If you read through that recruitment and you think we might be the guild for you just ask for an invite and it’ll be headed your way.

I’m a guild leader and I am happy about the multiple guild choices. For me it means that if an AI’er wants to do something like speed clear dungeons they can find somewhere to do it, or if they want to be a top sPvP tournament player they can do that too. I don’t have to make my guild be everything for all people and I still won’t completely lose my guildies to those activities — they go, play, come back. That’s the whole point of multi-guilding I think.

When recruiting I tell people flat out that I won’t always have something that will keep them entertained and they are basically responsible for their own happiness. It seems to work out really well for everyone in the guild, including taking a load off of leadership.

Yes, the Valley weapon skins. I really like the look of the Valley pistol, but GW2DB doesn’t tell me where it drops, or what karma dealer/vendor sells it.

Over at AI we love kitten heads. And beer. At first I thought maybe I shouldn’t tell you about AI so that we could have more beer to ourselves, but then I decided that we can just use the money from the guild bank to buy more. Anyway… Some of us are old (if I told you how old I am you’d feel young), and most of us have to work to keep the kittens from piling up everywhere. Map travel to major cities should be free — there’s no sense sitting through 3 loading screens to save a couple of silver. It’s harder on the servers and harder on the players both.

Besides the elite skill there are also seed turret consumables that can be purchased cheaply with karma. There are quite a few Karma items that have been disabled for use in WvW already — I’d like to see them all disabled.

Seed Turrets, Miners Charges, Golem Bombs — none of these things have any place in WvW. It isn’t just the experimental rifles that cause problems, and to have what amounts to a flimsy arrow cart available cheaply for Karma is not a good addition to the game. Please disallow ALL PvE consumable items from WvW.

To be honest I’d really prefer no consumables at all being used in WvW, but I can understand that allowing food items makes some bit of sense in making and keeping crafting viable — if that guy over there can wear his crafted armor and jewelry then why can’t I eat my crafted food? But, allowing karma vendored items doesn’t. They should all be disallowed.

Please. Having the bag next to the player isn’t enough. WvW is costly enough without missing out on loot that has been rightfully earned.

Where can I find a level 20 – 30 world boss that drops a chest? I’ve looked for the information in wiki, but to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated.

The only times I’ve seen groups happening are guild groups or alliance groups. Guilds add a lot to the MMO experience whether with grouping, sharing drops through the guild bank, fun events or even having people to show you the ropes in WvW.

As a guild leader I am oftentimes leading a band of 15-20 people into WvW where sometimes there are long queues. It would sure be nice if I could see all four maps before making a decision on which queue to enter. Having access to team chat from the B screen/menu to ask where we’re most needed would also work.

We are adding a European branch on the Far Shiverpeaks Gunnars Hold server. I’d love to have everyone on Sorrows Furnace, but some of the European members have complained of latency and lag when they are on the NA servers.

Yes, please. This would make a great guild activity if we could just play together. Keg brawl is far too fun to leave as random arenas, and since the skill bar is changed anyway it doesn’t give huge advantages to go with a team.

Although guild halls didn’t make it in the game for launch AI is full of capable and self-sufficient people, and we’ve created a guild hall of our own. The Crows Nest Tavern in Lions Arch, on the Sorrows Furnace Server, is now our own little baudy house. To find it start at Lions Court near the Traders Forum waypoint, go NW across the bridge, turn right and proceed up many, many, many steps. Table Dancing happens there. If you’re into barroom brawls watch out for Cap’n Smash the golem bouncer.

We’ll be having a group play date Friday, 9/21 at 8:30 pm CDT to take down the Shatterer, meeting at the guild hall at 8:00 CDT and proceeding from there for those that don’t already have the area open. Come join us and see if our guild might be a fun inclusion for your GW2 experience.

Already there are rabbits, raccoons, frogs and mosquitoes in the game, but otters are sadly lacking. I really hope that the devs will consider otters when creating the new guild halls. This game is far too cool to not include otters.

Spider, if you can admin lower levels you can both invite and kick any levels below you. I’d like to see that separated so that I can give my officers the ability to invite without giving them the power to kick.

An example from an instance that has actually occurred in my guild: One of my brand new recruits, who has only been in the guild for a few days, has been posting to our recruitment thread, talking to people who are looking for a guild and being an incredibly good recruiter. And they’ve been doing it in a way that perfectly fits our guild culture. They have shown exceptional initiative, and I’d like to take advantage of that initiative by giving them a few perks and the ability to invite directly. But! I don’t know them well enough at this point to trust them with the ability to kick my guildies. I’d like the opportunity to allow them invite privileges without giving them the power to kick guildmates.

I would love to be able to allow my guildies to invite their friends to the guild, but I don’t want to take chances on new members (or even old members, tbh) getting angry and kicking everyone out of the guild. Although it’s never happened to me or to any guild I’ve been associated with, I’ve heard horror stories about this in the past.

I’d really like for kick to have it’s own special check box control that I can limit to just the leader. Not having this option forces me to limit who I allow to extend invitations.

Alchemy Incorporated playing on Sorrows Furnace

The Guild Bank NPC sometimes says the bank is unavailable. This happens most if the bank has been accessed from an overflow server and then the user travels to the server. So… Player accesses bank, travels, then cannot access bank. At that point even if they move back to an overflow they cannot access the bank.

We are also having problems with people accepting guild invitations and choosing to represent but not being able to see guild chat. Instead the message says they have no guild. These are members and not guild creators or leaders.

Thursday, September 13 at 7:30pm CDTwe’re going to go into WvW and take something, probably a supply camp or tower, away from the bad guys. We’re new to WvW, but it’ll be fun, and there’s a chance we’ll get the monthly requirements completed too. Post on the AI forums at www.alchemyincorporated.net if you want to go along.

Oh, and aren’t dungeons completely optional? I’m up to 50th level in my story and I’ve only completed the 30th level dungeon, so I’m guessing that the story is MY story and the dungeons are Destiny’s Edge story and if I choose to ignore dungeons I can do so and still “finish” the game. I think this actually is the optional, hard, content.

I really hope they don’t make the dungeons easier, even in story mode. The thing is this is the first time through, you aren’t very familiar with your class and its abilities yet. Every class has condition removal, every class has CC — not going in with a glass cannon build and being willing to switch skills or master traits depending on which boss you’re facing at the time is important. But, being difficult this first time, before we’ve learned how the class/encounter/mechanics work gives me hope that it won’t just be a frolic through the park on the 3rd character, or the 8th.

This is an MMO, and I plan to enjoy it for years. Trying to get the devs to make it easier 2 weeks into the game isn’t right. You say, “How was I supposed to know” but now you DO know, and in 2 years when you finally get around to rolling the 8th profession you’re going to seriously KNOW. Right now dungeons, even in story mode, are difficult. I’ll readily admit that. It’s all a learning process. But lets work at learning instead of asking them to make the lesson easier. Figure it out, change your build, go again, if you don’t have the skills you need right now do something else until you can get them, then go again. Someone quitting the game because they didn’t get it easily the very first time is as foolish as asking them to change it because they didn’t get it the first time.

I’ll readily admit that I’m learning to play. Learning what vigor is and how it helps, learning which skills are best for condition removal, and learning to spec in some toughness. Unfortunately, a lot of people say L2P in a nasty and condescending way, when it doesn’t have to be nasty or condescending either one. Ignorance is curable. It’s a process and I’m learning; that doesn’t make me a bad player, it makes me a good player in the making.

Please, A-Net, don’t make this easy for me. Let me learn to play.

Answering questions is really important; maybe more than rezzing. Just keep an eye on the map chat and help a few people out. It’s the right thing to do.

I’ll be honest, I very seldom report people speaking in chat, because I really don’t want to see anyone lose their account, or even get a 3 day time out; and I never do it from an overflow simply because I know different servers develop different social mores — people who play on the 4-Chan server are not going to have the same chat protocols as people who play on the official RP server. But, Sorrows Furnace is my home and I don’t want the truly offensive people in my home, so I do report from there. Just something to think about.

Many of the Dynamic Events in Lornar’s Pass are broken on the Sorrows Furnace server. I saw quite a few that showed “New Event Nearby” but none of the ones I tried to participate in were actually in progress.

AI has reformed for GW2 and we’re looking for a few good people to join the lunacy. We are a social guild that participates in PvE and WvW. We mostly play on the Sorrows Furnace server in the US, but if you aren’t into WvW feel free to join from any server.

We haven’t been actively recruiting for awhile because we have a great group of players at the moment But since the Mission upgrade on 2/26 went live I’ve been seeing a lot of people who are looking for a larger guild to participate with. Our guild is running guild Bounty missions now. Even if you are interested in joining us to participate only in bounties and still prefer to represent another guild at other times that’s fine — we will welcome you.

Activity:
Since most of our roster is over 30 we also understand about kids, jobs, hobbies, aging parents etc. We’re good with you playing when you can. This is a very laid back environment.

The way the AI world works:
The developers, in their infinite wisdom, have allowed for multiple guilds in GW2. We don’t expect to be your only guild or to always have something on tap that will keep you entertained. We will have events and outtings, but it won’t be a constant thing. Go, play, have fun. For some of us AI is home, and if it becomes home for you too, that’s great; but, if you just want to visit, hang out, and have a few laughs that’s great too. Feel welcome to come and go as you please. I expect that all of us, including leadership, will sometimes go visit and play with other guilds. The one request is that if you are teaming with another guildie please represent AI so that we can get the influence. This isn’t a mandate, it’s just a request — we understand that there might be times when it seems more appropriate to represent another guild. We just ask that you keep our influence in mind too.

We have a group of allies that we have played with for several years. Their rules are different from ours and the rating in alliance chat is G to PG Light. Plus, they hug and stuff. shudder But, all in all they are great fun. Treat them as well as you would an AI’er and save the colorful language/stories for guild chat.

One of the best sites for basic guides is www.guldwars2hub.com. Sardu has a TON of guides for beginners, on many different topics ranging from keg brawl to boons and sigils to profession guides. Go look. You’ll like it.

There is a Durmond Priory camp very near the Ascalonian Catacombs that has two events that run pretty frequently; both are defense quests, one from harpies and one from ghosts. You can collect a lot of glittering dust and blood from those two events.

I know that influence earned is world specific, but I’m wondering what happens to influence that is gained in overflow servers. Does it go to the guild’s home world or is it just lost to the ether? After spending the initial influence gained from tomes of influence I’m starting to worry a bit about influence gain it seems very slow.

From what I’ve seen it’s sort of both. The crafting drops — tiny claws, weak blood, garment scraps — are all area appropriate, while magic drops are level appropriate. White drops seem to be both. I never pay attention to how many coins drop though, so I don’t know about those, but I would expect they are area appropriate.
