They already have it with the reward tracks.
Well in theory at least. 5 runs of the bitterfrost path get you berries for an ascended armor piece if I read the rewards right. Thats probably a weeks job for someone farming EB/EoTM WvW. Dont know if it gives enough of the unbound magickitten currency though.
But still… You can get it. Is that not a longterm goal?
They do not already have it with the reward tracks. Pvp – getting a new currency for the purchase of ascended weapons and an ascended armor set. WvW – some winterberries from a reward track to purchase what? A backpack and two rings. Not sure how you think that equates, but it doesn’t.
Oh right, I confused that breather for an actual helmet, ie an ascended armor piece, sorry. My bad. Hey I said it was in theory :p

The newer triumphant armor look fine enough to me, none of that skirt/coat kitten.
Also, Fractals gave me lice just standing there.
Is it really so hard to understand the concept of endgame zones? Its supposed to be high level! Its supposed to be harder than running around on a farm outside DR!
But even so and even with the massive boost of elites and veterans in the instanced story mission, the new zone itself is… meh. I really dont see the difficulty. I can run in and farm berries in the forrest just fine without even attacking the mobs. Are the Svanir trickier? Sure they are. That massive attack killed me the first time as it completely caught me by surprise. But again… its a freaking endgame zone thats supposed to be hard.
Its not even going to be a challenge in a couple of months anyway, when people have adjusted. Hell I remember the first time I went into Arah. It was guild run and it took us 2 godkitten hours to give up and fail the path. Thats godkitten right. We failed it and I’m proud to say that. Nowadays a freaking thief can solo that kitten.
The pilot class is irrelevant as the runes wont do anything, what you need is at least one scrapper copilot specced into final salvo running 5 gyros. When rotating them all you get a ton of superspeed for several golems (one scrapper cant quite perma superspeed you but two can do it). Mesmer portals also help but are on such long cooldown.
Wouldn’t it be beneficial to add standard enemy model options to wvw?
Anyone activating the kodan tonic showing as standard model instead of kodan to enemies is a perfectly acceptable solution.
If you’re going to keep combat tonics in WvW, can you fix their animations at least? It’s quite annoying how some animations are not identifiable while transformed.
Give it another update and tonics will probably be prohibited completely in WvW when yet another exploit is found.
I really fail to see why we just dont skip the pointless phase of it being broken to when we can play real WvW again.
For those saying “omg but how can I avoid pin sniping, I need my tonics”, that’s not a freaking excuse. Commanders create that situation themselves by going brainless guard-necro-lets-all-dps-until-we’re-numb meta while excluding the classes that bring the tools to combat pin sniping.
I think that you miss the point of the dailies… For many people it’s NOT just about getting that little 2g hit for doing 3 dailies.. Many people like to do ALL the dailies they can in every aspect of the game they can. Anyone who plays this game a lot knows it’s super easy to get the 2g for the daily stuff… and that’s without even trying really.. I get that when I’m on within the hour regardless of where I am it seems.
But for those that like to do all the dailies (and I know a few myself) then this becomes a different issue.
The OP makes the WvW dailies sound more difficult than they actually are, and for him that’s a reality. Slapping people down for their view isn’t productive. Providing reasonable answers and solutions is.
Completionists do what they do with a purpose. I fail to see why “hard” dailies would ever deter them. That is the only reasonable answer. PvE will have much more annoying dailies, not to mention sPvP if a class you never play pop up and you get the privilege to loose 5 times in a row. If people want to do everything – get every daily, every skin, every legendary or every achievement in the game I doubt they have time for WvW anyway. And if you want to play WvW… well then who cares about achievements? Not doing every WvW achievement aint gonna change WvW for you. If it does… well I cant relate. Sorry.
I suspect this has to do with running the game not on the lowest settings. (Like maybe it is high post processing effects causing FPS drops)
For my potato machine, I run everything on super low for WvW, and never have any noticeable effects from Kodan Tonic spam.
While it would be nice ANET to fix this abuse, but, for now, you can try setting everything low, or diagnosing which setting(s) is(are) related to the lightning effect.
nope I would say it is cause by dx 9 api that try to solve programming issue on the cpu. the more graphic that are send the more programming issue the dx9 high level api try to solve. the slow down happen on the cpu(cpu bound issue)
dx 12 low level api require that most of the programming issue be solve from the start so that there is no slow down in the cpu.
Previously DirectX has strictly provided only a fairly high level of hardware abstraction to make the life of coders easier. However, the downside is that developers are less able to optimise performance for specific hardware. With Direct3D 12, Microsoft will provide more direct access to hardware features.
One of the key improvements is a reduction in draw call overhead, which is the delay inherent in the CPU asking the GPU to render something. This had become something of a bottleneck in previous versions, limiting the amount of objects that could be on screen, but with the new changes the hope is that the GPU will no longer be left waiting for the CPU to tell it what to do.
Direct3D 12 will allow—and force—game developers to manually manage all resources used by their games more directly than before. While higher level APIs offer convenient views to resources such as textures, and may hide others like the GPU-native representation of command lists or storage for some types of state from developers completely, in D3D12 all of these can and must be managed by the developers.
This not only means direct control over which resources reside in which memory at all times, but also makes game programmers responsible for ensuring that all data is where the GPU needs it to be when it is accessed. The GPU and CPU have always acted independently from each other in an asynchronous manner, but the potential problems (e.g. so-called pipeline hazards) arising from this asynchronicity were handled by the driver in higher-level APIsyou can read more at this link:
http://www.pcgamer.com/what-directx-12-means-for-gamers-and-developers/2/
So ignoring exactly everything written in this fantasy salespitch of DX12, has there been any DX12 capable game these last 2 years that has shown anything other than marginal single digit fps improvements or considerably lower fps for the same visual quality as previous DX versions?
If you are not playing WvW to have commendations rain all over you, you are doing it wrong.
With loot going across all your guilds, you can be running closed raid with guild X and still get a commendation because guild Y finishes a mission. This is part of why community guilds are great.
Since WvW is the only gamemode where the guild system is required to even compete and where it literally killed small guilds, I find it acceptable to see poor PvErs squirm for lost loot opportunities. Because its not like PvE give more loot otherwise or something.

I agree with the ranking daily. When you start getting up there in rank its not going to happen in a day, which is a jerk move on the part of the developers to put something so ridiculous in! Truth its a slap in the face!
Eh what? WvW ranks is a fixed amount of XP no matter if you are rank 50 or 5000. Getting 2 ranks is like 30 minutes if you EB zerg, maybe an hour otherwise. There is nothing hard about it.
Either way, the dailies are there to encourage you to play all the aspects of the game. Not just WvW. Some are more annoying than the rest, true. But if you do something in PvE for less than 5 minutes, maybe do a single sPvP match and WvW for less than 5 minutes you are basicly guaranteed completing the 2g daily. It has to be really kittenty RNG to fail.
If you only do WvW dailies to complete it – which undoubtedly will take longer – then that is your choice. People complaining about this only have themselves to blaim. Dont want to do easy dailies? Then dont complain.
Excelsior.
Two people figured my main problem out: Super annoying CC in narrow spaces, corridors and bridges.
One of the first HoT annoyances was a steep, winded walkway up to a rock/boulder that lead to a bridge. That path was filled with like 10 caterpillar things that knocked me back and forth. I literally could not proceed there. That was one of the moments where I really yelled “Bad game design!!” at the screen and shut it down. That was on my Engineer (with Scrapper being unlocked but I hate that “Elite” trait and the Stilson wrenches – but no skill points to spend in so far as I just entered the jungle).
Not sure how that works out with thief / daredevil, but being bounced back and forth is not a challenge at all. Especially when every (!) thing is attacking you; I’d rather have mobs that decide not to attack you when you’re posing a threat to them (e.g. comparing your stats to a mob’s thresholds – numbers too high? Better don’t attack the player).
Or projectile-blocking enemies. As Engineer, trolololol. Until I could come close to them, I died already. But oh well, that is probably another “challenge”, a “git gut” problem or “trait misconception”.
Yes, well if you have a problem with that on the only class that can have 2-3 stacks of perma stability then no one can help you.
Full gyro scrapper has high superspeed uptime (two of them can move a golem army at perma superspeed but no server seems to have thought about that…). That said, if it comes to actually escorting said dolly against enemies an ele will have a ton more healing to it.
as far as testing dummies go those were my wvw numbers without perplexity runes in wich case i managed to land 25k dps on a mesmer, necro and warr
Cant say I have ever seen an engineer kill someone in less than a second. Most mesmers I fight stealth, block, reflect, the necros go into DS while turning my condis against me and the warriors… anyone worth their salt can barely be touched with nike builds that regen 10% hp a second (and also reflect for good measure).
Since most attacks on the engie are AoE, you should be able to solo a 30 man zerg with that kind of dps!
What are you fighting, level 10 guys in blue armor with no skills unlocked?
even as an engineer i can do 9-15k DPS worth of condi with 4 keypresses and that is without perplexity runes
15k dps on what, 5 training dummies standing still in front of you?
WvW is not PvE.
Good luck doing those 15k on a single power meta roaming warrior. In fact, good luck even doing 1k dps – chances are higher he will still outheal you.
The “condi meta” issues is dire/trailblazers having too few compromises on certain specific classes that doesnt rely on crit chance to sustain condi damage (thief and mesmers the most obvious culprits, an engineer actually require crit to be effective and will rarely run full dire). Remove them. Its that simple.
I dont know if engineer is good at offering anything other than dps to a zerg and water healing blast finisher with healing turret.
Hahahahohoho… Oh man, engineer is good for exactly nothing in a zerg so have fun with that. Running vipers, the only thing you are gonna be good at is rallybotting the enemy.
It has its merits in solo/smallscale and can go head to head with the best builds when played well, but even so on vipers it will be a glass cannon. I seriously doubt one could survive a duel against another tougher engie using a rabid/dire combo as above. The problem is the current class climate – better glass cannons such as warriors (glass cannon being a relative term with the 1000hp/s regen and all) are gonna roflstomp you in a single charge before you even get any damage in and sustain condis are gonna out-tank you.
like 90% of fsp player dont want to do ppt bcz is boring we prefer to fight to have some nice fight instead of fighting dors/walls anet should increase ppk instead of ppt. Most of ppl who want to have some good fights are spiting between fps, deso&vabbi.
Got plenty of people that want to PPT, but its incredibly hard to do, usually due to one of two things:
A) Enemies bring 20+ man roaming parties and proceed to focus target 10v1. As soon as the they only outnumber us 2:1, they retreat back into towers and keeps we cant even try to take.
B) Enemies behave so off the rails, so unexpectedly odd that our brain melts from incomprehension and we completely forget how to PPT.
In the case of B, on reset we encountered a group 3v5, but they entrenched themselves at an objective with a shield generator and a ballista. We must have stood there staring at each other for 5 minutes. Luckily we had a 4th random pug come from the flank, we saw an opportunity and charged. We wiped them.
The objective? The sentry north of Dawns on our homeborder :/
Now how the kitten are you supposed to think about PPT when you have seen things?
“Viable” is a matter of perspective. Problem is that in the current sPvP climate, you’re either going to meet classes you cant go near (such as dh trap point holders) or you will meet heavy CC cqb classes that you need far more stab/protection/reflect/block/evade etc skills against. Your build will be mediocre as the former because you wont have enough CC to dislodge them while the latter is what the scrapper does best.
I like playing p/p condi scrapper in PvP but “viable”… ugh, lets just say I play it because I want to play it and leave it at that.

Its nowhere near enough, what is that crap?!
As everyone know, minspec for GW2 is Intel i7 7xxx series, 64gb ram, Nvidia Titan X in a quad sli setup (dual sli if you want to run on peasant quality graphics), 2TB M.2 SSDs in raid0 (5000/1000 mpbs write speed minimum) and not one but two physical soundcards to drive each of your Sennheiser Orpheus headphone speakers.
u farming bit coins there?? o.O
What? No thats ridiclous. I have a Cray in the backyard hangar for that.

Personally, I think selling gamble boxes should be prohibited by law. Maybe one day, they will be, once enough people get burned and make a big enough fuss. It’s predatory, no way around that, and there are other methods of monetization that are way more consumer friendly. Gamble boxes are a lazy and mean-spirited (IMO) way for gaming companies to make a little more money in the short term and can have terrible long term PR consequences.
There is enough RNG in these games, why should we be paying for RNG as well?
What is more consumer friendly? Farming gold for 100 hours to get the same skin that could rng drop in a box?
Look, there are good and bad “gamble boxes” in games. GW2 isnt bad. There is no real advantage to opening the boxes. The boosters are nice, but wont help you compete in sPvP or WvW. Skins remain skins.
If you want to see bad, look at how Star Trek Online was a couple of years ago (and maybe still is, I havent played it for a long time). Boxes dropped everywhere to the point of littering instances while you did them because people didnt even want to loot them anymore. Yet the boxes could still drop ships. Thats like a GW2 box dropping the Herald elite spec, unless you unlock it for $50.
THE SOURCE OF THIS GAMES PROBLEMS BUILD DIVERSITY.
Which means that 5v5 is the issue.
You will only ever get 5 meta builds while the rest are underpowered, per every PvP players definitions. Yet there are 9 classes. 9 != 5. “Balance” can never be achieved.
Simple as that.
According to A-net a race change is not an option considering the racial lore and class stories… but having a human form illusion would not break the racial lore….
A human “iillusion” while maintaining the gear you want to show off is race changing.
But sure if you want to run around as a stock human in starter gear…
No its not race changing at all…. because you can allways go back to your orriginal race…
You could even make it a feature, when you get the illusion, it opens up some of the other racial story quests to you… which might be interesting for people who allways stick to a single character/mmo..
Race changing would mean that your racial story quests could have never happened…
Sigh… Look, you said the purpose was to show of your fanypants gear. That means what you are wearing – even if it happen to be race specific – need to be somehow converted to the new race you become.
Whether it last 1 hour or 1 year is irrelevant to the argument.
You want race change, literally.
Tonics or transformations is not the same thing. They give you a default look, same for everyone.

You know how much loot drops in an event like say… dragons stand? Now compare the odds of getting one exotic there compared to the greens and blues. Thats still not close to the odds of getting something usefull from a bl chest.
TL;DR buy 500 keys.
No they havent succeded in the long Term. An actual way to look at it is the game Watchdog of ubisoft.
Watchdog 1 was in Terms of Sale a success. But Watch Dog 2 is a fail in terms of Sale. The reason is simple. They “lied one time to much”.
So u can belive me or not A-Net wont pay their depths in gw2. But if ever gw3 comes out or another game form An-Net. They will pay the bills.
That is just a bunch of words garbled together without forming any kind of coherent post.
Anyway, GW2 is approaching 5 years old. For all intents an purposes, its still thriving. Anet are active and so is its players. Given the gaming scene climate the last 5 years of one MMO after another being toppled by stupid design decisions or developers being greedy beyond comprehension, thats a good resumé. There is no “red flags”. GW2 has already lived far beyond expectations.
We still complain of course. Because we love the kitten game.
If you are outnumbered then the cross swords flag would be disabled for your side. Rather than getting zerg stomped 25vs 5, it would switch the game to a more hunter seeker mode giving the smaller server something to play for.
Lol as if outmanned servers make swords on a regular basis… I really dont understand what you even mean to accomplish with this suggestion.
Tag incentive, if you tag you get first dibs on guild claim objectives. Not enough tags play.
Pointless, why would the tag always get first dibs? You can only claim one thing on a border. It apply to the commanders as well. Getting a claim is in no way incentive to tag.
Server chat, not map or cross servers, but so we can recruit and talk to old time friends.
Do you want to get ants? Cause that’s how you get ants.
Gold sellers would have a field day.
Wvw tokens that don’t just by siege, have loads of both need some wvw armour/weapons /guild upgrades/something to aim for. Be nice if it was wvw specific maybe you could have your own coat of arms so if you took an objective it showed your guild and under your flag.. even if it was a pre defined customisable pennant (stripes/colours etc)
That’s how the game already work…
(they’re way too squishy with no proper form of damage mitigation)
(ignoring the fact the thief is the only class that perma-evade you to death).
Why let people craft unusable stuff though?
Who says they let people do it?
Maybe its not Anet fault that the OP scriber made such a worthless chair that its unusable. He should have had an actual woodworker and furniture maker do it.
I mean this is like being able to read IKEA instructions just fine yet still expect to build a workable thing in the end. Its impossible!
@wwDefuser.2056
Think that seeing the full rank will make it too long again. I don’t really care much about the ranks myself (because of so much random quality anyways). But a slight change to just show say Bronze/Silver/Gold etc, and skip all the extra ones.
example: “Red Bronze [SIN][Kain]”
But then, I think it almost gets too long again. I’d still probably just skip the rank entirely, unless they could manage to make a small in-obtrusive icon for it.
Why even see rank? What possible use could that be? I mean sure people probably yell “that diamond invader is a noob, kill him” all the time but in terms of overall WvW its utterly pointless fluff. We dont need to know ranks in the tag.
How the tag should be:
Main (above player head) – server [tag]
Secondary (targetted info) – guild name WvW rank PvE title
And the server would show the true server even if you are secondary in a link.
Its really that simple.
Would you rather the achievements just show who can google and read wikipedia/dulfy the best?
Dont worry, the Quaggan expansion will be stopped when our noble Grand High Sovereign swoops in and rescue us with valiant steam creatures.
I wish Anet would release metrics on how often traps are used.
If I guess about 1 stealth trap every 3 hours across all servers both EU and US and 90% of the traps placed time out before any thief trigger them, would I be too far off?
Or they could actually make it so that tags fade out when a player isnt visible on your viewport.
But sure, lets annoy a large part of the WvW base instead with the new absolutely worthless and kittenty tags thats the opposite of what people wanted since we wanted to differentiate linked servers.
Its not like WvW need players, right?
3-way blobfight lag is caused by the global server skill queue getting clogged and unable to send info fast enough back to players.
There are few (if any) computers currently existing that can show 150+ players on screen without dipping to low fps but that is irrelevant. They didnt exist 4 years ago and they still dont today. The only thing you would do is possibly reduce the memory load – which is still irrelevant to begin with as the low quality generic model setting already does that (it still wont perform well).
… or those that rank farmed in obsidian.
There are places where I think CC against the player is overdone. and it can get a bit annoying, but over all I don’t see much of a problem.
Every mob in PvE should be like the lord in the SW tower on dbl.
That would be fun.
Black friday started 17h ago over here and it should definetly be friday in the US by now. No sale yet? Well then there is your answer.
It’s only 7:25 in the morning where ANet is. It’s still a bit early.
OP, check the gemstore in about an hour and a half from now.
Friday began midnight though, but I suppose maybe Americans are too lazy to get up that early :p
Haha easily possible with a nomad anything. A mace guard for example can tank buffed WvW lords. But of course, your damage will be kitten. I wouldnt use it in PvE.
Reaper remain by far the best facetanker with damage because you can build it to regen a ton of lf and hp in shroud, ie you will be immortal as long as you maintain shroud most of the time.
Cut out a sheet of cardboard about 30cm wide and 10cm high, then duct-tape it to the monitor.
No need to thank me, you’re weclcome.
Black friday started 17h ago over here and it should definetly be friday in the US by now. No sale yet? Well then there is your answer.
Indeed. DPS? What do you need that for? Are you in some kind of hurry? Equipping condi cleanse is easy.
But granted, dying is even easier. I run PvE in my rabid WvW build and laugh every single time I see people drop like rocks on bosses that barely tickle you.
Also, the zones HoT and later is supposed to be endgame. They have always been endgame. Its all about bumping up the numbers, more veterans, more champions and more difficult events across the board.
What, you want to go back to baby difficulty zones like Orr?
You know what happens when a slow flying glider flap its wings?
You fall out of the sky like someone thats just been been stupid enough to negate the one aerodynamical property that kept them airborne.
Unless you have the lower body of a hamster and the arms of a gorilla with lighter than air bones and helium for blood you aint gonna flap good enough.
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
Even the old legendaries had different classes, the good ones and the bugged/broken ones with subdued effects. The only one thats remained gay through all the changes is the unicorn bow.
The subject phrasing means its lagging rarely or not at all. Thats positive.
you’ll also have to be more effective at reducing the enemies point income.
Meaning, dominate the enemy with superior numbers.
Hm. That somehow sounds familiar.
Rabid work fine in WvW. Where rabid fails you, viper/trailblazer would probably have failed as well. The builds that kill you wont be the ones that cant stand there and soak up the difference between 60% and 90% duration, it’ll be those that you cant hit with ranged, conditions just glide off of, they regen 10% hp a sec or all of the above at once.
Yes, thanks for a pointless change that’s the complete opposite of what people really wanted out of nametags.
Without labels all I see is mountains, oceans and possibly lava
