Skye Eterna ~ Mesmer | Arya Slade ~ Charrdian | Kiera Thine ~ Ranger
Oceanic ~ [LOD] [Noob]
More like having a whole armour set that is useless everywhere except for one encounter. Considering you can do this boss naked, condition damage is overkill IMO.
Despite being inferior DnT swine I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and call ‘troll’
The best bit is, you can’t even crit the boss so PVT is fine. And yet here we are with legions of scrubs crying.
Power/Vit/Condition is the best armor for the tree. everyone knows this. Only casuals dont have a carrion set to swap to in their inventory.
Don’t know if srs.
I’d buy an expansion if it secured us a dungeon team.
And I mean a proper dungeon team, not just one guy focussing solely on how to fit as many Dredge AI into the one instance as he can.
Edit: ^ Yay you fixed it!!! ^-^
I think I found the gem buying community when I started selling slots. One guy wants to buy p4 for 40g, better get off my kitten and learn how to do that path xD
Tafu
All party members should have gear with Power as the primary stat, condition damage actually isn’t so rubbish on this boss but let’s not get into that. It’s basically just a DPS race, easiest way is to have coordinated reflects (guardian works best IMO) and burst him down before you get overwhelmed by spiders that ignore reflects/your reflects run out. Note you can melee cleave through the boss for double the damage, so bringing Warriors/Guards/Ele’s is a safe way to go, as always single target DPS isn’t as good here. (Though other classes can pick up a Fiery Greatsword/Lightning Hammer to make the most of cleave.)
Also kudos on not just branding this path impossible and crying for nerfs.
I’ve started trying stacking inside more and more bosses to see what else I can avoid. So far I’ve got Legendary Fimbul from HotW p3, stacking inside him lets you completely avoid his cone AoE knock back, not that anyone runs that dungeon anyway. And the avoiding the triple knock back projectile chain that Champion Giants do, like that event that’s always up in the middle of Diessa Plateau.
As for a fix? Make bosses include themselves in their hit boxes, like Alpha’s Teeth of Mordremoth first AoE starts inside his green target circle.
Yeahhh that bird also loves aggroing stuff like TA and Arah. So I’d wave at it as I click kick >:D
I think you missed my point. You can’t intentionally summon the bird with Pirate Runes, but you can with the Pirate Sword (town clothes), it acts as a mini in combat, but grats on being yet another ignorant trigger happy kicker. I bet you kick Guardians who try to “DPS” with a Greatsword instead of healing w/ mace.
But seriously, I love trolling guildies with it, oh the rage that starts when they can’t figure out whose it is cause we all have the same tag xD
Moral of the story: start your own dungeon instance. I pug 75% of my runs for nearly a year and there have been no issues with ‘getting kicked/ppl selling my spots’ drama.
Oh, but I do kick someone the moment I see that kitten tropical bird. And people who scream ‘REZ ME’ over 5 times when the waypoint is right in front and party is ooc.
Wow mean. I summon my Tropical Bird in dungeons sometimes cause I like to see it flying around… It gives my mini someone to play with while I’m off fighting naughty monsters >:]
Axe #3, Mace #5 on Warrior when he isn’t surrounded by roots does the trick
I’m too scared to melee tag him since he pimp slapped me across the room.
Yeah, I mean I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a few half decent pug Rangers and Necros out there, but really it’s a 99% chance to get a bad one, so why risk it?
Oh my god if I went back to Pugging I’d hit my kick limit within an hour.
“LFM AC Exp speed runs, experienced + Berserker please”
Ranger, kick.
Necro, kick.
Ooh a Thief! 503 AP? Kick.
“Okay ping gear guys”
Rares, kick.
That armour doesn’t even match what you’re wearing, kick.
“Let’s go guys”
Wow staff Elementalist, kick.
Shout Heal Warrior? Kick.
ETC ETC
Gee if only I was in a guild where people don’t run trash, oh wait I am
Dodging is a tactic, and from what I’ve heard, a pretty advanced one.
Haha yes I noticed this yesterday. Luckily I was first to the bottom so I didn’t eat any boulders, can’t say the rest of the team was so fortunate. Guess we just gotta get to the bottom at the same time. Anet cutscenes are OP pls nerf.
We can speed clear together! I’ll bring my friends who run AH Guards and my Shout Heal Warrior, we’ll blitz through paths! Like an hour per path tops
Oh god he edited it, I wondered what you were all quoting xD
Only flagged posts get infracted, and that’s the only time Mods come here. He logs in, checking the recent flagged posts, the look of horror spreads across his face when he discovers its origin…. The dungeon sub-forum. He’s been warned, but nothing could prepare him for this. He cracks his knuckles and clicks on the link. Slamming his eyes shut he has the cursor path to the delete button memorised, less he be poisoned himself. He does the deed, praying to Kormir that such a deletion was correctly sanctioned by the “play how you want” PVT Carebear.
Oh my god, PuGs have a better chance of dodging AoE’s than wrapping their tiny brains around trying to 1:4 the golems. Path 1 most likely to tear a PuG apart IMO.
So you make your team 4 man dungeons?
Jokes aside, there’s dozens of TAFU threads and one giant merged one in here somewhere that will explain how impossible the new TAkittenhas become. In the meantime I’ll be off making a killing from Nightmare Coils.
Edit: I think they’ve put a kitten filter on the path name because of all the whining….
Any maze given enough reruns is going to feel like a “long boring corridor”.
I genuinely don’t understand you Mad Queen. You want an underground maze? Go do Jumping Puzzles without using guides, you’d receive just as much reward for your time as if such a system were incorporated into dungeons.
People want some sort of Skyrim-esque dungeon with multiple places to explore, let’s say you do, and those first few runs will feel like the first times you ever ran the already existing dungeons. You find the noteworthy loot, learn the spawn/s, learn which mobs do and don’t need to die, until eventually after so many runs you’re just bullrushing through it as fast as you can, nabbing the loot that gives a reasonable time to reward ratio and abrakadabra we’re back at square one.
I’ve done very little Arah, and that place feels like a kittening labyrinth. I’ve no idea where to go or what I’m doing, and that makes it interesting. But eventually I’ll learn it and it will just become another ‘slash n dash’ bullrush like every other dungeon, there’s nothing you can do about it. These paths are meant to be run over and over, so trying to implement any sort of ‘explorer’ feel to it just isn’t going to work.
I think you’re looking for something that never will, nor ever was meant to be part of the ‘dungeon experience’.

Slap Healing Signet on your Warrior and you needn’t worry about accidentally giving yourself 30 seconds of poison. That coupled with Knights armour and you’ve got a pretty forgiving build right there, and the damage wouldn’t be too shabby either. Having a ranged weapon on hand is very handy for your first few goes at Malrona, Leurent w/ adds, the Warders, and the Nightmare Trees (not forward/up.) Everything else can be melee’d with ease, and it’s actually preferred for the Vines so you can kill them before being overwhelmed by AoE’s.
Granted running your current setup is so far from optimal it isn’t funny, but it’ll get the job done, which is all that really matters when you’re new to a dungeon.
Someone’s been watching BEER’s videos.
Do yourself a favour and clad yourself in Berserker gear or at the very least Knights if you want anyone here to take you seriously.
No amount of ‘leadership’ is going to get 3-4 other players to stop afk-range-auto attacking. Rangers and to a lesser extent Thieves, Necros and Ele’s are notorious for doing this, at least Warriors charge in and get off a Berserker Hundred Blades before dying
I know randomfightfan solo’d path 2 with a thief, though I’m not sure if you can still use utility skills when you get crystalled by Alpha.
Even then I wouldn’t recommend trying to solo a dungeon you’ve never been in. As mentioned above make your own LFG mentioning that you’re new but eager to learn. It isn’t just you that feels the pinch from less dungeon activity, other people will be desperate for more party members which is a plus for you.
Also the same pistol skin with different colours, I like it.
…. Though dual pistols is a trash weapon set to have in dungeons
I thought the same thing about the ‘elitist’ dungeon guilds. Oddly enough the few who troll around the forums don’t represent the entire guild.
You only cop elitist attitude if you are running a build that has long since been proven to be bad, e.g anything not clad in Berserker gear (or you’re a terrible player or start fights/don’t listen etc, etc). And really if you want to be apart of a dungeon running community then why wouldn’t you want to be the best you can be to help your team as much as you can?
When I see someone running around in PVT gear, or using terrible weapon and utility choices, all I see is how much that person isn’t contributing as much as they should be. And if expecting a member of the party to contribute their fair share is considered ‘elitism’, then hell I guess that makes me elitist too.
Tested the bosses in HotW, I don’t feel like disclosing my methods but I believe they have close to 7 billion health.
You get 50s upon completing the dungeon.
Edit: Also you found a Rare, and those strongboxes have a chance to drop crazy good loot.
Edit Edit: You were solo’ing story mode? O.o

I like it, this a classic tafu thread.
Aren’t you the guy regularly complaining about how hard dungeons are and how much of a baddy Anet is for ruining your CoF1 farm?
Also DnT didn’t let you in because you don’t have an 80 zerk Ranger
Happened in a Pug yesterday. We had a ranger camping at the top of the stairs and a Mesmer, can’t be sure which clones/illusions he was using though.
In lieu of that there’s usually a mob of people in LA who would do a dungeon out of sheer boredom. They’re the legendary wielders that you can feed to mobs as cannon fodder.
Yeah Magg is ridiculously buggy, it’s probably the main reason I used to jump over the gates. Easiest way is too have four people waypoint back to the start, and Magg will follow the last person across the lava, don’t stop at the marker you have to jump up the wall behind it if you get any ‘aggro’ issues.
What? Throw Axe and hope for the best?
SE p1 is insanely easy! I don’t think I’ve ever wiped on that path, even with PuGs.
We can try one night
kitten. We wiped on that path didn’t we?
I’m going to keep spouting this till its true.
One Warrior for banners and Empower Allies
One Guardian for control and Aegis to maintain those using Scholar Runes.
Three Elementalists – would have to tinker with how many would need to Vuln and might stack so there’s no excess of either. Remaining Ele/s can go balls deep DPS traits.
Maybe even replace Guardian with another Elementalist if the path is easy enough. Three to four Ele’s could juggle any projectile skills required with Focus.
Bam perma blind, at least one FGS for every single encounter, YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST.
(edited by Dolan.3071)
I did a 3 man Lupicus with 2 thieves, and me as a warrior. Life siphon was used on me every time
I’m telling you man, Cleric’s gear isn’t as good as it used to be.
SE p1 is insanely easy! I don’t think I’ve ever wiped on that path, even with PuGs.
Endure Pain does not block the clones, tested and confirmed.
It has encouraged dungeon diversity, it’s actually quite profitable to chain the easy paths from every dungeon.
If you’re the type of player who just does CoF1 once, then logs off because mean old Anet ruined your easy gold farming (which has just been moved to Cursed Shore btw), then I don’t really know what to say.
The only thing is that within guilds now, if you miss player prime time you’re not going to be able to put a group together because there’s just no replay value for the other members. And even if token rewards were fixed but the gold reward was left account bound, I still wouldn’t rerun a path on an alt, because more profit can still be made elsewhere (unless of course I desperately needed tokens from that dungeon.)
Change the CoF1 reward to 10 silver and go nuts on making the rewards character bound. I am starting the feel the pinch a bit more now that I’m trying to make groups much later in the day, but the CoF1 abuse simply cannot return (granted its got nothing Cursed Shore farming at the moment.)
Get all 5 people to range attack in melee range, hope for the best.
…. The best being a massive AoE knock back that will one hit KO most of your team and send them into the lava, why do we even want to know how this works xD
Whenever I see your name… I think of that scene in Family Guy.
“I guess it takes Juan, to know Juan”
“HEUHEUHEUHEUHEUHEU”
….I’m aware most people won’t get the reference.
Edit: OH MY GOD I FOUND IT

(edited by Dolan.3071)
Or you could farm Cursed Shore champs and make more in 5 minutes than a whole day of dungeoneering.
DERZ YA F4RM!1!
Bearbow, oh man that’s a good one.
Wait is this how this works now!?
Okay umm triple/quadruple Ele teams are the shiz!
Ranger will be in the new meta!
Necro’s aren’t as bad as everyone thinks and can easily replace extra Warriors!
Thief Venom Sharing is OP!
Guardian on Fiery Greatsword does the most damage!
If at least one of these turns out to be true you must worship me you degenerate players! NOW GO PROVE MY WILD CLAIMS!
Oh okay xD
Even my phone looks like your image, Broad needs to uninstall Internet Explorer
I suggested that in a different thread, 50% gold reward if you run the path again on an alt, no gold reward if one character does a path twice.
But I think that would break the likes of CoF1, you could run it once for every character and still make a lot of gold. Even 50s is too much reward for CoF1 IMO.
Wait are you actually complaining about that tiny white square as displayed in Player Character’s picture? I’ve always wondered what you were going on about and assumed your browser just had the ups.
Btw dolan in that video, the eles were running pure DPS traits and not the vuln stacking, so all our vuln was from the engi that replaced the mesmer.. and in this case engi>mesmer in DPS. And it allowed the ele to go for more % modifiers for more personal damage.
That makes sense, takes the Vuln stacking pressure off other roles.
But if you start down that road how much DPS is the Engi sacrificing by going for so much Vuln stacking? This is where my lack of Engi knowledge really starts to shine.
And if that is the case, is the Engie’s Vuln stacking and damage comparable to an Ele that specs for Vuln stacking? I’m not saying all Ele’s, in this situation it’d be a 3 Ele team, one or two on Vuln stacking, though even the current setup of one ‘Vuln Ele’ maintains consistent stacks.
And as Nick said, that’s not even mentioning the insane amount of Fiery Greatsword uptime you would achieve with multiple Ele’s, in this situation having three Ele’s O.o
Though I have to admit I’m happy to see people starting to turn away from Mesmer, must be some bitter WvW/PvP resentment but my god do I hate that class….
(edited by Dolan.3071)
Mesmer chaos strikes again. When are they getting dropped from the meta?
Edit: I’ll answer my own question, when Feedback gets nerfed.
