Call me old fashioned but I still see an Ele without a conjure to be just so… useless. The damage just isn’t even comparable, and you dont even mention using Fiery Greatsword (granted I didn’t read through the comments to see if it was added.)

But warrior will still deal insane damage, that’s perfectly working as intended, they won’t nerf that.
That ‘Advanced’ Elementalist guide made me giggle. GJ on your team carrying your lousy DPS through dungeons. Maybe ‘New Player’ guide would be more fitting cause you practically run bunker traits.
Necros can mass spam blinds and chills, if PvE was better designed they would be pretty bloody useful.
If conditions in PvE were better overall Necros would be pretty useful…

There are two professions I refuse to PuG with, Ranger and Necro. After that I judge Engies and Thieves on their AP, too low and they get kicked, too high and they obviously only farm APs so kick too. Seriously I swear the player skill to AP ratio drops off at either end of the scale.
Brazil, Dub, Muffin, Myself, and others, could all solo it legitimately if we wanted to. Can you, or all of the other path sellers say the same?
Ask any of the above when was the last time they skipped Lupicus, with the intention of making gold. Not that I really care for solo’ing, I get bored if I don’t have someone to laugh at when they fail.
Also, Brazil and I have been successfully getting banned on lfg almost daily at this point. Would be pretty hypocritical to grief others.
If I put aside the time to throw myself at Lupi until I got him down to a fine art like the [SOLO] chaps have I’m sure I could solo p2 legit. Though I’m not too sure about Alphard with a Warrior (bracing for Guardian jokes), might have to abuse LoS but keep her on the move as to not technically “exploit”, I don’t really know, my few legit attempts went sour very quickly if I didn’t abuse LoS especially when the adds spawned.
I don’t even sell slots since all the griefing started, I just give them away to guildies… My laziness strikes again ;D
I can’t wait until they fix all of the exploits in Arah. That will really get rid of most of the path sellers.

… That last one was probably a stretch but you get my point.
is simply a bad idea because people will rush and kill a certain boss and then leave and repeat.
For example in TA, people used to just rushkill the first champ Nightmare Vine to farm Onyx lodestones.
In Arah, people used to farm Crusher/Hunter and/or Magecrusher, which is why Magecrusher doesn’t drop anything anymore by the way.
I really like #2 though, although I’d much rather see it with only the explorable modes. Every dungeon has at least 1 path that PUGs hate to do (except maybe CoE), which would encourage people to at least do the hard paths in order to get extra rewards.
If they implemented that, and included story mode that you had to complete, they’d have to make all the storymodes less stupidly long.
If I didn’t know any better I’d still think you wanted to mindlessly farm CoE all day
I liked #2 until you pointed out CoE, and then it would just be farmed to all hell, though I suppose that’s better than the Meta Event farming craze that’s going on <_<
I kinda feel for OP, whilst I don’t do CoF, if CoE or Arah is contested across all servers then I just don’t do the dungeon, I’ll find something else to do until someone else opens one.

Is generally the first profession to go down in a bad PuG, regardless of how good the Ele is. Don’t get me wrong Ele has incredible potential but it suffers the most when things go wrong.
Warrior has high demand but is utterly useless at carrying a bad group. TBH I wish I had levelled my Guardian and put it through FotM after seeing just how easy one observant Guardian will make every single fractal.
It would probably end up being a structure that doesn’t move or takes critical damage that spawns endless mobs like TAFU and people will come complain on the forums about the HoZ.
And the we’ll end up having to liberate the frontpage from all the HoZ.
If you don’t give him stacks of Defiance you can use Wall of Reflection and he will interrupt himself with his own pull. Buys you a bit more time ^-^

By ‘fixing’ culling they’ve put more pressure on your computer and Internet connection to handle the extra payload so to speak.
Also 8 FPS is terribad, how on Earth do you play like that? Even my crumby laptop sits me around 30 which is still pretty bad IMO.
I notice this in Arah where there is so much “scenery” to load that my FPS plummets, all I can say is just turn your graphics to ‘Best Performance’. My god does it look terrible but it’ll get you through those difficult areas.

That went on for a while, think we found the best PuG Warrior ever though, dat banner micro managing is just something the regular PuG can’t handle.

You can never 100% rid yourself of kittens, that’s the gamble with Pugging. Obnoxious players make it very easy to identify them almost as soon as you enter the dungeon (players who spam party chart with “guys wtf?” are my favourite.) However don’t confuse this attitude with someone who just wants to take the lead so everyone knows what’s what, and having that leader role is so very helpful for inexperienced players. I suppose if you see two or three people that are in the same guild, or seem to be friends, be wary of any condescending talk, because as you just experienced it takes just 3 clicks to send you out on your way.
And really it takes a special kind of elitist to expect anything from PuG’s, all I expect from a PuG is to stack where we stack, and not ruin any pulls with unnecessary knock backs. Oh and errr…. 3k+ AP and a non-trash profession

Oh god who am I kidding, we went through like 10 PuGs in TA once till we found two that were adequate, but in my defence, that was the smoothest PuG TA ever.
Yeah you support your team better by maximising DPS. It makes encounters quicker so there’s less chance of messing up a dodge or running out of ‘get out of jail free cards’ like reflects and Aegis. Also speed killing mobs lets you cheese past most of their attacks, like defeating the Howling King before any gravelings spawn, or Colossus before any rocks drop.
This thread… If the master of lists ‘Wukunlin’ were here I’d ask him to compile all the threads that stayed on topic. To be honest… I think he’d have a hard time.
Almost no one I know uses the DM title and I can safely say they’re a lot better than most of the fools running around with it.

Back on topic, I just keep telling myself that dungeons would get even more broken if a dungeon team were added. Like fixing things that aren’t broken, ignoring the things that are, etc etc. I mean the crew who revamped AC did a good job IMO (conflicted feelings about path 2) but AC was close to the end on my list of dungeons that needed fixing. It was the perfect starter dungeon that coddled the low level newbies, who now have to wait until CoF to experience what should be their first dungeon.
It’s pretty easy to get 25 stacks in CoE because of the first wave of trash, then the trash before the laser, and then there’s the risen trash in p2/p3 and the destroyer trash in p3.
At the same time, I’m not sure if it’s worth compromising your DPS through Alpha 1 and legendary Golem just so you can make your DPS better for Bjarl and final Alpha. I only use it on my mesmer because night/slaying doesn’t affect phantasm DPS.
Take Force/Accuracy at the start then change to the stacking Sigil once you reach the mobs on the stairs before Alpha v2, and then change back? But really, unless you’re setting a record run it probably isn’t worth the fuss over the whole .5 seconds it’ll save.

“Doing fine” can have very different meanings, you might’ve been doing something wrong without noticing, ranged camping can annoy a lot of people. Other than that idunno, I suppose watch out if two or more of the group are from the same guild, and if you got griefed then it would’ve been for Dungeon Master title :/
I don’t even change weapons once I’m at full stacks. You’re usually like 3/4 through the dungeon once you get full stacks anyway (Except for like… Arah where you can go kill spideys, oh they’re at the start of AC too)
I mean… I even have the Sigil of Force back-up Axe but I’m just lazy, and it’s not as purty as my Beacon of Light (inb4 flyswatter/spatula jokes)

In OP’s defence, when I first started playing I always fought Kholer in the old AC. He gave terrible loot and was definitely not worth the time but I did it anyway. And when I saw people skipping him I thought they were just bad.
But it reaches a point where you just can’t be bothered anymore, the novelty of beating down optional HP sponges eventually wears off. You get some high price goals in mind such as a Legendary weapon and you realise just how counter-productive it is to kill everything in sight, when the real reward is at the end (on champs now too I suppose.)
You could form a guild dedicated to slow clear dungeons, but I can guarantee the same thing will happen to you. Trust me, wailing on the same optional mobs again and again and again gets old real quick. And as mentioned above there is a challenge to skipping some content, and I too find it a lot more fun than risking a wipe on trash.
Stop running with Rogers and Demona and run with me more often… I almost never do CoE. Arah > TA > CM > AC > CoE > SE >>> CoF >>>> … >>>> HotW is my personal order of favorite dungeons.
But yeah, it was getting pretty annoying when they farmed CoE all day. But still, I would like the 40 – 20 distribution over the 20 – 40 so I can do Arah on multiple characters and not feel like I wasted my time…
I haven’t done CoE for a while now that I think about it. I try to do TA and AC daily (DEM RECIPES), then whatever other people are doing, maybe a bit of totally legit and non exploiting Arah runs…. I’ll learn how to do it properly when you can’t bug everything xD

Haha I’m all for dungeon variety, but before the update it was nigh impossible to find a guild group for anything other than CoE. So despite currently not being able to rerun a path (not worth!) I’m still pro ‘anti-farm’ updates.
It used to be like, run the same dungeon over and over and over, whilst sitting there making fun of the CoF farmers, it was hypocrisy in its finest, and I’m very glad it’s no longer profitable. (Got kitten filtered there what the hell, please make a NSFW sub-forum so I can form sentences that make sense.)
However I wouldn’t mind some accurate gold rewards to be implemented ^-^
We served 47 exploiting sellers with gw2lfg bans. Only one seller stayed untouched, he was the only one who did Lupicus…
Didn’t you help discover the exploit in the first place? Most likely doing it yourself for a period of time (and profit) and now you’re suddenly “anti-exploiting” because you can now quickly and reliably solo/duo Lupicus yourself?
Second of all, and more importantly, when the dungeon revamps hit, are you actually going to adjust the gold rewards for them according to their relative difficulty, or are you keeping the newly implemented lazy system.
Also, is there any incentive to change the dungeon token DR? Maybe add 40 tokens to a path and 20 to the daily instead, so that running different paths is better, but there is still some incentive to redo paths on different characters?

Pretty much all points have been covered already.
As a footnote, avoid Ascalonian Catacombs path 2, Sorrow’s Embrace path 2, Citadel of Flame path 3, Honour of the Waves path 2 and 3, Twilight Arbour Forward→Up until you’re more used to whole functionality of dungeons.
These are what I consider to be the “totally not worth the time and effort” paths (more so for PuGs, I mean we guild run Twilight Arbour F/U all the time) and might turn you away from dungeons if you dive straight into these “harder” paths. I suppose the same goes for any path in Arah, Lupi is not the guy you want introducing you to the concept of dodge or die xD
those are always in short supply.
