Guild Wars 2

Ok this is really weird. Got tired of trying to repair so I figured I’d uninstall, and Guild Wars 2 wasn’t in my program uninstall list. I’m trying to reinstall the 32 bit this time.

I managed to get it to 50% this time. I went into the .exe and put " -repair" the 64 bit client seemed to be refreshing itself, but it stopped responding. I’ll keep trying, and keep updating my results here.

Now it won’t even repair.

I do see the bar move on the cast time, but there is definitely no sound.

I’ve had this bug too. No sound comes out, and it looks like the flute isn’t opening any hidden doors.

I’ve been trying to repair it, but after 25% or so the client stops responding. I’ve completely reinstalled it, and I’m on the 64bit client. The game keeps wanting to repair itself. I think it may be due to me dying hundreds of times over and over again in tribulation mode. I also have the infinite coin. I noticed after spending literally hours in SAB I noticed the graphics really started to go. Like the little fish balloon thing was blue and green checkered rather than orange.

Instead of tweaking the CD, and functionality of skills it would be nice if the crashs and connection lose was fixed first, and when things are working fine it would be nice if patch’s where run through VM ware before implemented.

I dunno if this is HoT related, Revenant related, or what, nut my Revenant can’t get into the story instance Trouble at the Roots. Whenever I try to do it I get a long loading screen then loose connection to the server, and my character is lost in limbo, because the game doesn’t know which map my character is in, and I can’t long into any of my characters for 10-15 minutes after.

Ok so i can buy gems just not as many as I wanted to.

So I tried buying gems yesterday, and I got this error message, and I tried it again, and I’m still getting the error message.

It could be all in my head, but I will say this I’m in game right now, and just pulled 8 saffron thread from 1 node, and I did one quest to burn the corpses, and killed maggots and got 17 heavy moldy bags without a party or MF boosts, and I’m really laggy. My MF is a little over 200%, and it seems like I don’t get theses kinds of drops when I buff up past 400%, and I can get it to 400$ easily with a MF boost omnom berry bars, guild buff, guild banners, and a celebratory boost.

I play everyday, and it really seemed like I was getting way better drops. I even pulled a charged quarts from my home node, and I may average 1 of those once a month to every other month. Honestly It seems like luck is never on my side with RNG, so this seemed pretty weird to me.

Just thought I’d mention something I’ve noticed. I’ve been suspicious of it before, but now I’m pretty sure of it. I just tried logging in about 45 minutes ago, and I couldn’t because my connection wasn’t good, so I restarted my comp, and I could log in and play. The lapse from the lag was bad, and it took a while for the map to load which although whenever I first log in this is typical, but this was really long.

I was in Orr, and started doing the usual hunt for mat nodes, and I noticed I was getting 4, or 5 ancient wood logs a node along with foxfire clusters. The same was with Ori nodes with 4 or 5 a pop along with Orbs. I especially noticed with the Saffron threads would kinda rubberband, and I would automatically harvest it twice getting 2 saffron the first, and 1, or 2 the second in one automatic harvest. I was also getting more Heavy Moldy Sacks, and whatnot.

It may not seem like that big a deal, but I got an urge after the lag cleared up-, and my drop rate went back to normal to lower the priority on my CPU, and bottle neck my bandwidth to artificially increase my lag again, but instead I figured I give a notice here.

Rurik really didn’t have to leave Ascalon. He chose to though. I remember doing quests for Adlebern. He really wasn’t that bad a guy at the time, but if you read the book ghosts of Ascalon you meet a ghost who was put to death right before the foefire so he kept his sanity unlike the other ghosts, and he says the loss of his son was a huge blow to him, and the lose of his kingdom drove him over the edge.

So yesterday I ended up in Divinity’s Reach, and someone linked a pole-arm in map chat. I figured it was just a unique name for a special skin, but when I clicked the link to check it out it says it’s not useable by my profession, and I was on my Warrior which can use practically everything with a point on it.

Map chat lite up with talk of new weapons, and skill lines. New class’s fingers crossed like Paragon, or Dervish, and new playable races like the Tengu.

I’ve made some suggestions on here before, and seen them end up in game, but I noticed that the suggestion thread has been put in the archive, and the last topic was posted over 5 months ago, so I figured I’d put it here.

I’m all for those things I’ve mentioned above, but there have also been some things on my mind on a similar note. Specifically two topics. The first is one that I’ve been thinking about recently really nostalgically, because it was in GW’s one, and that’s secondary class’s. Now before anyone loses their minds, and goes off on a Buddhist balance rant. I was thinking that secondary class’s could only be limited to utility skills, AND you don’t get the perks from class traits meaning if your a warrior using engineer potions you can’t get the perk to shorten the cool down, or extend the skill duration. I think it would add to more customization of builds like GW1, and I really personally like this idea as long as I don’t think about touch rangers from GW1.

The second idea I had was race specific class’s. This idea came to me when I was thinking about Tengu being playable, and the Dervish class. I was thinking “wouldn’t it be cool to be a class that no other race could be sporting a unique look, feel , and play style no other race has?”. It also occurred to be that if Dervish was introduced to the game how odd it would be for a Charr to call on Balthazar, or an Asura praise Melandru.

It’s a lot of nice juicy food for thought in my opinion.

I can’t be nice about this anymore, and polite about this anymore. I’m straight up kitten ed off. The new content ranges from a stroll in the park to tear you eyeballs out and play paddle ball with them.

Did Anet hire some noob who just fell off the turnip truck to build extensions on their game or do they just not even care anymore? Seriously, what happened to MY game. That’s right MY game, because it is just as much my game as it is yours. Looking at my account the starting date is 2003. 2003! That’s a decade of dedication to this company! I can’t just up, and pick up a new game that easily. That’s long than a huge percentage of marriages. The thought of having some new guy developing on a very important part of my life is infuriating.To have some dumb rookie fiddling with something this sacred to me is sacrilege. If you think I’m over reacting, and unsympathetic then I say you are no where near as passionate about video games as I am. I’m gonna come right out, and say it. You are a casual gamer. How can things like this not irritate you if otherwise?

Anet has 4 teams working on content. I think it would be a good idea to have a competition to see who can make the more popular content. We can have polls to yay or nay the the content and after each team has cycled through the team with the highest yay percentage gets something nice, something cool. I don’t care what it is just make it extremely tantalizing for them.

The team that comes in last should be given certain incentive to do better. I would agree that firing them would be harsh, so maybe for the next cycle they have to go out in public in Quaggan suits and get the arena team coffee and donuts, and if somebody asks them what they are dressed as they cannot lie. They have to say “I’m a Quaggan.” I for one think they need this walk of shame.

I just remember GW1 Hero’s…and then began my career as a soloer.

I just think Out Manned needs to be buffed for practical combat bonus’s to create incentive to balance server population. Take a que from Aion there Asmo incentive program is awesome, and really does work.

They could try instances in Aion, and try to solo zergs of Elyos as an Asmo on the Israphel server. Asking for hard In GW2 is a joke imo after playing Aion.

I get the feeling there’s been some developers in some of the guilds I’ve run with logging my ideas, and watching me. Like how I started using Reaper of Grenth a day or two before an update, but stopped using it ‘cause i couldn’t use it on the move, and made no mention of it to anyone. Then BAM! Next update they buffed it so you can use it on the move. << >> the Matrix is upon us. Choose wisely which pill you take…Also don’t forget to wear your aluminum hats. it keeps out they’re mind rays.

I would love to be able to say there in content in Guild Wars 2 that is too difficult for me to do.

So far I have only attempted Tier 3 Liadri a hand full of times and I have not come close to beating her. But I think I am up for the challenge and I play to keep trying until the content is removed.

You know what, if it comes to the point that this event is over and I didn’t get the mini because I want not skilled enough to beat her, then I will be happy to admit defeat.

I just really hope Anet doesn’t give into all the whiners when a little bit of cotent that is challenging comes out.

Most of the gauntlet is easy mode, Liadri represents such a small fraction of the content it isn’t even worth typing it out as a percentage and there is a big out cry and casual vs elite wars start.

If you can’t beat Liadri move on and let those of us who want to try keep trying.

Hell I wouldn’t even care if they just gave the mini to everyone to stop the tears and kept the content there for those of us who want to do it.

I hate the mini’s I never display a mini, I would have prefered a title. You think I am spending all this time and effort for a mini? Hell no, I’m doing it for the challenge and the love of the game.

Which is funny ‘cause I just want the mini. I don’t care if somethings challenging when I just want to collecting something neat. A representation that I was there, and participated is enough for me. Sure there’s the Watchknight, but liadri is so much more cool than that.

Some of us have an in game routine. The sooner we get through the event the sooner we can go back to our own little corner of the game, and play. Not all of us get fed up with what’s already been established. Some people play a whole bunch of games, some people pick one game they like get really good at it and do everything in it.

What does that have to do with anything I wrote?

I have things to do, and I don’t like to procrastinate, so I’d like to get it done reap the reward, and go back to fun.

Evan could have won the election, and WP’s price wouldn’t be cut for all the dieing in this event. Just…you know…throwing that out there. As Evan would say to winners “Go ahead gloat a little you deserve it.” A little salt on the wound will actually stop the bleeding too, and I love to feed people there own words which…I do try to watch of myself.

Yea I find it Ironic myself thinking “Phase 2 is probably easier than 1, because I’m not picking up these crystals.” I haven’t made it to phase 2 yet, but I can’t really grind at it since I’m visiting my mom for the weekend, and her internet cuts out at crucial times such as when a legendary boss is about to die and relinquish it’s goods.

Honestly, what is the big deal that some people have with needing the game content to not be accessible to everyone?

It seems as if the same people that are so fond of pointing out that frustrated players don’t need the achievements and/or rewards from certain content are always forgetting that they also don’t need to feel like an uber-special-crystalline-snowflake because they have something that someone else doesn’t.

It also doesn’t need to be so hard.

A big point to make is between Strugar and Chomper, and Liadri there is a huge spike in difficulty that does not coincide with a proportionate scaling system.

The problem is the casual vs the elitism attitude. On the forum you have people complaining it’s too hard because x and y are too hard, while the hardcore guys would reply with something like ‘’would you like to get legendary by finishing the tutorial?’’ so you have two extremities that always argue. Personally I’m not for hardcore content nor too easy, but rather for average content. Take that liandri for instance. If the bugs,tiny frustrations and a her hp in second phase would be cut a bit,it would make things less complicated yet still challenging

I really do agree with this statement. I do look at myself as a very experienced player, and a bit of a hardcore gamer although I’ve dialed back in the last couple years which leaves me conflict as to whether I am or not.

There is one thing I have noticed though, and that is that I’m looked at by a lot of the community in game as an insanely hardcore elitist with no life simply because of what I’ve accumulated over my time playing. With thing such as Liad, or for those that remember that lovely Faster Than Light Achievement I would call hazardous overclocking for my biological system.

I’m getting really tired of people asking for harder content. Nothings ever good enough. If you keep asking for something harder eventually they’re gonna give you something you can’t do.

I’m tired of the hypocrisy, and people complaining just to complain. By hypocrisy I mean the trolls who want it harder, and when it’s hard they complain, but when they finally do it they change they’re tune to “Oh yea I did it. It was no big deal, because I’m awesome.” This event is a pleasant surprise however, because people are humble enough to say “Yea I did it, but I don’t think it was fair.”

It’s the same with people saying there’s no end game content. What exactly do you expect end game content to be if Guild Wars 2 doesn’t have it? Honestly. There’s WvW, there’s legendary’s, there’s SPvP, there’s map completion, there’s exploration, Dungeon Stories, Dungeon Exploration, Jumping Puzzles, guild missions, living Story, I hear rumors of a new expansion which I have expected to happen, because, hey you know, played Guild Wars 1 and all. Living Story is meant to give us something to do while we wait for the big fish. How can people be so short sighted, and so easily forgetful? What can they do to get you to close your noise hole, and make that beautiful sound of silence?

This game is meant for stream line play; really smooth. Your in the wrong genera if you want mind blowing, testosterone over dosing, boot camp.

It’s also annoying with people also not understanding how something small can be wanted so badly, but can’t be gotten. It’s the same reason a guy will look at an outrageously beautiful girl who he thinks is out of his league. Why look if you can’t have it? Because it’s the human condition. It’s part of who we are.

I understand this goes too for the trolls who fuss as well, but all things in moderation. I also like to think people will ignore them, and they will get preoccupied with something shiny. Preferably in a busy street somewhere.

I answered that already. Is 99.99% of the content not enough for you, you have to try to paint the entire game design in a negative light simply because there’s one thing you can’t do?

I’d rather look at it like can’t do, but given enough time I still have hope to do. Like just recently a relatively new guild I’m with really got together just because of something I really wanted and didn’t make any fuss over, and only mentioned once and about a dozen of us went, and did the hydra queen. A lot of us got an achievement that day. I’ve played this game since 3 days before day one because I per-ordered, and just got that achievement.

I completely agree with you man. I have bad OCD. I literally have serious OCD, and my life revolves around this game. I’ve had that exact same thought cross my mind that this is made for someone better than me that I physically cannot get which is such a wonderful thing to think about it, or not. I never finished the Mad Kings Clock Tower in time, and it was a horrid pill to swallow. Sure it’s coming again, but my mind goes to “yea, but that achievement bar probably won’t count for this year.”

I also didn’t do enough snowball fights in Winters Day so I got an unfilled blemish in my achievement tab. A lot of that was in part, because I was bummed about Winter Wonder Land which I didn’t even bother with ‘cause Mad Kings Clock Tower was still bothering me. I gave Winter Wonder Land one shot, and turned away. A lot of times I feel why even bother playing if I can’t get everything? Looking at an account that has everything is very satisfying, and it in no way means most players will leave especially if there’s content always being added.

I actually get anxiety when a lot of these new events pop up ‘cause of a mini I’ll never have, or a title that came and went. Especially with things like Sanctum Sprint where you’ve got to beat so many other players who don’t have a programed difficulty. After I get the achievement, and go back I do great. I own it like a checkmate against a lone king, but the stress beforehand really impairs my playing ability.

You need someone to transfer which happens fairly often. Sometimes whole guilds will transfer.

I rez more often than not, but I GET FREAKING TIRED OF IT! ppl standing in aoe, or using arenas and I watch how quick they die over and over and over again keeping me from getting my rhythm of my current difficulty. Also take off your kitten MF gear if you wanna live longer. I know ppl are mainly using MF cause I take so much freaking aggro with my celestial gear which has enough MF for me plus ppl know they’re squishy ‘cause they stand all bunched up in bottle necked areas waiting for a small hand of some type of bunker to go in and start. Lastly if ppl keep dropping, and the boss is going down fast, and I haven’t even tagged em yet.

I’m not even getting any points for my rifle master, so I doubt there’s any potions for this.

I wouldn’t mind a nerf, but I still think I can beat her. I’m actually more concerned with getting the 8 orbs of light achievement.

I agree! In Fractals, or a dungeon after the chest I have to wait for all that crap to go down before I can leave the instance.

Not all of it shows ether. Sometimes I’ll be walking around with a new exotic I never knew about, until I hit the merchant.

Well they do have Steve Blum for Rytlock, so apparently that had the extra coin to go Strong.

Steve’s been with Guild Wars since Prophecies. I dunno if coin has anything to do with it, or if he’s like Samuel L. Jackson, or Brad Pitt doing films under they’re pay grade, and doing it well.

I have had that conundrum too. Awesome guild, but crappy cape is a iconic GW theme. I personally find it bothersome, because my characters appearance partly depends on what the guild leader wants which for some of those truly wonderful female guild leaders changes fairly frequently. I remember teasing one of my old guild leaders, and she says “If you keep it up I’m gonna make you wear something really embarrassing.” I said “Do it, I’ll just turn my cape off.” She did it and it was surprisingly awesome. Green frog with green design at the bottom, and a maroonish back ground.

Man I miss capes. They could be the next ascended guild back piece.

Imo though the Flameseeker Prophecies is still the best shield. I love mine so much. I rub it, and polish it, and call it shiny.

I haven’t completed it myself, but I’ve heard go GS zerker. I’d use a bow as secondary to get some aoe burning in there too. I’d use food with a percent chance on crit to steal health. Some have a 66% chance I believe. If I’m not mistaken the food should be from Dragon Bash, and dirt cheap. It only last 20 mins I think.

Hobo Tron is awesome! At first I thought it was a get rich quick thing by some crafty Asura at first, but he really did hit rock bottom. It sucks though ‘cause when I talk to him, and he asks for spare change my character says he doesn’t have any.

I chuckled with glee when the Seraph soldier told him to move along the first time, and he floats away a couple meters which is obeying the officer; however he comes back, because it was not disclosed how long he should stay away.

Also (and this is directed toward Scott McGough) Hobo tron was just following the programming on Southsun, just like the golem who’s always harassing the Asurain merchant who has a right to be there, but can’t help arguing from an emotional response from the lack of logic. If I where that Asura I’d find out who the programmer of that golem is and send Mr. Sparkles over there to give the programmer a new, but slightly used behind hat.

It’s why I laugh uncontrollably at bots in Orr.
