I don’t know about how hard it might be but the cost of it is a different story. You would have to hire at least 2 people, a man and a woman, assuming your not going to give each one a different, unique voice. If you are going to give each a unique voice then that is a lot of interviewing and hiring. Then all that text would have to be read over then added to each of the NPCs. That’s not cheap. Any money and time they spend doing that Is money and time they aren’t spending on other projects.

Money and time always has to be considered. Is the time and money spent doing this worth it, as it takes away from other things? Most people are going to say no.

Video Games
As with cartoons, narration and character acting both come into play for video game voice-overs. The suggested rate for this type of voice-over work is $100 per minute, or $1500 for a 45-minute recording.

When you add up the time recording and rerecording voiceovers for all the NPCs, it gets expensive fast. And those rates are probably old ones.

Maybe because in Queensdale there are 3 other champs the zerg is doing during that wait time? So that would be 4 champs in the 10 minute window versus one champ every 8 minutes. And no one has THAT much inventory to do.

Since everything you get in the chest has some value, maybe not to you, it’s not gambling per se. Most have either a gem or gold value associated with them. Everyone’s a “winner”, just some lucky players may get something worth considerably more.

It’s just sadly since the introduction of skin tickets, the lure is too great for some. Doesn’t matter what the odds are.

90% if the problem is the player does not know what the actual odds are. 10%? 5%? 1%? 0.1% for a ticket? Who knows.

Maybe not know the actual drop rates, but researching it can give you a ball park figure of one scrap every 5 keys, RNG being RNG of course and assuming the numbers given are representative. It comes out to a 21% chance of getting a scrap. So, the average here is 1 ticket every 47 keys.

I’ve done a number of key runs and so far the drop rate matches this. Approximately 1 scrap every 5 keys when averaged out.

I could have sworn there was a Dev post some months back about level 500 jewelry. Something about Legendary trinkets that have special particle effects. I remember reading it but can’t seem to track it down. Does anyone else remember this?

One new type of Legendary gear will definitely be putting in an appearance this year and will likely be a trinket such as a ring or amulet.

So you’ve been fooled once by trying ANet’s RNG boxes. You aren’t the first, as there have been numerous threads on the forum about it. Take it as a fairly cheap lesson learned that gambling favors the house and go on from there.

They aren’t going to stop selling them. Not only do they sell well to people like you trying them out for the first time but apparently some people actually like paying for keys. (Shrug).

Or you could buy exotic armor and backpiece from temples. They cost 42k karma for each piece and each temple has different stats. You can mix and match if you want.

Once you get achievement points you don’t lose them if you delete a character. Achievements are account wide.

Geez. I’ll take them. I’ve used 56 stacks of dust, 56 stacks of empy frags and 56 stacks of dragonite (a total of 168 stacks of T7 mats) and I still need more. Probably the same amount again at least.

This isn’t the Matrix you know, with real characters with real feelings caught in a computer. There is no way for a computer generated set of pixels to feel anything. And it would be the worse update ever to encourage people to enjoy killing things that can actually feel pain.

There is only two ways to switch servers, by paying or by deleting all your characters. That’s it. There is nothing support can do about this. If you pay or delete all your characters you can transfer to any server that is not full, either EU or NA.

Access to guild improvements on the new world

If it’s to low I think less people would be billing to buy gems for gold, especially with prices for items rising. If it’s to high there would be less need to buy it. So it’s an matter of finding the correct balance to get best sales. Thats what I would think at least.

It sounds like you are saying ANet is actively involved in the gems/gold prices. However John Smith says it is simply the ratio of gems versus gold in the currency exchange.

They could have been Chinese nationals who bought an NA or EU version of the game. I guess they can play it from China , not sure how restrictive their internet is.

New characters don’t get these items. Old ones get 3 tonics if they visit the Black Lion Armor trader. But you can get more at the trading post.

The number of hacked posts here has been the most I have seen since I started playing over a year ago. Your log in ID is your email address also, not sure if there’s a way they capture it by entering the actual account name i.e. player.1234 (not real) but one disturbing thing I found is that If I type my player.1234 (not real) but don’t enter my password at the login screen it will autofill my email address in place of the account name and ask me to try again.

Not sure if this is because it’s a trusted machine or if it’s just how the launcher works though.

I tried that on my computer, put in my display name of Astral Projections.7320 and tried to login with the real password and a fake one. Both times it rejected and Astral Projections.7320 was shortened to Astral. If I didn’t put a password in, nothing happened. It just sat there.

So maybe it’s just your machine.

One is the time element. Support gets literally thousands of reports every day for all sorts of stuff. Each report goes to the bottom of the stack and moves up as reports above it are worked on and cleared. So, it does take a while and 2 days is probably too soon.

The other is severity of offense. There is bound to be a threshold but no one knows what it is or if certain remarks cross it. Even if he disappears for a few days you won’t know if it’s your report, someone else’s report or he is simply not playing.

All you can do is block, report and move on.

I think this is an important quality of life improvement for both classes with no impact on balancing in PvE and WvW. If it’s a balance problem in PvP then it should be disallowed there but for the rest of the game it would it should be allowed.

Curse. It makes any money making method actually playing the game obsolete unless you are lucky and get at least one precursor per week as a drop. It also makes all common items worthless unless anet adds specific recipes requirering insane amounts of it (eg. iron ore). Common items are always worthless. You aren’t going to find eager buyers for the loot that everyone gets. At least with a TP you can find the few people who want it.

Well, in my experience, face to face trading with someone who then tries to scam me certainly made it a more interesting experience but that is countered by the boring time spent spamming WTS or WTB before finding even one interested person.

I’ve seen posts in the Account issues forum where people protest getting a 72 hour suspension for abusive language. They were shocked and outraged, some are very profane over how they are being treated. Others lie and claim they didn’t say anything. Those are the most amusing ones as Gaile will come onto the thread and set the record straight. There was one thread posted by a friend of a person whose account was banned because of repeated episodes of abusive language.

So yes, abusive language can get you punished. It’s 72 hours for the first offense. Each succeeding offense gets a longer suspension all the way up to a ban.

Because of Chinese laws, the Chinese version of the game is through a Chinese company and their game is separate from the NA/EU game. It has its own separate trading post for example and it’s not possible to either transfer or guest to either an EU or NA server.

ANet has those numbers and has tried it both ways. With Guild Wars 1 that had paid expansions and a limited cash shop and Guild Wars 2 with its financial model. When ANet looks at the money coming in, the number of people logging in each day and how many have stopped logging in versus the numbers from Guild Wars 1 and are satisfied with it, then that’s a good indication that their financial model of b2p and cash shop is working.

They are tonics now so you can’t dye them. Unless they rework them completely again and make them costumes or armor they will always be undyeable.

I reply with this, that section of the map doesnt exist at all. the previous living stories all were part of the map that was able to be unlocked where as the maguuma jungle and magus falls where the new dragon may have awoken isnt even physicaly there. That being said, anet would not say if there was a expansion in the works even if asked, especialy given the game was still new at that point and expansions take a long time to even get into the pre-alpha stage. so they would not give others hope on a project that may well be scrapped and pushed back.

That quote said no expansions, which means no new paid for increases in content. If you mean something besides the standard defintion then you should define what you mean in your original post.

I think it’s likely the game will expand into new maps but they have repeatedly said they aren’t going to have expansions.

I would like one also. However since it’s connected to the Scarlet story line and she is dead it’s very possible that it won’t return. We will just have to see what the next story line brings. If they continue the toxic alliance there is a good chance of it.

No, you keep all your achievement points, if that’s what you are asking. However if you didn’t finish the story and make another of the same race you will have to start at the beginning of the personal story and work your way to where you stopped before you get more achievements.

If you are on a shard with no people, try this. Type /IP in the chat box, that will give you the identification number of that shard. Then guest to another server, it doesn’t matter which. Type /IP again. If the same, guest again until you get a different number. Then see if people are around.

I have 2 bricks and a partial. That’s after making 28 ascended weapons so I’ve used 140 bricks, which is 56 stacks or 14,000 dust.

The problem is, its either feast or famine. People not making ascended gear, and lots of it, have ridiculous amounts. Someone like me has to do content especially just to get it. Once I get all the weapons for all 8 level 80s then I’ll be singing the same song as everyone else but till then I’m always looking for more.

Maybe there is something wrong with that new email even if it’s not one of them listed. If it was me, I would get a completely new email, close out the old tickets and make a new one asking to change to it. Hopefully that will fix the problem.

In addition, I would first do a security sweep of my computer. Just in case that email was hacked and the hacker is removing the emails. Maybe not likely, but doesn’t hurt to check.

Hmmm. I don’t think there is a whole lot. Used to be WvW ranks but not anymore. If you had access to a vender from the personal story, such as the Vigil vender for Vigil armor and weapons and don’t have another character with that, you lose it. Any crafting progress you have on that character. Skill points. Map completion. Stuff like that.

What email did you use to log into the forum? That’s the account name that you use to log into the game. Since you can get onto the forum you should have no problem getting onto the game.

As for not getting your emails, did you check your junk and spam folders? And the stickied thread about not getting emails.
