Give Autoloot the gliding treatment for wvw

I’ve actually heard a excuse concern that putting autoloot would have given an advantage because you would need to grind pve for it… though I sincerely doubt that was a reason.

Which of course could easily be solved by XP in WvW = Tyria XP. And before anyone says anything about the mists not being in Tyria, well, consider 1/3 of Tyrian XP concerns fractals….

In any case, XP going to waste in WvW is unacceptable.

You mean like you have to grind PvE for pretty much everything else HoT introduced? :s I don’t see why Anet stopped at auto loot.

Well, that falls under the “What is WvW? It’s still there?” situation

Well now use your own brain. Anti blob weapon? If a small group has access to them as an anti blob, the blob can have double banners as the small group.

This logic…

If you haven’t noticed, banners are tied to structures, not the size of a blob.

Aww your only tool you used to kill people is getting nerfed. Looks like you’ll have to learn to fight or roll a rev and spam 2.. Takes a working brain to realize this shouldn’t even have been added in its current state..

Need for OP crutch detected.

If WvW is so kitten clogged with “noobs” as you guys say it is then you shouldn’t need such a tool to win. The only people who want this easy mode crap to stick around those who can’t fight without it.

One thing Offair did notice is that the other side can use banners too. If both sides can use banners, then having them in the game doesn’t help me…

…unless the banners help different types of groups more than others. So who do banners benefit more: the small coordinated skill group or the large uncoordinated pug group? Due to the aoe cap being increased on banners, and the many counters available, obviously the smaller, more coordinated group benefits more.

So, if your group is getting rekt by banners, the problem is fixable. Either get your own, or get good. However, getting blobbed is not fixable. You can’t just summon more people. With banners though, you can kill the blobs that lack skill.

I like blob fights, and I don’t need help in even numbered battles. What I don’t like is groups winning based on numbers, not skill. Banners help even the numbers game.

That is not really an argument because it can be used to justify anything if the dominant criteria is equal access. All your points can be used for open field siege which is a perfectly fine legal tactic too and it is all good but let us not pretend we are really discussing anything skill related at all.

If A, then counter with A. In that case, how would you reject any idea as long as one side can duplicate what the otherside does?

I love gliding, but...

in WvW

Posted by: ArchonWing.9480

ArchonWing.9480

Bit unfair to add it to WvW because people would have an advantage. They already kinda do with the new armours and specialisations.

I would agree in theory, but there’s not much in the HoT WvW design that supports this kind of philosophy. Foods, guild buffs, etc.

The fairest way is just to make gliding baseline only in WvW and make it impossible to glide into structures. (no fly zones). No masteries allowed, and available to all. Consider it a commercial for non-HoT.

However, it’s entirely possible that people don’t want EB disrupted, so another option is to apply it only to the desert borderlands; I’m sure a lot of people don’t think it’d actually ruin them, since that assumes there was something to actually ruin.

Lower sell price on TP = Good profit? No.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

ArchonWing.9480

Let’s say someone knows an item can be sold for 50g. They sell one of them for that price, and there aren’t many around.

He lists another for 50g, and someone undercuts to 49g99s.

He then undercuts to 25g and then buys the 49g99s one.

People don’t look and just undercut that price or just click sell instantly. After a short time, he buys all of them or even places even lower buy orders. After an even smaller time later, relists them all for 50g. Though it’s possible to do 55g, since people usually don’t notice these small differences.

Although things don’t happen to this extreme much (It is SWEET when it happens), I would definitely compare the buy/sell history of expensive items before you sell them because I’ve seen some pretty blatant stunts before. I’m not against this kind of behavior, but it’s still good to be wary.

Hey guys; Chris is out for the week but I’ve been looking at this and the bottom line is that this was a single incident that was mishandled when we removed the gold before looking deeper into the account’s behavior.

We made things right with the player because it is not our desire to punish someone who clearly took advantage of a buyer who didn’t check their source. They did not engage in RMT activity and should not have had their gold removed which is why we gave it back.

On the other hand when this happens – An account buys something worthless for a large sum – it is almost always RMT activity but it still falls on mine and Chris’ teams to investigate the account before removing the gold.

If you (as players) engage in fair gameplay you should feel confident that neither CS nor GS are aiming to take action on your account – but we make mistakes. If we do; reach out and we’ll fix it. You all know me well enough by now to know I’m going to do right by you.

How do we get notified if gold or other things are removed from the account? According to the player’s story, it seemed like he just noticed he was down a few hundred gold.

Making home servers only matter for WvW was the start of the end. There were some cries from WvW’ers and other groups to keep the cities from the megaserver, but those were ignored. So with WvW on the decline, that was inevitable.

Meanwhile, the other major pillar were guilds, but a lot of small guilds seem to have struggled as most of the new guild designs had larger guilds in mind.

HoT maps still have many good experiences, but it is different these days.

The game as a whole has become more hostile to casual play. This naturally happens to games with age. At release, nobody really knows what they’re doing so there’s a lot of glass house phenomenon going on. But as people learn how to play the game, the gap between pros, average players, and noobs becomes far greater. People also begin to deride noobs for lacking “common sense” because they probably couldn’t even remember a time when such things really weren’t. All and all, it’s harder to get started as a newbie in a game mode that’s already been established. Just play any online game that’s more than a decade old.

However, while this may be natural, this game has done a number of things to make problems worse. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Power Creep. Some guy walks into WvW, and dies in 2 seconds to a passing roamer. Sure, this always happened to some degree, but even your average noob could find some degree of solace in a blob and pretend they were good… oh wait 12k CoR. Oh wait that guardian’s out of stab. Oh wait, that black hole is pulling me in. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT AIR BLIMP DOING THERE? alt-f4
  • RTFM, when the manual itself is questionable. Guild Wars 2 has an annoying tendency to not tell the player how to play it. Tooltips are vague (well, they used to be worse), and figuring which skills interact with others sometimes fills like you have to fill out the form. And of course, new users are directing to reading the wiki which would be fine, but there’s still quite a few things which nobody truly knows because consistency and Gw2 do not fit into the same sentence. alt-f4 Why isn’t regen filling up my astral force like crazy? But “heal” “what?” (Wait, why am I even on a ranger to begin with?) alt-f4
  • Related to the above, the new borderlands maps in their sheer complexity with even more complex mechanics would have seen to be directed to more advanced WvW players. Well, actually I don’t know who they were directed at. Added to the massive damage that NPCs and other hazards that do more damage than other players, you’re bascially forcing people to learn pve and pvp at the same time! alt-f4
  • Barricades, aka we hate solo players. Hey, I finally found my way to the South. Wait, why is this barricade taking forever to take down? In general, a lot of HoT content everywhere is notoriously hostile to solo players. How are they going to even learn the maps like this? alt-f4
  • “What QoL” QoL policy? “Hey why do I have to manually pick up loot? I already finished Pact Commander”. So now your guy from PvE realizes his/her autoloot doesn’t work because reasons. Or you have to mash 1 to use a ram. Why is the lag so terrible? Why do enemies appear out of nowhere? Why did I target a wall? How come I can’t join the commander’s squad and have to type the name (good luck when it has special characters) alt-f4
  • Crappy rewards. So you spend 20 minutes trying to help a few sorry folks attempt to defend a keep against 76 people, and all you got was a few wxp from repairing the wall. You might have delayed the capture by one tick. You even downed a poor sod but he got instantly ress’d. What do you get for this? Nothing. If the game could talk it would be like “You just wasted your time; pay gems to transfer higher or go back to pve” alt-f4

“Hey come to World vs World! There might be some people playing, but they usually just stick to a giant blob. You’ll have to grind your specializations out in PvE. And when you do, you’ll realize a few people burned themselves out just to provide everything you see which will be gone in 30 minutes. And if you’re really lucky, you might 4 greens. That’ll sure help you get your legendary. Oh, but at least the gameplay experience is smooth, well at least into the oasis event happens and lags unrelated maps. Ah, but you can always rest easy, as you’ll spend 2 hours in queue for EB because there’s nobody anywhere else. You can forget about going to the bathroom or changing characters, because reasons. You might get disconnected, which is even more exciting than RNG. And then you can get bursted down by a dragon burner. How dare you not farm pve you noob?” alt-f4

That, my friends, is what, recruitment messages translate to these days.

So due to all this, we’re getting an accelerated death. Veterans are sticking to each other, not bothering to help new folks or train them because they know it’s not going to mean much anyways. They’re just trying to get whatever the game mode has left and get whatever they can from it, until it all goes dark.

See you in Verdant Brink

I sincerely don’t understand why some folks feel the need to dictate how others play.

If it’s not interrupting your game play, then why even bother with duellers? Let them be.

You certainly can no longer argue they’re “taking up valuable map space” now.

The same could be said the other way though.

Clearly whoever was doing it had no respect for OP playing the game OP wanted, and without any sign of communication either.

Making up rules and expecting everyone to follow them, while raging out, isn’t particularly sensible either.

Here’s the OP

I came upon 2 enemy fighting my server’s people.
They had 2 people and my people had about 5 of us standing around watching.
I jumped in and killed both of the enemies while they were downed thinking I was contributing more than the 5 people who just stood there and watched.

One of my server mate called me a ‘loser’.

HELLO I helped kill 2 enemies while you stood there and watch.

The fact that he was cognizant of 5 other people standing and watching means he knew exactly what he was doing. It takes zero skill to stomp already downed players. Considering he has posts exclusively in WvW going back a year kind of seals that and eliminates the “oh I’m new” factor.

I suspect the OP was being facetious to elicit responses.

That doesn’t change much to me; and it doesn’t absolve the other people from tossing insults. What if OP here was newer and didn’t know what was happening. Would that have changed matters?

I mean sure, in this particular case OP may have it coming but in general my point still stands. Besides, there’s plenty of cases where both sides are wrong.

When there is no other option, people tend to follow any tag regardless of color. And that’s where the issue starts.

Personally, I see it as not disappointing other people. I mean imagine some pug hops along and then realizes this is a group that won’t slow down to wait them or flip the same towers via a train or something. Then they get picked off and have to go do something else. Or worse yet, you stumble upon a group doing guild missions and then wonder why WvW is so boring. This is why I tell people to turn off the tag when we’re doing guild missions in WvW because a lot of them aren’t here to well, really WvW. And that’s just feeding misleading info over to other people.

This isn’t even about elitism or some crap, it’s about the goals being different. And look at this on the flip side. If a guild does remain visible then they should really turn it off if they really don’t want to run with other people.

Suggestion- Laurel prices for Ascended

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

ArchonWing.9480

Laurels take no effort to gain beyond logging in the game. It being time gated is an inherent part of its design.

Making them cheaper is only going to trivialize other methods of acquisition. Instead of reducing laurel costs, there should be more ways of attaining amulets and earrings that aren’t story achievement or guild mission grinds. Personally, I think earrings are pretty badly designed— either join a guild or pay a rather expensive premium. It seems like they were just there to promote guild missions and nothing else. Boring really.

I think 500 Jeweler would be a good place for this. Currently jeweler can only craft exotic jewelry— a bit pointless if you ask me. Why is jeweler the only profession that can not craft the best versions of stuff? Alternatively, there should be a way to change jewlery stats in the mystic forge as opposed to selling it for 2 silver. Either way will allow players a way to bypass timegates and/or less interesting content without actually handing stuff to people.

Requesting Feature: Private Commander Tag

in WvW

Posted by: ArchonWing.9480

ArchonWing.9480

I do think including features that promote elitism and exclusion are problematic. However, I also think the right to privacy is also a concern, and people do deserve to play with organization tools without having to cater to everyone; personally we don’t mind company, but truth is, and this is true outside of WvW too, but every time one tags up, you always get some people with entitlement complexes that are bitter you have gold to buy a tag and think you owe them the world. I think that kind of situation is bad.

Some people just like to help their server or faction in less overt ways, and honestly I think HoT has killed a lot of incentive for them as your development process has shown a clear bias towards zergs.

But on a more serious level, if it is true that you folks do want inclusion and not leave puggles like myself out, I would consider that you look at a few things that DO exclude people.

  • Guild upgrade costs. They exclude a lot of people that want to actually play your game mode. I just don’t think WvW upgrades should require so much PvE. Also previously, even small groups of individuals could provide their personal guild buffs, however small and limited.
  • Meanwhile, you have provided powerful weapons like dragon and turtle banners…. that are only accessible to guilds and are mainly anti-pug weapons. While they sure have counters, ’m sure your average pug has a good feeling when he/she gets one shot and wonders if they could do the same thing only to realize they need to join a guild with tons of resources.

I think these things are far, far more exclusionary and the later should be heavily nerfed, if you would like any degree of consistency.

As a whole, HoT has catered more to elitist and exclusionary content what with the whole pve grindgrindgrind mindset, very narrow means of acquiring various things, and with a hint of psuedo esportsism mixed in and this has spilled over to WvW, and nobody will support us because their viewpoint is pvecentric meaning WvW are always lazy because they will not go to PvE way. I understand if one’s views are only stuck to what they know, but personally I would never want anyone to be forced into WvW for anything. Obviously mode exclusive things like WvW achievements or fractal level 9001 should be only accessible in their own place but those things don’t affect anything outside of themselves. I just wish people would return the favor.

Basically, the game has become very much less about freedom aka “play how you want” as it was before. Now it seems a bit more about “Well, I went through that horrible grind, so you should too!”

But I would like to ask you sincerely to consider how valuable the WvW populace is. We* are not locusts that have endless demands, complaining over a lack of new content, devouring any new content, and considering the cycle while leaving behind a wake of boring and soulcrushing grinds for the rest of us. If you show me an actual WvW regular that will bash Arenanet because Living Story 45 isn’t out in 2 weeks yet after 44 and there aren’t any new outfits this week, I’ll pay you a copper. Because you know, constantly spitting out “novel” content isn’t actually a reasonable demand. Making sure your content actually works on the other hand, I think is. Seriously, when people go “oh my god, there’s no new content”, I respond with “What the hell do you even want? Can you even be happy?” And then I understood why treadmills are created.

As long as the game mode is fine, and there are conflicts to be had, it’ll be fine. That’s how WvW basically survived for 3 years on pretty much minimal content changes. And there’s certainly many other players that are not WvW’ers that are also willing to stay with you because they sincerely enjoy the content and not off to some race to be a special snowflake. I think these people will stick with you a bit longer than those that have come to prove that they have nothing better to do and will move on to the next game in 6 months. They’re not the ones buying at your gem store constantly, I’d hazard a guess.

*"we" used as a generalization, not in literally. It’s an opinion bros.

Outfits trend... Are players happy about it?

Of course I prefer the armor method. Outfits are good to have a certain appearance on the go or if I’m feeling not very creative. Dyeing seems so limited though, though I suppose this is true in general.

The annoying part is that this outfit focus seems to be to avoid clipping issues… which isn’t working that great. In any case, I haven’t been interested in any outfits for a long time. Last one I got was the Noble Count— yea that’s quite a while back!

I think there’s actually a legitimate reason why gem store items cannot be too good.

Look at boosters and BL keys. How can that possibly be cost effective? If you buy an item booster, I doubt it’d ever come close to making its cost. But you can get these just by playing the game. It makes sense that the intent is to get them as such, and you pay a premium to have them without playing the game.

If gem store items were too good for their value, then they would start to be viewed as mandatory, and that would have pay to win vibes. Take the watchwork sprocket pick, at which point was actually able to pay for itself a lot better than the other items— that caused a ton of trouble. It wasn’t mandatory, but it was a definite advantage even against similarly priced mining tools.

As is, the slots are meant to be used with other gem store items. Having a copper salvage kit means that if you have 3 characters, you will have almost tripled its effectiveness, and thus won’t have to buy 3 of them separately. If you buy one copper salvage kit; you can pay 700 more gems to have it be used on all other characters, which would be cheaper than even buying one more copper salvage kit— making it more effective on even someone with 2 characters.

(Though that certainly is an issue when it comes to people that did bought multiple copies). And we certainly have complaints about that, meaning that, in some cases, the slots are too effective and have made purchases redundant. For the price of 2800 gems, you will have gained the efficiency of people that have spend many thousands of gems for all those copies— there’s already an imbalance there.

It all depends on what you value. For example, I don’t raid, so I don’t see the need for high end level 80 food when there’s much cheaper food that’s almost as effective. I would find it a waste for my needs. I also think legendaries are also an expensive waste of time too, all for a skin and just a stat change. But hey, I just don’t bother with them if I don’t like them.

But this is from the perspective of someone that doesn’t buy gems with money. Gold can’t be redeemed for money, so the opportunity cost is obviously different. I also think this will only be the beginning, so we should have more slots to accommodate armor sets as well. But it really only works if you buy them in order— for example it makes more sense to have a good deal of bank tabs before buying a storage expander.

I don’t understand people who consider putting permanent gathering tools into those slots.

These tools have been sold for one reason only: To put them into the gathering equipment slot and subsequently forget about them, never again having to bother with thoughts like “do I have enough tools left or will I run out soon” or “i am going into area x and there is a lot of metal to be gathered there, I should go and buy a spare set of picks”.

The incentive for spending a lot of gems on these items was: Equip and forget. Putting these tools into a shared slot totally defeats the point of them. You will now have to open your inventory before you gather a node, and double click the required permanent tool to equip it on your current char. But wait – you aren’t done inconveniencing yourself yet. If you do not want to have to do this for every subsequent node with every char for eterinity, you now have two choices after gathering: Do you put the tool back into its shared slot, or leave it equipped? Now you have to think about how likely it is that you will gather at another node before you log off your char the next time. If you will gather again, it would be pointless to put it back into its shared slot and re-equip it at the next node. But if for any reason you need to log out or switch your char, you will have to remember to first put your gathering tool(s) back. Doesn’t that sound horribly inconvenient and the exact opposite of what people were trying to achieve in the first place?

I for one would not ever think of putting a permanent gathering tools in such a slot. Imagine this: You just gathered 2 minutes ago and you were sure you will reach another node soon, so you left the tool equipped. Now a friend messages you and asks you to do fractals, which you would like to do, but on another char. So you relog, do fractals, and then something else comes up. The next day you have already forgotten about this and play a different char and suddenly you realize: My precious permanent gathering tool is not in its shared slot! Now you have to start looking for it on each of your chars, if you cannot remember where you left it. Sorry but all of this sounds hilarious. I would rather go back to using store-bought stacks of 50 tools instead of putting a permanent into a shared slot.

I don’t see it as a big deal, since I do that already. Previously once I’m going to log off to a character, I swap the unlimited tools for regular ones in my bank, so the next character I play can access them from the bank. Now, I don’t even need to go with the bank anymore and I can delete all the mining tools off my alts now so I don’t ever have to buy any again. I’m not sure why you’d have to equip/unequip them for every single node. I just equip at login and unequp at logout. If for some reason I have to change my character this takes about 3 seconds to do that.

Still, I do think having multiple gathering tools is still better than using it on the shared slot.

Thank you to all those that bought these and are paying for the game. I’m not laughing at you. I’m not laughing at you. Ahh, who am I kidding? HHAHHhahhaahhaahah.

700 gems for one slot, gg Anet marketing dept, gotta love that money grab, and the usual suspects that piled in, bought 5 and praise the ‘opportunity’ given them by you to pass over more of their hard earned.

I just bought an entire game for that.

Sure, whatever makes your day. I’m glad you managed to experience joy. I haven’t spent a cent on this game beyond the base game and a HoT purchase.

Of course, I can’t buy any more games using fake currency so I’m not sure what that dichotomy came in. But I do estimate it saving me about 5 minutes a day, so in a year that might come up to I don’t know? 30 hours I can be doing something else.

I mean it’s only a couple hundred gold. I’ve also spent hundreds if not thousands of gold on marginal stat boosts (ascended), so what is this really?

Le sigh. I understand the need for surprise over epic and big changes, but at this point people need more encouragement, and it’s just not there. If WvW was in a better spot, it be nice for a surprise, but we’re going for repairing at this point.

If one were to come forth and said “Actually our plans didn’t work out, and we don’t know what the hell we’re doing” that would probably be a better step forward and I wouldn’t be angry at all. Honest. That’s fine. I respect someone more for being able to swallow their pride and asking for directions as opposed to wasting hours driving around in a circle. It’s okay to back out; it just takes a little to make mistakes seem like a bad and distant memory.

We can do better. That’s all I’ll say.

PPK will be abused by people with accounts/friends on opposing servers.

To be fair, I think this does deserve some kind of concern. Perhaps a cap on specific individuals giving a point is proper enough, because yes, I actually do think people have enough time to do this kitten.

Or ban people that break the rules. Hahahahaha. Yea I know nobody believes that one.

Funny that one is so quick to bash Yak’s Bend for potentially benefiting from the system when they have a k:d ratio of 0.78…

And now, I’m off to craft more superior siege to make a fortune.

Wait! Why?! Why would you craft superior siege? There’s no use for it in a dead game mode or am I wrong? O.o

Someone’s buying it.

Probably Yak’s Bend to overcome their crappy K:D ratio.

;D

Well, I wouldn’t be too surprised! But let’s keep the pvf to a minimum.

Although back to the issue at hand, I’m surprised people haven’t realized that group of 30 huddled together in a tower that are just jumping out to (badly) gank their uplevel tail and run back in aren’t really looking for good fights regardless of system and perhaps wading into those red circles while futilely screaming for a ballista to be built only to realize that some kitten has perfectly placed a catapult on the stairs that can’t be hit makes it just a quite a masochistic experience.

I’ve just been through too many staring contests and decided, well, there’s something better to do with my life. Or ask some poor soul to treb them. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, really.

On the other hand, I wonder how many times people overestimate how many defenders are in there, and suddenly that “come out and fight us!” suddenly loses its luster.

tl;dr ppters gonna ppt.

Yes, stop skill clicking. Even if it kills you, you won’t regret it in the long run.

Just practice on getting your skills off as quickly and accurately as possible. After that pick a build off metabattle, but the most important thing now is that you get your character do whatever you need it to do in a pinch.

I’m guessing you’ll have to learn about strafing and turning with mouse instead of keyboard as well; it’ll help you out in all aspects of the game.

And don’t feel bad about dying. It happens a lot given how there’s a lot of ways to instagib people these days.

It’s a luxury item on top of luxury item. It’s not meant to be worth it in terms of cost.

Without the infinite convenience tools, it’s useless. But that’s fine.

And no, it can’t be compared to the upgrade extractor, because in most cases buying a new rune is cheaper.

It’s not going to be for everyone; if you’re worried about price, you’re better off maxing out bank slots or getting infinite gathering tools or whatnot.

Personally, I usually only go to the bank to swap infinite gathering tools and pass the salvage kit around, so this works well enough for me. Maybe the 5th slot will be for the Mystic Forge Conduit or siege, haven’t really decided.

Finally, I didn’t really need the gold. 2800 gems even if you convert now (which I didn’t) is 560 gold? A few extra pieces of ascended armor, or halfway towards a precursor, both of which I have no interest in atm. The way I see it, people going for Wintersday Achievement drinks already paid for me on most of this. But that’s just me. I usually convert a lot of my gold to gems for the purpose of buying new stuff on the gem store.

I always thought talks about animal abuse and violence in games were kinda silly, and I kill deer without blinking an eye because I hate deer and how stupid they are touching my AOEs and then blaming me. But then I remember doing this heart, and I’m like “dude, that’s totally messed up!”

I don’t even try to kill the angry adult dolyak these days.

It’s not enough for me to contact PETA and I still lament the lack of a meat pizza in the game, but :O It’s an issue of consistency for me. Hearts are like mostly doing community service and cleaning up cow dung or some kitten or some goody goody crap, and then… this!

Although ironically, I hate being the goody goody hero too and I have the yakslapper title so I actually do like killing dolyaks, so…. I think it’s a matter of the game in general portraying your character as a goody two shoes. I wouldn’t mind more kittenish things if the story allowed for it more and portrayed it as such.

WvW guild chat- "population balance"

in WvW

ArchonWing.9480

My thoughts?

Even if these were the best changes ever, it still doesn’t justify what was done to WvW at the start of HoT. It would have been better to do it all in one goal, without releasing a halfmade design that creates something that drives people away. I don’t understand why if they were really planning for such a majestic upgrade, to not leave wvw as is, instead of forcing people to learn a new system…. that will most likely become obsolete anyways and have to be relearned.

Such a approach to development, and I’m supposed to believe that this so called year long overhaul is going to come from the same source? Come on, who are you kidding?

Because of this, there are people that have left, and there’s a chance they won’t come back regardless, because this isn’t like the first or last time there’s been hype over something that just never amounts to anything.

They already had their chance to ride the hype with HoT… and they really missed it.

Basically, to summarize:

In order for this idea to have any value, means they needed to have a concept of WvW solidly done. But given things in their current state, it’s simply not possible, because if they did, we wouldn’t even be having this discussion right now.

Even if you do somehow like the new WvW content, I don’t see this approach to be optimistic about at all. But this isn’t just WvW. To me, it looks like HoT has been a rushed mess in many aspects, and it’s pretty much all damage control. WvW just happens to magnify these issues, because at this point, it’s the weakest link.

I’m just being realistic here.

When your sieging a gate of a keep like in ebg. People Always die, cause they get killed by ac whatsoever, for they stand out of the group etc for a sec.
The defenders only have to shoot AC’s to keep other opponents unable to ress. If well played this means that the numbers of the group attacking the keep might go down very quickly. Meaning those people have to run back. Maybe so quickly that cause of that some commmanders choose to even more siege long distance, instead of fighting a keep up close.

It’s been stated that if you already started to hardres outside of combat, being put in combat doesn’t stop it. It’s fairly trivial to break combat if it’s just siege attacking you.
