i kind of like that suggestion however some classes (thieves in particular) use it for stability… if this change was implemented they would never get any stability as to get stability from 6th bonus you would actually need to use elite first while already being CCd..which is impossible obviously
the issue is not even lyssa runes itself, it is just absurd amount of aoe/condi spam in pvp atm… direct dmg builds are becomming rare :/

funny fact, if i use inf. arrow on my thief with orb, i lose orb… warrior can use GS spells and zoom across the map w/o losing orb….
not to mention, some classes can run really fast with orb w/o run speed punishment, while other classes get shafted

Since latest patch some NPCs (that didn’t do it before) started to ignore stealth (stealth buff is up, no revealed debuff etc.) and chase and attack person in stealth. Happend to me so far with Mossman in Fractals and Charr NPCs in CoF.
Fix would be nice

1. watch streams where devs played thieves.. it is comical…. will make you stop wonder why thief changes are so silly
2. christmas time, they are probably on vacation till 7th Jan or so, you won’t get any answers till then..if even
as for revealed debuff, probably won’t change… it seems like they keep pushing that venom share crap idea at costs of other builds and course probably won’t change for a while….

OP, if we follow by that logic then every other class should be nerfed too. I did play other classes and compared to thieves they are too forgiving in many aspects.
Take a war for example: oh i suck at dodging? jk lemme pop invul and lol @ enemy while HS + adr. heal keeps me forever alive… oh too many ppl attack me? let me pull GS and zoom across the map
Yes, thieves have good moblity and stealth… but that is it. They literary don’t have anything else. If you don’t believe me, roll a thief, go do some soloq/tpvp so you can experience lv 80 combat, pray that you don’t uninstall after match or two.

In every MMO I know of, most classes only have one or two viable builds. That applies in Guild Wars 2 as well.

Since pvp is apprently all about spamming massive aoe on point while having blocks and invul, why don’t you give same crap to thieves? Would be just fair, imo.
And no, i am not talking about cluster bomb and choke bomb that have like 100 years travel time. Give us instant aoe spam with burn ticking for 700 dmg and immob. Thanks.
On more serious note: will we ever see any help vs aoe spam in pvp for thieves ? :/

Regardless graphic settings, some fire balls never show up during encounter yet deal dmg.
Going to edge of the platform causes agony dmg as well.

as for uplvs, i was uplv myself and i ran my own dungeons

similar issue here happend as well: no spell goes off but i can move around, dodge, talk to people in chat and use consumables… just not spells…
have to completely shut down the client and log in back to fix it -_-

most troubles i have in spvp are:
1) engi nade spammers, especially bunker ones, can’t touch them, i don’t even bother anymore
2) zerker guards, while you can in fact kill them, in 99% of the time they will one shot you

Warrior does not have even half the defenses of a Mesmer and with all those defenses if you couldn’t dodge the obvious Eviscerate animation its a learn to play issue.

Hello, i play d/p and since new armor came out i decided to change my armor around a bit so i made this build and look for opnion.
Note: i am by no means changing backpice since it cost me 500 globs to make it T_T

i would be scared of thieves that actually don’t spam it…._
7k HS at 100% HP is impossible (even if you play glass necro)… screenshots or didn’t happen
this HS with 30/30/…. traits (aka full glass), zerker gear (with some ptv), with wvw bloodlust, w/o food however
let’s assume it always crits, w/o additional debuffs and buffs it would hit you for 2k dmg maybe but surely no where near 7k
don’t forget you also have armor that reduces dmg taken, so the number would be probably way lower
my guess, what truly happend, is that thief went stealth, hit you for 10k+ backstab and then went to spam heartseeker since you probably went under 50% of you HP

actually i believe it is a bug
it indeed happend to me once and i didn’t even do anything, i was suddenly up and at full HP
i wish i knew why it happend but i have no idea :/

i saw burning ticking for 600+ before, that is way higher than any condi out there and it actually higher than some normal attacks, which really puzzles me why it is even allowed to tick for such high dmg
the problem with fear as with any CCs in this game, quite few of them are hard to read and there is no DR on CCs as well
if devs don’t want to implement DR in this game i think fear should work like in certain game i used to play: if you are feared and took certain amount dmg (% of your HP), fear breaks… there were quite few times where i died in full fear and i couldn’t do anything about it as shadow step is on 45 sec CD and often you get feared into some wall where you can’t even see anything to even be able to target shadow step on any floor
also quite few time i died getting feared into some texture and being stuck there -_-
CCs are necessary for certain classes, but being CCd to the point where you are not being able to do anything untill you are dead just generated major frustration and is not good for game imo
from balance point: what really puzzles me is why warriors are actually allowed to have so many heavy CCs… CC should make up for lack of moblity or survivability but wars don’t lack any of that… so what is the reason?
side note: i know i will get flamed by necros but i think scepter auto attack combined with traits is way too strong, i play necro as well and i was able to down people with just AA alone…it is really wrong in many ways (no risk, no costs).. i think dmg and effect from scepter AA should be shifted to other spells as well as traits

i find ice stab that we can steal from eles is horse kitten and is useless in 90% of the time… gunk at least allows quite few combo finishers

- why does Mossman attack you through stealth and keeps following you regardless if you are stealthed or not?
- why can dredge snipers attack you through the car but you can attack them back? worst part, it seems like dredge car actually absorbs??? some of the aoe as cluster and choke bomb wouldn’t have any effect not any aoe mark on the fllow if it somehow ended up particualry on the car
- why is loot at lv 40+ so garbage? i am at lv 50 and i didn’t see a single weaponskin since lv 34 and i keep getting rings that are not even infused…. why did loot had to be nerfed so bad? it used to be so much better outside of the gold reward at the end
- why at molten boss you keep taking ridicilous amount of fire dmg and sometimes random agony if you stand anywhere close to the edge of the platform?
- why does aoe effect on new maps has wider effect range than the circles marking it? you can literary stand outside of those cirles and still eat dmg from them
- WHY THE HELL exotics (that you can usually sell) dropping in fractals are account bound?!!!
- why finishing aether map as 3rd map causes your dungeon to bug out and after hitting promt button nothing happens since apprently boss instance failed to be generated….. why is that bug still there?
- WHY does LFg bug after changing post 5 or so times or when people keep leaving group and you can’t make any …unless you completely log out of the game…

i come from wow and LoL…
gw2 pvp is actually rather unique as it is more of mix of wow and LoL pvp
the thing about wow pvp, it was so heavily unbalanced that you could easily reach 1800-2k rating in arena w/o any sort of communication…. i have done it even with completely random set up for kitten and giggles like dk/rogue/sp
it is possible to win LoL matches simple the game pace is different and most can be still coordinated via team chat/pings
i do think it is kind of wrong that there is no real team requirement to do tpvp but i do think it should give more reward as organizing team is actually tiresome (especially with such small pvp community)
perfectly, i would love to see similar system like in LoL/RBG in wow:
- you can do soloq alone or with 1 friend
- you can do tpvp with a party of 5 but not alone
- i would leave the match rewards as they are though

i hated necros on my thief
i rolled a necro and realized how necros are in fact even more powerful than i thought
can’t build toughness/healing on thief w/o turning the build into complete garbage…good try though
my opnion on the whole is: all classes should have similar trade off for similar effectivness
for example:
if you want more CCs, you should trade off dmg or survivability for it
if you want to go tanky, you should trade off dmg for it
you want moblity, you should trade off survivability for it etc.
you shouldn’t be able to build tanky mobile CC machine with high dmg on top of it
the problem is that some classes indeed are too effective for little trade off
also condi dmg/tanky gear shouldn’t exist, you should be able either to build tanky or for dmg, but not both in one
having a class that is too effective in every area just causes frustration for other players, they either end up rerolling that very class or quit game, eventually game becomes boring and ppl quit (example: WoW pvp in MoP, high rated arena was consisting of mages and warriors only, people got bored of getting one shot/one shotting other and quit game → arena kind of died out)

i like this game for that very fact that it doesn’t have holy trinity
i come from WoW where having healer was a must, it was very frustrating in any aspect of the game

It started to happen after latest patch. Only 2 occurences so far. The game sound stops to works and keeps repeating sound for w/e spell was used before sound bugged out = let’s say to that very moment mesmer used auto attack, that sound would get repeated non stop and other sounds wouldn’t play untill game client is restarted. Playing however is still possible, just with that repeated sound on that very spell.
Other sounds on computer work, so it is only game. Also trying to close game, Windows shows message that programm is not responding, alt+f4 doesn’t stop the process either so only way to close client is via task manager.
P.S. changing sound options (volume for example) during that bug doesn’t have any effect on sound.

- more team support, thieves serverly lack it (venom share is not the solution)
- issues for zerg? too squishy, no stability/protection, lack of team support, too focused on single target dmg -> SB being only real source of AoE, no real AoE CCs, so why bring thief in to fight a zerg when you can bring classes that actually have support, aoe CCs and dmg
thieves are still good roamers though, but this is not what topic is about
