We’re trying to stress test, things that put stress on the servers are encouraged. We would also like you to play as you would on day one. We are looking for the performance issues that Gaile talked about in the initial post, but if a bunch of players want to get creative I’m the last person to tell them not to!
But again, as Gaile said, be prepared performance issues, but as this is a stress test, lets stress things.
If you run into bugs or weirdness, take into account that we are doing a stress test, but you can always use /bug in game. We have people who look at those reports on a regular basis.

Please keep doing the /bug reports in game, and when you do give us a description of what you’re seeing, sometimes it’s not obvious, especially if we’re on different settings. We have someone who goes through all of them reported from the 64-bit client daily and they’re tons of help.
As Jon asked if you can post your specs and settings when you give us screenshots it would be a tremendous help. We have various machines with different specs and on different versions of the OS so matching what you have will help us track down the bugs.
We are working diligently to fix things as quickly as we can. Look to release notes for future releases for the list of fixed bugs.
We know performance isn’t ideal and the long loading time is something we haven’t seen in-house, so I’m super interested in the specs of anyone who is experiencing that issue.
Again you all are great, keep the bugs coming in!
I’m also having strange texturing/coloration on one (and only one) of my characters. Changing graphics settings, rebooting the client, and even loading the character/other characters doesn’t seem to fix it. The odd-coloration is consistent, though (it always looks the same). I tried to submit a bug report, but it said “Error producing screenshot.”
Otherwise, the graphics look so beautiful on 64-bit!
This is happening to one of my characters too, I’ll add your screenshot to the existing bug. We’ve run into some oddly manifesting graphical issues throughout this process, for example, you may notice things are blue sometimes (another bug we’re working on). Keep taking screen shots and posting them here!

As far as ‘what can I test’, test all of the things! And as that isn’t really helpful, let us know if you had any features in the 32-bit client that you miss in the 64. For example, we added some gesture functionality recently, and we know that CMD-Enter doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do yet, we are planning on adding that.
This has been a long haul and we are all so happy to have you all help us finish this project. Please be patient with us as we fix things. All of our fixes should be in release notes, so you should know what to expect from any given release.
Use /bug in-game for bugs that are at a specific location, we search by OS and bitness so we’ll know it’s a Mac 64 bit client bug. Those reports give us information we can’t get any other way on live.
Most of all, just play and have fun! Let us know what you think, and even if we don’t respond to each post or bug, we are reading this thread and others like it. We are verifying and reproducing bugs and sending them off to the team for fixing. Like the blog post said, we need your help!

Hey everyone, we are looking into this but I need something from all of you. While you’re in game when this is happening can you enter a /bug and tell us that it is the 1080 card shadow issue? That gives us more information that will help us track things down. I will search for ‘1080 card shadow’ in those reports and pull out the info for the Graphics team.

I spoke to a few people and it looks like this is a problem with the beta version of Windows. I"m glad you found a work around, for anyone else reading some other of our customers also were able to pop into windowed mode (Alt+Enter) and set his refresh rate of his game to 144Hz, the max allowed by his monitor, and was able to run with no further issues.

Please open a CS ticket, all the PM’s were doing was the same process but delayed as I had to then send the names over. Opening a CS ticket will make the process much smoother and faster.

Where are you that you’re not being logged out? I tried it in WvW and got kicked, and the engineer just tried it in open game
We do know about this and have a bug assigned to an engineer to look at the issue.
Just reproed this with German text, you guys are awesome and tons of help! That narrowed everything down dramatically.
Did anyone get this crash who has never switched their account to German?
I just tried and it didn’t happen, which means it’s not something obvious, that would be too easy. Can you and anyone you talk to please put notes into the crash pop up? All of the information you can give is useful.
I’ll follow up on the crash tomorrow morning. The ‘only sometimes’ crashes are the worst but we take all of them seriously.

It will be native and no we don’t have a release date yet. I work closely with the team that is developing it and they are working really hard, but it’s not a trivial project.
I promise as soon as we have something concrete you guys will know. We know it’s frustrating and we’re working really hard to make it right, not just better.

I"ll be honest, most of our focus when it comes to the Mac is on the new Mac client, which is coming along! I will give this a try and write up a bug, but I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up for a timely fix, the timely fix may just be when the new client is finished.
If nothing else I will make sure this works in the new client, I get to start testing it soon™.
I tried those internally and they worked, I’ll go see if they’re in the trading post on live
edit: they are and I just put them into chat using CTRL click and SHIFT click. They’re both sitting in my inventory.
I tried them again from the trading post and they both linked. I did hit the ‘Your message was suppressed due to excessive messaging’, but changing my zone cleared that.

Are you sending in bug tickets or customer service tickets? I will give it a shot and see what I come up with.
Which items specifically? This works internally with the random ones I picked.

Depending on ANet in-house terminology, Ester could simply mean that an entry has been made on the bug tracking system. Where I used to work, we’d have called that “raising a bug”, not “writing” one – but, different shops sometimes use different terms.
That is it exactly, I ‘write the bug’ and it gets sent over to whoever is going to fix it. I use my leet QA skills to write up the issue in a clear manner so whoever is fixing it knows what the issue actually is and how to reproduce it if needed. At least that is the idea, not all bugs are created equal.
And for real info, the fix for this cleared so you should see it tomorrow. I ran into this issue this weekend and it’s super annoying. I’m happy it got fixed so quickly.
Hehe, I got it. My joke was more like a dev “writing” or “making a bug” like on purpose lol. But glad to hear a fix went live.
Oh yah I"m no dev though, I couldn’t come up with the amazing stories and events that our devs implement.
I tried this earlier at work and just again at home and the setting is being remembered. I’ll touch base with some people tomorrow and see if we can reproduce the issue.

We’re looking into this and are actively working on a fix. We are hopeful that we have a line on what is going on here. We know this can be frustrating.
We are aware of this issue and are looking into a fix. Which doesn’t actually tell you much but that is all I can say until we nail down a fix and get it tested.
I just tried it on live and it stayed unselected, and then selected for me. Maybe make sure you’ve downloaded the whole patch (no streaming) and try again?
Lauren is right, I wasn’t clear. This patch will fix the existing areas that have problems. What we are still looking into is why they are happening and what we can do to prevent new ones in the future. I believe we’ve found it, if so then you’ll never see these again. If not we will keep fixing them and working towards a permanent solution.
Just as an update we are taking this very seriously. We’re implementing some fixes internally and if they work out we’ll push those fixes live. This is an obscure bug so it’s taking time to fix, and we want to be sure it’s squashed for good.

I’m sorry you had to do a work around, we really want everyone to be able to buy things from our sites! I’m trying to reproduce this so we can fix the problem. The “en_IE” doesn’t mean Internet Explorer, it means you were forwarded to our ‘English Europe’ site so if you are not over in Europe there may be a setting or a proxy that makes your browser think you are.
I’ve gone to that specific site with Firefox and I am not seeing the issue at this time. If you get a spare moment could you try again and then PM me with the details?

I just spoke to our CS department and you can get much quicker results on addressing these issues if you put in a support ticket. My concern is that I will miss a response or not log in over the weekend and it will delay any help you can get.
The goal is to get everyone squared away and all of these reports are super helpful, but I want everyone to have their issue resolved quickly, and I may not be the best path.
I’ve sent all of the email addresses that I’ve gotten to CS, so hopefully these issues can be resolved.

Unfortunately I am having trouble getting solid reproduction steps. I see that you logged out in the Heart of the Mists, are there any other specifics that you can think of that led to this bug? Is it every time you log out or just in specific places? Have you noticed a difference at any time? I’ve made a human female with dark skin but so far no matter where I’m logged out I’m still seeing the portrait be correct. Any information you give us will help our Graphics team track this down.
