I’m sure you meant to say you were unaware that 2 of these could not be used at the same time (wink, wink) rather than you made a mistake.
CS’s policy is that user mistakes are NOT reverseable, but there has been precedents set about the ability to buy 2 soulbound unique items when you can’t use them both.
Try to keep in mind that this change probably overloaded the ticket system with these requests. Please be patient and I’m sure they will resolve it.

Zaoda, your issue is QUITE different from the OPs situation. I’m not saying they shouldn’t possibly consider refunding your gems (sounds like they did and gave you an answer), but YOU CHOSE to delete those tools when you deleted the characters. It’s NOT the same situation at all.

All I’m seeing here is a lot of stubbornness as the people defending GS have yet to give a real reason to use it.
I have to think much of it is the fact that PvE is survivable with a sub-par weapon (in most cases) and it frankly, looks pretty cool…. Way too much in PvE is all about how good (at least, YOU think) your toon looks.
I really want celestial gear for my build but the 30 days wait is daunting. In the mean time I have to settle with crap gear, or buy gear and then have no cash to actually craft the gear when I finally get 30 crystals.

You can buy a set of RARE armor pretty cheaply on the TP. Could get top shelf RARE for less than 5g total. Less than half that if you aren’t picky.
What Danikat said is what I meant in terms of guesting….I worded it poorly as I was trying to emphasize that trying to access it AFTER you transfer is too late.
Focus 5 is an AoE damage (stationary) so if you can get foes clumped up, or lead them into the AoE, it can do MASSIVE damage…..again, very inflexable, but potentially very powerful.
You really can’t make money by crafting in this game.
That’s not really true, but it requires a more than passing knowledge of the Trading Post and a good bit of constant research to match profitable items with the current material costs.
Rare and exotic recipes (all that is really left to you once you reach 400) need to be bought from the Master Jeweler. Those items get VERY expensive to craft (Multiple high end Jewels per item) and with Ascended Jewelry being available for quite a while, I’m not sure there is much of a TP market for crafted higher end Jewelry.
Looking at Torrenal’s Gaget (TP Crafting utility), it looks like only the items with difficult to obtain materials are going to be profitable in Jewelry (that makes sense as most people craft Jewelry since it’s the only equipment item that NEVER drops from foes).

Several points (mentioned above):
I have heard of other players using the TP Buy Orders as a way to store gold. Place a Buy order for Twilight at 250g and you will loose some gold, but that gold is pretty safe until you cancel the order. Worse case (sans account being compromised and stripped) someone fills the order and you make a tidy profit!

Pretty sure the highest DAMAGE phantasm is Focus 5 (but it IS stationary, so needs to be used properly). I run a 10/30/0/0/20 build with Sword/Focus & GS (sometimes Staff).
I understand what you are saying, but the whole concept of using our account name here, and in game, means people can find you here on the forum then message you there.

Your paranoia at being “tracked down too easily”, does seem a bit suspicious now that you mention it (I’m kidding). To be honest, the fact that you CAN be identified in game by what you post here (and visa-versa) probably thwarts a lot of drama because your game account is at full risk if you step over the line too far.
I think the idea that they look a history before banning is kind of cute….
I tend to believe they ban everything that triggers on their criteria and sort out the mistakes later.
Word to the wise: After guesting and doing your temple purchasing, port somewhere safe before you log back to your home server. Or you’ll get eaten by Risen before the loading screen clears.

You seriously shouldn’t discount Warrior just because of specific skills that turned you off (I’m guessing you were playing with Greatsword and 100-Blades based on the ROOT in one spot complaint). There are traits (obtained later in the game) that can speed a Warrior up and you can also use a Warhorn on one of your sets that can speed up AlLL nearby allies for a limited time. You can even get a Warhorn trait that makes it a powerful condition removal AND provide nearly perma-swiftness to allies.
Warrior has SO many different weapon choices and options, I hate to see you dismiss them because of one particular skill dislike.
If you seriously want fast killing, however, Thief is your best bet. You do have to play with the mindset of actively attempting to AVOID damage (but you seriously should be doing that to some extent with ALL professions in this game).

There are always those that claim money can be made crafting but it requires proper planning and monitoring of TP prices (and availablity of items and materials) to make any real profits. Those that make these claims do NOT reveal the details of their process (that I have ever seen). If they are legit, can’t say I blame them on keeping their process to themselves.
Lies! I reveal all!
Process as follows:
1) Write own gadget for calculating cost of making any crafted/MF item in game.
2) Check skill point -> gold conversion rates for anything intersting (Soft Wood Planks are currently intersting at 5g+/skill point at last check, making via mystic forge)
3) Check for stuff with high Gold profits (sort by that column in gadget) , that can be sold to high buy offer for profit (filter for profitable or look for rows in bold)
4) Pick a profession. Any profession. Filter by same. Filter if appropriate by level. Filter by Potentially Profitable. Sort by Profit (either the % or the flat amount)
5) Look at buy offers of anything that seems worthy. Be wary of Satches, Boxes, feasts, and anything with low buy volume.6) Craft anything that looked worthwhile. List for not more than 50% profit (so, if it cost 1g to make, sell for no more than 1.6 or 1.7g) Begin the craft by double-clicking the row in the table and checking what it requests I acquire, and how I acquire it (Buy now, or buy later, which merchants or karma vendors, etc).
7) Get bored. Add conversion for currencies. Include Dollars. Yes, now the gadget tells me the price of the eternity, in Dollars.
8) Stay bored. Get grumpy that I can buy anything I want, but I’m still not happy.
9) Post gadget online to gw2gadget.com.

So when did OP craft and then claim he “found out” about Ascended Armor?
Ascended Armor has been discussed by Devs for QUITE a while now. Just because you were unaware is not really ANet’s fault.
It will also likely take a while to fully outfit your self in Ascended Armor, what where you planning on wearing during that time? It’s not like your current armor is IMMEDIATELY trash.
There was (or possibly still is) an issue that involves some apparent bug with the REMEMBER MY ACCOUNT NAME and REMEMBER MY PASSWORD checkboxes at the log in prompt on some players systems. Try unchecking BOTH of those boxes and typing the credentials in manually (note that the user log in is your email address, not your user id).
If you replied to or visited the website in that phishing email, your account is likely compromised. In either case, contacting Support is the only way to resolve an account log in problem.

In cases I have seen, one guy is buying 1,000,000 tickets and the other guy is going into the convenient store 1,000,000 times and buying a ticket every 1000 trips….. It’s easy to say you “farmed” and area for an hour but you killed 100x less enemies than the winner.
If the data is skewed, it’s easy to make invalid assumptions (or promote flawed theories).

It’s the top tier (as you mentioned). It SHOULD take some effort and time to obtain. The time you are spending in the game DOES effect how long it will take overall to obtain your goals…..not sure why that is a difficult concept to grasp.

What if it was intended but they have changed their minds about it? They have NOT removed it from the game, just change it to cost more. To be honest, I think the change was inadvertent with the change to 500 crafting, but since they have not knee-jerked and reverted it after all the QQing going on, it does appear they have any intention of reverting it back.
I still consider it an Exploit at worse and a lazy method of leveling at best. I don’t consider it actually PLAYING the game. That’s my opinion (and I’m sticking to it no matter the smell).

That’s not true. Jormag fails on many servers during off peak hours. It’s simply a lack of enough players showing up.
Are you implying you can SOLO Jormag or the TEMPLE events? I’m not talking about showing up by yourself and joining in (certainly possible) but doing the entire event string BY YOURSELF? Sorry, video or it didn’t happen.
Perhaps they can at least raise the daily cap to 5 charged quartz a day instead of 1 so that you can at least create a full set of Celestial armor in 5 days. I think that’d be a decent compromise between time-gating and instant gratification.
The actual solution (to appease the Alt-aholics…..of which I AM one) is to allow 1 per day / PER CHARACTER. That would allow anyone with more characters ample opportunity to get them in a more reasonable time frame and also potentially sell character slots to anyone that wanted to abuse the system. Since they are not (currently) sell-able on the TP, I doubt that would be an issue.

i know this sounds trite, but your main method of damage mitigation should always be NOT getting hit. The “absorbtion” capability you ask about is your measure of how many “Holy Crud!” hits you can take before being downed. Lighter classes just have much fewer of those (maybe just one) and thus must be played much more defensively in general.

I’m unsure why you are surprised that transferring that amount of gold from one account to another would not potentially trigger as a “gold seller” action and result in an an account ban. I think it’s pretty common knowledge that this is possible as Anet looks for the quickest and easiest way to remove gold seller accounts from the game.
He should certainly submit a ticket to get the ban reversed.
You should be prepared to do the same if you get banned (it is highly likely).
……I am not talking about terminology, it’s just a way to say this issues are not always a customer/player fault, like everybody insist.
You guys are arguing the semantics of the work “hack”. It’s natural for people that are associated closely with a field to want very accurate terminology be used, but if someone accesses your account without your permission (no matter HOW they do it), it is generically know as “hacking”. Technically, I fully understand what you are saying, but the term has been twisted by any number of uses to mean “unauthorized access” by the general public.
Most “hacks” to online game accounts are done thru data mining of old user / passwords on stolen info from old or compromised websites or the use of phishing emails to obtain the info and just log in to the account.
You should also keep in mind that the % counter is based the number files to download and remaining….NOT the actual amount of data being downloaded. Thus a 1kB file will have the same effect on the % meter as a 1GB file…not very useful in terms of the ACTUAL progress of the download.

If all of those check out, your video card COULD be going bad (possibly a bad solder joint on the board), but doing a clean reinstall of the drivers couldn’t hurt.
If this happens intermittently, then I’d lean toward a bad solder joint that is failing.
Your claim that EVERY update messes up YOUR graphics seems to indicate a problem on your system as THOUSANDS of users are NOT seeing these issues with Nvida hardware or drivers.
I haven’t changed my drivers in months and have seen NO issues with ANY GW2 updates since it was released. Your assumption that this is fully an ANet coding problem is simply without merit. Note that I HAVE had BSODs and lock ups but I quickly traced the problem to a bad memory module….hardware DOES fail occasionally.
That being said, suggestions above have been given and there are plenty of people here that would gladly assist you in locating the actual problem if you would be open minded enough to search for them and not jump to an incorrect conclusion about who is to blame (and demand someone at Anet fix something that isn’t broken).
Just to head off your "I’ve seen other posts about similar problems’, reply, that just proves that your particular problem is not singular and could certainly be present on other systems with similar hardware or software issues. If EVERYONE with Nvida cards were making the same claims you were, then a systemic issue with Anet’s code would certainly be at the top of the list (but that is NOT the case).

I’ve seen that singular pre-release comment before and it’s a blog quote of from a forum post you can no longer access. Not saying it didn’t exist, but without the rest of the thread, her thinking it is “cool” weeks before release does not mean they cannot alter the functionality of how crafting works. I certainly don’t consider what she said as a “promotion” of the feature (she was just mentioning how it worked and the article writer did the promotion).
Have you looked into the RARE recipes you might not have discovered yet?
Buy the inscriptions on the TP, discover the items and then salvage or sell on TP (depending on what you need). They don’t provide a lot toward 500 but every little bit can help you get to 450 and open up the Ascended material refinement tier.
There is a waiting period (7 days sounds right) for many in-game functions to work fully after you first register you game key (or so I have read here). I don’t fully understand WHY this would be in place but I’ve been told it has to do with WvW saboteurs and spies and/or gold sellers. Maybe someone else can fully explain the reasoning and if it actually does any good.
I’ve been trying out the general suggestion that you tout (sell everything on TP) and I have seen an appalling trend of players listing (and placing buy orders) for items where the PROFIT value is less than the MERCH sale price…….
Not sure very many users understand about he TP fees and the importance of the PROFIT projection value.

I don’t know, this might be a foreign concept for some people but you might want to consider leveling to 80 by a means that is not exclusively crafting, such as… well… playing the game?

Its a cosmetic, so its worth it if you like the skin, no matter the price. I definatly would build a juggernaut even if a stack silver doubloons would cost 1000g.
After the recent update when legendaries can change stats at whim and will always stay on the highest item level, it is no longer a cosmetic item.
The change made owning ANY legendary more convenient and flexible, but working to obtain one is still 90% about the looks.
Your questions prove you do not have a very good grasp of the concept of RANDOM (and I dare say this is the issue with LOTS of the whiny, QQ RNG posts on these forums).
It is human nature to try and associate future events with events that occurred in the past, but singular RANDOM events do NOT have any influence from previous events nor can they effect any future events. It should be noted that TRUE random events are not obvious in our everyday life, thus the natural assumption that your last result MUST effect your next one (it does not). Dice rolls and coin flips are examples of truly random singular events.
We are told that the Mystic Flusher is pure RNG but whether you choose to believe ANet or buy into some wild conspiracy theory about hidden luck based stats on characters or accounts is completely up to you.

Well I see a huge difference in that.. If I were to do that I would be possibly endangering lives and also scaring everyone at the airport. What I’m doing only affects me and one other person, and it is private. No one gains anything and no one loses anything.
And I did not know that it could trigger a ban, hence the fact that I made this thread asking if I could get banned. I also said I wouldn’t do it anymore because I have learned i can get banned so this post was unnecessary.

I’d be interested in seeing a quote in print from an ANet employee that PROMISES a client side performance update. I seriously don’t recall client side performance improvements being mentioned (beyond a “we will continue to look at improving performance…..”).
Having CC charges reversed (I’m guessing a BLOCKED CC would result in the same) is a HUGE deal breaker for on-line retailers.
You also need to understand that ANet will NOT discuss the case with anyone but the account owner.
Just report and block them. Anet has logs to see if you got sent large amounts of gold or not.
1) Check EVERYTHING for TP prices now. Even Whites are selling for decent coin. Make SURE you are looking at the PROFIT number (not the sale value) when you list items on the TP. I see WAY too many players listing items at a price where the PROFIT value is less than the merchant sell price (just plain stupid).
A lot of what you choose to salvage or sell depends on how you want to approach crafting. If you want to ignore it, just concentrate on maximizing your TP sales. Keep in mind that some players swear they get better profits by salvaging everything and selling the materials…..haven’t done the math, but I do know I can usually rack up some serious coin when I go and clear out my excess materials to free up storage space.
The Magic Find / Lucks issue has also thrown a bit of twist into this decision, but the general thought is for you to set some MF goals and alter your Salvage/Sell decisions based on these (EX: Salvage everything for Luck (sell materials if not crafting) until you hit 50%, then Salvage everything worth less than X (merch value) until 100%….)

The contents of the bags has no bearing on the level of the character they drop for. It has also been suggested (go look at the other threads on this in this forum for which ones.) you just BUY the bags off the TP.
Yes it is RNG as I bought a full stack of bags last week and got NO SDs out of it (but I did make a profit on selling the materials…not much).
