lose a pip,win 2 pips,lose a pip,lose a pip…………..-
-Go go Espartz.-
I’ll try to make some sense out of this.
Because it was all your fault you…errr…rrr… won.
Ok.
Maybe not.
You cost your team mates a …..no …that doesn’t go here…
Ok.
Because, reasons and you’d never understand anyway.
Yep.
That’s it.
Reasons!
Seems you were out long enough to trigger the debuff, and the system is not programmed to be smart enough so that your participation and the match outcome
can be taken into consideration before applying dishonor.
Forgot to follow up on this.
I got it from the chest on the second attempt.
The only difference of the first attempt, where the part didn’t drop, was that it was the first run of the day and the daily chest was included in the drop list ,so maybe that had something to do with it.
Other than that, all the prerequisites were met for it to drop from the first run.
And I guess I was lucky with getting the parts for the previous weapons I crafted,so easily.
Another thing that probably you have already checked, but do you have the Machined Staff collection open? And is this the first or second Elite staff you are making? (Bo/Yggdrasil). If it’s the second, you should already have credit for the machined staff without having to do it again (and thus not be able to get drops for the collection) and if you don’t have credit that’s where the bug lies.
Collection is unlocked.
It’s the Daredevil staff I’m trying to craft,I have not crafted the Druid staff yet, don’t even haver a Ranger.
I’ll try DS again later, just to be sure.
Are you actively looting the chest? You’re always too far away from it when the event ends, so it never gets picked up by autoloot.
Please gussie I’m not all is vain.
Of course I looted the chest.
The mouth cheat has a 100% drop chance, I’ve never had one out of a pod.
But I just did the mouth meta and it didn’t drop.
Just checked to be sure.
It didn’t drop from the chest.200% participation, succesful meta map, neither the event rewards nor the dragon chest contained it.
(edited by Aenaos.8160)
Ok,something smells fishy here.
I just opened all pods in a finished DS,this included all random pods, all camp pods, and all the monster area pods and still no drop.
Also,I’ve done the DS meta dozens of times and I haven’t got a single part drop from the chest there,I guess because I didn’t have to wait for that.
Usually, after unlocking the collection I got the part from pods relatively easy,as I said in my op,within 5 to 10 pods opened.
Can someone verify that this is indeed in the loot drops and not buged or removed,so
I won’t be wasting my time with the RNG there?
Edit. And it’s not a guaranteed drop from the meta chest either, otherwise I would have gotten it this run.
(edited by Aenaos.8160)
Does this even drop from the pods?
I never had a problem with any of the other specialization weapon parts that drop from noxious pods, usually took 5 to 10 pods, this time I’ve opened 60 and still I got none drop.
Is this even in the loot tables from pods, and if yes what is the reasoning for making it’s drop rate so much smaller than the other weapon parts?
Given the personal story which is different for each race and then it varies depending on your choices especially for the first half of the story I don’t see that happening.
So a smaller EotM?For guilds?
Like a GvG map?
Do you lose pips from a 2v5 game?
We should take the league term lightly.
No league of team sports allows for individual players to join and form teams randomly, and premade teams in the same league.
Team leagues are for teams only.(Captain obvious reporting for duty).
I has been said that if they had separate queues for teams and solo players the wait times would sky rocket.
So of course solo players are in a sense sacrificed for the greater good.
In other words.Working as intended.
Your heroism and selflessness will be remembered always.
The hammer is very strong for a high-sustain bruiser build.
Skill #2, #3, #4, and #5 all help mitigate damage.
Hammer is not an amazing burst weapon. The most effective method to reduce the sustain potential of hammer is to slightly increase the cooldown of skills #2, #3, #4 and #5.
This would be great if they either a) shifted the damage elsewhere on the hammer or b) split the skills between sPvP and PvE. Engis/Scrappers along with many other professions are constantly taking unnecessary nerfs in PvE due to something being too strong in sPvP.
This is most needed.
I’m having a lot of fun on my Scrapper in PvE,but there you need all the oomph to deal with the hordes of mobs.
In PvP you need a lot less powerful classes, and that goes for all professions not just Scrapper.
All the AoE and spam and OPness in the game is great for PvE,but it takes away from the PvP mode.
And when you try to balance for both modes you end up with less fun to play classes in PvE or overpowered classes in PvP.
I had more fun in PvP when the lederbuadeszsz where on.
Now I rarely even play.
P.S Make Yolo Q great again.
Do your swiftness skills affect these?
Actually, I believe the speed of the Ascender toy (and others) is actually faster than running on my engineer even with the movement speed increase trait active.
Be careful.
If this is indeed true, get under cover because the sky is falling!
Seeing how well the “improvements” to some of the other legendaries have been,I’d say let it be.It’s fine.
Also I like the way the quick silver effect varies in colour and brightness according to your surroundings,so to each their own.
A gear manager and a trait line manager where you’ll be able to save gear combos and
trait set ups would be nice.
Many games have this,no reason for GW2 not to,especially with all the variety in gear and traits in the game.
MEGA SPOILER.
IT MIGHT UPSET SOME PLAYERS.I’m sorry to break it into you,but these “toys” are mounts really.
How is the flying carpet any different than the flying carpet in WoW,or the ascender any different than the levitate mount in Rift?Or the broom any different than a speeder in SWTOR*?I know it must be hard to understand.
But there is no Santa(spoiler,sorry)
And there are mounts already in the game.
They just don’t give you a speed buff.
And of course the game didn’t blow up,and the engine allows it.*Ok,it’s easier to build and a bit less advanced technology.
The speeder that is!MEGA SPOILER.

How is the flying carpet in any way similar to the flying carpet in WoW, or the ascender in any way similar to the levitate mount in Rift? Or the broom in any way similar to the speeder in SWTOR*?I know it must be hard to understand.

And of course the game didn’t blow up,and the engine allows it.
Arenanet have officially stated that the engine would not do well with mounts implemented and requiring additional rendering. As long as they do not change that stance I’ll take their word over yours.
Keep trying though. Thousands before you have tried, and thousands will continue to try because there is always this group of players that move on to a different MMO and then want everything changed so it becomes a copy of their old MMO which they had grown bored of.
These are already rendered by the engine, that is why you can see them.
Of course you can play with words, and every time you see a carpet or a broom or a ascender being rendered by the game engine, look the other way and say it isn’t so.
These are items that are rendered by the game engine.
Your character rides on them or they make you character float over the ground.
You activate them by interacting with them in your inventory.
You can dismount(sorry for that inappropriate word) them at will when out of combat and then enable them, again at will.
When you go in combat you dismount them, and then after you go out of combat you can have them to either automatically activate,as in auto mount them,or use the manual activation again,as in manually mount them.
This is the description of a mount.
A mount may give you a speed buff.Or it may not.
But it is not the speed buff,or any other buff, that makes it a mount.
Whether or not they’ll add speed buffs for those mounts is irrelevant.
I’d like them to do so,maybe in a few years after we’ve all grown older and the whole “toy” theme has sunk in with the player base.

Char are AWESOME as they are. The design choice to treat non-human races as truly non-human is one of the greatest things in GW2, and is one of the reasons I prefer this game and its lore over hundred others.
No asura with boobs, no straight backed charr, no more-human sylvari, no stupid “humanized” races which are merely humans with animal heads, like most other games do. Please, no.
+1
It doesn’t really matter since there’s a built in limit to chest loot, and that limit is keys. The contents of those chests aren’t balanced around time spent to complete the meta. They’re balanced arount time spent to acquire those keys, which is constant. No matter how many alts you have you won’t acquire keys any faster than someone who only plays one character.
I agree we use keys much faster than we can chest farm. I did find a way to help get a few extra in about 5 min or less for those who get to AB meta late. The lowest I got was 12 keys, the highest I got was 22 from doing this. I usually make it right before challenges start if I’m leaving TD meta. The way I get the extra keys is during the challenge events in AB there is an event that spawns at the gate where you need to kill 9 waves. This event takes place at every gate at the same time. Kill one wave and wp to the next gate kill another wave and so on until you do all 4. You will get reward/keys for all 4 events. If you get lucky you can get the occasional vet vinewrath for additional map participation. Doing just those I can gain about 150-175% map participation, anywhere from 12-20+ keys (usually 12-15 avg.) and a little extra map currency to help buy more keys.
Still not enough keys for as many chest as we can farm but hey every key helps. So not sure why all the fuss.Maybe everyone has been doing this all along and I’m just late to the party, I don’t know.
So basically what we’re saying here is – in approx 20 minutes, you’ve earned enough Keys for ~15-25 rares + all the other loot in the chests. Can nobody see the problem with that? The loot/effort ratio is WAY too high – it shifts wealth faster than any other method.
The op was about map hoping and opening the chests in more than one map per meta.
Map hoping itself does not give you access to more keys.
A player can play events that award keys only in one map at a time,(unless they are multi boxing characters on different maps, but that is another matter and if I’m not wrong not even allowed),so by the end of the meta they will have exactly the same keys as any other player that played the same events and for the same amount of time as them.
With map hoping all you really do is spend your keys faster.
As for the loot,I earn just as much and even more rares in VB and TD,so I don’t see the big deal.
If anything, the recent changes and increases in keys earned form events in AB brought that map up to the same level as the other Maguma maps.
So why do we even open chests? Why not just give us the loot instead of keys? We could just spend map currency and instantly get the loot that was in the Grand Chests.
-1 internet points.
Excuiz me but what are you talking about?
Chests,or containers such as pods, baskets etc,is one of the universal methods Anet uses for rewarding and distributing loot to players after successfully completing meta events in the new maps.
Keys,or machetes or crowbars, is the way the flow of that loot is controlled, not only from the game to the player, but also from the player to their inventory.
In no particular order.
Scammers,gold sellers,taxes,no wtb/wts spam in the chat.
MEGA SPOILER.

*Ok,it’s easier to build and a bit less advanced technology.
The speeder that is!
I’ll buy it,and many others like it,if and when they’ll make these toys give you swiftness buffs.
Because for all intents and purposes these are mounts, without any speed advantage.
And this would be a really nice way to introduce alternative and non traditional mounts,or out of combat and non class/built related speed buffs,or call them whatever you want,in the game.
The mechanics are there, all it takes is the decision to do it.
As for what would happen to the game.
The same thing that happened when gliding was introduced.
The game will be better.

All of the above^^
/close thread.
/won the internet.
Mesmer and Guardian.
Both are compromises.
For the mesmer I went for the least possible clipping, and for anyone who has a Charr you know how hard this can be,and for the Guardian I wanted to give the ley stone armor a proper heavy look, with as much coverage as possible and no “mini skirts with a armor plate here and there” as is the original design.
Lol.No!
GW2 is one of the few themepark games that offers actual open world PvP combat.
Why degrade it to something like WoW’s battlegrounds?
The lack of hair when wearing a hat is even more bothering.
But why?
I like underwater combat too.
I’m ok with the limited and specialized underwater weapons, but the traits and utilities are a big problem.
Just an example,if I have DH trait line enabled,my traps don’t work underwater and all trap related traits are non applicable.
And the same goes for almost all the classes and a lot of their traits and utilities.
Either give us a separate window for our underwater traits build,of make all traits and utilities useable and useful for underwater combat.
No.
This game is built with a different philosophy.
And your comments on “stealing from other players” is proof enough that Anet could have done better with the latest achievements and their related events.
I simply don’t understand how people can say that nobody wants the desert borderlands. That comment is as arrogant as it is erroneous.A lot of people liked the desert border lands.
Personally I would like ANET to go one step further and add a third type as well .Like a jungle borderland. And put them on a rotation .I think having a mix one way or the other way give an unfair advantage or disadvantage .
This would be the logical progression of things if they go with the simultaneous choice.
At some point in a future x pack, they will add a third map,and WvW will finally be as it should have been from day 1,with 4 different map designs.
Hopefully.
I don’t get all the rage.
I don’t like the Alpine bl,I find it too flat and boring, but since other people like it,I play it too.
Seriously, all this drama every time they bring out new and more complicated maps.
Should we play the same old map for the next 3 years because some people can’t get their heads around and adjust to different and varied map designs?
If anything, they should make these immune to non siege damage.
They are the Dragon’s Watch.
This name is purposeful, balanced, and definitely something they would choose for themselves.
Eternity’s Guard is too serious and needlessly dramatic, and sophisticated. And fluffy, and it does not stick.
The Unbroken is meh. Too simplistic.
(edited by Aenaos.8160)
Someone on the subreddit said it best: One of the best parts of PvE in this game is the fact that collectible/harvesting items are an instance and not competitive.
This wouldn’t be the first time Anet produces content that contradicts basic principles of the game.
Whatever happened to -in GW2 we want players to work together, feel good when they see other players around them, and not compete against each other-.?
Many times I get the feeling that the game is made by teams working in different buildings, and not a coherent team working under the same roof.
There are not enough players that progress quickly into higher divisions I guess. Last season you could get to legendary division even as average player. Now for many (solo) players this is not possible anymore because of the 50% winrate. I would take myself as a sample. I have played 150 matches this season with exactly 50% winrate. I have reached ruby tier 4 and thats it. I think more than 95% of all players are average or bellow. So I guess you have to wait a bit more until more average players progress further ;-).
So based on this logic, I’m supposed to wait another 2 weeks for more players to grind their way up?
In what way is that fair or reasonable to me or other legend players? We have to suffer so others dont get salty when they see a legend in their game?I understand that there can be a massive skill difference between an actual legend and say a ruby. But that doesn’t mean I should have endless queue times.
And what is the point of steam rolling lower skill players, and how is this fun or engaging or challenging, for either the wining or the losing team?
Uneven and unfair matches is one of the reasons this game’s PvP player base ended up being so small.
What you are asking for is that players should play unfavourable matches where they will most certainly lose,so that you can get your pop.
I understand it sucks to wait for so long to play a match, but what you are suggesting will result in even less players playing, and even longer queues.
There are videos you where you can check out the animation before you buy it.
It’s not that bad.
Now,just make these things give us a perma swiftness buff already!
Mounts in the form of horses etc do not fit the game.
Hover boards and, small techy mounts like that maybe.
What the game definitely needs is out of combat movement skills.
Something like the skills you use for the various race adventures,or the skills you use during the LS,not as powerful, but you get the idea.
Like we switch between weapons, there would be a button that switches the action bar to movement skills, only usable when out of combat.
Those could be unlocked and trained like the combat skills,or maybe be item related,so
you equip a item and you get a set of skills.
There is a need for that, and many times I find myself not using the combat build I want because I have to compensate for the absence of such skills.
Oh,I almost forgot…
This is feedback regarding Legendary “Crafting”.
I’m in the process of “crafting” amalgamated gemstones for a legendary.
There is a number of recipes that produce one gemstone per MT attempt, but I won’t
bother with those, since the produce is too small, and only usefull if you’ve got left over orbs or crests.
You need 250 gemstones for a weapon.
There is a “bulk” MT recipe, but that requires a lot of orbs,3 stacks of 25 for each attempt that will yield 10 gemstones with a slight chance for 25.
This at the moment is more or less out of the question, since in my thousands upon thousands of hours in the game I got less than a hundred of each orb type, and prices per orb in the TP are way too high.
Which brings us to crystals.
I got a few thousands of these, and upgrading them in the Mystic Toilet has a small chance to produce a much needed orb,and a tiny chance for a gemstone.
I guess you wanted to give some value to lower tier items that people have been amassing ,which is ok,but the problem lies with the way this is implemented.
So here I am,interacting with the least ergonomic slot machine on planet earth, aka the Mystic Toilet, doing the exact thing that I wanted to avoid,as in playing the Mystic Toilet, throwing thousands upon thousands of items into it,clicking my self to death,
and relying on RNG.
Instead of thousands of weapons I’m throwing in thousands of crystals, and I can tell
you there is no difference at all.
It’s boring,slow,low quality gameplay.
If one would ask,“what is the one feature we could add that would negate any good that came from the new Legendary Crafting system”,the answer would be “More Mystic Toilet”.
You short of moved the MT phase from the precursor to the actual legendary.
Success,I guess?
You could have updated the upgrade process for lower tier mats to the more recent
“consume all” method used for snowflakes and evergreen slivers.
You could have incorporated the whole process for acquiring gemstones directly into the crafting professions and the crafting UI which allows for the produce of items in bulk.Of course there would be no RNG involved there,so I can see why this would be a problem.
Instead you went for this.
Put 4 items in the slot machine, hit play, accept the shiny,or the not so shiny useless crap, repeat that a couple thousand times.
Maybe when you designed this the numbers looked good in terms of materials, cost, gold sink, but you can’t not take into account the actual gaming involved, which is in the realm of horrible.
What’s the point of keeping underpopulated worlds open and then developing ways to link them together?
Why not just close low pop worlds and offer free transfers from the closing servers to
targeted higher pop worlds?
The last thing WvW needs is even less world/server engagement.
WvW in GW2 is too much of a RvR lite mode as it is.
You already have EotM for the players that don’t really care about open world RvR or their server and simply want to join a random open map and fight.
Which brings me to the elaborate solution and how terrible I believe it will be.
You can’t destroy servers and their communities every few months.
Players got burned from grinding the achievements, not from the tournament.
Just do a tourney and leave the achievements and any short of grind out of it,and
see what the pop numbers will be.
A WvW tournament should be about the fights and the competition between the worlds.
When you go and fill it with PvE style grind bs of “kill X” and “cap x”,of course players will burn out.
And while you are at it,add some fish in there.
To keep us company while we conquer the skies.
If they ever do something like this,Rift and W* are the games with the best housing,so they can take ideas from there.

I know you dont want to hear this, but silver wastes, yeah i hate it, but i did make 100g in a day when i did it for 6 hours a year ago, i will never go back because fracs are the way to go, but thats one way
I tried silver waste but I still don’t get how people come up with those numbers. You and many others say you can make 100g in SW or 10g/hr in SW but how? The events only give you Bandit crests, sand, 100 karma and 1s. Bandit chests gives you junk and a bag. Those bags I open on a lvl45 alt and salvage yet I get underwhelming returns. So how is that you actually make gold in SW? Have I just been doing it wrong the whole time?
I played in SW for 30 min a couple of days back and I got 15 rares.
I entered the map with the zone at 80%,and after we killed VR and the champs,
I couldn’t believe my eyes.
It is RNG of course, but I’ve never left SW without a bag full of rares after a few hours of playing there.
It’s even more loot than the new zones for 10% of the effort.

They could add the missing stat combos to the vendors, there is no need for crafting for that, especially for ascended items that are account bound and cannot be traded.
So if they add the missing stats to the vendors and to the loot drop lists, why would you want to use expensive mats on crafting them?
It would be the same with armor and weapons. If those were as easily available as the trinkets,no one would bother to craft them.
Unless they introduce some short of legendary trinket,I don’t see ascended jewellery crafting becoming a relevant profession, and even then we will most likely be talking about visual fluff in the form of an aura and a qol feature.
And I certainly don’t see raid specific gear to be made available through crafting because then what would be the point of farming the raid.
I’m kinda fed up myself with this as well.
More often than I’d like I find my self soloing champs and events that were simply not designed to be played by a solo player or small groups.
What ever happened to scaling the events according to player numbers?
This short of flexibility was a advantage this game had over other games.
I’m not suggesting we should be able to 2 man meta bosses, but does every single event needs to spawn a champ?
And what is the point or fun in fighting a random open world mob that will be invulnerable,in stealth,or evading attacks 90% of the combat duration?
Ok it’s hard.
And if you go and design a mob that will spam a unblockable aoe attack that can one shoot everyone in range,it will be even harder, but what’s the point.
In the end,it’s just not fun to put so much effort in fighting open world mobs,or the extended multiplayer instances that Anet likes to call open world.
After I finish crafting Nevermore I will never set foot in these zones again.
Mission accomplished?I guess so.

Desert BL is so much better.
If it weren’t for all the gimmicky side mechanics, and if they would add some short of
very limited gliding it would be perfect.
