupied.
Unless this is intentional, and they engage in psychological warfare while they fight.

“It never ends!”
“Tylbalt?! Mordremoth, you’ll pay for this!”
That’s when it got personal.
Yeah i wasnt talking about WvW.
And of course you wont see the issue as much. You just stated your base crit with gear is 56%.
56+50 = 106%. So you will probably only see rare issues on lvl 83/84 mobs.
Pretty sure SW VW bosses are all 84. Never see a non crit, probably because maintaining 25 vuln on beekeeper is easier than easy should be. :P
Maintaining 25 vuln anywhere in pve is easier than it should be. I think the only classes that can’t effortlessly maintain 15-25 stacks of vuln are mesmer, guardian, and some ele specs. I really wish it were harder, so keeping up vuln would be as valuable and desired as keeping up party might.
Actually, she’s clearly bloody and bruised in that cutscene.
Well, yes, but let’s disregard that too and get back to complaining, shall we?
So, like, am I remembering things wrong, or was she stabbed in the gut by Faolain?
After suffering through an airship crash, being abducted by Mordrem, trapped in thorns, starved and dehydrated for days, disarmed, and stabbed in the gut by an arm sized thorn, I don’t think anyone would be in very good fighting shape.
Eir was indeed stabbed in the side with a large thorn by Faolin.
I have just finished playing that story again myself on my 5th?, 6th? toon and just wanted to clarify one of the key points that people had raised.
Eir does say that they have not had food or water for days, so that leaves that element open to interpretation and personally percieve that as 2-3 days since the crash.
I picture something like this happening in the mists shortly after:
Eir wanders through the grey void
Eir: Spirits? I don’t understand. Why wasn’t I able to call upon the change? Why did you leave me too weak to fight?
Eir: Wolf? Bear? Have you abandoned me?
A Voice: No, Eir. They did not abandon you.
Raven appears before her, gliding down out of the mists.
Raven: I am the one that prevented you from changing.
Eir: Raven? I… I respect your wisdom, but I do not understand. Why?
Raven: Eir, you were weak and injured. Had you survived the fight, you would have been of no use to your allies.
Raven: Your son would have abandoned his own quest to see you safely home. He would not be there for them when he is needed.
Eir: And with me dead?
Raven: He will mourn, and then he will press on in your memory. With his aid, many more will be saved.
Eir nodded, understanding.
Eir: My one life for many. That is a good death. Owl would be proud.
Raven bowed his head at the mention of the lost Spirit.
Raven: Yes. Owl would be proud.
That is a wonderful interpretation of how Eir might have communicated with the Spirits after her death, sadly it still doesn’t address the manner in which she died which is a key element to how I feel Eir has been treated.
Her death, however harsh and sad I can accept, for the story, for Braham, for Druids / Dragonhunters, even for the future of Tyria.
The manner in which her death occurred though, is ultimately tragic and I feel degrades Eir as a character and as a Norn.
The debate over how well Eir might have survived a crash, lack of food and water and being stabbed could undoubtedly be debated and if it was scientifically possible to do so accurately on specific details within a game, let alone a fantasy based one, then I would be all for it, but in doing so it only detracts from my original reason for posting and in my view detracts from the rich Lore that the game has.
Eir still had the strength to walk and she could have rolled away from the Vinetooth’s tail attack, even transformed in to the Spirit of Wolf. Her fate need not have changed, just the manner of her passing.
Eir was a Legend in and of her own right and she deserved a Norn’s end and a chance to go out with a fight, to die with honor and to face the spirits proud with songs sung by the Skalds of the legend she had created for herself, a legend that would not only inspire her son Braham but one that would inspire future generations from all the races.
tl;dr: don’t care that she was heavily wounded and weak, she should have been a kitten anyway?
So, like, am I remembering things wrong, or was she stabbed in the gut by Faolain?
After suffering through an airship crash, being abducted by Mordrem, trapped in thorns, starved and dehydrated for days, disarmed, and stabbed in the gut by an arm sized thorn, I don’t think anyone would be in very good fighting shape.
For the Inky Blackness achievement in the collection, it points you to Sloven Pitch in Frostgorge Sound, when the Sloven Pitch is actually in Fireheart Rise. Similarly, the Coil’s Gloom achievement points you to Lair of the Coil in Mount Maelstrom, when the area is actually in Timberline Falls.
Legendary crafting, just missed the mark

Uhm yes it is since 2 of the crafts cant create greatswords why should they be able to create the legendary greatsword? Its like going to a chef to fix your car since its a catering truck.
Yeah, those guys are such morons for assuming the game isn’t explicitly lying to them.
Nope, it’s random. Usually they give 3, but there’s a chance, probably around 20%, to give 25 instead.
It’s just taken for the vuln. The attack already pierces.
It’s somehow bugged and incorrectly displaying crafting professions that can’t use it.
I had a bug in the opposite direction, I had 2 veterans and 3 little chak still alive when I got completion for killing all of them
Nerf dagger plox
The problem with pulling random villains from GW1 to serve as GW2 villains is that all the GW1 ones were human focused. Why would the Charr care about the White Mantle? Have they ever interacted at all? They certainly never interacted with any Asura, Norn, or Sylvari. To 80% of the playable races, the White Mantle are just some forgettable combination of bandits and cultists.
And we already had an Anti-Pact, with Scarlet’s armies. Much like the Pact, her armies were cobbled together from various factions that usually opposed each other but worked together for a greater goal.
EDIT: and we also know how a Mursaat vs Elder Dragon fight would go. They already fought, and the Mursaat lost.

[Spoiler]HoT Story Ending weapon reward...
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Captain Unusual.9163
I’m expecting that it’ll be used as a first tier precursor for a new legendary sword, maybe even a choice between a sword and greatsword.
Has anyone found any? I’ve opened probably 80 chests hoping to get some, but found none.
Whenever you saw someone with fractal weapons or a fractal backpiece, you knew exactly how they got it.
By being lucky and getting the specific skin drop they were hoping for?
Or, y’know, they’ll fix the bug. Which they’ve stated they are actively working on doing.
But you’re right, you’ll probably be locked out forever.
You lose damage but gain survivability… it’s up to you if you want to make that trade but it seems grossly unnecessary.
Same Power, still 100% crit chance, same or higher ferocity, where’s the damage loss?
I personally would never go full valk cuz its such a huge dps loss, but meh whatever works.
Where does the huge dps loss come from? You don’t give up any crit or ferocity for it, the only thing is that is forces you to take Decimate Defenses, but the other two traits in that tier aren’t even that good.
You need to finish crafting the tier 1 weapons before you can buy the tier 2 book for that weapon.
This is how you get bladed armor chest!

Can confirm it drops from Tier 4 Verdant Brink, just got one from a successful night time map.
Gonna need a picture of that.
Have you considered dropping SR in favor of Death Magic, to turn all that toughness into extra power?
Has anyone actually confirmed that it comes from the VB meta chain? Last I knew that was pure speculation, and no one had gotten it at all.
The reason for HoT's story being so short

Length in a story is a massively overvalued factor in RPGs.
Lies!!
(says the writer)
I’m on the boss battle and going wait, this is it? I need a ton more info about this new world and we’re discovering.
I’m also wondering how the length comapares to the orr endgame length, and that had two story lines. I’m thinking we’re getting the massive group events instead of Story to support the pact.
I feel they could have done a lot more but kept it to the base bones.
Disclaimer, I play for the story, not the mmo part.
Yeah, the story ends just after where you are, though I advise you not to wait, as the last instance is fantastic. It’s way shorter than the base game, probably overall about the length of the Orr missions, though I suppose that makes sense, as we’ve already become the pact commander and assembled our armies.

Length in a story is a massively overvalued factor in RPGs.
It’s not so much that it was short, but that it introduced a bunch of plot elements but didn’t really go anywhere with most of them.
The game has been on for less than a week. Is it that bad that you haven’t “yet” gotten one of the few new armors released?
You do realize it will take some time before the next new armors are released, so a-net have to make sure not everyone gets it immediately!
The problem is that, in those few days, players have collectively put in millions of hours of playtime in just that map, and if the item is an RNG based drop, then for any individual person, it will take them millions of hours to get it.
That’s actually what leads me to think it’s not an RNG drop, and it’s unobtainable due to some mistake, or it’s a drop from one of the bosses that no one ever does.
No, it’s a challenge that requires having a chronomancer with aoe alacrity to help you pass the test. also you need mango pie or some other type of food that grants health regen that isn’t stopped by the bacon. it’s arbitrary, horrible and needs to be replaced because it does nothing good by requiring a specific elite spec with a specific trait to pass. you also can’t cast any of your own skills, so you need another person to do it for you (which i’ve personally done by standing near the location to help players.)
Or, y’know, you can use the half dozen or so adrenal mushrooms around the area to refresh your heal skill, like it was meant to be done.

The story continues through Living Story updates and raids, the first of which we know we’ll be getting in a few weeks. So I imagine that the base story was rather short because it’s meant to be done quickly, in order to let everyone continue it as raids and other updates come very soon.
I guess necromancers need to live in their own instances apart from the rest of the game, not being able to support or receive support
I’m fairly confident that boons will still apply their effects to necromancers even if this trait is not equipped.
Have you considered allowing the Regeneration boon to heal us through Shroud, so, you know, all boons will still apply their effects to necromancers?
My guy. The Inventor Sunglasses are temporary until the Grenth Hood comes back.
Have you considered making them not temporary?
I wish these things dropped physical trophies, so I could at least make a big pile of bugged events in my inventory.
Necromancer
Reaper—Blighter’s Boon: This trait now only procs for boons you apply to yourself. Increased healing level multiplier by 25%, increased healing attribute multiplier by 330%.
Blighter’s Boon now only triggers off of self-applied boons, but heals for significantly more. Seems fair to me, I think. A Herald or Warrior shouldn’t be instantly giving us full life force and healing forever.
(edited by Captain Unusual.9163)
I was really, really hoping the Reaper hood would look good on Charr. I just wanted one hood that does.
All you non-charr in here make me sad.
It’s not back, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be brought back- I’m hoping they’ll make it as difficult as it was to earn when it was available, Like the requirement should be X amount of ranked wins in tournamet. Then it would be fair, it’d be annoying & disheartening to find out ANY person can get it. This community is known for it’s QQing.
It was nothing special to get when it was available, it only became valued and famous after the wardrobe change because it just happened to fall through the cracks.
No, the tribal set has always been visible in the wardrobe preview, OP just never noticed.
Unless it has been patched (which I doubt b/c the coding), Rune of the Ranger has always worked on all AI including elementals, minions, and clones/phantasms. In fact it was a Meta rune for Mesmer’s back in the ‘Phantasms’ build.
Why isn’t it anymore? Don’t mesmers usually have at least one illusion of some sort up when they’re trying to deal damage?
You just need to wait for the vizers chest even to respawn. The wait sucks but there’s no bug.
How long does that take? I’ve waited over an hour and no event.
Has anyone gotten the chest in the vizier’s tower? I’ve gone there on three characters, one that had already completed it and two that had not, and the chest was open and unable to be interacted with on all three.
It looks awful.
And you can preview it in-game at any bank, or by looking at the master reaper achievement.
Yes, but only against that target.
Elite Specializations & Hero Point Feedback [Merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

1.) It just doesn’t make sense to punish the more casual players this way
No one expected the Elite Specializations to be our reward for finishing Heart of Thorns, we expected to be able to play Heart of Thorns with them… for players who don’t have the 200+ points banked from core game map completion, they will have to wait until they are about 70% into the game to have enough unlocked to make a viable build(70% into Heart of Thorns, 3 maps with 400 hero points. about 133 hero points per map, map unlock likely dependent on mastery unlock so expect layered grind).
So, uh, source for these numbers? We know that each elite spec needs 400 points, and…that’s the only number you got correct that we know. There’s 4 maps, not 3, and we have no idea how many hero points there will be total. Are you assuming that there’s exactly 400 points in the jungle? Though considering that you don’t even know how many maps HoT is shipping with, I doubt any of your other assumptions are any better.
Maybe they are still fine tuning it? Maybe it will be ready Friday and isn’t ready right now? Sheesh.
thats unacceptable.
What’re you gonna do about it?
