2 reasons…4th and 5th character slots, thats why. I reccomend buying 3 more slots and playing one character of each class. Variety isnt a bad thing. So what if some arent “the best”? Thats not the point of a game for fun.
I got a hair style kit in a Lion Chest once, from a key I got from a map completion chest. Glad I saved it.
I dont think GTA 2 has any, but you can jump in it. Could be wrong though.
Well, finding the scales in Frostgorge seems doable without help…due to how large they are. But those teeth in sparkfly? If the whole map worked together, maybe, but they are tiny. Even with the guides I had trouble finding some. Hard to find stuff is fine…Im still mizzing half my explorer and JPs, but they arent dissapearing in 2-5 weeks.
Well, it really depends on what effects it has for people compaired to others. Does it really hurt someone who plays sometimes if someone who plays alot has better armor? For the most part it really doesnt. The only thing that hurts casual sometime players is living story…
The thing is, dailies might “hold back” those who would have the time to play constantly, but that doesn’t necessarily “help” those who don’t have as much time to play, it just punishes those that do.
Hard dailies do hurt casuals though, because if you miss a single day, that’s progress that CANNOT be made up for, it’s lost forever, you’re forever one day behind, being able to save up x7 dailies would make that much more forgiving and would actually be helpful to casuals.
Again casual meaning, players that can’t play a lot.
And repeating again, this isn’t just a change for casual players, but for everyone, even I miss dailies even though I have plenty of time to play, and it’s a sucky feeling. I would much rather be able to save up 2-3 days and pound them all out in one sitting.
As said it works great in other games, don’t let your hipster-esque pride of “WE NEED TO BE DIFFERENT TO BE DIFFERENT” cloud your judgement on a feature that’s simply, superior.
This game isnt as punishing as you make it seem. I usually do all my dailies, but sometimes I miss a day or two, and I dont freak out. Also, when you say dailies, can you clarify what exactly? Cause you cant mean just the daily achievements….a couple less laurels mean nothing.
Well, I have 4 level 80s currently…. and I still havent beaten every dungeon, never beat story yet… (closeish), highest map completion is at 80%, fractal level is 2…
There is tons of stuff to do in this game even at level 80… but you have to be willing to do it. Alot of people are unwilling to try other areas. Never did WvW? Try it. Curious if you will like fractals? Do one….etc.
Gear only matters in high level fractals due to agony. Thats it. Dont let anyone fool you, gear isnt as important as people pretend it is.
GW2 doesnt want to have horror though, and it would seem out of place…plus why should a skilled warrior or powerful necromancer be afraid of the dark?
Scariest thing for me in this game is trying to get from point A to point B alone in WvW….kitten thieves…

The non “genius” Asura are used as manual labor. There are 2 near the Asura start in Metrica (just outside the gate to Rata Sum) who are laborers criticizing the smart Asura.
I say buy 3 more character slots and have one of each proffesion. Its what I did…though now I have 11 slots, so I have some doubles.
Necro is the surviviest class in the game I think…not as squishy as Ele, + Fear to get enemies off of you and ofcourse, Death Shroud, which works wonders. Plus minion meat shields if you want em.
Honestly any job with a 25% speed boost would be worth playing
That would mean mesmer is the only class not worth playing. :p
Guardian has no boost without staff, Engi while technically has a perpetual 33% boost…its tedious and annoying.
I think SAB should be permenant actually. But I hate LS, since it removes content which makes no sense in the grand scheme of things.
I love my necro. My only complaint is when they took away my death shroud parachute…
It will NOT happen. Your race is not a cosmetic thing like armor or hair. Not even the skills, but the story. Your entire story has roots in your race, and will get messed up. That alone is why it will NEVER happen.
Get there sooner. Otherwise you’re out of luck. Sucks that you cant get in…sucks more for people in low pop servers who cant beat Teq on them due to low pop.
People are selfish and greedy it seems. Im sorry that people in smaller servers want a chance to succeed, Im sorry that not everyone has the numbers to feasibly do it, Im sorry that you cant share your worlds.
Elitism is bad. You are word for word what people are reffering to when they use that term.
I never get more than 30 gold…but thats cause I have 3 bank tabs and 11 character slots. Ive earned atleast 100-200 gold total. But I dont farm or anything.
Lack of trinity means I can join any group. Want it? Play something else. Why does everyone want to turn GW2 isnt a different game? Its one thing to want to fix something already in the game, but GW2’s appeal is its differences from other MMOs. Know why most MMOs fail? Cause they are too much the same as WoW. By not being WoW, GW2 stays successful.
Then dont do it, dont get Ascended Gear, and dont think you need it. Cause you dont. Most of my crafting is not very high.
So intelligent! So insightful! Yes! Simply don’t progress in the game! They added this for game progression, their entire “end game” is based on these items. The end game of a company that decided their slogan should be to play the way you want, but ignore that, simply don’t do it!
With this incredible way of thinking, perhaps we’ll never need to implement content again in a way that multiple types of players can access it. Just think of how easy that will make things.
Perhaps next time, the new items can come from Liadri style fights. I’d like that personally, I know I could beat the content. Who cares if a large portion of the player base most likely wouldn’t be able to, right? That’s fair eh?
Refusing to think sure makes things easy.
My point is, people are acting like you NEED these items to succeed in the game, but you dont. People are putting themself though more stress over it instead of enjoying the game and having fun. Having fun is more important than anything in this, a game. I enjoy this game alot more by not fretting over having the best possible gear with the best possible little stat for each thing. I seem to be doing fine enough. Maybe I die a couple more times than others, but its no huge loss.
I understand that. What you need to understand is, not everyone is like you. A lot of people don’t enjoy being sub par players. Many are competitive and wish to progress in the game, which is why this set of gear was put in by the way.
I don’t blame you for not being able to understand that. You’re just a player and by your own admission, not a very good one. I expect developers to know better. The same way they refuse to force PvE players to PvP, they shouldn’t force any player to craft.
One. Stop attacking me as a player. Its dumb. Second, my POINT is do what YOU want to do. Dont do what you dont want to. I do craft sometimes. But I get distracted by doing everything else. The person was complaining of HAVING to craft, but they dont HAVE to. Just like you dont have to attack me personally like you have been.
Most people will stick with what works. We all do it sometimes. Not just this game, but any game.
Then dont do it, dont get Ascended Gear, and dont think you need it. Cause you dont. Most of my crafting is not very high.

I never buy gear. I also get tons of masterwork and fine level items to salvage. I dont see the issue.
There are lots of hidden chests in the game. Once per day per character. They just are rarely anything amazing.
SAB is soloable. World 2 might be a pain by yourself if you’re not good with jumping, though.
I’m great at jumping but I can’t go in SAB. Whether it’s soloable or not is meaningless. As long as it states ‘suggested: 5 players’, it’s group content. I don’t group.
Shooting yourself in the foot is your problem, not ours.
Ya know, there is more to buy than just gear. Like guild letters and that kitty potion.
Tengu are next if any. I would wager all my gold on that. Why? Cause they were origionally going to be playable. They are already set up to be playable. All the other races, well, doing the racial sympathy quests showed how inferior their models are. Tengu look fine though. Id -prefer- Skritt, but like I said, Tengu already have their work done.
Farmers are burning themselves out too…cause they are idiots. I do dailies nearly every day. But I make it fun for me. 40 kills in Ascalon? A good excuse to do map completion there on a lower level character. Plus I love WvW, so thats 2-3 done without any extra effort. The AP leaderboards are dumb. I love collecting achievements…on xbox, on steam, on GW2, but its not to be the top of any leaderboard I assure you.
Maybe people dont notice all the conditions I remove, or realize I just made those 5 enemies run in fear when they were about to finish them. As a Necromancer I focus on supporting groups. If Im alone, Im screwed…unless I run. Necromancers are good at escapes.
Long as they are reasonably attainable for people who actually put time and effort into WvW. Would be a cool way to identify other WvWers outside of it, and a good marketing tactic to get more players in it. But if its as out of reach as the titles or something, then forget it.
Tribulation isn't hard, just tedious?

I cant even get past the first part of the first level…
You need to have the ticket on you to see the lists. Someone told me and I tested it out myself. They are still there, but they should have said so.
Look for items without any listed stats like “power 59, condition dmg 34….etc”
Took me some time to realize, since I thought the gear would have popped off or been more obvious which was which.
Instead of saying dont reward failure, maybe would be better to just make a better event? People complain about things the wrong way sometimes. Just adding 5 minutes more to the event timer alone would have probably been enough.
People who dont like the silly side of GW2 clearly never met Tybalt.
Transmutation stones a great. Long as you complete whole areas and stuff, you will have them up the wazoo. I got nearly 200. It only sucks when you get level 80 gear and have to use special ones that actually are rare/valuable.
Necromancer. Never alone when you can summon friends. I solo, and necro is my main, and I use summons to keep the enemies away while I pelt out range staff attacks. (When I actually am with others, I switch from summons to support skills)
I also find I can escape alot of bad situations. Fear gets people off you, and Death Shroud is great for running away on low HP.
Ranger is alright too, shortbow is a good range attack but quick. I use it like a melee weapon on my ranger, and the pet is a good distraction, but I still say necro over ranger.
Im just glad I got my 4 extra character slots when I did. I remember thinking paying 2-3 gold for 100 gems was outragous.
Sounds like thief is the way to go. They have alot of dodging abilities, as opposed to pressing v/touble tapping. Got range and melee too. Engineer…I didnt enjoy that class until I was level 60+ and after I finally started using the kits. If Flamethrower had a mastery achievement, it would be very full up.
I wouldnt mind it. Mostly so I can give my desert rose I accidentially soulbound to someone else.
Some games merely beating it is reward enough, MMORPGs arent built like that for the most part though.
Indeed, and that is a design flaw, or should I say reliance on using Skinner Box techniques to disguise weak content. That, however, is a completely different topic.
The main thing of MMO’s is the MMO part. It’s the playing with other people, everyone doing their best and working together.
The whole ‘it doesn’t matter if we fail or not’ thing works against this, as well as the whole ‘living world’ thing ANet are trying to do. I mean, how alive is the world if the people living in it are more concerned about shinies?
Im merely arguing that fail rewards should stay in the invasions. I hate Living Story and wish it wouldall be permenant content. I also think the issues coming up here would be better solved in other ways instead of just punishing people. Like making farming not hinder the success rate, increasing success rewards, or maybe increasing the timer as much as a mere 5 more minutes. I dont think removing the fail reward will solve anything and just create more complaints.
Im glad the fail reward is there. I hate feeling like Im doing something for nothing.
So if the reward wasn’t there, you wouldn’t do it?
I mean, what happened to playing for fun? It’s a bit of a contradiction, unless you find playing content you find unfun for loot fun.
Its an RPG. Personally I go for achievements, but the items are nice. But in rpgs with gear and stuff…getting gear and stuff is kinda fun to get. Its how the game is built. Borderlands is another game where you kinda expect that chest at the end. Plus hourly invasions of the same thing, merely completing it gives little reward on its own, as opposed to maybe finishing parts of the story or even a dungeon. Some games merely beating it is reward enough, MMORPGs arent built like that for the most part though.
Im glad the fail reward is there. I hate feeling like Im doing something for nothing.
I use the word work to mean to do something as opposed to the unfun connotation of work. So sue me.
If you hate your stuff, feel free to click destroy on your chests. I like not feeling like Im wasting my time even if we cant beat Scarlet, though Ive only done the invasions 12 times. (Waiting on the last area then Im done)
Then people would complain of doing alot of work for nothing. That is way more unfair. The reward for completing it isnt much better than failing anyways.
Worst logical approach ever……….
A reward is given to those who have actually achieved or completed something. Not to the failures who don’t care to try and achieve.
No reason to try when we can fail and be rewarded for nothing! Yay for American systems!
As a quote from the movie “The Incredibles”:
Bob: " It’s psychotic! They keep creating new ways to celebrate mediocrity, but if someone is genuinely exceptional…"You get the idea.
Its a game for entertainment value. Its not school, not work, not anything of importance beyond having fun. Why do you need to suck the fun out?
This logic could also apply to sporting events, and don’t get me started on the “everyone deserves a trophy argument” it basically take the accomplishment out of victory so to speak.
Sports has two groups of people competing. The invasions is one group of people against the game. Its one thing of winners and losers in PvP get the same exact reward, but this is either everyone gets rewarded, or no one. If the invaders were other players, then maybe failure should not be so rewarded.
Its a game for entertainment value. Its not school, not work, not anything of importance beyond having fun. Why do you need to suck the fun out?
Tell me what every single person in this game finds fun.
I dont know, but I fail to see how taking it away from others by nerfing rewards is better. But in general I find its better to build up weak areas to balance it out rather than nerf the strong ones. I bet most people dont find working hard for nothing fun though.

Its not their fault if he joins mid game. It sucks to join after the safe timer is over, but way before the game is over.
