NA T1 needs more balance

I really wish people would stop whining. We wanted the old bl’s back and we got them. We wanted stability changes and we got them. We wanted something to be done about the lack of players in wvw and we got it. We’re going to get a change to how scoring is done because we want it.

People whine about leaked patch notes like it’s some kind of insider trading that needs the SEC to investigate. No, it’s not. Everyone saw the leaked notes. Everyone had the same chance to take advantage of that information. If your server didn’t that’s your problem, not Anet’s and most certainly not the players on other servers.

I’m really not sure what people expect at this point?

I agree. This is beta people. A.Net is using us to figure out what to do by looking at reams of data.

I think the ABL’s could use a redesign since there is so much wasted space on the outer edges vs. the DBL’s which has wasted space in the middle. Isn’t there some happy medium in design?

There really shouldn’t be much PvE in WvW (besides camp guards, doly’s, etc). WvW is large scale PvP really. Any more PvE then you end up being EotM and that is not fun at all except for derailing PPT blobs.

Sorry – no. The reason being is that is what EotM is and it has no server pride or anything else involved. It is just mindless blob vs. blob. There is no strategy involved and I think that is what makes WvW .

If you want megaservers, play EotM, after all that is what you are asking for.

Nerfs are coming for a number of the problematic guild upgrades like cloaking waters, chilling fog and airship defense.

For cloaking waters, the stealth duration is getting reduced dramatically. We recognize that it’s possible that any amount of stealth is too strong, but changing a number is something we can do quickly and safely. Whereas changing the upgrade to do something entirely different requires significantly more time, both in terms of general development (design/implementation/testing) and also in large part because it would require updated text, which in turn needs to go through our long editing and localization process. As for removing the upgrade entirely, that also isn’t really an option, due to how it’s intertwined with the Scribing and Guild Halls systems.

Why not just remove them? That would be a way to help even odds between defending and capturing. There is already enough issues with blind ARC placements (3rd floor SMC, etc.) that makes capturing hard enough as it is.

Full sentinel big fat max size Charr Dragonhunter shouts frontline balls deep with trooper runes + cleansing sigils & condi reduction food with elite invulnerable along with all your buddies’ cleanses in a team comp that isn’t just full zerk twerk time.

I don’t know why but all I can think of when I nose dive into the enemy is MC Hammer’s song; CAN’T TOUCH THIS.

Yes it’s gimmicky but it is glorious. And majestic. And fun.

Have not tried it with the buff in this patch to guard shouts regarding CD reduction, more condi removal uptime? Sounds good to me.

Still – run into a group of condi mesmers and necros and you are down for the count.

Ok just got back from taking long break from the game to come back to the game hop into WvW only to find out that the Revenant is the new OP class, Insta healing to max in sec everytime you should drop them they need nerf bad longer CD or something.

Let me guess, are you walking into DH traps and insta dying too?

More than likely. I would hate to see what he does against a condi – chronomancer with the 25 stacks of confusion……

HP bars doesen’t slow the game down. And you don’t need to be a straight healer class to have a need for HP bars. It’s nice to know where to place water fields. PPl who want to have it on should have the option for it.

Actually it does slow down the game as does names, etc. because all those items have to be rendered (mini-pets even slow the game down). As far as waters, that is what a commander and voice comms are for.

Well, an arrow cart is thus that, an arrow cart. Just because you have higher power on your character does not mean it should do more damage, that would be unfair, just as the condi add on for the toons was unfair. Hence why they removed the condi damage add on – THAT IS FAIR.

ARCs should just do the damage they have listed on their skills and that is it.

It is because most people have them off. I mean, since there is NO straight HEALER class and everyone has to be aware of their own HP, it makes sense. Also, that HP bar does use more resources and slows the game down.

Also, this is beta testing in WvW.

Why do you want it anyway? Most AoE heals only work for 5-10 people.

NO – too many guilds depend on the Airship attack, rather than actually defending themselves. This is the issue for me. I want to fight players, whether defending or attacking, not siege or goofy kitten items in game.

I should have quoted. But I was being sarcastic about the 1 hit kills on canons and OP AC’s being suggested.

Yes, because invisible fields of 15+ burning stacks that tick for 10K damage a second was perfectly normal in WvW, yes sir. We truly lost something critical to our beloved gameplay mode. RIP siege 19/4-2016.

Because siege is an item, like Golems, and you can’t use buffs on items like siege anymore. That was change a while ago.

I noticed, hidden in the patch notes “Fixed a bug in which siege weapons that applied condition damage were scaling based on the player’s condition damage.”

I’ll ask you to please revert this change. It clearly wasn’t a bug, and having a high condition damage player on a siege weapon was the only real way to defend a tower or keep without an equal-sized army inside.

Now, zergs will rule completely. Defending will be entirely pointless unless you REVERT this change.

Sorry no – if you have to use an exploit to defend a tower, you don’t deserve it. What this means is more like defending, the way it was BEFORE HoT.

There are still plenty of tricks to use including banners, emergency WP, chilling fog, etc. but now they need to be used at the right time.

Before the patch it was impossible to take a keep, now it is less impossible.

Now all they need to is stop the shooting ARCs blind across walls and this will fix more things.

Ug please no. Its so annoying to have to reallocate all gazillion of them on every toon. The new provision line is only 35 deep I think.

MAYBE when they do the next wvw season. Or crazy idea, how about a consumable for it so people can redo mains or something instead of everyone having to remax all 20 lines on 10+ characters.

If you have max points – it is not a big deal – please stop whining. Not everyone will like that but it happens.

I hated the ABL maps because they were boring and no thought into layout. They were designed by a 2 yr old. two keeps so close too gari and spawn with the spawn trebs and other siege placed there. So no thanks for the ABL’s until they fix that.

The guilds who moved down to TC from T1 are generally spawn campers as that is what they do the best. When TC was in T1, those same guilds did that all the time. It is nothing new when dealing with them.

They are also a salty lot, throwing siege on the driver, like a tombstone, as if that will do anything other than waste siege.

as far as i know, it is still un evadable. same as decapitate. warriors need help i know, but now like this. even on my thief with dash i am forced in melee range to do any real dmg and can not escape it unless i use my block.

Maybe you should learn to dodge. I mean Warriors are not really used any more in WvW, unless you count gunflame.

Obviously NOT that good. Warriors have been nerfed into the ground with the Pirate Ship meta. That is why there are very few warriors in WvW now, with the nerf of stability, only seem to be Flame Gun now.

Every Profession has some weakness, that is the way GW1 was also. No one profession should be just uber over everything. Makes no sense.

Already quitted PvP as I had enough of reaper/chrono condi and unkillable scrappers, I didn’t quit gw2 because of wvw , great game mode…but you kittening ruined, this mindless cc/aoe spam, nothing but dragon hunters spamming traps all over the kittening place alongside unblockable marks …..what a shame..really what a shame, I would seriously take this game and give to another design company…if only

In order for marks to be unblockable, you have to be traited for it. It was ALWAYS that way. JEEZ .

I think that DH tramps need to be red circles also. _ I also think they should make them so you cant overlap them. That would prevent the load of DH traps being used.

OR JUST BRING BACK THE OLD STABILITY – the traps would be more situational then.

2016-03-26 server activity

It is interesting, and I don’t play in T3 so I don’t know, but is it because you guys basically night cap while mag caps during na? I ask because, for example, you guys have 4.3k kills in t3, while Dh has 10.3k in t4 lol (and we have more deaths than we have kills lel). Even the smallest server in t4 (NSP) has 6.4k, t5 server EBay has 6.5k… Poor SBI has only 2.7k lol. Your server has less kills than a losing t5 server :/ (FC).

I think SBI has 7.5k? But yes, SoS basically night caps everything with almost no resistance. Mag’s EU and NA is totally dominant in tier 3 right now, so they get a lot of kills and and have a good KDR (they have good guild groups + numbers).

That is the same that TC has been doing and now with the extra people stacking on TC to push that server up to T1, well it will be even worse.

TC is now the stacked server. The alliance of guilds that went YB to push t1 now reside there, coming from bg/Jq/YB – they must know something about what is coming or why pay to transfer at this point…… Which of course leads to what is worse – not knowing what is coming or only SOME people knowing what is coming……

They have no clue. You are giving those egomaniacs too much credit. They want TC to come up and JQ or BG to fall. That is all

Hence why many WvW players are asking for removal of all Tactivators. It would be more balanced and not heavily favored for big guilds that PvE constantly for guild upgrades. Small guild, right now, are at a disadvantage as most of them are roaming guild. They are the life blood that kept WvW in balance.

Servers Merge!

They are not going to merge server, yet. Merging will NOT deal with the unbalance that currently exists in WvW populations. It will only make it worse.

A.net first needs to figure out how to balance the populations for 24 hrs a day, then server mergers can be talked about.

Loot based on tick is pretty interesting if we could solve some of the population and coverage issues. The only ktraining I see on my server is when the other server night caps everything every night and gradually pulls 50k to 100k ahead by end of week.

I try to tell myself I don’t care about ppt but I hate losing.

No it would exacerbate the issue currently. The reason I say this is, PPT is everything in glicko (if done right) and it would make doing PPT against servers with no population during certain times (like night capping) even more extreme.

Until glicko is fixed, nothing should be done like this.

I guess people, who are complaining, never really done any studies of splash damage in RL situations. It does occur. So it is a viable way to open walls.

And yes, hitting the foundation is a way to destroy a wall. Think about all the houses that sink into sinkholes or sappers that dig to the foundation to destroy it.

EotM vs 'Real' WvW

There is a bit of discussion about EotM not being “real” WvW, and for me, I would like say to say that in some cases they are both the same. It’s Open Team based PvP, It’s Point Capture, and it’s the same idea of Three Teams. Red, Green, Blue. I can play “real” I run around flipping points and capping objectives in both environments without a single clash with other players, equally so, I can get bombarded by endless blob wars in both environments So it’s not the Mechanics that are real;y a dividing issue.

However, I can see why EotM is not considered “Real” WvW, because there is no “World Loyalty” in EotM.

EotM is like this one big huge Pug of people that are there for loot, karma, and exp. They don’t care what server they are running with or against. Leave EotM to sell/buy/trade, come back and even if it is the same “match” you can end up on a different map, running with new people, under a new commander, and facing opponents you never saw before. There is no Unity or Loyalty in EotM

Unlike WvW, where the people you see out there Today, are the same people that were there Yesterday, and will be there Tomorrow, there is a sense of My World. I will defend My Borderlands. WvW is like being in this one huge Guild. We may not all get along, but we are all part of the same team.

I think that really is where the division is between the two.

Just wanted to put that out.

I think this pretty much sums it up. EotM is a soulless void populated by automatons <cough>bots<cough> and people who are nigh-automatons.

2016-03-26 server activity

Every server siege humps, you can argue till you’re blue in the face but every server is the same. There will always be the people that would rather jump on an ac etc than fight. No matter your server. Does it matter? No. But people seem to delude themselves into thinking that it actually means something by name calling and going “qq that server sits under siege”, when 9/10 said person has been caught doing the same at some point.

Just keep it on the cancer forums and play what little is left of our beloved (dying) game mode.

It does because some servers are worse than others. I know FA has some but mostly they are a fight server, hence with no fights or fights over massive number differences why people leave.

Siege was supposed to help with keeps, not be the end all and be all to the game. I remember an ABL Gari siege which lasted 6 hrs – it was a glorious fight, even with siege. Now you can shoot ARC’s over walls, down from 3rd floor od SMC, etc. It is not the same game.

Double team what? Not when TC has TORK and CERN consistently ignoring TCBL scouts. No one needs to even try to make a double team. LOL

TORK only uses siege or runs – they don’t fight and CERN prefers taking BL’s that aren’t manned, so they don’t like to fight either – Disco of CERN will fight, the other CERN commanders not so much.

I transferred from TC to FA about a month ago. I’ve run with Zog and TORK, and they’ve always been willing to fight, even outnumbered and in the shadow of enemy siege.

As far as double teaming, I’ve seen DB and TC double team FA garri, with TC pulling off to let DB cap. I’ve yet to see a double team as a resident of FA, unless you’re counting hitting the backline during a fight when we happen to come across one. And then we’ve just hit whoever was closest and went on to try to kill everyone we could.

As far as server stacking, my grandfather made his living as a gambler during the depression. I was raised knowing that stacking the deck is cheating and there is nothing worse than a cheat.

I’ll also note that calling cheating ‘server politics’ doesn’t make it any better.

Zog and TORK fight? He never fought when HEL was on TC , why would he change now. He loves to siege hump, that is his modus operandi.

TC and DB don’t double team, they just PPT and DB and FA don’t double team, either. We might try to break an SMC WP but that is all. That is what happens when you upgrade a keep totally to T3, siege it up and then treb every one else’s keeps on EBG.

EotM vs 'Real' WvW

EoTM is WvW in the same sense sPvP would be WvW if there was a third side.

So, PvP is PPT? hmm – that is news to me…..

EotM WAS supposed to be the learning map for new WvW players, now it is the rank farming map for mithril level players.

@Jason: Hel ded guild in terms of WvW. They moved to FA for fights and yet won’t fight unless they outnumber you.

Jayce – keep saying that to yourself. Maybe repeating a lie continuously will make it happen, but as it is, HEL is on a break. We get sick of the siege hump and running, Jayce is an expert at that. It is frustrating for us, to see TC, hold up in their keeps, trying to lure people into siege range (it is so obvious, a 2 yr old can see that ploy). Then when you do break into SMC, that they hold, what does TC do, they pull the Air Ship defense. They outman us and they do that, it is pathetic but that is the way the game meta is, it rewards kittens.

Don’t get me wrong, there are good and great players on TC, but they are out numbered by the rabbits and siege humpers.

I also should send Jayce a dictionary as he can’t spell ‘DEAD’. And Jayce, we never outman you Why is it we always have the outmanned buff then. hmm? If you mean better players, then yes, we outman in spades.
