Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
If you are roaming as a Guardian and want more speed, an easy solution is to wield a Staff. The number 3 skill gives you swiftness and if I remember right, there is only a 5 second difference between the duration and cool down so you can run with almost a constant 25 percent speed boost.
Until Dec 10th that is.
while I’ve never been there, I think this is underground. There have been threads here in the past about nodes near that waypoint and I seem to recall there is a nearby cave / tunnel that is not easy to find that often has a nodes in it.
If you hadn’t been there in weeks, the nodes moved during the last update. Not all patches ALWAYS spawn at the same place in a zone after an update / zone reset.
In terms of time, most nodes ’reload" resources in 8 hours / character, but there are those (definitely T6 nodes) that take longer (more like 12 hours or longer).
As for you main question, I seem to recall that DR code has been stated as only kicking in for drops from mobs.

I’m not saying it’s cost effective, but can’t you transmute the Ascended items and then split them to transfer them to another character? Yes, that could be costly for a set of armor, but it IS possible (I think). It certainly seems like that would be simpler (possibly cheaper?) than raising multiple characters to 500 craft.
I think assuming they are intentionally making new content “alt unfriendly” is not really a justified point of view. I think it’s more of a side effect of doing what they need to in order to maintain players in the game to generate funds (their only source of income REQUIRES players in the game).
They HAVE done quite a number of things that are VERY alt-friendly:
Also, many here are calling things “alt-unfriendly” when it is just the side effect of choosing to play many different characters. I’m sorry, but it SHOULD take 5 times longer to gear up 5 toons than it does one. (Note that I have 9 characters myself).
I find it VERY disturbing that some on these forums seem to spend their entire time here trying to convince everyone that there are evil Devs in some dimly lit meeting doing nothing but thinking up ways to intentionally screw over players that have more than 1 character. It’s an absurd idea and a sad, sad hobby.

Ok. I get it. RABID armor ONLY exists on EXOTIC items you cannot salvage….where would the T6 insignia come from?
My point above was that it should be the same for weapons / armor, but without a source for RABID insignia, I now see what the actual issue IS.
My opinion is that you will NOT be able to craft Ascended RABID armor to begin with (simply because there is no SOURCE for the needed Insignia). Wasn’t there some addition to a Guild NPC that would allow for obtaining some other non-craftable insignia/inscriptions? Maybe that’s a solution?
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
My question to OP is how you expect to ever USE the Dark Matter if you don’t get your crafting to 500…..and that SHOULD be through crafting at least SOME Exotics (it CAN be done without crafting them, but it would be a horribly slow and painful process).
2 birds, one stone…
I get that it’s easy to become really upset when the RNG gods kitten on your parade, but everyone is in the same boat, so you are not being picked on.
Sounds like your video card slot might not be set to full 16x (or you have your video card installed in the secondary video slot that is usually a 4x ONLY slot).
Try reseating your video card first (could just be not seated well) and then try to find out (via motherboard documentation or a 3rd party utility) about the speed setting of your PCIe video slot(s). (actually, it’s not a speed setting but a channel width setting that many users mistakenly call a speed setting)

I am logging in from the same PC, and it’s linked to the same network, but everytime I log in it wants me to go to my email and authenticate my location. I only have the game three days and every time I logged in since i bought it, it wants me to do the same process. what can I do? does it have something to do with the server? (I noticed it said a different city in the location everytime i logged in, maybe because it’s linking me from a different server?) thanks in advance.
Some ISPs (Internet Service Providers) use a variety of IP addresses. I have one such provider, and sometimes I get a "You’re logging in from [name of city 60 miles away]. Well, because I know that I am the person who is attempting to log in, I know it’s ok to consider those notifications info only, not a warning of some serious wrongdoing. Meaning, due to the nature of the dynamic IP system, in my case I don’t need to contact them to say “Wait, someone’s hacking me!”
The same thing happens to me with my e-mail provider, with Facebook, with several other services. It’s a bit of a nuisance to get those messages, but because I know I’m the requester, and because they come near to my home or office, I recognize that it’s ok to ignore the e-mails or text messages as unnecessary notifications of what I am doing on my account.
I don’t want to suggest you should always ignore, and your ISP may be entirely less likely to have a broad range of IP addresses. But the story of the man in England who didn’t leave his home but who showed (legitimate) access points from England, Scotland, and Wales comes to mind. I call that one heck of a “dynamic IP address” but each of the accesses was the actual owner of the account.
So since it’s a well known source of annoyance to many people why do you force it upon us without an option to disabled it???
Because the number of account compromises this prevents is FAR more important than being “inconvenienced” for half a dozen or so log ins. If the ranges of IP addresses provided by your ISP that you must authorize goes higher than 6, then you should seriously consider another ISP (if possible).
In most cases, any equipment obtained from an NPC that did not cost pure gold is likely account bound (if not Soulbound on aquire) and non-salvagable.
There have been numerous request to add SOMETHING to the description of said items to indicate they cannot be salvaged.
Several things to remember when talking Builds with others.
Are you seriously going to post the exact same thread every single week?
And funnily enough you STILL include things that have been stated in all of your other threads to MOST LIKELY miss the deadline.Every week until we get answers on all the items.
…….
And people wonder why we don’t get more updates or comments from the Devs….with “fans” like you, what do they have to gain by saying ANYTHING?
YOUR updates!? Holy crud, how friggin’ entitled can you get?
It is what it is….
You CAN zoom out the small map, but your detection range for nodes is not much better than the range of it fully zoomed in.
Here is a website that might help you, however (limted to LVL 70+ areas and T6 materials)
http://gw2nodes.com/server/38
(note you need to select YOUR server in the drop down box).
Exactly, it could be possible that for every person with a stockpile, there are 5 casual players with disposable incomes and 0 gossamer scraps saved.
I’d say that number is closer to 50 than 5.
Last I checked SINGLE (YOUR word used in YOUR quote) means 1 and 1 is less than 2. My math may be a bit rusty, but it’s obvious you are disregarding the RNG drops (or at least were at the start of this thread) because you don’t deem them as a plausible way to obtain the gear. Again, does not change the fact that it exists as a method to get the gear.
It’s the top tier gear, it should NOT be easy to obtain and I doubt this will change just because you WANT it to be easier.
……
I think the work put into this game is amazing overall.
Do some exploring in the PvE Zones and you will continue to be in awe of the artwork. Been playing since release and I still run into hidden little areas that I have never seen with simply amazing views.
Ah, French layout….gotcha (was totally unaware it was different).
I guess I need to level mine one more level. Mine is level 21 and hasn’t gotten a silver doubloon yet, in about 2 months.
Thanks for the tip, I’ve been wondering. The other posts I’ve read said level 21 was good enough.
Level 20 is where the table starts allowing SDs. I’ve been doing this for at least a month (starting at LVL 20) at the LA puzzles (just turned 22 due to gathering by the dead troll). I’ve been getting SDs since I started at 20 so it’s certainly good enough. Keep in mind I’ve had runs of getting an SD once per 3 puzzles and even 2 SDs on a few days to getting NONE in a week long period. RNG is RNG.
Note that tossing Pebbles or Marks in the Mystic Flusher can also generate SDs (tho, it’s a pretty low probability).

Can I just ask what a AWERTY keyboard is? Has someone been playing a lifelong prank on you and been swapping your A and Q keys since birth?
The only issue I see with using a keyboard is turning with one. Players that actually do this should be identified in game (like a title, “I’M A KB TURNER”), so I can actively avoid them.

You guys don’t understand.. starting out at square one with nothing… I have to get to level 30 this week or I’ll be behind my friends and we won’t be able to play together? I thought I could play how I want?
We played fractals, cuz that’s how we wanted to play the game. Now all the progress we’ve made is being taken away and thrown out the window. We don’t get to play the way we want, then why should you?
Not saying you don’t have a reason to complain, but you ARE exaggerating as not ALL your progress is being taken away.
All these, “Can’t play how I want….” whiny threads are getting very old. That is the most twisted and misused quote on these forums.
If your friends are at level 30+, you were already behind them anyways. Were you not concerned with catching up with them within the past year?
Like I said, I was afraid to. But now that Living Story content is being added I feel forced to fractal. There was no past year, this started today.
This has to be one of the most absurdly illogical posts I have ever read….
Like he said, you were already behind (so why should you not still be behind?) and NOBODY is forcing you to do anything. If this guys is your “friend”, why not ask him for some assistance rather than post this nonsense here?
I thought they explained that they were resetting to 30 because of the difficulty changes that will be made to levels beyond 30 after the patch.
I don’t disagree that SOME sort of compensation for players that are losing levels needs to be considered, but you HAVE your skins / weapons…so I don’t get the complaints about those items being messed up by the patch.
You do have to move around areas to find some Events. If you look for the area specific dailies (in this case Ascalon) and go to zones that you can handle level wise in that area to do the OTHER dailies (gathering, kill variety, kills, etc.), you will eventually run across Events in the area. that meet the specific daily requirements. Note that some of the dailies require a group event rather than any event and those are more difficult to find.
arenanet has to stop championfarm and bring more goldsinks
Why would they do that when the current situation promotes using RL $ to buy gems? You can debate whether the current situation is intentional or not, but the only people this hurts is those that want gems from gold and what incentive does ANet have to assist those players? You can paint ANet as a huge greedy, money hungry monster, but the fact remains that their only viable income (beyond new game sales) is RL $ spent on Gems. They HAVE to make money to maintain the game.
Don’t know how you guys can say making 80-100 gold is easy, but I seriously want to say you are part of the problem.
Have you ever considered that the same could be said for those players that have never spent any RL $ on gems? (no doubt some of these are the same players).

And has there been any word on the different ways to acquire ascended armor? Why would anyone think it be any different from the ascended weapons?
Because it seems rather absurd for a game that carries the motto “play your way” to bar the top tier of gear behind a single means of acquisition?
You seem to be under the incorrect impression that crafting is the only way to obtain Ascended items. What is absurd is expecting the Ascended armor to be obtained differently than the existing weapons.
I am in no way implying that this could not or should not change in the future, but right now there are more than 2 sources of obtaining Ascended gear. You opinion on how “fair” the methods are does not change that fact.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
This was not available for crafting ascended weapons, so I wouldn’t hold my breath for armor….
Looks like the next update IS going to alter infusions and AR a bit, but since I’m not 100% how it works NOW, I’m certainly in no position to comment on the Nov 26th changes.
I doubt they deviate much from the basic formula for the weapons and not require the exotic inscriptions (but I guess it IS possible).
I don’t even have any craft to 500, or even have all my Alts in Exotic yet. I’m a long way from falling all over myself to craft anything Ascended yet.
…..
likely points at something in the 26th patch using a lot of gossamer.
…or people SPECULATING it will…not the first time speculators have jumped the gun too early.
That AC incident is very interesting, and I guess it does imply that certain characters could mistakenly be handled differently than others. I still don’t buy that there is an issue here (other than in the minds that don’t feel they have been “lucky” in the game).
4600 samples is FAR to small when a random drop of 4 items in the Forge can likely generate 1000s of different items of varying probability weight. Even every one of those were drops of the of the same item (possible outcome is over a 100 items), 4600 is still several orders of magnitude too few to be considered a large enough statistical sample.
If of those 4600 samples, a next higher tier items are dropping roughly 20% of the time, I’d say your theory is disproved right there (unless you are suggesting that the “error” is isolated to generating a precursor only….pretty FAR FAR fetched, imo).

Looks like the Medium armor recipes are relatively inexpensive, while the Heavy is not too outrageous (I would not consider it), but the light armor recipes are VERY pricey. That follows as the only profession that can actually benefit greatly from Celestial is Ele. Guess I better go back and look at the recipes I have stashed in my Guild Bank….
It is also possibly is a better indicator about a specific server population or player focus and concentration at specific times.
I think it’s less about how undesired a single piece of content is compared to the possible popularity of another (elsewhere).
A view of each servers Kessex Hills populations before and after the last content additions in that zone would be VERY interesting indeed. So would Sparkfly Fen’s before during and after the Tequatl content addtion.

Grimm look up Wii flagging. It is a perfect example of unintentional rng bias that went on for over a year before being pinpointed.
Do you have a link as googling “wii flagging” only brings up Wii games with the word “flag” in them (mostly AC: Black Flag right now). I’m interested, but what you stated to search is either very obscure or related to something that requires additional search terms.
To add to what Astralporing is stating, my observation of the data is that many of those that complain about this lack basic knowledge of statistics AND knowledge of what to farm or how to farm them efficiently. They base their “lack of luck” on how many hours they have farmed, not on how many foes (that can actually drop what they are trying to farm) they have slain.
More to the point, since the Forge IS RNG, how many times you have dropped something in is NOT really relevant until that number reaches 1000s of times the possible outcomes due to the HUGE drop table (it’s NOT heads or tails but a mutli-thousand sided die roll).

You can easily convert silk to gossamer and I doubt silk will rise much.
Keep in mind this requires T6 Dust but in much smaller quantities.
Also, anyone wanting to do this for crafting material should consider wisely whether to promote raw scraps or bolts….if you need bolts, its MUCH cheaper to promote them.
Since Slik demand will also rise (as mentioned above), promoting Linen will also be an option (that should increase Linen prices).
I get the feeling the OP has not crafted ANY as he seems to be asking if an Armorsmith can craft a weapon….the answer is NO.
Please go look at the wiki page on crafting as most of your questions will be answered there.
It can ONLY be restored by a full account rollback to before you were hacked, so anything you have done on the account (including items you have obtained, achievements, etc.) will be lost if they rollback.
That being said, they ONLY rollback if they can prove the account was compromised (by a non-local connection) AND they only do this action ONE time (to prevent this feature being abused).
You need to confirm that CS can verify your account was compromised and if you are willing to loose any and all progress you have made since you were hacked (as all that will be lost….no way around it).
I use the Heritage (Flaming Dragon Sword) skin(s) on my Mesmer. Not all that original, but it also doubles as a light in dark areas. It also holds some nostalgia back to the old GW1 days.
On the other hand I’ve heard that some people got hacked and lost everything sellable in their actual bank but their personal guild bank was untouched because the hacker didn’t think to check if they had one. I guess it’s luck based on who hacks your account (if it happens at all).
I think since the introduction of the Wallet feature, the personal guild bank has become more common knowledge (as a way to stash gold…tho that may not be the best idea) and it’s much less likely a hacker will miss this…..still, it is possible.
Definitely old GW1 music from original Prophesies game. If I’m not mistaken, it played in Maguuma Jungle areas of GW1 (and still does in GW2).
Unmistakable as a Jeremy Soule work.
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn’t Jeremy Soule compose all the songs for both GW1 and GW2?
Ok, so I’m Captain Obvious….sue me.
…… The average droprate when opening jumping puzzle chests is 25%…..
So enjoy
That’s an exaggeration…..more like less than 10%
These have been being farmed for a few months now.

Unmistakable as a Jeremy Soule work.
Errr…you could always use a Transmutation splitter if that happens.
There are 2 options here:
Immediate satisfaction or guarantee of no remorse…..it’s a simple choice.
I never thought about this, but Berformet IS correct. Nodes reset whenever a zone is empty and after an update, the game HAS to generate a new (empty) zone for updated clients to enter.
I still don’t understand how we are to believe you think a “flaw in the code” favors some players over others…. A “flaw in the code” would produce identical “flawed” results for everyone…would it not?
I have a very decent passing understanding of how computer code works (written plenty of DB front ends and various custom hardware code), but maybe you could fill us all in at how bugged code would give one player better results (consistently better, according to your claims) than another player?
I’d buy the secret luck stat (or even ANet intentional weighting) stat before I consider a “flaw” to be skewing precursor drops for some and not others. I may be looking at the problem wrong, but I don’t think so.
…..
And has there been any word on the different ways to acquire ascended armor?
Why would anyone think it be any different from the ascended weapons?
If the stuff is not SoulBound, just stick them in your bank, delete the character and you can transfer (if the server isn’t full) for FREE.
If you already used the outfit….well, I think that’s gone (if you want to transfer and not pay for it). I guess you COULD go buy some white armor, transmute the outfit skins onto them and then they would become account bound and you could put THOSE in the bank (and transmute them onto a new character’s stuff).
The lack of any progression structure as you advance in Cooking throws a lot of people. If you can’t DISCOVER it and you KNOW you have the level for making it, it’s almost ABSOLUTELY in your crafting list already. The exception to this is recipes that MUST be purchased from NPCs in open-world Zones.
I’m guessing from all the influx of info, it’s going to be closer to “crafting” a Legendary than actually crafting an Ascended item. Again, it’s all speculation at this point (tho there have recently been some data-mined info released, but whether it’s legit or not is debatable….looks like it could be legit to me, however).
Despite the real or fake notes, why is anyone surprised they would do this AGAIN with Ascended Armor release (just like with Weapons)? It makes COMPLETE sense as otherwise, the progression to 500 would be much slower and expensive. This is NOT news, but an expected change.
