I play ele and yesterday a warrior gave me a hard time. He was so sticky every encounter i met him till i went down it was anoying ^^. He didn´t blow me fast but ….

The strongest server gets 2v1’d. DIRECTLY encouraged by the new system, even more than the 321 system.

Why?

Quite the contrary, the strongest server is probably always so far ahead the other two cant compete. This only lead to the strongest deciding whos the second strongest (ie the one not getting focused). Weakest server wont focus strongest because it probably cant.

Pointwise, the system will only work if hitting stronger targets is rewarded more than hitting weaker ones.

So lets say that 3 get 20% more score for hitting 2 and 40% more for hitting 1.
2 would get 20% more score for hitting 1 and 20% less score by hitting 3.

Etc and so on.

Someone is apparently not playing WvW because repping is an integral part of the game mode and cannot be removed without major changes to how claiming and tactivators work.

kittenty PvE or kittenty sPvP isnt the only mode.

The main probably I see with 2-1-1 is that it makes the strongest server basicly decide who comes second place, instead of themselves fighting for that. The idea that the two weaker servers will play friends and gang up on the strongest is… just not going to happen. No, they will both fight each other like they should, then the top dog comes in and sits on one of them causing them to loose.

As with the old system, this only works if the wins are traded between all three servers on a frequent basis, except now you dont even have to bother fighting for 2nd place because it wont help. Just roll over and die already.

And yet when scrapper gyros acted exactly like the DH traps with going on cooldown after used and dazing, they nerfed them 100ft below the ground. Hm. Odd.

traps had multiple nerfs. they just got nerfed again. the daze is gone now.

They can still be double popped and the daze got replaced by slow.

You know what the daze on gyros was replaced with?

Pistol changes has already been done. Poison volley and glue shot got a boost if I dont remember incorrectly. In terms of a one on one, p/p can easily match hammer. Rifle will never do it no matter how much they buff or nerf it because the skills suck.

Well if you paid $1 for a 1 in 1000 chance to get $1 worth back, would you gamble?

Problem with games is that they are completely unregulated. Sure some might play fair, but others wont. When physical casinos do that, its illegal. When games do it via boxes… they are laughing all the way to the bank.

I would make a mayor change. No out/in combat diffrence. Speed as out of combat and basicall you are in combat in WvW exept when in an uncontestet keep/tower or the base.
Always hated that get fast out of combat timer ….

Would need some kind of healing potion then for people who don’t use passive heal and only use incombat heals like heal on hit. Nvm we have med kits….I knew they existed for a reason!

Eh that make no sense. Without OOC regen you use your heal or other healing skills until you have full HP. Even passive heals heal when popped. Its not exactly complicated.

In case you missed it, my own statement about AMD’s performance in future DX12/Vulkan games was laced with a good dose uncertainty.

All DX12 games this last year has shown marginal improvements for AMD (like avg 5-10fps) or major performance loss on both AMD and Nvidia (avg 5-25 fps with catastrophic frametime dips compared to DX11). So yeah, a good dose of uncertainty.

Anyway, there’s a good bunch of various cards in the ~250 range now. Even the low end 1060 3gb is just fine for GW2 – you wont notice any difference from the 6gb version there. If it’s a main PC gaming machine I wouldnt recommend either that or any AMD, I’d say go straight for a GTX 1070. It’ll easily last a year or two extra over the GTX 1060, justifying the higher price.

I did mean that you won’t get driving license if you crash like 5 times in driving test.

Considering the driving school cars doesnt seem to be capable of driving any faster than 30km/h I’d be amazed if they even can crash. I always assumed that on the inside they are like the Flinstone cars

Most likely so that the Chinese version of GW2 can easily note chances there (I dont know the law so I dont know if common/rare/exotic/etc is enough or if you need values). Of course we’ll never see that in the EU/US version of GW2.

Please tell that to half the drivers in the world because everytime I am on the highway people keep insisting on being in the middle of 3 lanes (which in my country is punishable by a hefty fine if the cops bother to ticket you, yet everyone does it anyway).

I dont consider this to be a major issue – if someone has to abuse OOC to win fights then they suck, plain and simple. Yeah you may die to them, but at least you have your honor. This is the reason I never “duel” that thief clearly standing on the side challenging you to what they consider a fair 1v1. I will happily 5v1 on them whenever possible without remorse. Sorry good and skilled thieves, the tards have spoiled the class.

That said, I wouldnt really mind a tweak to this either. Regening a max of 50% HP OOC for example or something simple like that.

There is at least one in every match…

Last one I played I had a thief whisper me about how I cant play power builds, how I condi cheese. I couldnt even whisper back as he had me blocked. Not even the decency to insult me over map chat, lol. Also, I did 700K power damage that match :/

For some reason thieves are vastly overrepresented in that area. Hmm.

WvW has much more classy players. Yesterday where mailed a cheese wedge after we 3v1 someone, lol. It was the highlight of the evening.

I guess they are talking about stored proof of heroics earned by your main character. Otherwise 30 seconds would indeed be very fast.

Well earned by any character. I cant remember what’s needed, 200 proofs or whatever it is. I have 2000 of them currently (and have probably spent that number already on siege and crap). They are fairly easy to come by. So with scrolls, tomes and proofs you can get a character to 80 with full mastery without stepping a foot in HoT.

No. It violate the principle of activity creating activity. If a 50 man zerg jumps to a border where there are 2 enemies AFK in spawn, the point is that the very presence of a 50 man zerg there forces the other servers to react and deploy people – preferably their own 50 man zerg.

All this will do is cripple the WvW population by constantly pushing down the bar. It wont go up again. People would just leave WvW sooner. Being outmanned isnt ideal for anyone but lower cap… no. I dont accept that.

Capping PPK/PPT based on population differences is a much more balanced approach.

It varies by a fair bit but I generally do about 700-900K dmg (about 2:1 power:condi) on my p/p scrapper but that says absolutely nothing when it comes to sPvP. 50/50 win ratio is just an indication that you are meeting average competition – which is exactly what you should do, otherwise you would have unbalanced matchups.

Dying should cost something (maybe 5g/death) so people wouldn’t die like idiots whole time. Smart players stay inside keep and towers and use siege.

It would probably take less than 30 minutes for WvW to come to a complete halt.

Well at least people would stop complaining since they will be too busy playing PvE.

Seriously the average tyrian must be wondering why we haven’t been put in a straight jacket yet.

The fact that we are a heavily armed mercenary force that that run around laughing when we kill each other with rainbows, unicorns, fireworks and flamethrowers there might a be reason they are keeping their distance.

Besides, people standing around staring into nothing while drooling – obviously being someplace else in their minds – should have alarmed you much earlier.

It’s yet another nerf for the glory of purity of purpose.

I dont know about anyone else, but landing the attack at the end of a rifle jump is kitten near impossible in a real combat situation, either sPvP or WvW. The few times I use the rifle (the very very very few times) its similar to how a Warrior use the greatsword swirl. The point blank attack is the damage dealer, the landing is pure luck and mostly for evasion. Ever seen a Warrior pop whirlwind attack for the explicit purpose of hitting that target at 450 range? Yeah. Right.

This is just a plain nerf. The boost in damage is irrelevant.

You can still use it as a escape.

Previously rifle 5 is “either damage or mobility” the split damage nature meant that it couldn’t be used for both, as bursting someone with it required casting it on yourself in melee range.

At least now we can jump at people and give them a decent whack on landing, and it use as a escape ability is unchanged.

Sure the change is not going to be making rifle meta anytime soon, but it’s not a nerf.

Exactly, the rifle need to be nerfed due to purity of purpose.

Take your comment that HoT isn’t good for solo players. I have a guild full of people who solo and many of them play HoT without a problem. They don’t have to group. They figured out how to get around and do the zones

That doesnt really change the fact that HoT zones has a much different design philosophy compared to first generation zones.

I know tons of people that solo dungeon bosses. Does that mean dungeons arent designed as group content?

No, it really wont. This has been the argument for every subscription game since WoW. CU with subscriptions is dead on arrival. I expect it to last maybe 6 months before imploding due to low population. I just looked up gameplay footage on youtube, yep, still nothing substantial (also, still womit inducing animations).

WoW still has a subscription model and makes tons of money with kitten from their store. So, CU will be able to force a subscription on players when the game is worth playing.
If you can’t afford 12,99 per month for a subscription, you shouldn’t play.

You know, I said since WoW. I’m not an idiot, I know what WoW is. Its the very reason why the subscription area is saturated. Yeah, 12.99 isnt much. and then you got 11.99 for Game Y too. And 10.99 for Game X, thats cheaper! Oh and Game Z has 19.99 DLCs every 3 months you got to have.

When you are paying 100+ a month for games that force you to play them to get your moneys worth… you really dont want to pay anything anymore. Especially not when F2P competetive games and B2P games like GW2 came along. Subscription games collapsed in the West, with the exception of a few very old behemoths.

I stand by my belief that CU is doomed to failure as long as they keep subscriptions. The only way I can see them get around it is by using a very small token figure thats so tempting not even naysayers can deny trying it for an extended time, say 3 bucks a month or something.

But I suppose we are are drifting really bad now. What where we talking about? Oh right.

From the get go it was clear that stronghold needed the 8v8 sPvP back in order to be fun. 5v5 is simply too few on a map that activly discourage PvP by spreading everyone out too much.

I suspect this has to do with running the game not on the lowest settings. (Like maybe it is high post processing effects causing FPS drops)

For my potato machine, I run everything on super low for WvW, and never have any noticeable effects from Kodan Tonic spam.

While it would be nice ANET to fix this abuse, but, for now, you can try setting everything low, or diagnosing which setting(s) is(are) related to the lightning effect.

nope I would say it is cause by dx 9 api that try to solve programming issue on the cpu. the more graphic that are send the more programming issue the dx9 high level api try to solve. the slow down happen on the cpu(cpu bound issue)

dx 12 low level api require that most of the programming issue be solve from the start so that there is no slow down in the cpu.

Warhammer Total War, random Youtube video test GTX1080 – DX11 is 5-15 fps faster than DX12.
Rise Of The Tomb Raider, Hardocp DX comparison – DX11 is about 10 fps faster than DX12 on a Fury X, 5 fps faster on a 980Ti
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Guru3D benchmark – DX11 is 15 fps faster than DX12 at 1080p on a GTX1080, about as fast at higher resolution
Battlefield 1, Gamersnexus benchmark – DX11 being considerably faster across the board with DX12 showing disastrous frametimes (min framerate 25 fps on a GTX1080 FTW Hybrid vs 96 fps in DX11).
Civilization VI, Overclock3D DX12 benchmark – DX11 is 10-30 fps faster than DX12 at any resolution.

So yes… Please tell me all about the magic fantasy performance boosts DX12 will bring that’s sure to improve GW2 just like it has for every other game.

Then again maybe Anet are wizards, what do I know.
