No, but that’s only because I like wvw. I’d pay gems to level my crafting professions to 400 though!
Honestly, I can’t really see how one can justify the gameplay to explore 3 identical maps. I still haven’t completed any of the maps despite playing wvw daily simply because I just don’t care about map completion— that I’d imagine is pretty low on many a wvw player’s priorities.

It’s quite silly since it’s arguably whether or not the mists count as part of the “world”. Then again it’s just as annoying to me as having to do pve to get better stats for wvw. >.>
Some will argue to you that wvw is actually not pvp, and they’d have a point (most are not capable of fighting another player though sometimes they may trample enemy players while in a zerg), but I doubt that really means anything to you either.
Personally, I am not fond of it either to have pve-only people who don’t want to be in here with us, as I would only enjoy fighting along side folks who want to crack some skulls and not just head off to that vista. It’s a game; we’re supposed to have fun, and I’d rather do content with people who want to enjoy it as opposed to some dreadful chore/suicide mission.
But yea… I guess they want you to sample all of the game’s content to count as exploring. But exploring the other side’s keep…?
And yes, the fact that the BLs are identical does not make it fun to explore either.
Good thing my server’s doing good this week… might be time. >.> Then again I won’t be getting 100% any time soon since the idea of exploring those trivial 1-30 zones doesn’t interest me either. I’ve already done all the zones above 30 anyways, so it’s not like I’m not capable of it.

Stop looking for patterns where they don’t exist.

And rule by anyone willing to cough up 100 gold is somehow morally superior?
Hmm, I didn’t realize commanders could take control of your characters…
They aren’t ruling anything. There’s nothing to say you have to follow them. Nothing happens to you if you don’t.
And yes, I could afford a tag. So it’s not just sour grapes. I can already tell you I’d make a bad commander; but that does not mean I want another bad commander to be inflicted on an entire zone either. And that’s what happens when they are the only tag in the zone; in the time it takes the zerg to figure out that following them = bad, an unrecoverable amount of crap can happen.
So ignoring them at an individual or squad level does not help make something happen within a tenable timetable.
You should be able to judge a commander within a few minutes given their reactions, positioning, movement, communication, and the general flow of the map.
The thing is it can be disagreeable on who’s bad or not. Sometimes they can be having an off day, or make mistakes, or simply outplayed.
Argue the point instead of resorting to ad hominems or non-solution solutions. I am glad to see at least some were mature enough to disagree and at least offer an alternative system to enforcing some sort of accountability for commanding.
A ad hominem is when it’s the sole argument to discount your point.
My point is that mob rule is bad and then individual players need to take responsibility for themselves. Bad commanders get shunned and ignored anyways; good commanders get tons of followers and gifts. It works already.
Anyhow, I already have seen enough commander abuse by armchair commanders, and to put such power in their hands is unacceptable. I would find it completely unacceptable if even one useful commander was badly affected by it for any amount of time.
But let me discuss matters in a kind fashion. If bad commanders do so much damage because the mindless zerg follows them, I don’t see how it makes any sense for the mindless zerg to have this kind of power.

I can’t really see assasin’s helping but… http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1li5q3/breakeven_points_of_power_vs_precision_mathtable/
Attack is not used at all, you must use power: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Attack_
Lol noooo, power/attack all the way for damage. You have to think about it, critical chance is nothing but a potential outcome. Power/attack on the other hand is an actual damage increase. Just because your chance of landing a critical are higher it doesn’t mean your damage is higher, it just means you have a higher chance of landing a critical
Some things look better on paper than when actually put to use. Stick with berserkers
That’s not entirely accurate even though I would estimate zerker being better anyways, otherwise there would be a minute difference between zerker and soldier and knight. More crit chance and crit dmg increase your damage done over time, aka more dps. We’re not just looking for the biggest numbers.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

Mob rule yay.
Anyhow, I have a free solution to this. You see there’s this thing slightly below the top of your head that allows you to do stuff and also decide on whether or not that blue symbol is worth following.
If you can’t do that, you get exactly what you deserve.
See there’s all talk about terrible commanders, but what about those terrible followers that can’t follow simple directions, wipe, blame everyone but themselves and come up with silly complaints like the one in this thread?
Just allow the tag to be disabled. As for the rest well, you can join the squad of a commander you do want to follow and it removes the rest from the map.

Normally I’ll trash talk for the fun of it but I don’t care anymore, doing no one good.
Good job SBI. (only time I’m saying this)
I’ve been the lone commander for BP the past 10 hours. You guys have good coordination and reaction time. Me flipping only your bay for the past 10 hours with 60 people proves it.
BP BL hills just now: You kept coming and coming and eventually broke us. Maybe it was all those times you contested our Garrison. You seriously wore us out and eventually got it. Also nice try trying to defend it as well as we took it right back.
But many times you guys decided “golems is the way to go!”. With however many people you had (I’m guessing 60+) you could literally dps the gate and break it down faster than the time it takes to build those golems. Just a suggestion.
I hope our tenacity today shows that we are not tanking this matchup. I (and many others) are trying our best to push you guys away. Just because the score is lopsided does not mean we’re giving up.
Anyways, you’re coverage is insane and it’s clear that tier 4 servers can’t match it. Heck, we did a lot better against DB and Maguuma than you guys. Wherever BP ends up in the future, whether it’s silver or gold league, we’ll still be out there fighting.
Oh, I remember this BP better.
But yea, we realize you guys never quit ever since that time you took away that rather sizable lead away from us and won.
There’s quite a few servers up there that we’d love to deliver payback to, and now that we realize there’s more than one map thanks to you folks, we might make it happen… someday, if the fairweathers haven’t jumped ship already. :S

Oh man. And to think it’s only going to get worse
Coming from SBI, a server that will most likely be at the bottom of that respective league, I think we can understand the bad situation AR is currently in will only get worse with the way that’s going to work, and it would really suck to have a condescending developer tell us our future defeats are because we didn’t want a challenge.
I really don’t have any good news sadly at this rate. All I can say is hold on tight, because the worst is about to happen. The survivors that will still be there with you are going to be your real allies. We’ll cheer for you in the meantime; all we can really do.

I would ditch Elusive Power. It’s a poor trait for what we intend to accomplish.
The thing about EP is that it directly is contradicted by the 5 point honor trait Vigorous Precision, which gives you endurance on crit, and any dps build will have a high crit chance. Furthermore, endurance is arguably your most important defensive resource and trying to deliberately keep it low (and lose dps by not attacking) is a very poor trade off. You’re better off putting 5 more into radiance and picking up perfect inscriptions or 5 in virtues for inspired ones. Perfect inscriptions will let your signet of resolve get rid of 2 conditions every 10 seconds, which is nice since you don’t have any condition removal besides 4/2 on the greastsword, not to mention the additional bonuses from your 2 signets.

There is no diminishing return and people need to stop being bad at math. It’s the same people who think you can have too much crit chance (before 100% crit chance of course)
People might be like…. 50 to 55% damage reduction. What? That’s only a 5% increase now! Garbage! That’s not true though. Someone with 55% damage reduction takes 10% less damage than someone with 50% because they have 10% more damage reduction. (55 is 10% more than 50).
Now, if you have two stats, of which one is really high and the other is really low, that is that it is far easier to increase the lower stat by a certain % than the higher stat. Which means a balance between something like power, precision and critical damage would help more. And it also explains why those 3 stats are superior to other stats as they scale off each other and are easier to increase individually by a certain percentage.
That being said, there is an obvious cap for precision though… though this only comes to play when you have traits or skills that boost it that high.
Also the toughness thing appears to be a rumor and really shouldn’t be relied upon.

SBI collapsed in tier 1 and fell and was handed many high tier beatings with less than half our current numbers. It’s nothing new to most of us, lol.
Can’t see how anyone can be happy about this terrible system. 2 of us will get screwed no doubt, but #13 will be facing boring matchups, and the rest of you guys in silver will be facerolled by whoever’s #13 no doubt. Meanwhile, #21-24 are going to have it even worse. And the thing is #13 and #14 will dominate so hard, then whenever that season ends, guess what’s going to happen…. It just prolongs the inevitable.
I guess it’d be funny though. Though not as big as a joke as whoever thought 2 divisions was good enough.

You can certainly use a scepter though usually in pve it’s on swap to fight enemies you can’t melee. In WvW it’s possible to use it if you want to hang out in the back or something.
The mainstay of letting you do anything is simple because it’s like most guardian dps builds: 10 in Zeal for Fiery Wrath (10% dmg vs burning enemies) and 30 in Radiance for right handed strength (15% crit). 25 in radiance also lets you have radiant power which gives 10% damage to enemies with a condition. This means every time you set an opponent on fire via Virtue of Justice or your random ally does a burning attack, you automatically do 20% more damage. In addition the minor traits blind enemies with Virtue of Justice activation, and the other refreshes it on enemy kill. Added the trait “blind exposure” which causes vulnerability on blinded enemies and you can see how much extra damage you’re doing. In larger zerg champion events, you could do worse than mashing f1.
The remaining 30 points is completely up to you. You may consider 20 into zeal for scepter power for even more damage. Other popular goals include 10 in virtues for consecration cooldown reduce so you may use wall of reflection more, 20 in virtues for Absolute Resolution (Condition Removal), 20 points in honor for Empowering Might (might stacking), 30 points in honor for Pure of Voice (Condition Removal if you have shouts).
For offhand, either shield or focus is fine. In general, the larger your group, the better shield is. Solo, just run focus.
For utility skills, shouts are the most straightforward, though certainly wall of reflection is welcome any day.
In PvE, use all zerker; if you find yourself dying too much either pick up a Signet of Judgement (-10% damage) or Strength in Numbers trait for a toughness boost instead of doing something silly such as soldier gear (that is good in wvw though).
The main weakness of scepter is the projectile speed isn’t very good and often will miss an elephant. It’s generally better if you don’t treat it like a 1200 range weapon. The damage is decent, and smite hits hard against large enemies.
Good luck!

Because build variety, game balance and completeness were not priorities.
Ascended gear is half baked and merely just carrot dangling. Every part of it besides maybe the amulets has shown a complete disregard for these things beyond getting them out for additional stats and grind. The fact that something like valkyrie is missing from ascended trinkets is proof that that they just don’t care about delivering quality, but that’s ok, since it’s catering to a crowd that could care less about these things as long as they can grind for a new shiny that makes them stand out. But this is typical fare really.
Oh, that and it’s their way of saying “only zerker you nubs” and yet another way of saying “what’s wvw?”
Regardless of grind, one can see how instead of making sure their current set of ascended gear (trinkets) is complete, they prioritized on throwing more stuff upon it. The actual ascended materials part is actually not bad at all. It’s just sullied by the lack of polish and the busy work to 500.

The main problem is having people who don’t play the game much make big changes to it. No matter how sound one’s principles are, one needs to experience something firsthand to make judgements on whether or not gameplay is fun or not. And even when done so, it’s hard to realize the number of perspectives that exist.
This can be seen in cases such as wvw, where they are silly enough to believe fighting servers 10 ranks up is an engaging “challenge”, giving proof of this cluelessness, but it’s generally less evident in pve since as long as you can bang your head up against it long enough, it’ll work.
It’s a hard struggle. Players are generally better at the game since they spend more time playing the content, but can grow tunnel-visioned with their own agenda. It’s a tough balance to make that requires careful weeding of poor suggestions that have the best intentions.

No, because then people couldn’t accuse others of being entitled and lazy without having the actual skill and proof of said skill to make such a claim. And as you know, if there’s an objective evaluation of your worth in a video game, it’s bound to cause mental breakdowns if one indeed realizes he/she is not l33t as they thought. The thought of having to talk trash and having to back it up is scary to many. It’s much easier if the goals were set as boring and easy as possible so that time spent is the key factor, so then it’s easy to call others bads and whatever new term for noob they have every month.
That, and some people have very narrowly defined definitions of skill.
What ur basically saying is make everything easy mode but time consuming so ppl can think they r better then what they really r in the game.
Actually I’m saying that’s just as bad. I apologize for my sarcastic tone, but it was to point out that a lot of people who think they are better than they actually are constantly talk trash without any evidence to back it up, but all they have done is really have more time invested. I’m saying that making it more skill based will force people to back their words up, but obviously there would be so much crying that I bet a lot of people’s egos couldn’t take it. Queen’s Gauntlet broke a few egos for sure.
at the same time if this game is always coming out with new skins and new items which cost gold ur going to want to buy it and as a casual gamer u dont have time to do so since evrything is time consuming. this would not only reward skilled players but it will also, if they can complete it, help ppl who dont have time to grind to get a skin or set of armour they want. the game is filled with content which only takes time to complete/get. if they add content like this to the game it will just give more ppl more options to get gold and to have fun.

The main problem is most stat combos, are indeed, pretty useless. Useless not necessarily from an objective point of view, but naturally most stat combos are useless for your character in particular, and even if you have a few alts, it may still be true. The other problem is that they aren’t tradable, so more often than not, you’ll get something completely useless to what you need. Now, that’s not a big problem unless the drop rates are so poor that you might as well forget they exist. But that’s a good way to trick people into thinking they have options.
In any case, I don’t think it’s that big of a deal unless the drop rates are like precursor bad or something.

for there you have been and there you will long to return.
You can fight against #13-15 ranked servers for no other reason then the developers thinking you want to test out your skill and then blame you for losing.
It’s funny, because there’s like no reasoning behind it. Maybe they’re trying to make all the smaller servers deserted and pile on top of the league, so there won’t be as many servers to maintain.
In any case, the only thing to get is that the developers have no idea of what they’re doing. The real message they’re sending is “go back to pve”
And as we have here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Final-solution-for-league-and-transfers/2747282
