It’s Caithe from DE. But why does she have human skin?
Would love to see this in some LS arc. Possibly with title “Secret of the Wizard’s Tower” or something :P
If you haven’t check out this vid:
Kill Trahurn!!
I don’t know why you have such a problem finding world bosses. I use the overlay and go from boss to boss to boss quite easily.
The problem is, ever since scarlet invasion update, the boss timers on gw2stuff and dragon timer are completely off. They’re not showing correct times in 90% cases. Some days they don’t work at all. Today I’ve been falsely directed towards 5 bosses and they weren’t on at all (no, it wasn’t overflow). Only 1, was correct, karka queen for my server, and I ended up in overflow..
There is a weird bug going on, few minutes ago we got the announcement on desolation server that scarlet invasion is taking place in Timberline Falls. Eeverybody gets there, and nothing is happening. After few minutes, somebody said in map chat that the invasion was actually happening in Blazeridge Steppes, and sure thing it has.
So if this is some kind of bug, it would be nice if you un-bugged it :P
No…no more nerfing. Especially if your proposal is another time-gated content.
I think this gentleman’s complaint can be summed up in this elaborate diagram I’ve prepared.
Haha this is pretty funny but you gotta remember, Jormag fight is extremely long and boring, and the loot pay off versus those champions is miserable, so no wonder people went for the champs. They wanted to make champs more rewarding, so they did, and I think it’s fine.
Flame and Frost had all the makings of a decent story, but was too spaced out. Now we have too short, too rushed stories without meaning or explanation. A story takes as long as it needs to be told.
If they took all short stories they release on the front page and implemented them in the actual updates in form of some kind of cinematics or similar, it would be much easier to understand and follow the general storyline.
Take Scarlet’s story for example. I think it’s great. But you don’t see any of that in game.
Imagine if they took their time and told the story in form of artistic cinematic. How much better these little stories would be…
The problem is. It should be one big story like we saw with the first one (That still wasn’t like I would like it to be (see me fist comment) but at least it was an unfolding story) but this are like you say yourself little stories. cinematics or not. And the achievements / rewards en temporay nature make them feel like a job.
The only stories I understood where the first two. Flame and Frost and “The Secret of Southsun” Well sort of that last one. I know how we found that island from some time before that and I know that in the meanwhile we build settlements and now we dropped the refugees there. What was going on there with attacking mobs is not really clear.
The other stories..? Some people attacked us, then some other people attacked us, then somebody died, then somebody needed to replace the dead person and then some witch came along and attacked us with the people who attacked us before. Oow yeah and meanwhile some people that life in flying ships came by to trade goods. Thats about right but I can’t say it’s really an nice unfolding story where i was part of.
Em…….that’s why I said, if they were told better, they would be more interesting. Where is the most interesting parts of stories posted? That’s right, on the website, and majority of my guild doesn’t even know about it. Even if it is generic, it would be more fleshed out as a whole if those stories were fully unfolded in the actual game.
Speaking of achievements, i don’t really care about them, at least the LS ones. I know they’re optional and I certainly don’t feel the pressure to do em once I log in. You can still explore and take your time with events/vistas/jp’s, whatever. I know some people who work 9+ hours daily and they still manage to finish those just fine. I don’t understand what the issue is here.
Or maybe they should just remove those achievements all together and introduce something different.

Don’t you get it? They’re subliminally telling you to grind for ascended weapons now, by replacing all karma with materials. Seriously, who’s bright idea was to replace dungeon rewards with those materials I will never use?
My guess, because obsidian shards are needed for ascended now (at least from what I can remember) so you need to grind more, and it will probably lead to the gem store some how.
But removing karma from dungeons. Now I have even LESS reason to go there.
(edited by CharrGirl.7896)
As you know, events no longer reward karma if they fail. I get the feeling like you added this hastily so that people won’t fail events on purpose (hint hint, invasion events) but as expected it did nothing for it. Those who wish to complete events for achievements and xp still complain in chat, and others bash and call them names, same discussion over and over again.
Even if you remove all rewards from failing events, as long as there are champions to farm, people won’t give a kitten about succeeding those specific events. Not saying you should nerf champion spawns, because at this pace of every few or more hours it’s actually not an overkill with every hourly invasion as before. But if you want people to finish events you gotta give more rewards instead of less. Or develop something completely new that will motivate people to finish it.
I’m on neither side on this one. On one hand farming those events is a great profit, on other it feels wrong for failing it. Can middle ground be achieved?
All this karma gain nerf (replacing drops of karma with ascended materials) really had me asking, are you wanting us that bad to craft ascended items? I actually liked getting karma. Even though I only used it for orrian jewel boxes I still had some use of it, unlike those materials I will never use, and I talked to many in game and they feel the same way about it.
I think you’re struggling with finding the right balance.
I’ve collected 3 stacks of Bloodstone Dust and not sure what to do with it. I’m not too much into crafting, and I’m certainly not interested in ascended weapons. Not saying that karma is hard to get but it was sweet collecting all those drips of karma. Can we make a compromise or something? For people who don’t need ascended crafting mats?
Just received some kind of in game notification that scarlet invasion is taking place in harathi hinterlands, so i’m wondering is it completely random or is there some sort of timer?
Same here it’s annoying as hell, just when I wanted to exchange some gold for gems.
GW1 players will understand, non-GW1 players wont. Simple as that. Being GW1 player myself I’m also dissapointed in this change.
“Because there are so many of you, it is technically difficult to make each of you feel like you are the center of things.”
Quite different from what they have been telling us with manifesto :P
I kinda get it but .. yea
Ah I see. But wouldn’t it be interesting if the dragon boss moved around? Maybe he will!
But I have 1 concern. What if new re-done bosses turn out like Karka Queen? Too difficult so nobody will bother with it? I see this as a possibility.

Huh, what? Any patch notes about this? I didn’t know about it
He’s been kidnapped and you gotta save him in the new SAB!
Slap in the face with the next week LS.

I don’t like admitting it but I agree. I want to know more about Scarlet and the whole aetherblade/thaumanova/molten thing, and we get another kiddie activity. I mean I really liked SAB but GW2 needs more interesting stories. So far the story telling has been really bad.
I don’t see it that way. I dont think about characters as “male” or “female”. They’re just characters to me, and maybe you should look like it too. It doesn’t matter. Besides, female characters have been getting this treatment in games for a quite a bit, if you want me to point that out..
Forgot to ad, hasn’t it occurred to anyone that this update is probably added to test the new culling options? Not saying you can’t test it on other big events, but this is most convenient right now.
And have you forgotten about the Southsun Cove farming a while back? It was exactly like this :P The zone is dead now. Wonder if they gonna do something about it.
What do you mean, its not fun? Don’t put everybody in the same category please. I do em with friends because its fun to me, seeing so many players on map taking down a bucketloads of enemies. It makes lots of gold yes but I wouldn’t be doing it if i wasn’t having fun in the process.
Let people have their fun, and stop wishing things you hate are removed from the game…because as far as I can see, most people ennjoy this update.
Female villains are nothing new, where have you been?
It’s the story that’s the problem, not the cutscene.
I agree the story so far is very disappointing. After all that speculation about Scarlet, then we just get another one-dimentional bad guy. Unless there’s more to come about her, I’m very sad. But I like the new mobs, and I liked her voice.
I’m still hoping it’s all linked to Thaumanova Reactor and that the Aetherblades/Mechas are from another dimension!
Stop. With. The. kittening. RNG.
PLEASE
I hear ya. The rage and bashing is getting ridiculous. I never attempted to finish that event because I don’t wanna risk getting flamed or reported by those farming fanatics. I just find it amusing, this whole “you ruined my day!!” because somebody dared to complete the event. It’s the first time I’ve seen such behavior in PvE and it makes me wanna not play it.
They had 250 years to advance since the first game, of course there is going to be new technology, and I think it looks pretty neat, now please stop and enjoy the game for what it is. If you don’t like it don’t look at it. Simple as that.
And I can totally buy it tbh. In GW2 universe they already acknowledge the existence of other worlds besides theirs, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Tyria was surrounded by many of those worlds/planets. Look at the night sky in some areas, you can see the galaxies, indication of a young universe.
Humans, if you didn’t know, are not originally from Tyria but from another planet. Gods brought em to Tyria for whatever reason. If I can believe that in a video game, I can surely believe they have such tech.

I’d love that to be true! It would tie in the story nicely. It is also very creepy and something like this would be a great thing for the game. Dont listen to naysayers. Even if it isn’t true, it’s a kitten cool theory, and Anet might take few hints.
When culling gets removed, I can’t help but feel that my fps in large events will drop even more. A simple option to hide other players characters except our party members would help, because you’ll need to render lot less on the screen. It is one of the nice features Aion had, and is it too much to ask for it to be added here?
No, no no you got it all wrong! See, it’s actually quite obvious.
See, the steam creatures will start pouring in during her speech through rips in space, which are actually bio mechanical Reapers from ME universe, trying to hunt down commander Shepard, the Queen in disguise!
Meanwhile, this is all doing from Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite universe, and she is indeed, the mysterious figure, now trying to burn Divinity Reach with her army of airships, raining fire from above.
All because Logan is her father.
In short, Half Life 3 confirmed!
Makes sense?
I hate it. Other events , especially temple events are being ignored now, and I’ve never seen such hostility towards eachother before this patch, to any1 who actually tries to complete the event…
It kitten ed me off the other day, all this champion farm because, I was working on completing the Balthazar temple event with 10 players or so. The escort to main event just started, and what few people that were doing the event, suddenly RUSHED to kill a random champion giant nearby, and event failed before it started.
…
Oh and “nobody does Grenth temple now because it doesn’t spawn champions, noob” – the answer I got when politely asking why nobody is at the temple. (which is untrue btw, it does spawn several champions but that should not be now the ONLY reason people want to do events!)
This champion farm has done more bad then good…
(edited by CharrGirl.7896)
Yeah I don’t like it either. Anet, do something about those champions because players have become so hostile it’s really sad…to any1 who actually wants to finish those events.
And other events are being ignored now!
Probably generic stuff about future of humanity etc. But it will be crashed by aetherblades possibly.
It’s actually a bit creepy. It’s quite possibly linked to Thaumanova reactor since well, steam creatures come from there, and it’s hinted that they come from future/alternate reality. So that made me think that aetherblades are probably from that realm as well, since they started having steam creatures with em. And in asura storyline with infinity ball, it’s hinted about a “battle in Divinity Reach”, more precisely your character from this alternate reality/future mentions it, and ofc. you gotta fight steam creatures that pour through portals you create with infinity ball in your storyline.
So whatever she has to say it will be quickly interrupted :P
You won/t believe this. I got the mecha anchor from my FIRST champion chest, the troll in queensdale. There were only 3 of those on TP when I got it, and I sold it for 15 gold.
im not bothered by it, high heels on the other hand look ridiculous lol
Female, playing charr warrior. I just prefer heavy armors and melee combat to casters, more direct, more fun.
You simply don’t get enough gold from open world mobs for it to be worthwhile.
True, this. I hope there is some way you can compensate for it. Or it will turn out just fine remains to be seen.
As far as I know, most people that use coin boost use them for dungeons because the bosses drop 10-30 silver, depending how strong your coin boost it.
I myself use the gold infusion, omnomberry bar and laurel coin booster.
My question now, due to the announced nerf of those bosses in sense of removing the coin drops, will all these items be useless now? Can’t imagine them being used anywhere except dungeons. Should I sell my omnomberry bars before the price drops? I kinda feel like I spent my laurels for the infusion for nothing tbh.
oh god hope this never happens. did not buy this game to see half naked males running around
And I didn’t buy this game to see half naked females running around, and guess what I see lol.
I am more confused. They were on the right path,. said they were just experimenting and now they brought RNG black lion chest fest, that got people mad in the first place with wintersday event.
Bought 10 keys for gold. 1 scrap. i am not wasting any more gold on RNG bullkitten, sorry.
Are those weapons obtainable outside BL chests? If so, how?
Why don’t they just put them in the gem store?
Good to know i spent my 30 laurels for nothing in the long run :/
Trahearn – God of things not ending well
Now imagine a special Fractal level with Trahearne, Rurik and Kormir, all in the same area, on the opposite sides of map.
1) Protect Trahearne from tons of enemies while he preforms a ritual
2) Protect Rurik while he blindy charges in mobs and sabotages your mission
3) Protect Kormir from attacks while she just stands there and does nothing
:D
On topic, yeah Abbadon sounds great, I mean we fought him in GW1 in last mission so I Just might vote for Evon just because of that…even tho I like Kiel much more.
The black lion key gets a discount every once in a while. But we never saw a discount for waypoint prices, and tbh everybody uses waypoints, and complains how costly they are, so it’s much more useful and beneficial for players in whole. That’s why I’ll vote for Kiel – I never spoke to somebody in game who buys black lion keys.
This should be a wallpaper!
Not for me. I played GW1 but the rewards from Kiel seem just better. I mean reduce of black lion key costs vs. reducing waypoint costs? I think we know what’s better :P
And yah both fractals sound interesting but there is no doubt we’ll see both of them implemented some time in the future.
