Look these guys want a mesmer rework, maybe we can make suggestions to and get a better deal in the end?
Say Make Phantasmal Warlock deal eviscerate/backstab damage(13-16k) instead of 2-3k but fire off only once?.. that sounds fair right?

As much as I like the graveyard…. on maps like khylo/forest this wouldn’t be possible.
Maybe on Temple or newer map we could have larger mid circles.. and that would be good.
That’s a lot of work; finding exploiters if there even are logs…(PROBABLY NOT) and even then is it worth it? How many people actually benefited from this in some way?
I’m sure there’s a simple subtraction or addition of negative glory/rank points is possible..
But what about people randomly joining these servers cause they wanted to play gw and these had a good size players? Only to find out it’s just people farming each other for glory, it’ll probably be too hard to find out if they were legitimate players or exploiters.
The balance isn’t perfect and there’s a lot of things wrong with what ArenaNet is doing, but they’re doing the best they can with the very limited resources available. The slow and small changes are frustrating to the players, but the game would be a volatile mess if they did sweeping balance patches every two weeks like everyone apparently wants.
But it already is a mess. A terrible kittening mess.
Despite all the complaining on the forums, it would be worse if they did what everyone wants them to do.
You should be happy that you have developers who actually care about PvP balance in the first place. Probably 70%+ of the balance changes in this game were directly because of PvP.
It doesn’t matter a flying kitten that they care if they are incompetent. The balance changes still sucked. Sucked hard.
In what way do “they suck” if they addressed the majority of issues in the game?
To show that they suck, I do not need to tell in what way exactly they suck. I can just observe consequences: pvp is dead, and almost all people I know (myself included) think that the pvp is not enjoyable atm.
Patch hasn’t even launched yet.. right?.. but you’re already putting forth faulty assumptions based on faulty conclusions?..
Usually during patch day my friends list lights up with 100-200 people.. so.. we’ll see what everyone thinks of the new patch and what they’ll decide to do.
Edit; yes in general the direction of the game has been negative.
Depending on when you que and what matchmaking rank you are (lower is better for time) you are more likely to get games.. I’m sure there’s way more then 200 across both ladders..
What do you expect from solo queue? It’s where people kitten and play whatever they want to. Demise plays his thief. AK plays his thief (Biebs). Toker probably plays his Ranger (no, just kidding, he only plays thief).
My point is… it’s not competitive and no one really cares about playing to be super competitive in solo queue. That can be due to lack of reward from ArenaNet which I’m sure they’re in the process of fixing.
Also, why do people refer to themselves as “Top 200 solo queue rank” or “Top 50 solo queue rank”? It’s solo queue, it shows nothing because of the lack of reward due to people playing alt classes, thus not 100% trying to win.
Yes, When I face Cmc/Ostrich Eggs/Toker/Ak on his engi/Bunker warrior I know for a fact these guys are just trolling and not trying to win. [Sarcasm]
It’s just as competitive south of 200 as any other gamemode, Build wars and Ts3 Servers all of that.
Crysis’s build will be barely effected by any change to the paralyzation sigil change. It runs only 2 stuns

Lately super bunker meta in the top 200 has been really annoying :/
Everyone brings 3-4 bunkers and just sits on points.
Balanced team with communication would win, but this is soloque, lets just all roll warriors.

It is a L2p issue.Did you not see me say SPvP? It doesn’t matter if numerically an all mesmer group won’t cut it in competitive play; it’s not a great mechanic if that can happen from just 2-3 people in any format.
It is not a L2P issue from the perspective of a badly designed targeting system. A 3 mesmer team will not beat a well-balanced team, but they’re certainly going to clog up your interface with useless nonsense.
So we can’t beat you… and therefore …..it’s imbalanced? .. One Earthshaker clears the map of all illusions lol…
When you are in SPvP and come across a guild group of 3 giant norn mesmers that fill up your screen with illusions because you cannot possibly zoom out enough to properly target anything, that is not a learn-to-play issue.

I don’t want to make assumptions, but I feel as if you’ve been playing for only a few months judging by your posts. I don’t know why you are saying Mesmers are frustrating to face “at the moment”
There has been nothing, and i mean NOTHING that the devs has done to truly buff the mesmer in many months. Go and read the past patch notes and you’ll see that between the elementalist and the Mesmer, those two classes have had several nerfs.
Oh and if you think confusion is a problem now, then you’d have a fit if you had played the game in the first few months.
That’s not totally true, they’ve buffed underused abilities and weapons for mesmer which are still mostly unused except by hotjoin/duel heros.

Additionally, I am not wanting to create an argument, but I want to shed some light on the matter of how the Mesmer is not some alpha profession. Dynamic and versatile, yes.

I’m sure you can turn off time/conquest nodes and set the team number to a maximum of 2 or 3…
and just duke it out.. Sure there’s no special reward in place.. but you want the game type not the reward or am I wrong?

I’m not sure what kills diversity more, Being able to only have 1 class per team or Disallowing 3 players on one class per team if they’re all different builds.

“oh hey would you like an extra 50 range on your dodge/transformation walk speed” ?
Skill canceling is completely different.. this is more like wave dashing in an old school game called super smash brothers melee.
I think as long as the maximum time for a pause is 3minutes and it is useable only once per game it is almost untrollable for the purposes of gaining an advantage….
So an easy way to prevent point caps would be unbreakable invisibility for everybody; coincidentally it also helps prevent emergency strategy meetings.

I’ve seen plague necros move a bit farther with a jump dodge which is a pretty strong move..

This is silly.. just plant yourself at the TP guy, and whenever you have time hit the “Return to PVE” button, Bam instant teleport to TP.

No one uses shouts. Just compare warrior’s shouts to guardian’s. Just because a class has a complete broken spec does it mean other options can’t be reworked? Not to mention an hypothetical shout build needs it’s own set of traits.
There would be no reason to move 20 points from Cleansing ire…or stop taking healing signet/Zerk Stance

The discussion is how one skill makes picking up the orb almost unstoppable with most effective counters limited to out of normal weapon set abilities which are useless in most situations, or point blank range.
Yes… Minion mancer necro… so meta..
On the subject of mesmer, the best answer is a blurred frenzy, but you have to be point blank to do it and the other answer is iDuelist which is mostly obstructed by clever positioning behind a knee high alter.
The problem is this single ability gives guardian an edge above every other class.
but thanks for thinking of unorthodox builds and solutions to run specifically against any guardian who decides to pick up focus and run orb.
If you can’t figure out how having to land 5 attacks in the space of 3 seconds to stop the highest defense class from picking up the orb is imbalanced, then I can’t help you.
(3 For sheild 1 For Aegis 1 to interrupt)
Cap time for orb should be increased 1 second to 4 seconds.

I honestly don’t see what having 5 abilities and 3 utilities available has anything to do with landing 4 attacks in the amount of time it takes to cap the orb.
This is a broken mechanic and you know it.
But if it’s 1v1 guardian on orb; guardian should always get orb when a 25-35 weapon cd is up?.. not sure if want.
I just want to know if this is intended.. I mean if illusionary leap /phase retreat is so OP that I can’t use them while I have the orb, I’m wondering why something like this is allowed?

I love this map :/ don’t touch my skyhammer.. of those survey’d in game around 2-3 people per game have a problem with it.
sheild of wrath + Aegis means most classes can’t stop a guardian from range. OR melee for that matter.
The problem is people are using GVG as a name instead of what it really is ZvZ because that’d be offensive to the zerglings, sure its two guilds fighting each other, it’s also two zergs fighting each other, so any time two zergs(15-25 people) fight each other it’s ZvZ, and maybe also gvg.

The eviscerate on asura warrior looks like a dodge.
There are Problems that need to be fixed.
I play a tree, I hover around the top 100 in soloque so yes everyone is an asura.
Asuras are too small, Particle effects are too great..
BUT MOST OF ALL it’s because their animations are different from anybody elses and not different more pronounced/better, different we didn’t have the budget to do good animations so we sorta winged it.
500 matches…. 85 gold… 1 gold per match?
85/500 = 0.17
17 silver per match.
Also I find this to be anecdotal evidence at best.
I know one guy who spent 500k glory on buying chests and salvaging them that guy now has carpal tunnel syndrome.
