Getting this bug as of today.. absolute shambles!!!
No access to guild bank, cant see guild chats and cant provide guild influence.. As I am the guild leader it would be nice to actually be able to use the tools provided instead we are getting this rubbish.
FIX or be done with the game!
Edit – The bug is occurring with the Lions Arch Guild merchants/ NPC’s it seems, as flipping to other maps with Guild Bank services appears to rectify the issue.. but as soon as I head back to LA I become a non representing player in the guild and have no access to any guild services, chat etc.
So if its not too much trouble ANET maybe your people can figure out the rest and also maybe fix the horrendous guild bank lag noticeable when moving things in and out of guild bank

Aurora Glade, you’re even worse then FSP. Whilest we’re attempting to take our bay back with 65 players, vs 50-Odd FSP sitting on their siege, you came to Golem Rush the rest of our (Tier1/Tier2) map, 3 Omegas 4 Alpha’s. Yes, we’ve been tracking you all the way, but I (The Commanding player at that time) Decided to kill FSP at all costs.
- Archi
So, you let all your t1/t2 fall just because u wanted to kill FSP? You srs?
I think you should stop complaining about other servers and make better choices in commanding :pPS: AG hits us alot too (multiple times our T3 garri/bay/hills) so don’t be paranoid and think you’re the only “enemy” :p
Like someone said earlier, you can’t see the action on other borders..Cheers
Nicely put.. you want a job on UW?
Question, If both factions, Aurora Glade and Far Shiverpeaks like open field fights so much. And some “resistance” Why don’t you attack each other? It’s always Underworld Borderlands that gets hit by both groups.
Fact is, we can’t split our zergs to hold double Golem Rushes when both teams are superior to us in power/size.
- Archi
you seem to have trouble looking at things in an objective, scientific way. let me help you with some things to think about:
1. maybe the factions that talk on the forums about open field battles are different players than the people who run their whatever-sized-groups?
2. its always underworld that gets hit by the others in your point of view because you obviously cant see the view of others. this seems also to be the case with all the conspiracy people who are convinced that double teaming happens.
it is just an opportunity. little commanding lesson for you since you dont seem too experienced: if you see a battle marker on the map, grab something else while people are busy.
I think you hit the nail on the head and I am an Underworld player.. shame I missed the fun today, sounds like our chat channel would of been filled with whines and tears.. though likely tears of laughter after reading yours and Terro’s replies to the whiney commander
On a personal note I have seen no such evidence of double teaming and as for open field sieging I think we have done our fair share of it as well this week so not sure why “Eagle” is so incensed about it.. especially as the “Underworld Commander” has been strangely de-tagged most of the week, instead choosing to hole up in Quentin or Bravost for the duration…. guess numbers superiority weren’t there to be confident of accomplishing map domination under his tag.
Siege is part of the games mechanics, its there to be used by all and there are ranking points to add into it, sure none of us like to see nothing but siege wars, but it has its place and everyone has their own preferences especially if a player has decided to pile ranking points into AC’s.. otherwise why bother.
It’s been a decent week, some good battles with both AG and FSP and I wish you both all the best in your next battles
Try this version of Fear not the Night… love Malukah’s voice and the instrumental parts are simply awesome…
- Archi
Considering you used the FoG tag, it kind of shows how far behind you are, we haven’t used that tag for what 4 months now?
SWD pull those numbers daily. SPGR and the new SPGR cut off guild also pull large numbers, PAX, TKON, Mayh also pull good numbers too. I cant talk for the eb guilds since i don’t visit there often but they always have a full border so many of them will pull daily numbers such as RAIN and APE.
Mayh is a mixed focus guild, we run events of every part of the game not just wvw so we dont go daily but we have at least 2 wvw events a week not including reset always, with many players running together at peak anyway so please don’t talk about something you know nothing about. In fact mayh pulls over 30 players each week to reset and have done for longer than your guild has existed, i brought up the number when speaking to the AG clan we were fighting on reset, it wasn’t boasting in the slightest. For a Guild which isn’t WvW focused im fine with those numbers, 46 out of 70 players in wvw is awesome so of course i was excited :P
On reset the server teamspeak had closer to 100 players online from 5 or so guilds and pugs, which is fine in my eyes considering we recently moved here
WvW isn’t a job, and not many guilds on UW are only wvw focused, so spend less time slating everyone else and work on your own guild… look at the rest of the thread, the rest of us are having plenty of fun, maybe if you spent less time raging on the forum you would enjoy wvw.
Do you really think slagging off all of the other guilds is a good way to unite anyone? :P
I support this idea of fun
Its pointless responding I just spent the best part of 20mins in game being told by Archi that UW needs serious training cos no one listens there’s no decent guilds putting numbers out and many of us shouldn’t be WvW cos were all too PvE focused so don’t belong in these matchups…. talk about trying to unite the clans with ways of praise ):
As for guilds, it seems there is only one guild that is putting out (according to one person) but I have to agree its not all about EB and across UW there are some pretty decent guilds putting consistent support into our matchups, but unfortunately many of us cant be on 24/7 let alone 6-7 hours a day.
I log in most days for some fun but I have began to drift from EB to UW or opposing maps where actually there are some very good, very aware guilds and commanders who don’t need to rely on berating others and choo choo trains
Am I really the only Underworld player who sees this as a week of horror?
We don’t cover anything during the week. These people put up resistance! :O
We only pull decent zergs against small servers, Ring of Fire & Blacktide, that week we had 3-4 maps filled every day.I’m afraid this week its going to be :
Eternal Battlegrounds: Queue
Homeborder : 10 Defenders, the gummies, and when they ring the alarm bell we’ll pull off 50 to 60 reinforcements from our natnional reserves in Lions Arch.
Enemy Borderlands : Off limits. Our soldiers are not trained enough, and I havent seen any serious damage done by any of our guilds in a long time. No offence, but we have no extremly organised guilds, best we can do is dust off some SWD players and sent them to battle, but that’ll be 20-25 tops.
I don’t mean to offend any of my fellow servermates, but I command 6-7 hours a day, and I havent spotted any guilds yet that can match our oponents organisation, VcY couldnt even be dealt with with our pugs. I hope I am strongly mistaken, but I fear that the best we’re going to show up with is homeborder defence, and Eternal Battlegrounds blobbing in 70-85 man groups from 12:30 till 01:30.
I’m not experienced with Aurora Glade, but I fear we, a mainly pug server named Underworld, will not meet your expectations.
Ok, enough negatvity. I’ll see you on the fields of Eternal Battleground
-Archi
Underworld Commander
Says the commander who thinks blobbing 20+ golems wins all and if it doesn’t then its everyone elses fault…. you need to chill out Archi. Sorry to say but your not as good a commander as you think you are and your 6-7 hours a day has often been met with 6-7 hours of foul mouthed kittening cos you couldn’t take SM over and over.
I respect you have the courage to tag on and try to make a difference, but rather than blaming everyone else on the map take a time out and consider your own part in it.
We may be mae up of pugs a lot and we may not be a strong a server as the earlier days in WvW but we still do alright and for many of us its about fun not “we must win or I am not playing anymore”
On a personal not I would add that so far this matchup has proven to be pretty decent, some good action and a learning curve for future engagements with these AG and FSP. Sure AG like to blob but actually so do UW at times.. just 3 hours ago some comm thought the only way to take SM was to try and blob with countless numbers of golems.. only to be met with complete failure each time and of course felt scorning others was the best way to excuse the fact that tactically we were out manoeuvred, tactically inferior and far too focused on one thing . SM, which had only recently been turned wooden… all the 6 or 7 failed attempts did was to fuel the comms disdane of his followers and result in many players porting out to LA, or other maps or worse to just log off….
So just quit with the overbearing attitude and learn to enjoy the match-ups.. I mean I didn’t hear you complain all too much on the last match up when it was UW ripping everything apart due to the imbalance favouring us.
I got a couple of questions for youa….. how is one meant to play in WvW when there is such horrendous skill lagging whenever there is any kind of sizeable engagement going on or are battles meant to be 1v1v1 or 5v5v5 max!!
How does one combat flying, speedhacking, teleporting and outright cheating that has become rife in WvW.. and please don’t say its not happening cos its getting worse every week imo.
Not just you.. lots of complaints on Underworld Eternal Battlegrounds.. its got unplayable and I am not just talking within a 3-way SM lagfest… small tower skirmishes are seeing the old skill lag issues become so ridiculous.. but I guess ANET doesn’t care otherwise it would do something about this… sure some might be our side on occasion but this skill lag and lag glitching is effecting far too many players now for it to be anything other than server side!
I’ve been trying and trying and trying to get the General Explorer achievement “The Long Way Round” but to no avail.
Due to the mix of poor camera system in GW2, the seemingly impossible amount of risen hands surrounding each datapad and … yes my obviously pathetic ability to dodge and time the corruption AOE… I find this achievement to be a little beyond me.
There is supposedly meant to be a cheats way round of course, but that’s for those that prefer that course of action. I have also ran this countless times with another player in group to pull the corruption shots to them while I attempt to turn off the pads but there in lies another issue.. having to stop and troll thro the shut down process for a couple of seconds just gets me tagged by another risen hands corruption AOE and so after countless hours trying I guess I am resigned to failure on this one, unless anyone can offer some hope.

Wow you really are the original spoilt brat… only thing I see here is someone who failed to master the game of chance and proceeded to throw toys out of the pram.
You knew the risk, you chose to spend the coin.. but you did WIN.. at wasting your money and your time writing this thread.
Lazmira I dodge and all still die when I am in a higher level area cause its for level 80’s not levels lower then that. And as for the website I read them and go in game just as confused as I was before I read it. Cause the Show me Email shows a circle that is not even open half the time. Them telling us what is going on and what things are does nothing with finding it and when they put it in a level 80 area its a waste of time for lower levels to go after it when its to hard even at an upscale to do anything. We do not have the armour or the weapons or the build to get through it.
superbeast….we have been through this already that show me email shows absolutely nothing other then a circle in a area thats covered up. So how would anyone know how to even get there. I have not done events since I started playing the game cause they are always to hard and places I cannot get to. Sorry but some of us are not fanboys and can just run through stuff like everyone else. I never played the first Guild Wars so I do not know nothing about it. All I know is that I die anytime I try the event content and half the time I cannot find it less I am dragged along by someone thats just going to take my loot and xp for partying them anyway.
Wow 4 hrs to get round Lions Arch to find a dock, that’s impressive I have to say and then you still obviously failed to look at the map and see the Living Story graphic icon there when a map zone is uncovered. I really wouldn’t advise you to actually step outside your own front door for fear of getting lost and certainly never making it to the shops in time before they close.
The email doesn’t just show you a circle in an unexplored part of the world map, you need to read the mail not just open and close it.. it states how you get there.. the docks in LA… and the map has a graphic on it pin pointing the docks. I sense you want everything to be spoon fed to you. Surely the first thing you do in any game with explorable areas is to explore your home map then.. Lions Arch (in GW2’s case) then you move out from there.. even your personal story takes you to places in order for you to explore.
As for level scaling, there is nothing wrong with it at all.. you wanna solo everything then expect some tough stuff especially if you want to upscale onto a map that you don’t know what to expect, so get into a group.
Of course as it is Openworld PvE then you can just jump and engage mobs, bosses and events that are already activated by others in the area…. you still get rewarded if you do enough to tag for a reward. To say you can’t last more than 25 seconds is more to do with you than the game mechanics…. knowing your enemy moves, skills and when to use your dodges, counters, interrupts just comes all the way back to L2P I am afraid.
(edited by Bloodstealer.5978)
I think we have all been trolled by this poster… or Rune is incredibly lazy.
If you don’t know where the docks are in LA then its about time you got looking. LA is a safe haven for map exploration and without it you cant expect to find travel points to some of these events. So don’t be lazy or just stop trolling.
As for content being for lvl 80’s.. meeeehhhh what a typically care bear comment.. every map zone is lvl scaleable, group up and try them then come back and tell us how its all a bit too much for you.
Sorry but this is about either a L2P whinner or someone looking for the cookie jar.
Pretty sure that if you have already looted a basket then when it appears again and you loot it the bags pop out but sink into the floor and are not lootable again until some form of reset.
As much as I laughed at your light hearted emotes around the issues I absolutely agree that for some players these issues are a continual mare.. not like a lag issue which comes and goes in busy game times/ISP times but just perma there.
I haven’t had these issues myself but have seen and spoke to others that do and its definitely gotten worse.
Personally I really like this current inception of the Living Story, its a demon of a place to get around in order to obtain the achieves but real fun in a nicely designed map (clap to devs) but these game mechanics are spoiling it for many it seems.
Another issue I have been getting is when opening the parachute chests.. the sacks pop out and sink into the floor and become unlootable.. must of had at least a dozen do this in last few hours… add the WP costs and time spent doing these map collectables this kind of scam mechanic is a tad frustrating .
u obviously are from the lucky ones cos i saw and seeing atm people that make 20-30-40 and still dead whats the fun i ask? they do these things to make people have fun… and where is that? u depend to mesmers to make it happen? all other characters bad? so not only bad designer but against all not mesmers! completely worthless in every way the only thing u get as a reward are bad nerves.
What on earth are you going on about… Why do you have to depend on Mesmers?
What you mean is you do not have the patience to work out the puzzle path, jumps and dive location for yourself.
I and many others did the puzzle and the dive master achieve in the first few hours, never using a Mesmer, and having to deal with all the silly lag and worse than usual graphics culling due to the are being so busy… sure it took a few goes to work out the optimum spot to dive from and in general it is a little more tricky than the ones in LA but cmon this is just a .. “im lazy, port me please post for EZMODE achievement”.
I for one am glad that ANET have put some nastiness in their jump puzzles… there is nothing in the puzzle that remotely requires you to use a Mesmer port, just takes a bit of patience, perseverance and skill.
@Crazylegmurphy.6430
Re Stealing – Oh please cmon your telling me your crying foul cos someone in an OPENWORLD environment happens to run past and grabs a kill or two is really an issue. Sure it maybe un asked for but the key is… its OPENWORLD and as such if another player or players enter your immediate vicinity the first thing that happens is trash mobs will respawn faster.. if its a vet/champ/boss mob you will have more than enpugh time (or should) to get enpugh of a tickle on it to ensure your chance of a loot drop is registered….. stealing – — – please be more sensible and less sensitive.
Re Griefing… yip I agree this has been a paing, but then again show me an MMO where there is no opportunity to do this… maybe a few but many still allow it, mainly because you cant always eliminate human nature or maybe even a call of nature.
Re Griefing – its an MMO with global participation and has been in game as long as RNG has. Added to that you mention WvWvW… which part of that don’t you understand, what you call griefing in WvWvW, I call good tactics. Its not just a jump puzzle, the main prize from OS is the badges and the blueprints for.. oh yes using against your opponents. I Any good WvWvW server will want to try to limit an opponents siege supply – that is not griefing that is sound tactic. Sure ANET have placed a cache in there for a limited amount of time… but if you want it and the achievement then you first have to weigh up the risk and rewards based on the fact it is in a battlezone and you might just fall foul of enemy tactics.. you call it griefing, I call it fair game.. consider going in with a group or rally others on the server to help out., cos I believe going solo can make you too cranky anyway!
Re Living Story against player time.. sorry but how do you expect ANET to design their content.. go back to old game models and admit defeat with their ideas on creating a fresh method of delivering Living Story openworld content that is open to all and that incorporates its own set of goals in order to progress the story. The develop content that already incorporates lengthy timescales from chapter to chapter – what more can they do except maybe put in some kind of time freeze to extend the £experience" until all the players have gotten there achievements then move on
Re Grinding/RNG – Its MMO show me one that doesn’t incorporate a grind… you see that term is open to interpretation imo. what you consider to be a grind I may say isn’t (see what I did there). No one forces you to undertake any grind that you don’t want to, but if you really cant do without the achieves then that’s you choice.
RNG is as old as the hills, you perhaps don’t realise every time you looted a chest, scavenged items off a corpse RNG has always been hidden behind it. Some items can be bought some you just got to roll the dice and take your chance… if your buying things like coffers then that’s your risk.. your certainly not forced to buy anything in GW2 its player preference. Perhaps you had not realised but ANET/NcSoft are not charity organisations and as such needs hooks to entice you, me and all the playerbase to part with some cash, nothing wrong with that – businesses all over the globe utilise the very same conditions in order to generate a profit.
Re Achievements – What is it you consider to be the larger percentage of players… the few who have whinned about not being able to do the AR dungeon cos if that is your sample size I am sorry but I think your way off. I would hazard a guess that the larger percentage of the actual game population does not see any issues..
As I said in your other thread I can support dungeon scaling as long as the trade offs are absolute and don’t allow the game to be walked thro on EASY MODE… when you say it makes many players cranky.. care to prove that cos again I think your sadly in the minority on that one
(edited by Bloodstealer.5978)
So, you basically want to go back to the old model with a bit new content every 6 months or so?
People don’t NEED to do the achievements. The rewards you get for doing them are cosmetic and isn’t required to play the game.
The Living story is trying to make the world seem alive, and for it to seem alive stuff must keep happening at a rather rapid pace, otherwise it would just feel weird.
Are you so sure it has to be an all, or nothing solution?
I don’t NEED to play the game at all. I WANT to play the game. However, of the tasks I’m being presented with are consistently requiring large amounts of time to complete, yet are only available for a limited time, it becomes futile.
Your last argument is incorrect. There is a difference between a flashy, car salesman approach, and a personal, well considered, well paced story.
Sorry but I am leaning towards agreement with Lordkrall here… the Living Story is .. living its a particular place and time in Tyria when something happens, is happening.. just like real life. To be honest one of my complaints about Living Story is the long pauses in between many of the acts and chapters.
Lordkrall answered you in a civil manner and presented a decent counter to your opinions… the content is temporary for a reason.. its the replication of real life in a story world and as such as the saying goes time is fleeting.
If you WANT to play the game, then that is great but to play the game you need to understand what ANET is seeking to do.. going back to the tired model of releasing a new dungeon or a raid that over a period of time becomes nothing more entertaining that a CoF1 speedrun isn’t the way this game was planned to head. ANET are trying something different, they are giving us something every few weeks that offers something new (not necessarily new by mechanics but new in way of Tyrian story life… but like in RL you ned to keep abreast of events, and follow it best you can, but just like inn RL sometimes other things get in the way of seeing out certain events and conclusions… I too have a busy family life and a business to run, so I understand nif sometimes I cant see something through to the end, sucks I know but that’s life sometimes).
You have repeatedly complained about not being able to see the story out due to your time constraints and I understand this but at the same time if they made players continually wait longer periods of time for players like you to say, spend an extra week or two lighting some effigies or smashing some candy dolls (which is already paused to the mas imo) then the LS will likely dissuade more players to keep partaking than the scenario you are trying to paint for us.
As for Lordkrall bordering on the ridiculous with his counter believe it is more ridiculous on your part for you to want to not be open to others views and resort to rudeness.. yes not unheard on a forum but it kind of shows your not really taking in what he and others are trying to say.
In regards to low levels being excluded, this is not true as to some degree level scaling allows for inclusion, but I buy into the fact that level scaling in GW2 can at times be about as useful as a chocolate tea cup and when coming up against content that is somewhat more challenging in tactics, mechanic’s and of course skills.. this may need to be better handled.
(edited by Bloodstealer.5978)
Really? Can you quote where I said I should be able to stand there and spam “1”, never move and always win?
Do you ever respond without exaggerating or making Straw Man arguments?
I never said you have said that, I said you SEEM to be thinking that, since quite clearly loads of people is fully able to complete the dungeon you are clearly doing something very wrong. And based on the dungeon itself that scenario is more or less the only plausible one.
I’m sorry, but the only one who seems to be thinking that….is you. And quite clearly…you are wrong about the second part as well.

Would you like more links to threads by players that are having issues?
Look, I’m not saying it’s not doable. You need to start listening, and stop trying to turn everything into a Straw Man argument. Honestly!
small sample is small sample I am afraid.. forumites likely account for less than 1% of the game population just like every other MMO forum out there.
For every post screaming nerf it, there will be a counter within each thread so I would most definitely consider your and the other few postings to be in the minority here.
@Crazylegsmurphy.6430
Your correct, all players are not equal, that’s exactly how it should be… I hated the Mad King Clock Tower cos it was just not suiting my play style.. but I worked at it until I adapted. This dungeon requires players to do the same.. maybe change your build a little maybe change your tactics.. either way its not a gimmee and should not be considered so. If you miss parts of the story then so be it, you simply are not up to it, no disrespect but that is not ANETs fault.
Sorry but it is you who is missing the point .. no content or achievement should be a gimmee.. you want that go find some P2W game that offers it.Why should something be dumbed down to accommodate you when many others have taken the time to learn it and adapt to it and overcome it.
I couldn’t disagree with you more.
GW2, and the Living Story are not for the elite. No one says it has to be a “gimme” but if they’re going to advertise this to everyone, it has to be accessible to everyone. It doesn’t need to be dumbed down, it needs to have options.
We all payed for this game, and we all support it. No one should be denied access to the story because ANet feels they have to cater to the top players. As pixelpumpkin said so well above, this needs to accommodate the majority of players.
My solution above also provides options for all levels.
There you go again.. honestly what isn’t accessable to you.. cos everything about the LS is accessable to everyone.. you just haven’t mastered it as yet, and by the sounds of it never will.
So where is this the fault of the game or ANET.. the fault lays with you and your group tactics/builds..nothing more, nothing less.
You are making this event out to be exclusive … like I said nothing is a gimmee you have to work at it and thankfully ANET have put something in which does provide some kind of challenge… in whatever form they have put it in.
No, sorry this is now beginning to seem like a hard luck story gone sour. My suggestion would be to dust yourselves off, buckle up and go again until you finally crack it… just like the plethora of other players have done.
Simple fact is that the content is there for all to play out… all you have to do is be good enough to achieve it…. it has nothing to do with being content for the ELITE.. my 14yr old completed it about an hour ago and he rarely plays GW2 and like me he is definitely not an ELITE player.
As for your notion of difficulty scaling, sure I can get behind that but the risk reward scenario should reflect it.. you wanna go faceroll easymode then don’t expect any achievement points or special snowflake end of story reward until you have upped your game. But as others have already said – to undertake content like this with all the options and changes based on difficulty, it would not warrant being temporary event content and would justifiably take longer to develop and implement.. then lets sit back and read all the flame wars to ANET about not releasing content quick enough etc, etc. No matter what difficulty this dungeon is put out at, someone will always feel aggrieved and scream nerfbat to ANET.. when in all honesty the real issue lies much closer to home imo.

Sorry, but this group is amazing because of our ability to have fun, and work together. We have had no issues with any other dungeons. We figure out the mechanics, and work quite well at solving them.
This however was beyond our abilities. We all knew what to do, but simply couldn’t do it. After hours of trying we got sick of trying and gave up. We knew the mechanics, we knew what the solution was, but we couldn’t make it happen.
While I appreciate your feedback, to generalize and assume that we’re just “not good enough” to complete the dungeon is a tad insulting.
And yet it is fully possible to complete the dungeon with a pug-group, even for a average player as myself.
Which part is it that is currently the issue?
If you knew what was happening and what to do but yet couldn’t doing there were clearly something done wrong somewhere.
The part that is the issue is that ANet’s solution to difficulty is to up the damage and things than damage, to the point where players spend more time getting knocked down, than actually playing.
For example. When fighting Mai, I am running around avoiding getting bombed because the bombs can knock off a bunch of my damage, making me unable to effectively fight Mai (when shields are down). The problem is, that if I stray too far, she will shadow lunge at me, and insta-kill me.
So, while I understand what to do…I am unable to complete the task because despite doing what is needed, the mechanics have been designed so unless I am of a specific build, level, or whatever….I run the risk of instantly dying.
Then, the problem is that my group, who is trying their best to not die as well, are tasked with trying to get me back up. The problem is that the fight has almost no pauses, so they risk getting killed trying to get me up.
Then, even if they get me up. I’m so low on HP, that trying to recover, while avoiding another insta-kill from Mai, long enough to get to the cannon fire….which insta-kills me.
So, while you may argue that suddenly my build sucks (even though I’ve been able to get through almost all the other content), the fact is that the mechanics are too unforgiving for me to be able to complete the dungeon. I’m not sure what I could do beyond being forced to create another class.
There is your first issue.. Mai should not be able to 1 hit you.. yes she hits hard but this spells one thing only to me.. your build isn’t specced right for it, not the mechanics of the fight being bad.
Secondly if your group is running round like headless chickens avoiding cannon fire then expect the floor to become covered.. if you could relatively grouped and running the same direction you might find it more evadable.. you say your a decent group that work well together, so this should not of been to harder task to work out.
Thirdly if someone is unfortunate to run out of evades or find they have one hit stats during cannon fire.. don’t try ressing them while its still happening.. keep yourself alive and wait it out… then res the fallen but even then you should by now be aware that Mai will target you while ressing so be ready to evade or just keep ressing then running then repeat… A guardian tanking here for a bit is more than enough to get the dead raised. Its only more difficult when there is only one of you alive and trying to ress everyone… but that comes back to other things mentioned previously.
Honestly this is the first dungeon they have brought in that isn’t just a faceroll exercise to suit the zerker brigade it does require some tactic, some group behaviour and yes some luck and patience… nothing wrong with that in my eyes especially when PUGS’s are more than capable of completing it so easily.
Key requirements I found for this pretty early on… decent stats, know when to use your evades, group buffs/heals and make sure you have some stability and / or condition removal .. forewarned is forearmed. And please don’t tell me your class or classes cant have all these things… my little necro has failed it only twice and one of those was in the first 15mins, the second was actually last night, late and the group were too tired to try Mai a second time…. but no biggy, having things easily face rolled over and over gets old very quickly.. THIS GAME NEEDS MORE DIFFICULTY NOT LESS!
You mean you aren’t able to master the lasers so its to hard.. hmmm took a few attempts to learn how the lasers run and tbh I don’t see any issues with it as long as players are willing to learn.
This dungeon is the first one in GW2 imo that requires a bit more than “link zerker gear or don’t apply”… it requires a bit of working out.. use a runner to lay down AOE or signets to grab aggro from the golems.. rest run the lasers and when the small laser catches up, simply jump up on the crates to avoid jump back down and keep targeting the golems.. not really that hard. The worst part for me is 3 times now the group has got passed the Fizz room got chest, carried on into next Aetherblade mobs, then all of a sudden we all get booted out to LA.. maybe someone leaves or DC’s and the rest of us get thrown out as well… but this is another issue for them to sort!
To avoid lasers is easy but there is no way how to counter golems pull and if they will pull you you will die in 70% times.
And there is also problem, maybe bug, when lasers appearing they can appear right where you are and again this mean certain death.
Dungeon is not too hard but this part realy needs improvements.
They can be avoided.. look for bars then react accordingly. Also the golem pull can be avoided if you keep out of range.. try damage then run tactic or better still use symbols/wells or normal AOE then move.. thing is not to tank them unless your confident you can take the damage once your pulled and stunned.
LOL I can’t believe this thread.
OMG Anet content is too easy we need harder dungeons.
OMG Anet content is too hard we need easier dungeons.
WTF is wrong with you people! This dungeon is the CORRECT amount of difficulty. .
No it isn’t.
I’ve 1 shot Frizz with pugs and defeated the last boss after 1 wipe because the pugs couldn’t run out of red circles.
If I’d make a dungeon most GW2 players would start crying after the first pull.
Then I’d suggest you go play some other game. GW2 isn’t for you.
TBH.. I think maybe that advice might be more fitting for you.. everything you have posted in this thread just spells FAIL, lack of skill and patience.
Sorry to sound harsh but when you construct your posts the way you have in order to attack the game, the players etc etc.. I am thinking there is only one person to blame……
This trash is unfixable! The same unfun garbage by the tards that brought us Personal Story. I’m going to play Neverwinter, wake me when this ordeal is over. :p
Awww someone else not up to the task so it must be the game is bad rather than lack of skill and patience… enjoy your sleep…
Neverwinter will likely rock, but its still aways away yet.. and who knows Spring might become summer might become winter… its not unheard of for new MMO’s to push the seasons back until the bean counters say go…
This is by far the worst instance ANet has made.
I’m fairly certain they never even play-tested this instance.
Let me try to spell it out for the ANet team:
RNG IS NOT FUN. RNG IS NOT FUN. RNG IS NOT FUN. RNG IS NOT FUN. RNG IS NOT FUN. RNG IS NOT FUN. RNG IS NOT FUN. RNG IS NOT FUN. RNG IS NOT FUN. RNG IS NOT FUN. RNG IS NOT FUN. RNG IS NOT FUN. Well this kinda shows why you cant complete it.. what has RNG got to do with this thread, your level of ability is obviously as high as your ability to type trash.
All you have done in this thread is moan, whine and lay blame in all places except the one that really counts…. YOU.
As if you hadn’t had your fill already you then go on and make out " The end of the world is nigh, the servers are dying .. cos its all too hard for you".
Well seems like there are plenty of LFG’s up 24/7 at the moment on Underworld and likely other servers too… then again I don’t have issues getting groups on any map for any content still even with the Pirates and Bash live at same time…. its all in your head, unless of course you got some actual proof.
The dungeon is more than doable, you just obviously don’t possess the skills and patience in order to achieve it… not every dungeon/event/mob is designed to be speed run like CoF 1.. I say well done ANET for growing some spheres and putting out content that needs some effort.
You mean you aren’t able to master the lasers so its to hard.. hmmm took a few attempts to learn how the lasers run and tbh I don’t see any issues with it as long as players are willing to learn.

How seriously annoying.
After 4 attempts with a pug we finally got past Fizz in the lazer room, grabbed loot from chest and proceeded on, in the next fight we were just taking down the final mob when … zap.. the whole group gets ported out of the instance and back to LA… cheers ANET!
Then I find that cant interact with any NPC either, cant activate bank or use the forge… totally borked!
Mmm, mmm, sure. Wiki also says that permanent hairstyle contracts drop from BL chests. Do they? No. I know what the wiki page says on magic find. Did the people writing this paragraph on magic find open dragon coffers, a relatively new type of RNG loot that requires no keys to open them? No. I did my part of the testing. You do yours. In the end, all people are interested in is getting a ticket. I’m describing the way in which I consistently received mine.
Errm yes they do drop from BL kits…. and name changes and total makeover kits… I’ve got them stowed still.. Ill grab a screenie when I am online once the patch has downloaded…
Your sample size in just insignificant.. its purely RNG, MF doesn’t affect the loot in them, just the chance to drop them from kills.
I quite often stick my MF gear on, especially when trying to grab as many coffers as possible in a short space of time. I am a chef crafter so I eat my Ommie cakes and stick on a guild MF boost. I have looted in excess of 3K coffers so far and all to no avail… occasionally I get lucky and have gotten say 3 mini’s some cakes and lots of candy from every 100 coffers, sometimes I get practically nothing.. certainly no Jade tickets.
Even when I forget about MF the only difference is the amount of coffers I can grab in an hour perhaps, the loot from them is practically the same though sometimes a lot better… its called RNG.
Now please play nicely and stop with the “my way is right, your wrong” fail attempts at calling players out, if you did some hunting around the forums you would of perhaps also seen the dev statements on MF.. in fact there have been several since Beta iirc.
Snowballing was much better designed and thought out.. Dragonabll is nothing more than a waste of time imo… exploitable results.. who in their right mind is going to want to jump into to a Dragonball game when the score is already 460 – 40 with your team consisting of 1 try hard and 2 -3 AFK lay downs… ANET has so much fail when it comes to team match ups (WvW has shown this already). No idea what the solution is but before any mini game of this nature gets put into game it should at least be better thought through… snowball fights and the Mad King min games were a lot better by far.
As for Moa racing.. agree ….why would we want that to stay in game.. but of course we all know the real answer don’t we!
I agree with above posters ^
Mai Trin’s voice acting was over the top. Also, I would have created her as an NPC with no name in the first instance; then maybe her involvement would have come as a little more of a surprise.
However, all in all, it was still pretty awesome and a huge step up! The cultural representatives were particularly fun.
Well I am glad you found it enjoyable… but for me when a murder mystery is put in front of me the least I would expect is to actually have to go track down the suspects that fled the scene, investigate their stories and look for evidence … what we got was a few lines from some NPC’s that were already found and marked on our maps.. go speak give three options on how we want to ask them to come back to LA.. then…. well then that’s it.. the only reason it took more than 10minutes to finish is because ANET dragged it out over a number of days.. hell if you spoke to Lionguard Kiel she already told you where the last 2 suspects were before the in game mail/clue/map location were given to us.
Sorry but I seriously hope this Living Story thing improves massively because in theory it should be all encompassing to the PvE environment much like raids used to be in other MMO chain events…. so far this has been the worst one for me, unfortunately its beginning to feel like ANET’s creative juices are running on empty and are beginning to regret making such bold statements in their manifesto about going away from traditional questing/ raiding and drawn out grinding… cos tbh every update seems to push it back a little more towards the traditional.
I don’t mind a bit of grind or gear progression, but this Living Openworld idea sounded really exiting and provides the basis for so much creative thinking… someone back at HQ needs to bang heads though imo.
Yep I already posted my comments on this in another thread…
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/dragonbash/Marjory-s-Journal/first#post2250304
Cant believe how poor the story was allowed to unfold and reach its end.. damp squib much…. I just hope there is another piece of the story still to land, and that this really wasn’t all we got.
from firework displays that either failed to display or couldn’t be viewed due to trash camera mechanics, a dragonball mini game suited to cheats, and time wasters forcing the achievements to be pulled from the bash totals, an RNG bird race aimed at reducing in game coin so that we would all feel we had to go play the “Press F” mini games whilst chasing the elusive special snowflake tickets. Of course ANET knew all the coin killing through gambling on birds, waypointing to locations and of course placing a fruitless grind of coffers would likely steer us all back to the gem store… and it has probably worked handsomely for them… least they could of done was actually put some effort in making the story more fulfilling and less anti-climatical imo.. but hey ho I await the next batch of RNG chest threads for the next event
Seriously hope there is more to come to this Living Story.. kitten far its been nothing more than read mail waypoint to map, run or waypoint to a place on map where there is a star.. press F, leave .. rinse repeat.. smack a few candy sacks, gamble coin on a bird then enter a cutscene or two, kill a handful of trash mobs then … collect a journal (nice idea and I hope it gets more use as time goes on) but it needs a bank slot as others have said, otherwise it just takes up another item slot in the backpack.
Otherwsie release additional bank slot upgrades.
This whole event has been nothing more than a feeble way of taking in game coin out of the players while filling the carrot cake with RNG in an attempt bore us into buying more gems, coffers etc instead of farming them. Oooh and don’t lets even get into the mess that is called Dragonball
Sorry ANET, I like the idea of Living Story but you really need to actually make stories worthwhile getting to the end of.. this was just a damp squib, just like the fireworks.
What’s worse you succeeded in fleshing out this poorly thought out content a month..
Was there really a need to put in an investigation box with nothing really to investigate, the suspects are all marked on maps so there is no challenge in finding them when they have supposedly ran away from a crime scene.. kinda like Ronny Biggs fleeing to his nearest Post Office to wait outside for the police to say can you go to your nearest police station if you don’t mind, when u have some time.
Sorry… 5/10 from me and that’s only cos I still like the idea of a Living Story in game but this one so far has been poor imo and tonight was such ante climax to what feels like it should of been a pretty big part of the storyline.

OP I think you might be doing it wrong IMO…….. see what I did there!
Who are you to say who should do what any particular way, its a players preference, you do it yours, others will do it theirs – some might agree and do it your way, others might choose to WP and take the financial hit to get it done and dusted or many others might just do a bit of both whilst completing other in game goals they might have set themselves.
Currently if you buy ALL the taffy needed it would cost 60g. That is the price the wings were selling for at the start of the event so it seems pretty reasonable to me.
The wings cost less than 15 g now, so it doesn’t seem al that reasonable at all. Also, its true that the wings will cost more after the event, but the same will happen to taffy (and for the same reason – no more supply).
And i don’t acually expect wings to rise too much – they weren’t that desirable even during the event, and after that the hype will be gone and there will be new flavor of the month skins to concentrate on.Also:
1. No.
2. The candy will be sticking around through the coffers that are available via the TP and the candy available there. Much like Candy Corn it will cease to drop in the open world but will still be available on the TP.
3. There is no current plan to offer Jorbreakers by any other reward mechanism.
4. Yes. The Zhaitaffy Merchant will be a permanent addition to the game sitting in Fort Mariner.so, the nr 2. answer is also “No.” it seems. Figures. Also, lol at nr 1. answer. I just can’t keep reading it as anything else than “We intended the price to be ridiculous”.
I think you will find there will be a constant supply of candy for a whiles to come… I think ANET will make sure its there…. just like the Halloween stuff… all this is nothing more than ways to leech in game coin out of the game to allow the gem sale carrots to a greater chance to be eaten. Even if the wings came down to 5g I would still consider it waste of coin tbh but thankfully mine dropped off a trash mob in Metrica within the first hour of the content going live… my one and only lucky loot drop since early Beta.. I don’t expect history to repeat itself anytime soon though
That’s a ridiculous and very rude request first of all. Second of all I have a low lvl character that I used to farm in that area on the 1st and 2nd day of the event and had no trouble at all. In fact, it was a great way to lvl up. Lastly, if you were in a party with your friend you should have had an advantage over other players anyway if you properly coordinated.
Why is it ridiculous to politely ask if we can finish a task in an area that is being farmed to death by L80s that are only there to roll over everything possible? I didn’t say get out of here or please get the F out of here. After all it is a community that seem to take pride in being a helpful community. Asking for help by requesting to be able to complete and event isn’t rude.
The first 2 days were not bad because everyone was camping the holos. Unfortunately my friend could not play until yesterday. Since then they are farming coffers by killing everything in site on starter maps. Even if low level just wanted to farm, good luck unless you want to kill the same moas over and over.
My friend is brand new and still learning the keys, skills etc. No level of coordination can keep up at that level with 4 level 80s speed running back and forth through caves.
See the thing is, before the event you almost never saw very high levels in the area unless it was for an event like SB and then when it’s over they leave. Now, that coffers are most easily farmed in starter maps the maps have been taken over.
GW2 PvE is openworld and everyone has the right to be there..
You have no right to ask any players to leave an area just because you feel unable to contribute to mob kills… yes you only have to coordinate with your friend and contribute in order to tag mobs for loot/coffers while at the same time completing and specific event they are in.
In a few weeks time you will most likely be spamming the chat channels and forums with requests for more people to join you or where is everyone, this game is dieing (my personal favourite).
Its a special event, its popular and players have every right to camp the holos in order to get their minion kills and coffers, just as you do.. btw they might be higher levels in realisty but they all get lvl scaled to the map area/event (granted they may be geared better but it doesn’t really make a lot of difference)
During my live stream on Friday I confirmed that the Dragon Ball achievements would not count towards the overall. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
So rather than sorting out the mess that is called Dragonball by dealing with the AFK’ers and the quitters that exploit the game in order to grab the achievements you simply wipe off the necessity to even jump into the game.
Cheers for wasting the time of those players that stuck it out, put up with the leeches.. I’m pretty sure a lot of us would of liked to take the easy route and forget about doing something that has no requirement to it anymore….
Pfft !
If you pop over to the support/bugs section you will see that ANET have already answered this very issue.. they have identified an issue with the achievements not counting including Dragonball and are actively working to get a fix out early this week.. I would link the post but as this is now the 3rd or 4th thread asking the same things I prefer to pull teeth instead.
EDIT – I decide to not be lazy…..
(edited by Bloodstealer.5978)
What I noticed before the patch and have not seen since is that sometimes 2 would drop off of 1 kill. So maybe that was fixed and that is why there are less now.
Nah I still get 2 coffers of holo mobs quite a lot.. not really noticed any change in coffer drops myself.. ran around Fields of Ruin for an hour today and amassed 102 coffers, and pretty much every projector I activated yielded at least 1 coffer.. I amactually thinking that the trash mob drop rate might actually of been raised as well, but that is just me.. RNG and DR are fickle things I guess.. I bet this evening I wont even get half that many.
Ah so the OP is one of those quitters that we all rage about in Dragonball.. your no better than an AFK’er imo…. should ANET ever learn to test and play out their content to notice the flaws, maybe then they will consider introducing penalties to fit the crime.
No one likes to waste there time.. but to freely advertise doing the very thing that creates the very issues with DB in the first place deserves some poetic justice!
Official response on the Lag issues please?

Given up trying to have some fun tonight.. the lag spiking is unplayable and skill delays are useless on Underworld.. strangely enough the skill delays only seem to be one way … I was only taking a gentle stroll around Brisban Wilderlands farming some minions and coffers.
Seems another patch to fix the patch that patched the original patch to the Dragon Bash patch is required….. just as well this is a F2P model cos otherwise I would of dropped this like a lead balloon long ago, though saying that I am beginning to log in less and less cos of all the issues and bugs that are either being ignored or are creeping in nowadays.

Outside of WvWvW I cant say I have encountered anything like perma CC lock even before they changed Orr a whiles back.
Just need to learn what the signs are for impending CC from mobs, use your stunbreakers etc wisely, dodge when ya can and .. you can still fight back if you do get CC’ed.
I am sure if ANET were to change this to provide an immunity to CC for players when already stunned etc then they will have to do the same for mobs/bases etc – fair is fair.
However WvWvW I can see some mileage in an immunity period as we are dealing with “slightly better” organised enemies who tend to have differing levels of “AI”
Yes…but no word from anet even though this has been brought up in several threads. We can only hope it gets fixed by Tues when the other 5 achievements unlock.
p.s. I haven’t gotten any tickets and have prob opened over 500 easily.
Actually they have already commented on this… following the recent exploits etc they answered a thread in the bugs/support section.. and I can see that someone has already listed this above.. you might wanna check first cos this thread will likely be locked, chewed up and condemned to the duplication piles on Monday
Yeah agree this is a joke… those players should be kicked to LA, receive a 1hr disablement from Dragonball and also have 1 taken off their DB achievement score for both wins and games played.. then they might think twice about it cos it only extends their need to play it more when they obviously don’t really want to… I can see the tears now.
Just took a wander around Wayfairer to grab some quick coffers and minions… lag was terribad…. as was Dragonball again earlier depending on which instance you land into.

Well. I’ve tried somes salvages last days and got REALLY low rates of ecto drops. Salvaged 25 Rares in Wednesday using Mystic salvage kit, and got only 9 Ectos in all.
Salvaged more 15 rares tuesday with the Master Salvage kit, and got 6.
‘-’ , I used to get a 1.2 drop rates.. The ecto drop have been nerfed? >_>
SSS….. Small Sample Size
Your going have to bring more to the table than a handful of salvages i’m afraid.
RNG is a fickle thing and it seems you hit some unlucky rolls, dust yourself off and try again… or don’t if RNG hurts your feeling enough to post this kind of sample.
Helps to control the kids wanting to show everyone what gear they have purchased on mom’s credit card.. or my personal favourite the drunken bums typing in endless /cheer emotes for hours… happened in LA the other night with some dumb noob who couldn’t hold their shandy
well tbh the fireworks was nothing more than a damp squib.. lasted like a minute or 2, nothing overly spectacular if you can actually see anything, with the shocking camera system in game anyway. Anyhow maybe the finale will be better… there is a finale in overflow right!
I vote they patch in a giant sun/moon dial or better still ask Mad King to sponsor another clocktower with a huge digital countdown on display…. just more shoddy implementation imo.
In fairness to ANET…. the camera and targeting system in this game have always been a pile of horse poop… but they never said they had made it better just for the fireworks display
But yes.. for me its the worst camera mechanic I think I have played with, the zoom function is next to useless.. even SWTOR had a better system than this rubbish… buy cheap, get cheap I suppose tho
